PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi was able to convince frenchman Kylianne Mbappe to extend his contract with the parisan club until 2025, and this is coming after so many attempts by the french club to persuade him to change his mind about leaving for Real Madrid.


This is obviously cheering news for the fans of the french giants, especially when you take into account the 200 million euros offered to PSG by Real Madrid, which was rejected by the french club's hierarchy on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2021.


The Frenchman's decision to shun the advances of Florentino Perez's Real madrid was seen by many as a slap in the face, as he ended up signing a new contract with the french giants, after it seemed pratically impossible some few months ago.


From reliable sources, it is believed that the terms of the contract proposed to him was too good for him to turn down, while the money offered by the Qatari owned club certainly played a major role in convincing him to stay.


Aside him getting a huge salary, he will also be recieving a fabulous signing on fee of 130 million euros, and he now gets to be involved in the decision making process of signing of players and other matters regarding the future of the club from now onwards.


However, granting such a young player all these privileges has its own advantages and disadvantages, especially as we know they have alot of players with egos in their dressing room, who might not be too comfortable with all the privileges given to him.


The youngman's talent is undeniable, as can be seen by his performances for both his club and country, but moving to a club in the status of Real Madrid would certainly have taken him to another level.


In conclusion, whether kylianne Mbappe gets another chance of signing for the Madrid based outfit in the future remains to be seen, but as we all know in football, anything is possible.

Despite President Muhammadu Buhari sigining into law the new minimum wage, some state governments have still not domesiticated it in their varous states till date.

The labour movement in nigeria on their part, have so far been pressurizing the defaulting State Governments and they have encountered series of stiff resistance in this regard.

Civil servants in nigeria painfully, are not taken seriously in this country of ours and our government's handling of issues concerning workers welfare has so far been a disaster.

In nigeria, we have cases of workers working for government for several years without being payrolled into the system and they prefer to outsource jobs rather than regularizing the appointments of these casuals.

The most baffling thing about the new minimum wage issue is that it took Government several years due to their footdragging and the continuous persistence from the Nigeria Labour Congress before it was signed into law.

There has so far been partial implementation in most of our states and the arrears even in states that paid, were done haphazardly, while those in other states got nothing till date.

CONCLUSION

The Federal Government look warm attitude in the handling of the welfare of nigerian workers has been quite baffling.

The same manner of approach unfortunately, is been used by our State Governments and this can be seen by their footdragging tactics when dialoguing with labour in such states.

The labour movement in nigeria obviously has to do more in protecting the interest of its members, the common man and the society at large.

Nollywood actors are homeless, suffering and seriously sick is now a reoccurring decimal, the same cant be said about their female counterparts.

I recently went to Cross River State on official duty and found out that some workers have been working for the State Government for over 5years without being payrolled.

Meanwhile, ben ayade was busy buying form for presidency.

Obaseki in Edo State is busy killing all the state owned tertiary institutions under the guise of restructuring. His government is presently owing so many months of arrears of salaries.

College of Education, Ekiadolor is now a federal college and has fully been taken over by the Federal Govenrment. But, the workers under the State College of Education Ekiadolor are being abandoned by the Governor, he didnt deem it fit to even absorb most of them into state minitries.

Most of these Governors dont obey court orders, as they already know anyone who takes them to court will eventually get tired because of the prolong nature of our judicial system.
