dayokanu: Who wants to do business with benfica here and buy Gaitan? Benfica with their yahooyahoo deals

Remember how mmuch Di maria, Coentrao etc were priced

Gaitan isnt worth more than 12m
Na 2day Benfica dey sell overpriced players to Mugu clubs?
Add the likes of David Luiz and Ramirez to that list too. Oscar Cardozo might soon join that list too.

ddippset: first off, real madrid is the most star studded team in world football. secondly ; if ronaldo is not a striker then what exactly is he? a winger? lol. a winger who is always lurking around the 16 yard box! a winger who is always upfront ahead of higuain and benze! winger indeed. is it because he has got 8 goals?
When I tell una say difference between Quality and Quantity dey, una go dey yarn opata. Una don see am abi?

I'm sure you all saw how the so called "Madrid Midfield stars" were thoroughly outplayed by bayern tonight. Do u see that ever happening to Xavi,Busquets and Iniesta(might ass well add thiago to that lis)? I did not think so.

Star studded my foot. But then again I guess if you call overpriced players stars then hell yeah every team in the world has them.

How many times has Messi being spotted lurking around the 16 yard box? How many times have I seen him way ahead of any other player wearing a Barca shirt? Does that make him a No9?

So in summary Gary Neville agreed with me that Ashley Young took a dive. Case Closed!!!

coogar: your naivety is beclouding your judgement.
i take it that you have never seen a barcelona-chelsea tie before.
search through the archives. the only team barcelona hate playing is chelsea.
So we both essentially agree that the Real winner here is Bayern.
Bayern can basically rest their entire first team without a care in the world and have them fresh for the return trip. Madrid can't.

You dudes are being unfair to GOMISS.

Or is not the same Gomiss that was recently crowned the World's Best Striker?

coogar: and it hasn't occurred to you this is the reason jose took off his attacking outlets for marcelo, granero, etc?
you said madrid face barca this weekend.....you mean barca are free till then or their own game against chelsea
won't take a bigger toll on them than it would do real madrid? this one-sided punditry amazes me.
Out of the two sides, Madrid will definitely feel the effects of exhaustion more. I bet Madrid would have done more chasing tonight than Barca would do over both games(Chelsea and Madrid) plus the Jet Flag factor would count against them. Woulda copped more Air miles than any other team.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: UCL: Bayern Munich Vs Real Madrid (2 - 1) On 17th April 2012 by chic2pimp(m): 10:03pm On Apr 17, 2012
toba: Nope. Bayern should have been flawless if not for robben, schweini and boateng that made errors
You were definitely the better of the two sides tonight but i'd rather had faced any of you two sides.

Would Madrid or Bayern have dominated ball possesion like Barca? Fat chance in Heaven.
Is any of the two sides defence any better than Barca's? Hell No

All we would have had to do is keep a tight leash on Robbery and let Ibra,Boateng and co wreck havoc in your penalty area
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: UCL: Bayern Munich Vs Real Madrid (2 - 1) On 17th April 2012 by chic2pimp(m): 9:54pm On Apr 17, 2012
coogar: that gomez goal didn't change anything.
your defence is stupid for conceding that goal.

1-0 scoreline is better than 2-1.
madrid would definitely score at the bernebau and they would
score plenty there. if you can score more than a goal there, then
you've got hope but knowing mourinho. . . .it's not happening!
I disagree with you there. I really do see Bayern progressing for two reasons

1) Madrid face Barca at the Nou Camp this weekend and somehow feel that tie would take it's toll both physically and emotionally(which could only get worse if they so happen to loose that game). Bayern on the other hand have all but given up on their title chase.

2) I don't see this Madrid side keeping a clean sheet. Not when they have to come out and chase the game and also with the Little Matter of Robbery to contend with

Having just watched both sides tonight I must say Milan were very unlucky in that they had Barca. Would have really fancied our chances against either of these sides.

honeric01: So now Ronaldo is no longer a striker just because he has 8 goals? is messi a striker? and you claim messi's team is stacked with what? i hope you know how stacked Bayern is right? look for another excuse, with all THE MONEY madrid spent on their team, you still claim they have no stacked team? oga o.. who else do you need in the madrid team? romario, bebeto, pele, maradonna and stepp blatter? huh
Dude Ronaldo is not a No9. No amount of whailing and gnashing of teeth can change that.

There is a huge difference between being stacked quality wise and stacked quantity wise. One side is packed full of worldcup winners,European championship winners and European cup winners whilst the other not so much. Pray tell, which side do u think is the better of the two?

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chic2pimp(m): 5:28pm On Apr 16, 2012
coogar: that's the thing. you are taking a look at the image posted but was that the pace at which football is played.
of course, the real play was 5 times faster than that. a player turning with pace impeded would definitely fall.
how many times have we seen goalies trying to take a shot n falling on their arses - were they diving too?
the pace at which football is played these days makes it difficult for players to stand on their feet.

look at the foot of the defender. he brought it out, there was contact.
the law did not say contact had to cause fracture. if the contact impedes the progress of the attacker
then its a foul. a foul in the box is a penalty. the point is - whether ashley young dived or not, it's
a penalty. if he didn't dive, the referee would not give the decision.
Dude I watched it on T.v whilst also listening to the commentary on Radio(T.v volume turned down) and I along with the Radio dude knew Young dived as soon as he went down. It was as clear as daylight. It's not that the pace makes it difficult for players to stay on their feet, must of them simply choose not to. They've perfected the act of conning refs.

Even Fergie has admitted Young exaggerated the fall. Eventhough he fell short of admitting he dived(but which Manager has ever admitted his players dived?)

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=2&ved=0CC8QFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mirrorfootball.co.uk%2Fnews%2FManchester-United-Alex-Ferguson-admitted-Ashley-Young-went-looking-for-the-penalty-article891155.html&ei=z0KMT87PLsqw0AXR3rnKCQ&usg=AFQjCNETOje81bOriKxMeSE0fmov6xhdXg&sig2=UNqCD0ZSU1OQktcJ8wryKg

As I said before the contact was minimal to say the least and in no way did it impede Young. He chose to cheat.
Ofcourse He would not have given the decision if it was not a dive. After all Refs never give that kind of decisions, right?

honeric01: For the amount he's worth, he's not even in the 1st 3, so tell me, how is that justified?
What do you mean by "He is not in the first three"? Cuz as far as I know only Messi and Gomez have scored more goals with 14 and 11 respectively. Mind u 8 is not that bad considering he is not a striker like Gomez or is his team as stacked as Messi's

Granted the second goal should not have stood and Cech perhaps should have been sent off but I somehow still don't see Tottenham winninng. Not with the horrendous form they've shown off late. Also with Drogba in the sort of mood he was in yesterday. There I say it had Toress started yesterday the outcome might have been different.

coogar:

so young dived or your eyes were deceiving you?
there was contact, the contact impeded the progress of ashley young and yes he made the most of it, but who wouldn't.

against wigan, welbeck was held back - the tool decided to carry on. referee did not give a penalty which might still
cost man utd the title at the end.

defender stuck a leg out. he was too slow to put it back, he caught ashley's foot. ashley went down.
stonewall penalty!
Are you kidding me? Take a good look at the image you posted again and tell me how that is not a dive?. The contact was minimal to say the least but you'll think he had been shot with the way he went down. Also the way he stretched his left leg was nothing short of a joke. Stonewall penalty?.... More like Cheat.

Atleast Danny had more of a case.
