Honourable Mandela Obasi, the member representing Ohafia North State constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is in the news for empowering his constituents (mostly old women) with cutlasses and hoes.

According to reports, the lawmaker did to in order to encourage the people to be more productive.

A woman has been forced to speak out after a rumor spread far and wide few weeks ago, following a alleged confession made by her husband that he washes his sperm in her food to attract customers. The woman who is popularly known as madam Banga Rice and sells food at the Ojolu axis of Sapele area of Delta state - confirmed that her husband confessed to being a wizard but never said anything about influencing her food business....

Below is an interview she had with Sapele Olofofo Unugbragada conducted in Pidgin English.

A new twist emerged yesterday, after our studio carried out and exclusive investigation and interview in regards to the rumor making around.

Sou: Please ma, I be journalist and today I come ask you concerning the rumour when de go on for town, I hear say your husband confess say him de wash him sperm put inside your Banga rice when you de sell so that people go de rush am, madam this matter na true?

My brother I nor lie you, na true say my husband leg de swell some months ago, so I con decide to find out, the places them wen I go, all de point hand say my husband hand nor clean, dem say him na wizard and the reason when make e leg swell up na because say him nor gree fulfil the vow when him make, him suppose offer him son as sacrifice so that all other wizards go eat, because him join eat other people own, but now him refuse to produce him eldest child for sacrifice, so na the suffer him de so

SOU: After you hear this kind matter, na wetin you con do ?

Madam Banga Rice: When I come house that day I con de pressure my husband make him talk the thing wen him put hand wen make him leg swell up, I nor sabi talk small small, when I ask am the thing, him con say him nor do anything, I con de provoke de shout, I con later go invite family elders, na when them come gather nai my husband con begin confess

But between him confession no time him take make any statement about my food aspect, all wetin dem tell me when I go find out, him confirm all of the things when dem tell me

SOU: So you mean say the rumor na lie

Madam Banga Rice: Yes Sir, true my husband confess, but to say him put sperm and charms for my food that na lie

SOU: We hear say after the incident you con stop to sell and come begin hawk fish, that na true

Madam Banga Rice: Yes, na true say I stop to cook for some weeks, I con begin hawk fish. I stop because my heart nor fit carry wetin my husband truely be, also the issue con make many of my customers stop to patronize me, but as my husband body done better back, through prayer, I con decide to start again, as you de see say I de sell so.

SOU: Na wetin be your message to your customers out there, because many still never believe say your husband hand clean for where your food de?

Madam Banga Rice: Well first I wan apologize to every body including people when de outside sapele, because I believe say the news don spread, I de appeal to them say make them nor ves and make dem forgive my husband. This Banga Rice work, I start an before I marry, so na genuine food, I de appeal to them make those wen de fear, say nothing of such de added.

This is so sad. A gallant Nigerian soldier has lost his life in the battle against Boko Haram insurgents while defending the country. The Nigerian army special force commando - was killed recently while fighting the notorious terrorists at the battle field, according to reports.

A WhatsApp chat between the deceased soldier and his colleague was shared online after his death.

May his soul rest in peace.

Here's a picture purportedly showing Nigerians using motorcycles to smuggle bags of foreign rice from Niger Republic into the country. Muhammad Murtala Musa, who works as a Customs Licensed clearing and forwarding agent - shared the photo on Facebook.

He wrote;

Nigerians using motorcycles to smuggle bags of foreign rice from Niger Republic to Nigeria thereby sabotaging our local initiatives and later blame the government. I wonder why Nigerians cannot obey a simple law.

According to Propht Samuel Oduma, the evil man pays young boys 10,000 naira to collect pants of virgins for him which he uses for charms and rituals. Yesterday, the man was exposed, disgraced and severely beaten along with one of his accomplices as his shrine and items were destroyed in the process.

The concerted efforts of troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on the ongoing clearance of the Boko Haram terrorists through Operation DEEP PUNCH II has been yielding tremendous results. Troops have successfully been clearing Boko Haram camps in Sambisa forest including Camp Zairo.

They have also rescued civilians being held hostages by the terrorists, recovered arms, ammunition, Improvised Explosives Devices (IED) factories and making materials as well as other equipment. Consequently, the terrorists are in disarray and scampering for safety while others were surrendering.

Credible information from arrested and surrendered insurgents indicated that the purported Boko Haram terrorists group factional leader, Abubakar Shekau could not bear the heat anymore as he has abandoned his followers, he is running for his dear life. He is desperately trying to escape the theatre disguised as a woman dressed in Hijab. We reliably gathered that to avoid detection Abubakar Shekau alternates between blue and black coloured hijabs. He was last seen in a black hijab.

We therefore call on all those remaining Boko Haram terrorists to know that they are following a coward moving about in hijab disguised as a woman. We also request all the remaining Boko Haram members to come out from hiding and lay down their arms and be treated humanely.

While concerted efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the fugitive terrorist leader, we implore also members of the public, especially the residents of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States to be more vigilant, security conscious and be on the look out of Abubakar Shekau and other terrorists that might disguise as women to escape.

This is very sad. A school bus carrying some students and academic staff From Government Day Secondary School in Misau, Bauchi state - had an accident on their Way to Kano for excursion at Arewa24 TV station. According to a report by Abdulhadi Garban Malam, almost all the students and teachers lost their lives - with many seriously injured.

According to police reports, at least 22 secondary school students died on Tuesday in the road accident which happened in Gaya local government area of Kano state.

The Kano command of the Nigeria police confirmed the accident, saying its operatives were at the scene trying to “calm the situation”.

The accident, which occurred at about 11.00 a.m., involved a truck and a bus conveying the students from Misau local government, Bauchi.

The students were going on an excursion at a radio station.

Musa Majiya, the police spokesman said the police was ”taking care of the situation.”

A woman was attacked, injured and robbed by these two young boys recently. According to an online user who shared the pictures, the young hoodlums who are said to be 13 years old - waylaid their female victim as they descended on her with a knife which they used in wounding her on her left hand.

The boys were caught after much pursuit by an an angry mob who beat them black and blue before handing them over to security operatives.

A Nigerian soldier, Daniel Ndubuka Ekpo, who lost one of his legs in the battle against Boko Haram - has taken to social media to call for help for proper treatment by the army. According to him, his armored tank ran into an IED during an operation in the north east which to an explosion and him losing one of his damaged legs.

The soldier is calling on the army authorities to do better in giving him a proper treatment.

I am a soldier among those that fight the menace of insurgency/Boko Haram at the North East,my Tank Ran into (IED) Improvise Explosive Device. in d process my two legs Was badly damaged and the left leg was amputated,I a still on hospital admission but Nigerian Army Has not given me a proper treatment and I am really suffering, please I want all the members to pray for the Army Authorities who are responsible for my treatment So that I will properly treated.

The Southern Ijaw chairman of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee, NULGE, in Bayelsa state was killed earlier today after he was attacked by unknown gunmen. According to reports, the attack happened in broad daylight is said to be a case of assassination by those who claim to know the deceased.

The victim was said to be in a tricycle when the gunmen attacked him leaving him seriously injured in the process with his intestines coming out of his stomach. He died few minutes after the attack.
