Crime › IGP Tells Policemen: “ Protect Yourselves Against Attacks” by chatinent(op): 1:01am On Oct 31, 2020
The Inspector - General of Police , Mohammed Adamu , has asked the personnel of the force to protect themselves against attacks.
He said the men and officers have the right to defend themselves in case of physical danger .

The IGP spoke on Friday during an assessment tour of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Abuja, where he also encouraged the operatives who had abandoned the streets for the past five days following the killing of over 20 policemen in the violence that rocked the country.
Adamu alleged that the # EndSARS protesters were out to demoralise the personnel , adding that the government and the Nigeria Police Force would soon roll out packages for the families of the deceased officers.
He stated , “The unity of this country lies in the support that is given to police officers because if you are demoralised , the tendency is for criminals to take over the public space and the country is relying on us to make sure that the public space is not taken over by the criminals . So no amount of provocation, no amount of insult would make us shy away from our responsibilities .

“ Inasmuch as we are aware that the government is behind us ; so , we would encourage you to keep performing your duties . We would encourage you to be professional , to be civic , but if anybody touches you , if anybody comes to assault you , you can also protect yourself.
“ When we talk of human rights, the police are human ; so , the rights of police officers would also be protected . So , we are sending the message that legally , we have the right to protect ourselves . ”

Offpoint1:
When I kneeled down and professed my love to my economics teacher back in S.S. The love note I wrote her was so powerful, she got all emotional and all the class applauded me.
She drew me near to her, kiss on the forehead and said "Honestly, offpoint... I'm move by your words and boldness. You're a bright kid, I would love to be your woman if you were to be in my age group or older... It can't just work out dear. Focus on your studies, you'll find the right woman when the time is right" I left her present, sobbing and crying. She was so emotional and couldn't hold lecture for that day.

I still can't forget about her totally till date.

After that day, half of the girls were throwing themselves at me... But I was an awkwardly quiet kid who doesn't talk to one, I don't go for short or long break. If I ain't reading, I'm drawing super natural creatures.
If this isn't a lie, mah naked bath.

Na wa. So people like you still exist? Its well. I'll grant your wish sir. I already have planned to send stinjoe something before. So, nominate any other person your mind points to and I'll send the token meant for you to the person.

If half of Nigeria could be like you, the whole of Nigeria would have been better.
There are numerous people who need help. Those are the two who spoke up.

What I did was nothing. Yes, I may be in need but he was more needy. I had to. I could manage till Monday but maybe he couldnt.

Anybody with a good conscience will do the same.

I have been there and currently, the level of me being broke is just unbearable. It sounds weird but we just had oil and salt as our dinner even to buy garri is an issue. But, hearing my sweet sister cry of ulcer do shatter my heart and I believe all this will end soon. I can't even boast of a thousand naira in my account. Honestly story long but I want those set of people, including myself to believe that once there is life, there is hope for a better tomorrow and never forget that God's plan for us all are of good and not of evil.
What's wrong with your sister?

Humblesam:
Menh I can't forget that fateful day I had only 50 naira in my entire life and was going to Festac town from Ijesha for an appointment.
I used 30 naira for t/fare hoping I'll be back with good news but the result is a story for another day.
I trekked in the hot sun of Lagos from Festac town down to Ijesha with my mind already spending the last 20 naira on garri, groundnut and probably sugar when I get home after the long trekking but something strange happened.
When I got to Ijesha bus stop, getting ready for the final trekking to my street which is like five kilometers from the bus stop, I saw this blind man with his daughter begging, and when I looked at d man, he looked straight to my eye and was begging for something from me.
Initially when I saw that blind man, I felt very grateful that I was a lucky guy,I felt pity and decided to move on with my 20 naira, I would av given him something but it was the last one on me.
Do you know that I ve to trek back from my street after successfully getting to my house to the bus stop just to give that same 20 naira to that blind man? Because my conscience would not let me rest from that moment I set my eye on the blind man...it was telling me, "you can do better by giving that 20naira to the blind man", I thought it was a joke until I submitted.
After that I saw myself crying unconsciously, trekking back home weak, hungry and without hope, but that's not the end of my story.

The following, someone I d never believed will help me, came to my house and took me to his place of work.... Same day, I was interviewed, same day I got my appointment letter, next day...
I started working in that company and the rest is history.
God dey.
