A colleague of mine at work who served at Awka during his nysc said the average Igbo man seems not to be grateful. He mentioned all the good and great things Obiano is doing in Anambra most especially in the schools. The internet facilities, solar power, heavy duty generators tracking of performance of teachers. He later on said, if he were to be a governor in the North Central or west they will just tell him to continue. It was then I got to realize that most at times, the problem of the average Igbo is that they feel they are better off than others so they even take their governors likely and the poor performing ones they will not push out only to go other people land and say we have our right, whereas charity begins at home, go home and support your governors and develop the east stop shouting we developed Yoruba land, it is foolishness
See how you generalised about a whole state based on the opinion of a corps member who will spend just 12months in the state?!?! EponOjuku:
Let me tell you guys a true story.

Last year, during the Ipob protests in Aba, the protesters at Ariaria attempted burning down the police station opposite the Ariaria market. The policemen called for reinforcements and a Mopol team was sent to the station.

That Mopol team was headed by an Igbo man and when he got there, instead of him to ask his men to quell the situation, he started making calls and delaying. His men were getting impatient but he asked them to stand down and kept making calls to different people, speaking Igbo language.

Eventually, he pulled his men out and that station was burnt with a policeman killed. In fact, when the Ipob protesters killed the policeman, they were rejoicing until it was revealed later on that the late policeman was from Imo state and also igbo. That's when they became sober. If he wasn't Igbo, they wouldn't have cared. The death of the policeman was here on Nairaland and many Igbos supporting Ipob were applauding it here on Nairaland.

The truth is that for most Igbos, primordial sentiments overcome logic and in political decisions, you can't joke with the loyalty of your security chiefs. Election is coming and you want an Igbo IGP? These guys think Buhari is daft.

Hope you guys remember that Evans the Igbo kidnapper was once arrested in Imo and was released by the Igbo CP before he was arrested again in Lagos.

Until we get Igbos like Dora Akunyili in the Police, Igbos can forget being the IGP. The position of IGP is not anyone's right, it's a political rank. Show commitment and loyalty to the Government of the day and you would get much more than IGP position.

The police force won't be run the way you guys ran Diamond Bank. Paschal Dozie the father of that lmbecile called Uzoma Dozie can explain better to you in Igbo.

Igbos don't deserve anything and they won't get anything till they align. They can cry all they want, but that is the bitter truth. Sensible Igbos have said this same thing I'm saying but the vast majority of policically daft ones shout them down.

Please, try to read this thread below and see the comments of Igbos. Thereafter, judge if they deserve anything.

PoliticsRe: "The Death Of Cross River State Happened In 2007” – Donald Duke by chiddyj: 9:33am On Sep 19, 2018
ukoshadi:
That Donald Duke’s Gaffe on Ayade

Former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke was recently in the news for a very wrong reason when he referred to professor Ayade as an undertaker who had come to bury the state. This gaffe left many wondering whether the erstwhile governor really made that statement. But since it was an open statement and he has never denied it, the question then is, what could have prompted such a gaffe from a man many thought, despite his many glaring failures as the state governor, was at least respectable for the very reason that he had refuse to interfere in the affairs of succeeding administrations.

His very choice of the word, “Undertaker”, is absurd as it implies that the state was dead by the time Ayade came in.

But if this be the case then, happenings in the state since 2015 have proved that Ayade has managed to raise up the dead instead of burying it. Then Ayade deserves kudos rather than knocks from all and sundry, least from a man who plunged the state into debt through economically unviable projects executed at inflated costs. It was his debts that could have crippled the state that Ayade’s government is paying now at 1.5 billion naira a month.

Objective comparison of Duke’s and Ayade’s administration reveals a yawning gap. Putting the two on scale, it would take at least hundred times of Duke’s achievements to balance up with Ayade. Firstly, Donald Duke was governor at a time when the state was still reaping fortune from the over seventy oil wells which were later given to Akwa Ibom State via a Supreme Court judgment. This was as a result of political shortsightedness of Duke who failed to see the potential danger ahead.

