It seems you are a lady because a guy would have understand my point.

Baby girl, please I am not against you getting married early neither am I discouraging your man from proposing marriage to you.

I am only advicing our men to regard their carrier and making money as their primary ambition in life . This will make life easier for their future wives. Marriage should be a secondary ambition.

My carrier for instance is writing. I saved my salary for four years and used it to publish my first book in London. Today, the royalty from that book has made me very wealthy.

I can decide today to marry five wives and have twenty kids! I have the money .

If I had used that savings to rush into marriage and waste it in hosting a wedding party, I would have still be a salary earner today.

My wife would have been nagging every day complaining of poverty.

I invested my first savings into my carrier and God used it to bless me. The seed germinated and took me to the top.

This is what I mean by " Carrier first before marriage".
Offpoint. Pls what is "carrier"?

pls tell me, are there no married men and women in Africa and across who are married and successful? are the successful people in the world today unmarried?

Since you know what christian principles is, can you pls tell me what they are?

If you aren't confused, how you will vote for a Tinubu who is a Muslim under the condition that he chooses a Christian running mate but will not vote for him because he chose a Muslim running mate?

If you feel Tinubu is good enough to earn your vote, why then are you complaining that he picked a Muslim as his running mate?

How did Tinubu deny a Christian the right to succeed a Muslim?

You keep missing the point. Marriage is wonderful , every man on Earth suppose to get married one day and have his own family.

However the problem is young men and women have turn marriage to their greatest ambition on Earth. No man or woman with that mentality has achieve greatness on Earth.

How can a young man of 30 yrs earning a salary of less than #100,000 start thinking of marriage. Can't he delay the thought of marriage for few more years and try acquiring more education that will improve his salary or even use his savings to start a business.

He will eventually get married when he becomes financially stronger and has laid a solid foundation for his carrier.

If we see marriage as the greatest achievement on Earth then we are the same as the amajiris in the north who can sell all their inheritance at an early age so as to marry a young girl of their dream.
I haven't missed any point. You didn't answer the questions. Which one is "carrier"?

Two friends , James and Paul, graduated from the University of Lagos same year. They did not get their dream jobs after school hence they both began teaching in a private school in Lagos.

James was still determine to get his dream job in an oil company. Hence he saved his salary for five years and proceed for a PG course related to Oil and Gas. He passed the course and later got his dream job.

Mainwhile, Paul who graduated with a better grade at UniLag got married while teaching at the Private School. He spent a lot of money in organizing a wedding party that meets his wife taste.

Paul also had to rent a better apartment .
After the marriage, his wife's two young siblings moved into his apartment. Even though his wife was paying her siblings school fees, Paul was responsible for their feedings and other needs. Nine months later, his wife gave birth giving him the main responsibility.

Hence by the time, James enrolled for the PG course, Paul was interested but had no money. He has to kill the dream to meet his family responsibility.

I hope you can see how marriage before fulfilling your purpose on Earth can prevent you from fulfilling your purpose on Earth.

Marriage is an achievement only for the ladies. It gives them the opportunity to dump their problems on their husbands.

You see even a jobless lady running her mouth anyhow for her husband who has to go out even under the rain to make money lest hell would be let loose by jobless madam.

If not for the love of children, many men would not get married and even those who mistakenly marry would run out in a short while. But children are something else! Once they are there a man is greatly motivated to work harder and make more money to keep them taken care of and happy.

People like to deceive themselves that marriage is about companionship, but that is never the case. Many men would rather prefer the company of friends than that of women.
Marriage is for things that you say it isn't for. The fact that certain people use it the wrong way doesn't change it's purpose. That's why the late Myles Munroe said "when purpose is unknown, abuse is inevitable". Don't blame marriage for not working. Blame people for not knowing the purpose of marriage. Someone like you doesn't understand it's purpose. By the time you get in and start failing, you will start blaming the marriage

The issue is that in Africa where majority of the young men see marriage as an achievement, they spend their youthful days thinking and working for marriage.
Hence once they get married, they feel fulfilled and have no future ambition.

Mainwhile, their counterparts in Europe and America who are not passionate about marriage are daily thinking of how they will break new grounds in business and science.
For them, marriage can even be neglected if it will become a hindrance to their carrier.

Out of these two categories of youths, which did you think will be more successful in this world?
Which one is "carrier"?

Marriage is an achievement anywhere in the world. There are many successful married men and women in Africa and in the west so I don't know where you got your theory from that marriage hinders professional success

you sound like a pained person. Don't deceive yourself bro. Marriage is an achievement. It distinguishes MEN from Boys. A married man of 25 years with a kid is more respected by nature and the society and more honourable to God than a 40yrs old man still jumping from one skirt to the other shying away from responsibility. Get that into your fragile skull.
Marriage is an achievement but it doesn't distinguish men from boys. There's no hard and fast rule to it. Are there no married men who don't give a dime for family upkeep? Are you telling me that there are no married men jumping from one skirt to another? Was the late Ataga not married when he was sleeping with chidinma, a school girl young enough to be his daughter? so he was "responsible" and respected by God because he was married?Keep all this responsibility bullshiit for one side as if marriage automatically confers on a man or woman the status of a god.

Na marry you marry, don't come and be disturbing those who are not married. Just because you marry today does not mean you are better than those who are not married.

Please do not let your friend wedding oppress you, some married people are suffering and smiling. They will not tell you that the wife they marry na Jezebel associate or a runs girl or the husband they marry is a womanizer or an abusive man. They will do one big wedding today, then 9 months or 3 years later they divorce.

Personally I enjoy weddings because I can eat some correct food.

If your people are asking when are you getting married? Tell them when you do not want marry a Jezebel or a wicked or selfish man. Because after the wedding, you are on your own.

Na so they arrange one woman from village for me to marry, I just dey laugh and ignore. I enjoyed my bachelorhood, please let me enjoy my life. I do not want problem.

Marry when you want marry, do not let anyone pressure you to marry or who you will marry.
Your heading and your write up are saying two different things. If you are concerned the way some married folks like to flaunt the fact that they are married or the fact everyone keeps asking "are you married" and putting unnecessary pressure on you, that's understandable. But to say marriage isn't an achievement, you didn't give any point to support that claim

Since you put it like that, why don't you ask Tinubu why he wants people to vote for him on the condition that Yoruba lokan or Emi lokan.

Like I said, I can vote Tinubu if he were not playing the divisive politics of religion, but I won't be a party to pall bearing for Christian presidency or Vice Presidency. If we agree that power should be rotated, rotation is based on need for inclusion. Why then the exclusion of Christians??

Islamization is not just by Tinubu saying I'll not do this. Those of us that have heard from those before us and are still experiencing what has been happening in Northern Nigeria for decades now, we know all this plans.
This current Government has shown us enough that should be visible to the blind and loud enough for the deaf. Look at all the appointments made. How the Government fueled the killings in Plateau, Southerner Kaduna, Benue and Taraba. We all know who the killers are, their religion, target and believe system. Or should we talk of Shettima and his BH venture?
The fact on ground is that the Government is supporting them. When they attack even is you call the Army, there won't be a quick response even though most a times they're been informed of movements and suspicious planned attacks. And funny enough the Government is always mum.
I see people giving funny reasons simply because maybe their tribes Man is the one contesting or maybe because of ignorance.
But if you've lost relatives, friends and properties you'll understand.
Tinubu is having a balanced family by Him. Why can't he give Nigeria same. Muslim Husband, Christian Wife and Muslim president Christian VP.
