Metallurgist: @checked86 it's true that government should provided job to the people, an ideally 15% is the max in any conducive environment. unfortunately this is not the case in nija. but as the author said no matter the situation hardworking ppl do find a niche and make good money and the reality is bitching about this government ain't gonna change a thing. but hard work does I unearth his previous comment because the OP wanted to exonerate Buhari and his government. In his comment as I quoted, he complained about Akpkabio (then state governor) for not providing employment for the Akwa ibomites. If he could blame state government for unemployment, nothing stops him from blaming the government. BTW, the youths I see everyday are not lazy. We always say the youths to hide from providing facts. Look at your friends and tell me that none of them is not striving to survive. I have seen many young people, both girls and boys, going extra mile to earn a living. Government should provide a level playing ground by making power a bit stable so you will see the magical youths. |

thomasthomas: When I read comments from people like you I see why Akwa Ibom will never grow beyond road construction and painting of primary schools. You said 'government does not have any business doing business', please let me ask, 'why did Akpabio build Cinema in Uyo and for what purpose? The five star 15 storey hotel in Uyo and 3 star 12 storey hotel in Ikot Ekpene is for what? Are those not government businesses?
You talked about government recouping monies invested in a company in 5 - 10years, now let me ask you, 'how many years will it take the government to recoup the money invested in the 'first in Africa' stadium that nobody knows the contract sum.
At times we want to bamboozle others with talk. If Akpabio invested the same amount of money he invested in the stadium, tropicana and those hotels to revamp those ailing industries Akwa Ibom youths would have been gainfully employed.
For your information, Akwa Ibom is one of the worst hit states with unemployment, go check out the facts but ironically, it receives the highest allocation in the country.
Akpabio's achievement is just media hype, with over one trillion naira in eight years, you have just few dualised roads, few primary school renovation, and few urban roads, yet you say he has done excellently well.
The problem I have with people like you is that you do not know how to quantify money. If I may ask, do you know what 500million or 1bn can do in terms of infrastructure?
Kindly publish his budget from 2007 - 2015, lets do a thorough check with what is on ground.
I'm not a fan of a cluesless, greedy, trickster and election rigger.
You can make him your role model! I can not believe that somebody that said this would still come up to open a topic to abuse Nigerian youths in defence of his master. It is government job to provide jobs for its people. Buhari is not doing well. I hate it when people blame the youths for the problem they know nothing about. The company I work with advertised for job and I was surprised to see people that turned up. 78 people came for the interview while we needed 7 persons. The youths didn't start blaming government for unemployment under Buhari's regime, it has always been the tradition; and I enjoin you to absorb the heat. |

Who stole the money and in whose regime? Because the last time I opened my history notebook, I read that Nigerians started seeing for their own affair as far as 1960. I took the trouble to finish the article and I couldn't see where they mention the perpetrator, leaving the zombies with the assumption that the stolen fund was masterminded during GEj's time. APC's government should learn to come straight. |