The obudu cattle ranch and Tinapa projects of Duke are of no economic impact on the common man, instead they are drain pipes on the state’s meager revenue.

In the area of Agriculture, Duke also failed woefully as the plantation system he met were in shambles by the time he left office.

His administration concentrated huge resources on tourism which was under social services heading in his budget planning process.

This perhaps is a reflection of his flippant character and his natural inclination to funfair to the detriment of real development.

On the contrary, Ayade has delivered in three years and from nothing the most spectacular performance of any governor in the history of Nigeria.

His industrialization projects including the Garment Factory, Calabar Pharmacy, The Cotton Farm, Ogoja Rice Mill and a host of many others show a mind serious about the development of the state. Well-thought out and meticulously executed projects which have direct bearing on the economy of the citizenry are hallmark of Ayade’s government.

Infrastructures have witnessed unprecedented attention under Ayade touching the home of the erstwhile governor in particular. Welfare of the people is another area where Senator Ayade has performed brilliantly.

Civil servants in the state as well as the general citizenry will attest to this. Salaries are being paid as at when due. Ayade runs an inclusive government that empowers thousands financially.

Unlike Ayade, Duke sold all the assets of the state like the liaison office in Lagos, metropolitan hotel, all the state's estates and government houses in state housing .

In addition, he sold the state's doctors quarters ,all government houses in the federal housing estate and government land.

While Ayade is building assets for the state and expanding agriculture with several revolution in the areas of palm, cocoa rice, banana and yellow maize.

Ayade is establishing industries in the state to ensure a solid future and has improved human capital development of the state.

Ayade has also brought innovations to curbing crime and criminality in the state by adopting hi-tech security approach in the state and has created massive youth employment for the teeming young population in the state unlike Duke.

Ayade has further shown he is a true leader as he is not bias as regards location of projects.

Most of his major and key projects are not located in his senatorial district as Duke's senatorial district are the greatest beneficiary of most of Ayade's projects.

But the question still lingers, why would Duke commit such a public blunder? This question is assumes more importance when one recollects that the whole world has been celebrating Professor Ayade as the best thing to ever happen to governance. A more recent testimony is the public acclaim for Ayade by the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP, which lauded his leadership style and quality. Why would Duke then not be afraid of swimming against the tide of public opinion?

The answer lies in the fact that Duke knows that at the pace Ayade is going he will be totally erased from the political consciousness of Cross Riverians soon.

Under Duke the budget process was incremental budgeting otherwise known as one item budget which means yearly increase of the budget eg under Duke tourism had the highest allocation and it was captured under social services rather than economic.

Duke budget was not ambitious and was not committed to industrialization rather about creating infrastructure to boost tourism .

He didn't require much, he made the situation worst by internal borrowing at commercial rate, resulting to leaving the state indebted to the tune of 98 billion naira which he left behind which became due for collection in 2007, leaving a time bomb for Liyel lmoke where 1.5billion naira was been deducted monthly from the state account to service the loan .

In addition, Duke still collected Ecowas loan for the Tinapa project at 18billion naira, after which the state lost bakassi and its 76 oil wells.

For that singular action by Governor Duke, Ayade is still paying for that loan till date .

Imoke also paid part of it.The loans collected by Duke is responsible why the present government of Governor Ayade is operating under budget deficit where 1.5billion naira is deducted monthly to service the loan.

In agricultural sector, where Governor Ayade is currently making huge impact, with his banana, cocoa, rice and yellow maize projects, Duke was a massive failure as all his projects in that areas never made head way.

His biggest presence in the agricultural sector was his pineapple project that couldn't see the light of the day.

Governor Duke met a plantation economy, rather than sustain and improve on it he couldn't handle it as they all failed.

Duke has a lot of Gratitude to show to Ayade, as he brought him back to political relevance in the state, after his self styled political exile.

