SportsTen Hag Why Is Casemiro Not Starting For Manchester United? by Charly500(op): 7:13pm On Oct 05, 2022
Am still recovering from the shock that such a talented player chose Manchester United for a new challenge after his exploits with Spanish Giant's Real Madrid, where he won so many titles which some footballers only dream of in their entire careers.

The most shocking of the whole matter now is Manchester United Dutch Manager deciding to bench the brazilian, and finding out he has not even started any of their matches since his move from the spanish capital is even more shocking, it has disrespect written all over it, and the brazilian might even be regretting the move, especially taking into account all what he has achieved, and Qatar 2022 being around the corner makes it even more worrisome for his place in the Brazil squad.

Manchester United might have beaten both arsenal and liverpool, but most of us that carefully watched those games will agree with me that they suffered alot also, you cant disguise your true colours for too long in football, and this we all witnessed at the etihad this past weekend.

Their Dutch Manager should start making decisons for the good of the team, rather being sentimental, eriksen is certainly not a defensive midfielder, fred seems lost most of the time.

The look on Sir Alex Ferguson's face seeing haland ripping his former side apart said it all.

PoliticsCan Vote Buying Ever Be Stopped In Nigeria by Charly500(op):
I was having a discussion with some of my colleagues at work this morning regarding the upcoming presidential election, majority of us are obidient and would love for Peter Obi under the Labour Party to become president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

To be honest, we have suffered alot in this country, especially in this buhari led administration, but I believe we certainly deserve better.

So one of us raised the question of vote buying, if it can ever be stopped especially in a country like nigeria where there is serious hunger in the land, because majority of our politicians have been using this method time and time again, and majority of these elections which it has happened, if not even all have been quite successful for them while using it.

My Colleague informed us that in our State Governorship Election, his wife and himself had agreed to vote for a particular candidate and that they wont collect shi shi from anybody, but he was surprised when he got home, his wife was seen counting money collected, and told him she voted for Godwin Obaseki, instead of Ize Iyamu which they had earlier agreed on.

So we can see there is even division among our own families regarding the issue of vote buying in nigeria, Peter Obi has informed us that he wont share shi shi on election day, and its now left for nigerians resistance to inducement to be tested on that day, as we already know the extent to which PDP and APC can go to on this matter, and we know they are seriously banking on it.

One thing is certain, during this 2023 election we will know if nigerians are ready to resist such inducement in the face of serious hunger or fall to their usual schemes of vote buying.

I would want to think that we have all learnt our lessons by now, after years of suffering and smiling, and we should know that collecting N5,000 or N10,000 will not solve our problems which are just too much, as our system has so far being designed to frustrate the common man.

WE ALL HAVE TO WISE UP ON THIS CRITICAL MATTER OF VOTE BUYING, WE CANT CONTINUE LIKE THIS IN EVERY SINGLE ELECTION

TravelRe: Who Noticed This About Nigerians Who Have Family Members Abroad? by Charly500(m): 1:05pm On Sep 18, 2022
hamouston91:
I noticed that most Nigerians feel so much achievement upon having a family member outside the country. I have seen Nigerians proudly declare the following (just an example tough) :

1. My uncle in Canada

2. My Aunty in UK

3. My Brother in the US

4. My son in Germany

5. My cousin in South Africa

6. My husband is in the United Arab Emirates

7. My daughter in Italy

8. My brother in Malaysia

9. My nephew in India

10. My brother sister uncle daughter son in Kuwait
Etc.
I observe a pride in each of these people, and I realized that it doesn't even matter which country the family resides in, for the homers, they always feel like they won a noble prize by having a family abroad.
Some of these people have families in Indonesia, Malaysia, Israel, Libya, Kuwait, Honduras, Greece etc. And they puff with pride as if it's a life worth achievement.
Others have families in the US, UK, Germany, Canada, France, South Africa, Australia etc, which is still note worthy.

But the Question is; why do most Nigerians count having a family abroad as a big achievement, and even make mockery of their fellow Nigerians who do not have a family member abroad. Or those who refuse to mention that they have families abroad?

Is it a Nigerian thing to behave like that, or is it a global thing, do other countries nationals behave like that?

Your opinion is the back bone of this thread. Thank you.
Very Good Question

There is nothing wrong in travelling for greener pastures especially due to the difficult times being faced in nigeria, and when you take into account the various sacrifices some of these families have put in just for one of them to travel out with the hope that through him or her their family future would be better.

Nowadays whether is a sister or a brother travelling, he or she is sat down and told to remember where he or she is coming from and the sacrifices those over here have made for the trip to be possible, so when things get rosy he or she should remember her family, especially in moving over there or establishing businesses for those that feel that they can be better off in nigeria.

Some families have sold landed properties just to fund their siblings to travel out of nigeria for a better life for themselves and their familes.

Thats when they all come together and agree on it, in some cases some families already know who they would choose to send over there that will remember them all, as among themselves over here in nigeria, there are those who even in nigeria always show uncaring attutude towards their family, so you dont expect such a person to be the first in the list of those to be suggested for such a trip.

The programme has ended, they should clear our backlogs at once or maybe they want to use us to campaign. Let them just extend until Buhari leaves.
Sadiya and buhari should decide on extending the programme for us o, that 30k has really been a blessing in disguise.

PoliticsRe: Governor Ayade Locks Out Civil Servants Over Lateness (Photo) by Charly500(m): 9:18am On Sep 15, 2022
Stupid Governor Ayade, he is still owing several months of arrears of salaries and refused to implement the new minimum wage for workers in cross river state till date.

Some workers in Cross River have been working for the Cross River State Government for more than 5 years now, and they have not still being payrolled by this Ben Ayade Led administration, but he was busy buying presidential form.

Most of the state government workers are just suffering and smiling in nigeria, rather than ayade doing the needful, he is busy behaving like a clown with this his lockout fiasco.
EducationRe: This Picture Will Convince You How Some People Have Completely Given Up On ASUU by Charly500(m): 3:30pm On Sep 14, 2022
All hope has been lost regarding ASUU calling off the strike anytime soon, both sides are still refusing to reach an amicable agreement, as you can not be taken someone to court, if you genuinely want to settle with such a person.

I just pity our students and our education sector in this country.
