A lady was disgraced and beaten after she was caught stealing four mobile phones at a female hostel in the University of Uyo UNIUYO, Akwa Ibom state. According to reports, the lady who is said not to be a student - always visits the hostel, acting like a student/resident and has been stealing mobile phones from her unsuspecting victims before her capture.

Last night was an 'Owner-Day' for her. She was caught after stealing 4 mobile (android) phones at Hall 2A last night.

A wife who claims to be a victim of domestic violence is seeking for divorce following alleged maltreatment from her husband. The woman who says she's currently in the hospital shared a picture of herself with bite marks on her back which was allegedly done t her by her husband.

She revealed she now wants to leave her husband who allegedly bit her and left her injured before he kills her.

Yesterday, the Liberian President, George Weah, visited Nigeria where he met with President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Presidential Villa, in Abuja, the nation’s capital. Both Presidents met behind closed doors at the Villa after which the Liberian President called for stronger ties between his country and Nigeria.

Nigerian talented designer Emeka Oparah of Ethelberts who once dressed former president Olusegun Obasanjo with a 'Made-in-Aba' attire - met with the Liberian President George Weah as he dressed him with one of his locally made suits.

Mr Oparah took to his social media page to share the good news.

"Let’s welcome to the Ethelberts family, my Brother, his Excellency the President of Liberia, Mr. George Oppong Weah".

Some days ago, a combined troops of 23 Brigade while on Special Mission Operation at Gwamba Village, Demsa L.G.A in Adamawa state arrested and recovered the below suspects and exhibits for taking part in Gwamba attack.

The first suspect named Muja Adamu, a native of Mbula from Borrong village was arrested with one AK 47 rifle No. 1973809823 with 41 live ammunition while 4 AK 47 rifles with No. 568124 ,BH3334,0N9596 and 5822 with 120 live ammunition were recovered during search abandoned by the fled Fulani attackers.

The suspects are Muja Adamu, Ayuba Adamu, Hudu Usman, Ayuba Danmanga, Sani Adamu, Muhammed Adamu Hamadu Barki.

Some other suspected were also arrested in connection with the Gwamba attack...

This is sad. A Nigerian soldier was killed yesterday Friday, 2nd March 2018, by the deadly Boko Haram terrorists. The young and gallant soldier identified as Emeka popularly called Scottish jasper - hailed from Onicha Olona in Asaba, Delta State.

According to reports, the brave soldier had encountered and survived several injuries in the battle field before his unfortunate death.

He was killed in battle while fighting for his country against Boko Haram insurgents.

May his soul rest in peace.

According to reports, a group of suspected oil pipeline vandals were found dead after indigenes of the community heard the sound of a dynamite around the community oil pipelines on Sunday 25th February...It was later discovered that the victims, were caught in their own act while trying to blow up an oil pipeline.

Three persons were badly burnt, while two died at the spot, the other was still alive with some degrees of burnt.

The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday at Azagbene community in Ekeremor local government area of the Bayelsa state.

Fear has gripped residents of Ezimuku, Agbaja in Abatete area of Anambra state after a young man killed his own father and stabbed his mother in a tragic incident which happened earlier today. According to reports, the reason why the man meted out the horror on his parents is still unknown.

He was arrested by the Abatete vigilante group and placed in handcuffs as he was handed over to the police.

A 30-year-old commercial driver, Nsikak Udokang, was burnt to ashes, Wednesday, by suspected cultists on Etim Ekpo-Iwukem-Abak Highway in Akwa Ibom State. According to Harrison Essien, the deceased was born in Calabar in 1988 without seeing his father.

He died a painful death and was buried Thursday in Uyo, without any family member or relative at the graveyard to perform the dust to dust and bid him farewell.

His death is coming at a time Nsikak, a driver with Akwa Ibom Transport Company, AKTC, was planning to bury his mother, whose body has been in a mortuary for years, due to lack of funds for burial...

Nsikak's only surviving brother, who was a fisherman, is said to have died in a river in Ikang, Cross River State, some years, with his body not found up till today.

Having lost his entire family and with primary school certificate, life became extremely difficult for Nsikak, but was lucky to have gotten a job as a driver with Akwa Ibom State Company, with the hope that things will get better for him one day.

Wednesday, the 28th of February, 2018, was like every other day for him. He left his house in Uyo without any sign of illness, not knowing that he will not return home alive.

From Aba, he took passengers enroute to Uyo, but midway, few kilometers to the destination, suspected cultists blocked his vehicle and in a bid to escape, the gunmen opened fire and killed him.

An eyewitness account is that “The hoodlums blocked the road and robbed people. The AKTC bus ran into them, but tried to escape. About six cultists shot at it. The bullets ignited fire, which burnt down the bus. When I heard gunshots, I escaped into Edem Akai Primary School with my motorcycle and watched the incident from there.After robbing the passengers, the cultists snatched a Toyota Camry car and escaped with it.