Governor Duke 7 years in office cannot be compared to Ayade's 3years as he waited till one year to leaving office before most of projects were crystallised .

But in the case of Ayade under 3years most of his projects are adding values to the lives of Cross Riverians already.

On the state's reserved fund, Governor Duke left one billion in the fund and when he was leaving power, influenced the passage of a very selfish law that nobody should touch the money till 2023 when he knows power will return to back to his senatorial district but the house of assembly in their wisdom and in the interest of the state amended the law to ensure some of the funds could be used for certain interventions.

Such interventions resulted to some projects like IMT ugep, CRUTECH medical college okuku campus,CRUTECH auditorium, and 3 nursing schools across the state.

Unlike Duke, when Governor Imoke left office he was able to save 5billion in the reserved fund for the state .

The huge loan incurred by Duke has today made it very difficult for the state to borrow and governor Duke is the only governor in the state who enjoyed federal government guarantee for his loans.

The idea for the reserved fund is saving for the future.

Governor Ayade believes in prosperity agenda for cross river state, he is an intellectual deep Person , an intellectual with an eye for the future showing in all his budgets .

The budget deficit that he is paying today were as a result of Duke's action .

It is important at this stage to know that You don't plan according to your pocket, the Tinapa project was bigger than the budget of cross river under Duke .

The debts he left was bigger than the state despite the deficit, Ayade is managing the internal deficit by bringing a lot of intellectual intervention which have today delivered garment factory, rice city, tooth tip factory, cocoa factory, calapharm, ogoja rice mill, agricultural revolution with the banana plantation, yellow maize, and cotton e.t.c.

These were projects Duke's incremental budget cannot handled.

In 7years his achievement in office cannot be compared to Ayade's 3years .

To this end, Governor Ayade has learnt from his failures because of his huge debt incurred for the state, today the state cannot borrow.

Duke was the only Governor that had guarantee from federal government for loans and he did commercial bank rate putting the state in further financial challenges.

If Liyel Imoke that was the political pathfinder learns to respect Duke ,he should learn to respect Liyel and Ayade.
Imagine that duke's projects were continued and incoming governors dialed back on their own projects by 30 percent...the development strides will still b there and those duke projects will still b alive....it should be about the state and nt about personal legacy....Ayade is trying bt he wasn't insulted by duke because he pointed out that Ayade was dealt a bad hand

FOREIGN TRAINED GRADUATES
The process begins with the evaluation of credentials and other related documents i.e. International passport.

After the evaluation of credentials the foreign trained graduate is then registered and this is physically done at the NYSC directorate headquarters, Abuja. It is at the point of registration that the classification of who to be called-up or who to be exempted; is determined.

Certificates of Exemption are therefore produced for those exempted from service.

Such Certificates of Exemption for foreign graduates are to be collected at the NYSC directorate headquarters at the stipulated time communicated.

Please note:

Collection of Certificate of Exemption is grouped under the three batches of the service year, depending on the date of registration. This equally would be communicated to exempted graduates at the point of registration.

Collection of Certificate of Exemption is strictly with identification such as International passport and the bearer MUST BE PHYSICALLY PRESENT.

In accordance with the National Youth Service Corps Decree 1993 section 2 subsection (1) it is stipulated that;

"With effect from 1st August, 1985, a person shall NOT be called upon to serve in the service corps if, at the date of graduation or obtaining his diploma or other professional qualification" :

He is over the age of thirty (30) years

He has served in the Armed Forces of the Federation or the Nigeria Police Force for a period of more than nine months; or

He is a member of staff of any of the following:

The Nigerian Security Organization or

The State Security Service, or

The National Intelligence Agency or

The Defence Intelligence Service

He has been conferred with any National Honour.

These categories of persons are therefore exempted from service and issued with the Certificates of Exemption

Read Duke's statement carefully. You observe the statement: 'against the clamour'... That is the hallmark of democracy, a leader's ability to read the flow of public opinion and respond appropriately in their interest.

