My argument.

It is a classical manifestation of the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.  Those Oxbridge kids and their ilk have been propelled to the top of the pyramid by virtue of birth and social circumstance and will latch on to causes that give them a modicum of self-actualization.  I think the world is better off for having them but you instinctively gama that their priorities would change if they did not have those inherent advantages from the off.

Youre quite right that these kids may just be fighting this cause becos its d fashionable thing to do at the moment,and will prolly get bored when the next more pathetic story of another region/other African country comes along and then the Niger delta becomes yesterday's news.If this is the case,is it not our patriotic duty to take up the cause as this is occuring within our home country? This way,we'll be confident that the future of the the Niger delta is in the hands of people who really care and whose futures are also invested in the advancement of that region(by that i mean we ,the Nigerian youth).
However if this kids are protesting out of genuine concern for the region,then I must say they are Noble and selfless and maybe God is using them to do what Nigerians have refused to do and chosen to ignore.

At approx 17:53pm,at Shoreditch church in London a group of protesters caused traffic,their reason:The Niger delta.A sudden feeling of shame descended on me as i scanned the crowd and was able to count only four black people amongst the sea of white faces.I was even further ashamed when it dawned on me that like some Nigerians(or majority) i should have been on the other side of the bus with protesters rather than going about MY own business not caring about my brodas and sistas in that region of my HOME country while these blue collared Oxbridge bred kids selflessly took it upon themselves to make the world aware of the goings-on .
Now my question is this?
Have we Nigerians (and by this, i am not only referring to those in Diaspora but also those within Nigeria who do not make what is happening there their business)  become so self centred and selfish that as long as our own bread is buttered well,we donot care about the well being of our own country men?

i agree wiv seun,if they can't find a compromise they shud break up sharpish!

ma dad taught ma mum to drive.so everytime shes driving us to skool,he always had to remind her to slow down.ma mum races like mad!chei.

I will not change ma maiden name after marriage oh,simply 4 d fact dat ma dad's name is very posh-sonding.and i rilly wudnt want to change it to some ogbologbo name.

I wud say Nollywood wuz getin worse.Remembering the old films i watched as a lil child in Nigeria and comparing them to the new ones now,i feel ashamed.Who can remember Rattle snake,Living in Bondage and yoruba films like Saworoide.they were the BOMB,i thot things were meant to improve wiv time not depreciate.

I went to a military skul,Airforce Girls Military Skull in jos.first of all i was far from home in another state.and on ma very first day,i got sent d hell out of ma life.i had also managed to piss off an SS2 senior by the end of dat fateful day.And so began ma glorious 6 yrs at SKULL.We nicknamed d skool, GAMUS (up till dis day i cant for the luv of God fathom why).When seniors wanted to talk to us,they sometimes referrerd to us as ''children of God'' and then the threats such as 'God bless u if u do dis or if u dont do dat' and 'are u on drugs'? followed.
Ma skool was double worse becos not only did u hve d seniors to worry about but u also had the military officers and make no bloody mistake about it;THEY WERE DEVILISHLY WICKED!Especially the female officers and they referred to us as JAWS;meanin Junior Air Woman.ma mum later confirmed dat she cudnt recognise mi on the first visiting day she was allowed to see me.Quoting her words,she said 'i jus saw a skeleton wiv white teeth smiling sheepishly and comin towards me' then she realised it was mi.However ma mother is a very tough woman and refused to remove me from d skool despite mine and my fahter's whining and pleading.Even after she heard from me dat d few JS1 students who were allowed to c  their parents were d ones dat had passed some extremely irrelevant military test and training.I mean we werent even allowed to go for mid-term break,then i fell ill cos i thot d whole world wuz against mi.
School became fun tho as we learnt to deliberately piss off seniors and many other things.I was a smiler(wuz always smiling when been spoken to by a senior) so i always got in trouble and i even got punished once wen i was in SS2 for twistin,c me c trouble oooh.We also had the gal-lovers thing and we referred to them as 'CHOCO'.
things started to luk up tho as we progressed in ranks(became senior gals) cos we only had the wicked and pervy officers,the jealous and very annoying teachers and the extremely pervy youth corpers to deal with.I treasure ma time at skool and wudnt trade it for d world,

Its all fine and gud to always listen to ur Parents,however wat they mite want is not always d rite decision for u.Afterall its not ur parents dat will have to live wiv whoever they've chosen 4 u 4 d rest of ur life.i think the best things to follow are ur heart and head.

Na wa for una ooh.Nah everyday some1 dey open mout take curse Nollywood but i dont c any of u complainers doin anything to improve it.Se bi na ur homeland,instead of criticising alone,why not criticise and add ur own lil imput.If we had been doin dis all along.I blive Nollywood cud have progressed greatly.
Those of u dat think d problem is bad directing; make u carry ursef go direct if u think u can do beta.
Those of u who think u can do beta than the actors and actresses in nollywood rite now,go and act.This way,our film industry mite actually become extraordinarily gud(dats if Naija pple fit act,produce or direct de way den dey abuse)
