HealthRe: Plz Help Me Interpret This Sperm Analysis by ChelseaDr(m): 3:10pm On Jun 21, 2020
SirMichael1:
Coming back to modify

modified: You abstained for 4days between ejaculation, your spermcount per milli-litre is 131million of spermatozoa. After the 4days, sample of your sperm was taken and found to be...

SPERMCOUNT: 131MIL/ML. In a ml of your sperm, you have 131mil spermcount.

VOLUME: 1.5ml. This means you ejaculated 1 and 1/2 of a ml which is 196.5mil spermatozoa. Now is this fertile or non fertile? You get to find out below.

MOTILITY: 45 Percent active. 45 percent of your spermatozoa is active and fertile. That's 88.4mil fertile and active cells.

15 percent sluggish motile: that's 29.5mil of sperm cells that's thrifting between being redundant and active sperm cell. If you ask me, i'll say these cells are useless in trying to fertilize an overy. It can only go far enough to be killed by the uterian wall.

40 percent non mortile: Of the 196.5mil of spermatozoa, 78.6ml is redundant, that is non active and can't swim up to either ovary.

VISCOSITY: Watery. In lay man term, this signifies the thickness of your ejaculation which is watery.

Morphology which is 80percent normal: 80 percent size, shape and maturity (which isn't limited to the characteristic feature of the head and tail of a spermatozoa) of your 1.5ml ejaculation which is 196.5ml is normal. That means, 157.2mil (over 1ml) is in good shape. Thing is, the good news is that a very high percentage is in good shape, size, e.t.c and this 157.2mil consists of active, sluggish and in-active sperm cells. We can't really tell each percentages and so if I'm to assume and say all non motile + all sluggish motile which is 108.1mil exists in this 80% morphology index (which is never possibile), that will be 51.1ml active sperm cell which is still above the average for low sperm count of 40mil.

I hope I didn't eventually confuse you though?

SO IN ESSENCE, YOU'RE DOING ALRIGHT AND CAN FERTILIZE AN EGG.
Good one there SirMichael1, he should also be advised to go see the doctor that requested for that investigation. Apt analysis

Good day nlanders please pardon my typo errors

a sister of mine is dying of fibroid
and she is in need of a genuine cure not the 419 types please if anyone has an idea or knows an injections that one needs to kill this badly sickness permanently please and please help is the matter of life and death
thanks
The only permanent cure for fibroid is to remove the womb.

For those who have not finished giving birth to their children, or those who are not yet married, the type of surgery will be to remove the fibroid and leave the womb. But it may regrow after some years.

There is no herbal cure, no supplement will dry Tue fibroid.

Take her to Tue hospital and see a gynecologist.

Thanks doctor. I stay in shomolu, can you recommend a specialist around?
I don't stay in Lagos, I only visit. But I would have suggested you go to LUTH or LASUTH but for the current covid-19 pandemic, we tend to reduce contact as much as possible, telemedicine is the way to go now unless in cases of emergency where someone must be attended to by a doctor.

You can send me a mail, I will advise you on what to do next (without charges anyway)

My wife is medically 42 weeks pregnant and there is no sign of labour and we are worried. What could be the problem. We are worried.
Did she actually do ante natal care in a hospital? I don't think any hospital will allow a woman to carry pregnancy yo 42 weeks without intervention or a clear-cut advice on the next line of action.

If your wife has not had operation (CS) before and if she does not have any reason that will affect her vaginal delivery, then I'm sure they would have advised her to have induction of labour, otherwise she should go for CS.

The reason is because at 42 weeks and beyond, the function of the placenta reduces and the baby's chance of death inside the womb increases each day.

Go back to the hospital and let them have your baby delivered please. Today.

Hi doctor,
I am currently having a milky discharge from both nipples. It started last week Thursday. Anytime I massage my breast and then press the nipple, the milky discharge comes out, usually droplets(too scared to find out if it can be more) and this has never happened to me before.
I have been trying to conceive for 2 years now with no success. The only thing I noticed was that my period was 5 days late(started 4th of June instead of 31st of May. I noticed because I log my period on a app and it has never been late and it's regular). Already had 2 blood tests done and both came back negative so I have ruled out pregnancy as a probable cause. Went to our family doctor and he is treating me for an infection but I would finish the regimen on Saturday but there is no difference in the discharge from my nipples. I don't feel any pain on my breast and the only changes I noticed is what I described above. What could possibly be wrong and causing the discharge? (it's multi ductal). Thanks
You have what we call hyperprolactinaemia, it is due to excess of a hormone we call prolactin in your body. The hormone is responsible for producing breast milk. The level gets so high towards child birth, breastfeeding, certain drugs and a tumour growing in a portion of the brain called pituitary gland.

This is not due to any infection please, stop wasting your money in the wrong place. It is not every doctor that understands this, see a specialist.

