PoliticsRe: There Is Sinister Agenda By IPOB To Provoke Soldiers Into Killing - Presidency by chiddyj: 10:31am On Sep 15, 2017
if you ask me, buhari was poor and tactless with this puthon dance nonsense. if namdi kanu has failed his bail conditions, use d dss and pick him up! the fact that he used violent speeches to awake the fact that the political class has kept the country in bondage is one thing I believe is to our advantage. the army violating human rights of these caught ipob members doesnt send a gud message. neither does the atack of journalists in the state! the only area in Abia where the army can do their show of force is at Eze Kanus street? this shows that they had a hidden agenda, if u ask me! the S.E is peaceful. the death and manhandling of some hausas in the state is an after effect of this pyyhon dance! its effect is also being felt in jos and could move on to other states in the north! why do we like to blow things out of proportion?! no UN is going to come to anyone's aid, ask Myanmar and Syria! tribal divide isnot going away anytime soon so why nt restructure along those lines and give it a decade to know if it will propel us into development?! tecno fones have improved, kia vehicles have too even rat poison has why cant we do so as a nation?!
I understand the agitations of the S.E and the reason the S.W is quiet. the middle belt have started counting the costs of the new geopolitical zone as it doesnt favor their development!
anyways when a president calls a region 5% that didnt vote for him, I wonder how he will come to campaign in 2019.....jonathan, call him thief and looter all u will, still tried to buy over the northern voters with projects! isnt that what it is supposed to be about? pick out he gud of the previous administration and push them forward! not calling everythin by gej bad and in he long run revert to some of these policies. that is why the govt looks clueless and might lose steam in 2019 if care isnt taken,.
kanu is a troublemaker, yes bt he has got us thinking about new ways to dev naija and we really need to do so b4 there are 2 times the number of politicians than available positions

That has been the issue we've been facing, forgeting the cause of an incident but roped with the symptom. People will just wake up and say they kill but they would never tell what make that person killed and that's why we've been having recurring incidences on every elections even at grassroots. If there is any one that have suffered hate speech most in this country is Buhari. The PDP was able to use the media against him since 2003 till date but it could not gel in 2015 because of the resolve to oust Jonathan then. They used AIT, NTA, and some other media outlets but it doesn't workout.
Well, there are two sides to a coin, they are always fixed to see the top and let go the bottom. Until we see scrutinise both the top and bottom, there will be no headway.
it didnt work because the tinubu was using tvc and some social media guys to paint him as a saint! I am still to hear of tinubu making noise as he used to now buhari has relegated him to insignificance! thats what u get for trusting a person like buhari

What a hateful bunch, truly occupying themselves with their favourite activity - spreading more hate and misinformation.

See how they dug up an old incident, rearranged the story to elicit the highest emotional response against their main focus of hate and wrath - PMB for winning the elections.

What were the circumstances surrounding the killings: what caused it, who carried it out and how could an incident carried out in far away Bauchi be linked to Buhari is another thing that most of the reports and those propagating it have always evaded - except to resort to innuendos.

What these hate merchants keep forgetting is that the govt in power at the time would have welcomed any reason to have arrested Buhari, as the then head of the opposition; in fact it did, it set up a committee which thoroughly investigated the matter and completely exonerated Buhari from any complicity or culpability.

Unfortunately, his detractors are aware that their are many gullible ppl; many among them also predisposed to hating the president and are therefore exploiting this opportunity to disparage the president.

Sadly, the mainstream media seem to be aiding and abetting these ppl in propagating such falsehood e.g. the Dog and the Baboon and lately the 97% and 5% statements are good examples of how the president is being deliberately misquoted and misrepresented.

I challenge anyone to prove otherwise
I followed ur comment until u brought up the 97% nd 5% matter that has been overflogged and over analysed even on foreign media! pls as for that, there is no lies there! buhari said and was misquoted the same way arewa youths were misquoted and their quit notice raised a hate song within days of notice being published! stil yet to hear any group in the Sw or SE call for other tribes to exit their region

it's not about bridging roads and the 2nd niger bridge! after all Jonathan didnt do much in the South east! its about having the feeling of being included in the scheme of things in the country! the systematic withdrawal of southerners for key positions, the 5% and 97%divisive statement, the fact that he is even yet to come to a state in the old eastern region points to something and the "arrest namdi kanu for calling out northern leaders bt allow arewa youth to threaten a whole tribe" nonsense!the dude(mr. presido) doesnt consider the east as important cos he lost votes there and also because of an older enmity of which his generation has passed to the new one we have now! let them continue! the disappointment in the govt has gotten to epic proportions!

that was a dick move by gtb. even if the settle out of court and innoson imbibes their debt as a partner or co owner of the bank, it will teach business outifts to think befpre they act! BTW the money is quite large and could drill a hole that would signify the beginning of the end of gtb!

Christianity EtcRe: Ahiara Crisis; Protesters Storm Imo Catholic Church, Reject Pope's Decison. PICS by chiddyj:
Stage 1: Bishops' Recommendations
Every bishop may submit to the archbishop of his province the names of priests he thinks would make good bishops. Prior to the regular province meeting (usually annually), the archbishop distributes to all the bishops of the province the names and curricula vitae of priests which have been submitted to him. Following a discussion among the bishops at the province meeting, a vote is taken on which names to recommend. The number of names on this provincial list may vary. The vote tally, together with the minutes of the meeting, is then forwarded by the archbishop to the apostolic nuncio. The list is also submitted to the board

Stage 2: The Apostolic Nuncio
By overseeing the final list of names forwarded to Rome, the apostolic nuncio plays a decisive role in the selection process. He not only gathers facts and information about potential candidates, but also interprets that information for the Congregation.

