The Rapid Response Squad has released pictures of suspects arrested taking undue advantage and scamming unsuspecting citizens on dating platforms. The RRS also gave an insight into methods used by the alleged scammers. Michael Atanda who was arrested by RRS operatives recently was blinded by fascination. Hiding under the picture of a handsome London based Nigerian Segun Bayo, he would woo ladies on Facebook, get them to expose their body parts and threaten to expose them in exchange for money. Sadly, for four of his victims, there was no limit. He taunted, blackmailed and extorted till RRS arrested him. Jaiye, 52, met Bunmi on Badoo. After few months, Bunmi thought of relocating to the USA. She confided in Jaiye, who encouraged her to surrender her N1.4million for visa and another N50, 000 for passport processing. Till now, Jaiye has not turned in the passport or the visa for more than a year. When questioned by the police, Jaiye started singing how many times he had slept with Bunmi and all he knew about her. Recently, one Oluwole Falope operating with Instagram handle Froshwhite007 and posing as a USA based lady Shayla was arrested after collecting various forms of money from 15 men seeking to date him. Sometime in September last year, Shade, after listening to a late night dating programme agreed to meet her blind date in Ikeja. Before this, they had communicated back and forth on phone. On the said date, her ‘boyfriend’ bought her drinks and so they ate. Unknown to Shade, her date had a new fascination beyond her. He sent Shade to get more drinks. Before Shade came back, the supposed ‘boyfriend’ had absconded with her two mobile phones. A staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), Quadri Tairu Adewale has cried out for help following his condition which was reportedly caused by electrocution while on an official duty. The man who is married with two children alleged that officials of PHCN Ikeja zonal office in Alausa, Lagos are yet to do something reasonable to help him improve his condition. He shared his story with Seun Oloketuyi who posted it online. Read below; I humbly seek for assistance and help after the unfortunate accident of electrocution and the maltreatment meted out to me by the management of PHCN ikeja zonal office Alausa. Am Quadri Tairu Adewale by name and i hailed from epe LG in L/state ,i attended both my primary and secondary education all in epe before an admission to study elect/electronic in olabisi onobanjo university (OOU ) and am married with two kids. I joined NEPA in 2001 through a program by FG called RCM as contract staff and was latter disengaged after unbundling of NEPA to PHCN,but was fortunate to gained an admission into OOU by 2004 during unbundling policy and left for school immediately. However, i was due for industrial training (I.T ) by 2008 and applied for same at PHCN ojodu district, i was accepted was posted to magodo service center for the said training, thus while working OFFICIALLY with the staffs PHCN at magodo i got electrocuted on 5 May 2008,and was admitted into lagos state teaching hospital (LASUTH) where i went through four different operations. I lost both my arms due to that unfortunate accident and was in LASUTH for 13 months and 6 days before i was discharged and all expenses pay by PHCN. I was flown for further medical evaluations abroad (India ) and for prosthetic surgery when the presidency got involved after it was published in daily newspaper (THE SUN ) on 14 April 2009, to be honest i came back more disappointed with huge fraud that took place in India. Nonetheless i still engaged with management of PHCN (ikeja zonal office) on way forward, committees were set up ,till date nothing has been done even with their committees reports with different recommendations, hence all efforts to seek and get PHCN ikeja zonal office to my plight proved abortive. I therefore appeal to well meaning Nigerians to please support these agendas which are : 1. Medical rehabilitation which includes provision of more reliable prosthesis. And 2. Empowerment to take care of my family as presently we rely on charity which is not sustainable. I hope this my appeal will be handled with passion and urgency needed as my life is rusting away and my hopes of better lives crumbling as well ,thank you as you step in to save a hopeless soul and as i pray for you blessings from almighty God . Yours Faithfully, Quadri T.A Source; https://www.nationalhelm.co/2018/02/phcn-staff-loses-arms-electrocuted-official-duty-photos.html

A young girl has revealed her dismay after her father allegedly refused to enroll her in school. According to a report shared online, the teenage hawker who moved from Zaria in Kaduna state to Abuja last year revealed how she misses school as her father reportedly said school isn't important for girls. Below is the report which was shared online; My family just moved to Abuja November last year. My brothers were very happy when we relocated, except me. I really don't like it here because I miss my friends in Zaria. My brothers are the only ones my father enrolled In school. He said school isn't important for girls. But my friends in Zaria who are girls are in school. I would always go to their houses once they were back from school, so they could teach me everything they learnt. They taught me how to recite the alphabet, 36 states and capital and also taught me how to read and write. I do not have any friend here yet who would teach me things. Sometimes when i think of my friends Ada and Bola I become sad. I really wish to go back to Zaria. Few days ago, it was reported that the Head of #iStandWithBuhari campaign northern operation, Kabiru Ishaq Sa'id, was involved in a motor accident at Sabon Yelwa village before Zaria City in Kaduna State which he survived (see HERE). The man took to Facebook to share photos from the accident scene as he thanked God for saving his life. Just two days after the unfortunate incident, he has been rewarded with a branded jeep. The happy man took to his Facebook to share the good news. Below is what he wrote; Lot's of speech and comments, references and insinuations, but in all victory is assured. The rain of wailers manipulations cannot stop the moving train, the challenges faced by a lion in the jungle only builds his strength. The strong will of a loyalist is tested on the challenges he faces in the course of the fight for victory. Story line is that the accident was truly a fight, a test and a trial but the fact is that there is victory of survival at last. My regards to all friends and well wishers whose prayers has sustained me through all these turbulence of the waters by the evil tide, but it settled in peace and we continue to match on to our dedication. #iStroglyStandWithBuhari. An Abuja based woman has revealed how she felt about marrying an illiterate some years ago before meeting her lovely heartthrob. According to her, she fell in love with the man who had no form of degree, income or career prospects but now they are happily married and blessed with two beautiful children. Read the post shared by Humans of Abuja on behalf of the lady. If someone had told me 5 years ago that I was going to end up marrying an illiterate, I would have presumed they were mad. But that’s what happened. I was 23 years old, happily single, with a successful career as a banker when I fell in love with a man that didn't have any form of degree, a Man with no income or career prospects. September that year, I was transferred to Abuja and one Sunday evening, I was sitting in a restaurant waiting for a friend, when a man sat down next to me. "Do you have the time?" he asked, he looked Smart, his clothes were nice, his hair and beard well cut and we started chatting and to my surprise he made me laugh several times with his bad English. I couldn’t help but notice that despite his bad English, he was handsome and tall. After a few minutes my friend arrive and he stood up and before I could say anything further he pointed to my table and said, "tomorrow 7pm, same table" then he walked away. My friend and I stared at each other, unable to believe what had happened. Had a man who appeared to be an illiterate order me to come back the next day? How could he be so confident? I found myself thinking about him through out that day, there was something about him that was so intriguing that I wanted to meet him again. Finally, the next day arrived and I was so excited, I could barely think straight at work, it was 7pm and I left to wait for him at the restaurant, I waited and waited, after 20 minutes I was about to give up when he turned up. " I didn’t think you would come, I came to check just in case" he said with a smile. I smiled back and my anger melted away. During our time together, I realised that he was simply the funniest, happiest and most optimistic person I had ever met. He had a lust for life that was both mesmerising and contagious. I had never met anyone like him before. I encouraged him to go back to school but he refused. I helped him with his English and helped correct him whenever he spoke an incorrect one. He's currently very good in both spoken and written English and doing very well business wise. We got married 3 years ago and God has blessed us with 2 beautiful kids so far.