The condition affects ovulation and may disorganize one's menstrual period and ultimately affects the ability to conceive.

The good news is that it can be treated 100%. Meet a gynecologist who will evaluate you and give the right medication. We don't prescribe drugs in a public domain like this, the tendency to abuse is very high. Good luck.

Please doctor, is it true that you see your period exactly 14 days after ovulation?
This is very correct. Periods come out exactly 14 days from ovulation. The issue however, is that one might not be able to accurately predict when ovulation actually takes place except by tracking the follicles (eggs).

HealthRe: NARD Nationwide Strike: FG Threatens Actions Against NARD by ChelseaDr(m): 12:02pm On Jun 17, 2020
Picardor2:
An OPEN LETTER To The Honorable Minister Of Health Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria

Dear Honorable Minister,

I bring you very warm greetings from my family and all men of good will who wish you well in office and who hope that you would leave your feet marks on the sands of time in the Federal Ministry of Health when this job comes to an end.

I am writing to you through this medium, not only as a concerned Medical Doctor ( an Elder for that matter) but also because I am a Past President of NARD - the Association currently on strike.

I do not want to bore you with the history of the Nigerian health sector and how little progress we have made since 1960 because I know that in your exalted position as the Honorable Minister of Health, you are already conversant with that history.

I also do not want to bore you with the struggles embarked by the NARD since 1982 to better the lot of Nigerian Health Sector and the healthcare manpower.

What has ignited the fire in me to write you is the pronouncement made on National Television by your very good self threatening to sack all and any of the striking Medical Doctors if they do not go back to work by Wednesday the 17th day of June 2020.

Honorable Minister
The path you are threading now is one which many of your predecessors trod in times past and it did not yield any fruits at all.

It's an old weather beaten path which has neither generated good will nor solved any problems, rather it had always created more problems.

I am certainly sure that the Honorable Minister knows very well that NARD is the fulcrum of health care service delivery in Nigeria and whatever will affect its membership would surely derail any plans at improving the health care sector which your good office has envisaged in this your time.

And so, if NARD is on strike, it only means that she has explored all avenues at peacefully reconciling the differences between her and the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari and as the Honorable Minister of Health, your responsibility is to protect the interest of the Government and the Health care workers. So when you issue a threat of sack on the Doctors, it is akin to reading the riot act and that is only practicable in a Military setting. We are practicing a civilian democracy (I hope we are) and such approaches at commanding and threatening are tools that will always fail because they negate the rights of the individuals to express themselves freely.

COVID - 19 happened on Nigeria and the Government entered into an MOU to ensure that Medical Doctors and other health care workers are adequately protected. Information at my disposal has it that up until now, the hazard allowance is yet to be paid (3 months after the MOU was signed), the PPE is yet to be made universally available and accessible, the Life and accident insurance scheme is yet to be activated and the people talked and shouted so much that their voices became hoarse and then they decided to withdraw their services as that is the only tool they have; what do we have as the first reaction - a threat to sack!

As I write, more than 150 Medical Doctors excluding other health care workers have tested positive to the corona virus and quite a number has died.

Honorable Minister
You do not beat a child and ask him not to cry

As an Elder, I took a long look at the matter and decided to write you to offer a piece of advise which though is completely unsolicited for. And I am doing this because my people say that "An Elder does not sit at home and watch a she-goat deliver with ropes round her neck"

I want to advise that the Honorable Minister kindly withdraws the threat to sack Resident Doctors, engage them in a dialogue through extraordinary means and find a quick solution to the reasons why they went on strike in the first place.

That to me is what can help this matter at this stage

I thank you for reading and do kindly accept the assurances of my highest regards

Dr. Jerry - the First Oguzie: JP

This is apt. I do hope the Hon Minister will have time to read this.

HealthNARD STRIKE! Health Minister Directs CMDs And MDs To Open Attendance Register by ChelseaDr(op):
Following the meeting of NARD and government officials convened by the Hon Minister of labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige, which ended in a deadlock, the Hon Minister of Health has directed the Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors to open attendance registers in their respective hospitals from 7am 16th June 2020.

This is to note those doctors that will be coming to work and those that won't.

After the first phase of the meeting, they went on recess but the NARD President did not show up when the meeting reconvened, citing insincerity on the side of the government.

The question is this, is the government trying to sack the striking medical doctors or what, only time will tell.

Does the government want to tow the same path they towed in the past? Time is a gentleman, he is very patient.

Grind potash and little seeds of beans and mix with palm oil and apply on it regularly, it will soften it and the pus should be obvious within days... My own even took months sef....nothing to worry about...I underwent serious pain to the extent that I couldn't write exam then...just take your drugs and do the needful
Boil in the armpit no be the same with boil in the scrotum o, boil pass boil. Moreover, ordinary boil takes days to heal after drainage not months.

What the op has may not just be boil as we see it, let him go to the hospital as he has been advised
