In the US, most blogs are dedicated to specialized niche and carries content with high integrity. Most bloggers are professional in the fields they blog about. Take for example Perez Hilton's blog, he is a columnist and television personality or Pete Cashmore's Mashable.com which is digital media blog which is in direct touch/contact with industry CEOs and founders of tech-startups.

Most Nigerian blogs are all crowded within a single niche and they are hardly making a living from it. I have worked with several bloggers and one factor I noticed about them is the urge to quickly earn money.

90% of Nigeria blogs are news or gossip blogs. We are yet to move above that.

yes i agree with you that most Nigerian bloggers are rushing to the entertainment niche because Lynda Ikeji made it there, so they want to hurriedly grab thousand of adsense dollars as well. Most of these entertainment blogs are plagiarism personified, no quality no content.

I completely disagree with you @ OP, infact our blogosphere is still nascent with massive opportunity for growth & success. Just take a look at the Indian & U.S blogosphere then you know the true meaning of the word "overcrowded" & yet bloggers are still making it big time!

Too bad...through his actions, he has already heaped curses upon himself & generation yet unborn. Too bad...

Nice post @ OP, these are genuine ways to make money in Nigeria, but it would have been better if some of the ways were explained for easy understanding and practical application.

When you talk about business opportunities in Nigeria, I think that the online business world is still untapped in Nigeria, although a lot of people are aware that it is possible to make money online legitimately but most are confused about how to go about it, hence, very few people are actually earning a living online. I believe that online business is one area that can greatly reduce unemployment in Nigeria, just like it is happening in India.

Nice post @ OP, for sure everyone wants to make money online but am not sure that everyone will be willing to put in the kind of hard work that can actually yield money because people are lazy when it comes to online business. They just want to sleep and wake up to find dollars in their bank account with little or no effort but that will never happen. If you really want to make money online then be ready to work for it.

Am quite sure that this guy is somehow manipulating alexa ranking just like most of these Indian bloggers.eg his bounce rate is above 90% & search visit less than 2%. So where is the traffic from?

There are different ways to make money from blogging, but one fact is that blogging is not a child's play, for you to succeed you need to put in a lot of effort.

There are so many ways to build backlinks, and guest posting is one of such because you can get huge traffic from your SEO link building efforts and you will as well be rewarded with quality backlinks pointing to your site.

Dis is terrible and disgusting, as long as we keep treating dis kind of issues with kid gloves these animals won't stop perpetrating such evil because they are certain of escaping the cold arms of the law. somebody needs to be made a scape goat to deter others.

No buying a domain name is not a guarantee to get an approved adsense account, you must meet very strigent conditions set by Google. If traffic is not a problem for you, then hit the ground running and stop wasting precious time...