They took the untarred road through Udianga Enem to their hideout at Okoyo village. Others followed the stolen car on their motorcycles. They took away some pretty young ladies passengers inside the bush. The hoodlums robbed nearby shops. Policemen, who usually block Ikot Nya section of the highway, escaped in their van.”

After the dust was settled, the upper part of Nsikak's body, roasted, was discovered with the lower part including the legs, burnt beyond recognition.

A woman's life was reportedly saved after suffering from a medical condition aboard a flight from Lagos to Kano. Report has it that the woman had a life threatening asthma attack which probably caused panic on board the plane.

The cabin crew asked if there was any doctor present in a bid to treat the woman.

Dr Fakhruddeen Yahaya, the personal physician to the governor of Kano state, Umar Ganduje was present as he identified himself and immediately stabilized the woman.

Following reports that one Pastor Emmanuel of the Grace Dispensation Prophetic Ministry Int'l located in Amukpe Axis of Sapele Delta State was caught among a group of kidnappers and was subsequently shot dead while trying to escape, the Founder and General Overseer, Grace Dispensation Ministries, Apostle Joshua Oribhabor has come out to clarify the report.

In an interview with Sapele Olofofo Unugbragada, the General Overseer Apostle Joshua said Pastor Emmanuel visited his Ministry in one of his programs and he was accepted into the Ministry as a brother in the faith.

According to Apostle Joshua he said; "I don't have other Pastors in my Ministry and I have never ordained any, I don't know where and who ordained Pastor Emmanuel, he do attend our programs and became a friend to the Ministry, but we were never aware of his illicit act and we never recognize him as a pastor.

My Ministry Grace Dispensation Prophetic Ministry Int'l is not and can never be a party to his evil deed, we are informing the general public that we know nothing about it and the name of our Ministry should not be dragged to the mud.."

It will be recalled that a group of armed robbers who were accosted by the Nigeria Police at Jesse, four of the gang members were reported to have fled into the bush while one was killed at the spot.

It was reported also that during the process of investigation one of the gang members who was trying to play smart was immediately gunned down by the police officers, this forced Pastor Emmanuel to attempt escaping, he was later shot and he died on the spot..

There was pandemonium after a police traffic warder clashed with a soldier win mufti at Oja Oba in Ilorin, Kwara State some days ago. The incident caused a huge scene as residents and passersby gathered in their numbers to witness the fracas. Other traffic warders appeared to have joined their colleague during the public fight. The reason for the clash was not revealed at press time.

The Kano State Police command has arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly impersonating the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II online. Report has it that the young man who is very active on social media - pretended to be the Kano monarch on Instagram with 262,000 followers.

The young man was eventually arrested after months after manhunt.

He is currently helping the police with investigation.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, last year disowned social media accounts opened in his name. Sanusi said in a statement tin Kano that he never authorized any person or organisation to open to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or any other social media account nor post any message on his behalf.

He explained that this should put to rest series of calls and enquiries to the office of the Emir on some purported malicious and fake social media accounts in the name of the monarch. He lamented that the fraudsters have remained unrelenting in their nefarious acts.

A woman is currently in pains after she was allegedly battered by her husband and almost killed in the process. According to reports, the husband drove her away after beating her as she ended up in hospital in Asaba, Delta state capital. The man was said to have taken his wife to swear an oath that any man that has sex with her will die while doing it.

Human rights activist, Emeka Ugwuonye, shared the woman's sad story online. Read below;

Below is the report of a representative after visiting the victim:

"(1) I met with the lady today. In fact, she was badly battered by her husband and has been driven away from her matrimonial home, and her children were taken away from her.

"(2) Her story is a very long one. Her husband took her to swear an oat that any man who crosses her will die while having sex with her.

"(3) The husbands sisters has taken over her home and her children are so emaciated due to lack of proper care and feeding.

"(4) She just registered one week ago, and she claimed that she doesn't want to leave her husband, that she still wants to be married to him (I felt bad hearing this from her).

"(5) She said she bought lots of properties with her husband and the man has been selling them without given her a dime for over 2 years now.

Later she wrote as follows: "Sir, please am pleading with you to come to aid.My husband has been threatening me after your Facebook post saying he will bribe his way through the police and human right commission even if he kills me nothing will happen.I am scared for my life and am in hiding.Sir,please help me fight this injustice."

Two Nigerian soldiers were killed and some others were injured following an attack by Boko Haram militants in Borno state. The attack on Monday happened as soldiers were travelling between the towns of Biu and Damboa.

“Our men fell into an ambush by Boko Haram terrorists while on their way to Damboa from Biu,” a military officer told AFP. “They fought the terrorists and we lost two men in the fight.”A military vehicle was also seized in the attack, he added.

A gallant soldier identified as captain Polycarp was killed alongside other soldiers

About eight soldiers are said to be missing, while three others were injure.

The injured soldiers have been moved to a medical facility in Biu for treatment.
