Family › 4 Reasons Why, As A Mother, You Shouldn't Bring A Househelp by chatinent(op): 10:43am On Sep 05, 2017

In most countries, sixty-one percent of married women bring in house helps into their home. There is good in bringing house help to your home, however, there is more harm than good. Let's point out some of the sour part of bringing house helps into your matrimonial home, to perhaps, escape your rightful duties as mother, and inversely, a wife.
.
.
1. Whose kids. Most mothers will use subterfuges that they are the working-class and have less time to care for their children and that was what arose the need for a house help. As a mother, your job should not be a hindrance to your upbringing of a (your) child. If the job becomes too disturbing, find a better one that may spare you time. At least, you may work during school hours or better still, be self employed. These children at tender age need more of mum.
.
.
2. Kids on market. Yes, I liken it to putting your kids for sale and when the best bidder rides by, you will be sorry for yourself. Go into the internet and see what house helps do to their boss' kids and how they ruin the family. So far, they are the ones responsible feeding the kids while you are away, and even your husband, maybe. I wonder, how do you think sb would feel seeing another as superior over her when the keys to unlock superiority over the latter lies awake in her hands?
.
.
3. My husband, your husband. Ha ha, it's not funny but you may already be thinking what I'm thinking; you are away for about nineteen hours in twenty-four hours and your house help is twenty-four hours with the kids and husband. What do you think wud happen when your husband needs you and.., he can't even find you around his every needs? Don't be surprise to return one day to notice that your house help is now the house wife (because that's what you made her) and you, become the house maid.
.
.
4. Who mothers the children and murders the real motherhood. Truth has it that a child's bond to their mother starts from childhood, don't sell it because of a job you could retain when lose but can not recover that bond when unattended to.
.
.
My advice to women is, they should drive steering clear of house helps and build their family as they want. The phrase 'had I known' is usually you knowing and hiding the truth afore now. Be wise, be discreet, be decisive, so you won't be chasing monkeys and lose the bananas.

Education › See Four (4) Words/phrases Misused By Nigerians And Even The Learned Ones. by chatinent(op): 9:41am On Sep 05, 2017
Some words misused by Nigerians and even the learned.
.
Copyright : No part of this should be transmitted to an unknown source without prior consent and allowance by the author or acknowledgement. This was written by Richie of Chatinent .
.
1. And Also.
Sentence example: [s]Go to my house and bring my pen, and also bring my book.[/s]
.
“And also” is redundant; say just “and” or “also.” Using both makes one constructs a bad sentence, or poorly constructed sentence. To attain proficiency in English as language, we must learn to avoid making these types of mistakes.
.
.
2. So therefore.
Sentence example: [s]Adding both will equal two, so therefore, we minus.[/s]
.
When "so" and "therefore" are implemented as conjunctions, a choice must be made between them, not using both adjacent to another.
.
.
3. Insulting and Insultive. People have lampoooned 'insultive' being a word nut really really, it is a word. When sb uses insulting words on you, they are being insultive. However, do use 'insulting.'
.
.
4. You can give me an information. Hello? An information?
You say give me some information or give me a piece of information . Information as a word is an uncountable noun and should be treated as such.

All and sundry are longing to startup an online forum. Yes, it is a business living online and money source too, but, have you all it takes? How and what has made greater website owners suceed?
.
1. Thoughtland. This is the first stage of your journey. Think, think, what really are you focusing on? For instance, Chatinent is for advice. This part should be considered first. If you have decided, now think of naming your forum. Be short and precise in a way somebody will easily remember the name when you tell them.
.
2. Buy a domain name. In fact, this is where all seriousness lies. If you used a subdomain, it may seem unprofessional to your users and onlookers. Buy a domain name like .com, .com.ng, .net, .ng, .org etc. By so doing everyone will surely know you have come to stay. Besides, search engines will top-rank you above sub--domains.
.
3. Choose a forum software. There exist many forum software to choose: SMF, PHPBB, MyBB, IPB among others. You may also use a free host that offer any of the host above. I will advise you don't use Forumotion, they delete forums as they like should you go against a rule, accidentally or not, without minding your content level, and you may never recover it back! There are very few trustworthy free forum host. Some don't even offer database backup so you will never have to leave. The only free host I can suggest is JFH (Jcink Forum Hosting). Mind you, JFH has premium packages you could upgrade to, however, you can always choose to remain free for life.
.
4. Setting your forum with charisma. Set up your forum, create boards, section. Take your time to set it first. Every kid could do this part!

- Stop trying to make your site a clone of another. Yes, never heard this before? Do wonder, why will people relax on your site when they know you are trying to be another which they know already? Dear dear, make your site special so others will want to copy its style.
.
- You cannot start making money initially so stop using deceptive means to bring users. What would you gain to get them and they never return? In place, offer sth. Place moderator jobs with salaries. You must spend to gain here.
- Don't always post copied contents. My dear, stop seeking big contents. Your content count doesn't matter. What matter is what each contains.
- Nobody cares you want to make money. Yes, nobody cares! Unfortunately, you are the only one caring. So, start caring about what your members and viewers care about, not what you think or care. You may say: 'I care about my members' .., my dear, you lie, you only care about how you could make quick money. It doesn't happen that way. Work first, with time you will grow naturally and money starts flooding like forever.
- Create social platforms like pages and groups on social networks about your page and always share your contents to them.

- I didn't say 'submit site to search engines' right? It doesn't matter these days. To search engines will always fetch you by contents.

.
5. Update! Update yourself! Update your members! Update your forum! Update your online earth!
.

"poisonous expressions" Has anyone ever been reported dead for making such expressions or listened to them.
Thanks for your observations and corrections though.
No, no one has been reported dead. It isn't a third-party killer; it kills the speaker alone. It is figuratively drifted. Thanks.

Op, I totally disagree on #1 point.

If penniless is acceptable, so should koboless . We use naira and kobo here not pound and penny.
Some slang are accepted generally while others are not and regarded as grammatical solecisms.

No.5 Is wrong. "Roasted" is a participle not a verb.
Participle can either be present or past. Syntactically, participle can function as adjective or adverb Example
"Spoken English" not "Spoke English"
"Written Literature".

The past participle functions as an adjective. "Roasted chicken", " burnt bread", "boiled egg" are all correct syntactically
Verb forms differ. 'Roast' should only be used referring to meat and food items.
