rebeccausoro: Thank you for taking your time to answer my questions. As for the question you asked, it is University of Alberta in Edmonton.
For the issue of sponsorship, if my supervisor, who is a Nigerian Professor at the University I gained admission, offers to sponsor or co-sponsor me as a Canadian permanent resident, will it be advantageous to my application? I'm asking this because I have a good rapport with the man and he's even from the same ethnic group as me. If I ask him to support me for official purposes, he will.
Thanks for the tips on budget too. I can sort all those, I believe, before leaving Nigeria. My supervisor will also accommodate me for the first few weeks before I get my own place. If you can dish out the right sponsorship letter for him it will def add to your application. Stating mentorship purposes and also if your research field aligns with his the better |

djkally: I just started my university hunt for Jan intake.. I filled a pre-qualification form for university of Sask as required. I intend to study master in Civil engineering. I hope I'm doing the right thing. Gurus you can guide me through if I'm missing out and also how long will I expect their go ahead mail for admission. Not a dumb question at all Just that it’s a little bit late for Jan intake dats is if you haven’t yet applied just saying cos of visa But with God all things are possible Would advise you though not to put your eggs in one basket try other schools too Since your going fo a research based course you need to mail professors and get their approval To enable beat time and not wait for the pre qualiffication thingy . |

rebeccausoro: Hello House,
I appreciate the work everyone here has been doing. I want to seek some information and I'll appreciate help:
1. I got PhD admission with full funding of over $24,000. The funding covers my tuition plus bi-weekly stipends. Do I still need to show proof of fund at the embassy? Must I have the $10,000 cost of living proof?
2. What is the estimate like for cost of visa, medicals and air flight. What should I budget to finish all the other processes. Could be lesser though or even more
3. I'm asking this third question for a friend. Can a public figure or leader stand as a financial sponsor? 1. International students advisors will always tell you never to rely on cash you haven’t seen so you stil need to show enough cash for the cost of living through a sponsor and additional if your going with kids. 2. I would say approx. half a million depending on on how far you have to go to get documents and which city you will be going to , Also if your booking is done of or within peak period 3. Well very yes as long as he has enough finance to cover expenses then she is good to go I actually feel it may help the vetting process |

1miccza: Sorry please do you know of any school in canada that will accept a 2:2 for a masters in chemical engineering or a pgd and which won't request for an application fee please?? Most universities in Canada will want at least an application fee except your affected by Donald trump’s travel ban , you can try Europe and I also knw a few schools In The US which will waive the fee if you request . So this is what you will do try getting schools mail and put up a convincing mail to the graduate program coordinator see if he / she can sympathize with you. As for the 2.2, if you have work experience in your desired course you can be admitted and also if your last two years of study sums up to a 2.1 then you can also be considered It all depends on the school and most importantly God. God’s speed |

EKUNDAYONLINE: This is a good forum, please my concerns is the tuition the for the shools, quite expensive. do you have to pay instantly before you can be granted visa. I am of the opinion that quality education is not cheap as demonstrated by different study abroad destinations, even averagely by our private universities . It isn’t compulsory to make payment before getting a visa but recommended most times. My advice to you is use cheap schools as your search query and work towards gettting funded . Success! |

Yes to make it more concrete and to prove these funds are accessible to you he can pay some percentage of the fee from there and also you should open a bank account there and hav him transfer the 10,000cad I don’t think it mak sense sending the cash back here when he is there already. Hereissola: Good morning. Accolades to those that contribute in every little way to this post. Trust people are getting results here year in year out.
Kindly educate my ignorance. I have always wanted to further abroad, Canada precisely. Just started working late last year and I am firm in saving to travel out for my education but the problem is, I don't even know the process or the cost. This whole thing gets me confused on what to do first and how to go about it. I know I am meant to go through the post from ab initio but discussions come in and I am lost. I would be glad if anyone can guide me through. Thanks in anticipation. Just relax we were all at this point at some point Much of it would depend on your profile whether your going for a msc or PGD/c First things first get is to get admitted then we can help you with visa requirements Do make sure your intended program shows consistency with your previous degree or shows a proposed career growth to increase your possibilities of a TRV God being with you , you can get a scholarship which would reduce the burden on you . Just believe that’s the . God bless our hustle |

Different institutions have their admission requirements to their individual programs, so you will have to do your bit by doing some research in that aspect also contacting the graduate program coordinator to get a more solid info would definitely clear your doubts.
Judging by my standards you would make an outstanding addition to any graduate program. Let’s get the license before we apply as it is would solidify our application better.
Good luck and God’s speed |
