jasontrigga: No bro I’m not doubting if the virus is real or not I believe it’s real But my concern is the figure
And No those health workers are free from convid19 because the stay and interact with their families .
My house is not far from the hospital (testing center) Yea, the figures are actually very true, infact they will increase with time, you know there is high level of community transmission in Kano now. The health workers at home don't have covid-19, no. They were excused from work by AKTH because they probably have one health challenge or the other so the hospital excused all such workers. You know that covid-19 is more fatal to people with other health conditions so the hospital thought it wise to excuse those ones since the virus has been detected among some of its staff. The figures are correct and will be rising, just keep educating the people to wash their hand and practise physical distancing and other safety measures, cheers!! |

jasontrigga: Pls I need clarification From someone more informed
I’m in doubt about this result from NCDC
I’m currently based in Kano And Kano has been on lockeddown for the past two weeks Honestly to some level there’s compliance
Now my question is If Kano has been on lockeddown Who are those people going for the convid-19 test? Where are the getting the samples from ?
Most of the health workers I know are currently at home , who are those running the tests?
And lastly I drove past the teaching hospital where the test center is , haven’t seen any crowd or anybody sitting and waiting to be tested
Assuming the test is only conducted for the rich How many rich men will voluntarily go to the hospital and queue for it (for this Nigeria)
To me that figure is crazy Except there’s more I don’t know I am wondering which part of the hospital you drove past.... Bros the virus is as real as the air we breathe... The health workers at home are probably those that were asked to self-isolate, or those that were excused from work because they have comorbid medical conditions or those on annual leave.. Bro please don't join those believing those conspiracy theories because Covid-19 is REAL!! |

xpool: How would you feel if Nigeria is in a war with a another country and soldiers decide to go on strike? Doctors can go on strike anytime they want, but certainly not this time. All they agitate for always is their emolument, no love and passion for the job. Yes, I don't think any right thinking Nigeria will ever support the government on any issue, because they are useless. But I am beginning to realise that we the masses are more useless and wicked than the politicians, because new politicians who were part of the masses, get into office and, yet no change.
Doctors going on strike this time, if they are not carefully the masses may begin to target them and their families. Everybody is angry now and looking for who to take it out on The soldiers fighting boko haram have been protesting, General Adeniyi was recently redeployed. You don't send a child to go catch that stinking rat without providing him water to wash his hands. Doctors like Soldiers and other essential service providers are humans too with families. Has it ever bordered you that in most of our hospitals today, a patient has to provide gloves for him/her to be examined. Would you rather our health workers go attend to covid-19 patients with their bare hands, that will be suicidal. Health workers don't have immunity against covid-19. The government at all levels should be held responsible for the mess in our health sector, not the doctors, not the health workers. Again, I refuse to be associated with the "we" that are useless. Lastly, there is no emergency in pandemic. |

xpool: They are just scared of corona virus, na run dem don run so. They are not scared of covid-19, they are just asking for what is due to them...salary. Even the Bible stated that a worker deserves his wages. These people have families too. Have you ever gone to kill a rattle snake with your bare hands, that is exactly what you expect these doctors to do, to confront covid-19 without personal protective equipments, haba guy, think about it. Do you know in many hospitals today, patients still buy gloves for them to be seen? Tell the government to do the needful, if you are close to them. |
Health › Re: Why A Strike By Resident Doctors In ESUT, Enugu Is Illegal by ChelseaDr(m): 6:44am On Apr 26, 2020 |
There is no hospital called university college teaching hospital Enugu, Park lane.
I'm sure the law the writer quoted also has a section that provides for the welfare of these essential workers.
Again, the writer appears to be a paid agent of the government of Enugu state because this story is one-sided. Why did the doctors embark on strike in the first place?.
Does the op know that doctors and other health workers are being paid N5000 as hazard allowance and they have not been complaining and even as small as this amount is, some government officials including FG still don't think it is wise to enhance health workers welfare, at least at this time without being pushed.
The ARD in Park lane must have been swallowing the bitter pills but decided not to, this time around.
Health workers are humans too, prone to covid-19 infection, how does anyone expect them to work without protection.
The chaos happening in Kano today is because the members of the state task force against covid-19 are battling to be alive after testing positive, the ncdc lab in Kano is shot down because some staff tested positive and somebody is talking about one law and cap...
That is nonsense and ingredients |

ChybuzzDD: That's a very stupid and senseless post from you. What's your definition of a "reasonable doctor" when dealing with prescription of over-the-counter medications? It's your type that has killed and messed up the medical profession in Nigeria by shamelessly diagnosing every case as malaria and typhoid. Patients routinely by panadol and diclofenac(cataflam) from pharmacy shops, even without your prescriptions. So, how does recommending it for him become 'unreasonable' when you guys have been unable to diagnose Cluster headache down there in Nigeria, and has been wrongly treating him for malaria/typhoid?? Can't you see I didn't prescribe Sumatriptan dosage, as it's a prescription drug and requires physical evaluation of patient's parameters prior to prescription? Thanks |

cole01: Good morning...... I've been having issues with severe headache's for the past 5 years now.The issue with this kind of headache is it occurs occasionally like twice a year but it's always my worst times. The thing I find different of this headache and other's is that it occurs on only the left side on my head, makes my listening very poor,my eyes are always red and my neck stiff and continues for more than 24 hours then subsides when I force myself to sleep but immediately I wake up it continues and what I find strange is that I don't feel sick in anyway at all just the headache..... As of last night it woke me up from sleep ,I've tried different treatments but anytime I go to the hospital it's always typhoid am been diagnosed for without even feeling sick except for the headache.... No temperature or anything. There was a time around last year I had to defer a semester because it started just before my exams. Please I need help because typing this alone has been one of the hardest things to do because the left side of my head is on fire Op please follow thorpido's advice. No reasonable doctor will come to a public domain and be dishing out prescriptions, be wise!! |

NCDC is not wrong, the number confirmed in each state remains part of the total number of confirmed cases in the country irrespective of whether they have been discharged or are dead.
So there is no misrepresentation on the side of the ncdc. |
