Take a look at Ukpabi Asika.
He was the administrator of East Central state during the civil war. He was partly Igbo and partly Hausa Fulani. He gave the FG instructions on how to bring down Biafra. Bringing down Biafra means massacring of Ndigbo.
So what did our tribe gain by the marriage that produced someone like him.



Take a look at Ike Nwachukwu.

Now, magine war starts between members of tribe A and tribe Z. And James is partly tribe A and Z. The different tribes in the world beautifys the world. It would be distasteful and unnatural for us all to merge as one.

Truely Akalaka's father like many upland igbos migrated to Benin for trade with the benin people and portuguese. He was coopted into the royal family due to his enterprising bearings. His son Akalaka was fingered in an assassination attempt on the Oba of his time and what did he do after- he ran back to his ancestral roots for protection. He didn't run to yorubaland neither did he run south. He ran back eastwards to join his kiths his father left behind and the rest is history.

Note: Not all ikwerre trace their ancestry from Akalaka genealogy though it is the most prominent narrative currently. There were waves if migration from Aro, Ngwa, Owerri , Anioma, and even far away Awka. Ikwerre clans like Isiokpo, some Obio clans have a different origin and it is well documented.