There is no one that knows it all. And that is why democracy puts the burden of governance in the hands of the people. In a democracy public opinion counts. It puts you on the throne and it should sustain you.

A call by the public to broaden the ethnicity of the security apparatus is credible, tangible and foresighted. It represents a clamour for change in the way things have been done. It a defacto call for restructuring.

It so unfortunate that supporters of Mr. President's move roll out history of the same failed systems in previous administrations to justify it. And then quarrel with those who say nothing indeed has changed.... So sad.

Truth be told!

Buhari's achievements:

More stable power supply,in more areas(Highest power generation and transmission in the over 100 years of Nigeria's amalgamation!)
Most aggressive WAR against corruption
Decisive Implementation of TSA
Reduced rice import Bill
Completed and on going rail projects
Fiscal and monetary discipline, resulting in $40b external reserve, despite crash in oil price, which averaged $100 for 16 years!!!!
Highest stock market capitalisation(N15tr) in 8years
Most aggressive federal road construction, in decades
A saner petrol subsidy regime

Oil price crash brought hardship to Nigerians ,and the inevitable petrol price increase, not Buhari.

16 years of APC will be better than 16 years of PDP.

Yes ,because it is a new government,it is expected to womble and fumble to the promise land.

It is sheer insanity, to compare 2year plus performance, with 16year performance!

It is not yet time to change government,Nigeria let us be patient, for good governance to fully manifest.
most aggressive road construction that is located in which regions?!
high stock capitalization is nt as a result of any policy traceable to PMB
completed railroad( from GEJ) that was already 90% complete?! I give him the new railway heading to his northern region
reduced rice import bill which rice is coming I to the country through Cameroon on flying boats?! abeg talk something else! if rice still pulls through our borders then its stil d same story!
implementation of tsa I give pmb! even though it makes ease of doing business harder
aggressive war on corruption that is cebtered on the opposition?! that is no hange from the corruption war of obasanjo! beat my enemies into submission!
I think the power sector improvement is one of the points u can raise and I will agree with u
so u see, stop forming that pmb is doing great- he isnt! the security issue in the middle belt is enoigh to swing votes against him if the ss and se vote against buhari! how can a president keep mute about the lives of his citizens being thrown away in cold blood? !
it is the indecisiveness of his that has pushed this bloodshed this far as if he wants the fulani herdsmen to either equal the score of their losses or surpass them in human lives before he swings into action! between them an ipob, I would rather hae an empty vessel making noise and protesting bt never kill to herdsmen that kill their host and nothing happens! same thing when the country was heading into recession without ministers for 6months, those are indices u should look into that obviously made us suffer more! if pmb likes let him save more billions for naija, if one doesnt feel safe from herdsmen then it is the fault of the head of state.

As defined by the Black’s Law Dictionary, a surety is “a person who is primarily liable for paying another’s debt or performing another’s obligation…”, the concept has also been categorised into a broader and narrow sense viz; ‘a surety, in the broad sense, is one who is liable for the debt or obligation of another, whether primarily or secondarily, conditionally or unconditionally...’ A surety in the narrow sense is one who is liable in form primarily on the debt or obligation of another,” Laurence P. Simpson, Handbook on the Law of Suretyship 6, 8-9 (1950).
In the Nigerian legal system, an accused is hardly granted bail without a surety in criminal proceedings due to the high tendency of accused persons jumping bail. By the provision of Section 345 of the Criminal Procedure Code, before any person is released on bail, he shall execute a bond for the sum of money as the officer in charge of the police station or court thinks sufficient on condition that such person shall attend at the time and place mentioned in the bond and shall continue so to attend until otherwise directed by the court and if he is released on bail, the sureties shall execute the same or another bond or other bonds containing conditions to the same effect i.e assuring the court that the accused shall always be present for his trial.
Section 355 of the Criminal Procedure Code provides that, “when a person is bound by any bond to appear before a court does not so appear, the court may issue a warrant for his arrest”. A careful perusal of the definition of surety viz-a-vis the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code would show that were an accused person released on bail does not appear at his trial, the next person the court would look at is his/her surety, who would come to court and explain the whereabouts of the accused or forfeit his bond and were the court deems fit, be committed to prison if he cannot explain the whereabouts of the accused.
A young wig should not place himself in such an unhealthy setting.
A situation may arise where a client’s relative has been in police custody for weeks and a young wig is called upon to go and secure the release of the suspect, on getting to the station, the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) gives a condition that due to the gravity of the offense the young wig must counter sign the bail bond. Considering the pressure from the family of the suspect because of the number of days spent behind bars and from his law firm to get the job done, the young wig might feel tempted to sign the bail bond; by the way Nigeria Police (who is your friend) has assured the young wig that he is not a surety, just counter signing the bail bond.
As a young wig don’t let such pressure deceive you into digging a trap with your own hands, please don’t stand surety or counter sign any bail bond.
We have seen lawyers standing trial as accused persons because they stood surety for an accused in the past, sometimes the lawyer-client relationship between them terminates and the lawyer is still bound by the bail bond since he has not discharged himself as a surety to the accused.

