Results tripping out from various polling units in Rivers state especially in Khana, Gokana, Tai, Eleme, Oyigbo, Abua Odual, Bonny, Akuku Toro, Degema, Ahoada, Ikwerre, Opobo Local government Areas indicates that the candidate of the AAC is leading gov Nyesom wike with a wide margin.

Some PDP party agents claim that soldiers locked up all PDP chieftain in the various areas in Rivers state. Some were also bitter that the Gov didn't release funds while the AAC candidate who is backed by the APC is sharing money and buying votes secretly.

Some other PDP agents claim that wike played into the hands of APC by sponsoring judgements that disqualified APC from presenting candidates in today's election and as such that the former governor Rotimi Amaechi unleashed federal might in Rivers state to back the candidate of the AAC to become next governor of Rivers state.

PDP Governorship Candidate Atunwa Withdraws From Kwara Governorship Contest.

In view of the recent political development and outcome of the last Saturday election, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Rasaq Atunwa, has announced his withdrawal from the coming election.

In a statement signed by the Kwara PDP Campaign Directorate, "the withdrawal is in regards to the wishes of Kwarans as widely expressed last Saturday."

"After extensive consultations with leaders and members of our party, we have concluded that it is no longer necessary to participate in the ongoing transitional process. The outcome of the last Saturday's exercise had clearly indicated the choice of Kwarans. As a people and a party that had benefited from this choice in the past, it is our unanimous desire to respect the people's choice.

"As a result of this, we urge Kwarans to go out enmass to vote for candidates of their choices and wish the incoming government well."

We observed with dismay that since the inception of Secondus as the People's Democratic Party chairman, our great party has lost focus under his watch.

We are afraid that should Secondus continue as our great party chairman, our party is bound to lose more states during the governorship election.