Great weight is given to the nuncio's recommendations, but it is important to remember that his "gatekeeper" role, however, does not mean that his recommendations are always followed.

Stage 3: Congregation for Bishops
Once all the documentation from the nuncio is complete and in order, and the prefect approves, the process moves forward. If the appointment involves a bishop who is being promoted or transferred, the matter may be handled by the prefect and the staff. If, however, the appointment is of a priest to the episcopacy, the full congregation is ordinarily involved.
A cardinal relator is chosen to summarize the documentation and make a report to the full congregation, which generally meets twice a month on Thursdays. After hearing the cardinal relator's report, the congregation discusses the appointment and then votes. The Congregation may follow the recommendation of the nuncio, chose another of the candidates on the terna, or even ask that another terna be prepared.
Stage 4: The Pope Decides
At a private audience with the pope, usually on a Saturday, the prefect of the Congregation for Bishops presents the recommendations of the Congregation to the Holy Father. A few days later, the pope informs the Congregation of his decision. The Congregation then notifies the nuncio, who in turn contacts the candidate and asks if he will accept. If the answer is "yes," the Vatican is notified and a date is set for the announcement.
It often takes six to eight months—and sometimes longer—from the time a diocese becomes vacant until a new bishop is appointed

I believe that there may be marginalisation of the mbaise priests bt they r going abou5 it the wrong way! the pope has decided on he okpalaeke fellowand they were nt happy about it! the Pope also heard their delegate out and gave a ruling! the priests should apologise as they were instructed and go abou their divine duties. I have a feeling that politics was involved in d choosing of the bishop bt that is human nature for u- sentimental! I wish they had called on the bishop and submitted the credentials of worthy Imo indigenous priest that qualify for the position for scrutiny and screening for the time Okpalaeke resigns to ensure that the pope made an informed decision! though I feel he will be biased by the reaction of these priests!

as for those people who cannot keep the discuss pilloried to the topic I am disappointed in what nairaland has become-an avenue to expose your stupidity and ethnic bigotry! all this afonja this, Igbo dat and zombie then! that's why we cannot move forward! Aside Lagos state who were unable to get some funding from the Fed govt for a few yrs, I dont think any other state has had such treatment. I want to use this opportunity to state that tribe and religion has made Nigeria a failed state. if the only reason why the president will assure fed presence in ur state is for votes then a better nigeria is still farther than the most skeptical hopes! we cant even be selfish enoigh to protect our citizens from foreigners?! the hausa believes he has more kinship with nigeriens than with an edo man for instance! the national integrity is dead and buried! how can we progress when all this madness is nt showing any sign of abating!

States like Anambra are exporting farm products. Is it that the northern states are too weak that they need the federal government again for their own exports?
by brother I dey wonder the same thing ooo. Anambra is doing it without fed. govt. Why cant northern states do it on their own?! Its unfortunate for states that provide most of the food eaten in the country to need such help! FG want throway money for there or to make life easier for themselves without bearing the risk! na wa forthis bubu regime o
PoliticsRe: How Do Crimes Like Blowing-Up Pipelines Develop The Niger Delta? by chiddyj: 5:58pm On Oct 27, 2016
maclatunji:
It is a straightforward question. Militants and their supporters will celebrate destroying government infrastructure in the NigerDelta I imagine. However, away from the mindless jubilation, how do pipeline bombing, attacking and kidnapping oil workers bring about growth and development in the region?

One would think the region would be the most developed by now if it were an effective strategy going by the number of attacks that have occurred in the region since 1999.

Feel free to explain if you have answers to the questions. Don't come here to boast about blowing up things, I have already identified that as mindless, what I want to know is how it is an effective development strategy.
truth be told it doesnt work well as a development strategy bt looking back at the yrs of neglect in the hinter regions of the niger delta and nt areas like warri and ph, its a case 9f being backed up against the wall! I keep asking questions why do FG fight the host communities of IOCs to ensure steady flow of cash to the central govt? why do IOCs move their hq to lag? dont tell me security issues cos dat is a big fat lie! they created this consuming fire bt run away from it! dont u think that these communities deserve a quota, be it in form of dvelopmental projects or employment? I ve seen the suffering of these people and I ve worked with them. There are millions of other tribes working in plum jobs in shell, total and chevron in ph nd warri! so much that its commonplace to hear yoruba in the hallway! am nt saying its bad bt r u now saying that the people of the SS dont go to school? also venture into nnpc in abj, in tower a from the 6th flow na only hausa u go dey hear there! if the hq is in the state giving them 80% of their resource, employing these people give them a stake in these organisations..the mass layoff in the oil sector no touch them much as most SS work midlevel and low level cadre jobs!
Going by my initial asesment, blowing stuff up iant the answer bt when the entire country feels the pinch they have felt since, then u can sit in the comfort of ur home wih internet probably provided for by the exploration that has damaged livelihoods and make ur analogy!
PoliticsRe: Why We Take Responsibility Of Nigeria's Poor Economic Situation - APC by chiddyj: 10:23am On Oct 25, 2016
QuotaSystem:
Who else did you expect to take responsibility if not the party in power? Is it the now regional opposition party named PDP that wailers expected to fix the mess that APC met?

Yes APC is responsible for fixing PDP's mess. The point that can never be denied is that the current economic mess was triggered, caused and directly brought upon by the PDP's failure to save during our period of plenty and failure to diversify with our excess crude income which would have served as a buffer when prices eventually crashed under the APC administration.

This is simply stating undeniable facts and not passing the buck.
and now u ve hidden all the apc policy mistakes to get a hold of the sinking economy under the pdp trigger forgetting tgat 60percent of apc were at one time in pdp....bris leave matter for mattias! bubu flunked in his ovrrzealous bid to show up naija as being corrupt! he forgot that you cannot burn down ur house to checkmate rat infestation! simple