copied from thisday!

unless the Semator can prove that the Nigerian govt, who is also d aggrieved party in the lawsuit, had a hand in pushing NK to abscond or "disappear", those bail bonds must be certified to surety!
pls let us discuss with an educated or enlightened mind. I had to browse about surety and nigeria legal system to weigh this issue without coming across as ignorant to a lawyer or biased to the unenlightened! google is ur friend! and also prevent ursef from getting into such ugly situations!

Self imposed exile for not supporting the ineffectual buffoon? What is wrong with some of you? See, if you truly have a conscience and there is still a little bit of shame left in you, you should cover your face in shame or take the self exile recommendation for supporting and still supporting GEJ after all the revelations of massive corruption that took place under him. Most of you who still abuse those who refused to support Jonathan in 2015 are the real danger to our democracy.

The right to support a candidate is an inalienable right in a democracy. When a government had performed woefully, you vote that government out and try another one. The ritual of voting government in and out continues until things begin to get better with time. That is why election takes place every four years.

Instead of attacking people who didn't support your buffoon hero in 2015, start working for your choice candidate ahead of 2019 so that you won't come here in 2022 and still be attacking people.
unfortunately u didn't address the issues that the buhari administration has raised! leave the small talk, chitchat and asides! is it right for a president that has handed over reigns of power to stil be wielding same said power from a sick bed in London? why was kachikwu prevented from seeing his senior minister, if buhari held onto d post of minister of petroluem, after handing over presidency? is it buhari or osibanjo, as d acting president, dat is meant to sign those contracts? is the nnpc tenders board now less than a pta organisation? the nnpc appointment and the oil contracts didnt follow due process and when such things are politicised, we lose our way! #myownopinion

It did not start today, buhari can never change:

Between 1983 and 1985, Peter Onu of Nigeria was Acting Secretary-General of the OAU. At the 1985 Summit in Addis Ababa, statesmen like Julius Nyerere, President of Tanzania, lobbied for his election as substantive Secretary-General. However, there was a major stumbling block to Peter Onu’s candidature: his Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, was campaigning against him. Buhari claimed: “This generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country than Nigeria.” But when the crunch came, his allegiance to Nigeria disappeared. In the election of the OAU Secretary-General in 1985, Buhari preferred a man from Niger instead of Nigeria. He secured the election of Ide Oumarou, a Fulani man from Niger; as opposed to an Igbo man from Nigeria. By so doing, Buhari became the first and only Head of State in the history of modern international relations to vote against his country in favour of his tribe... -

Govt is saddled with so much problems, we have to secure our vehicles. Install trackers and kill switches, buy vehicle brands that arent popular.
Most of the stolen cars in lagos end up in aba and onitsha, buying used cars in these locations as well as neigboring states is a fatal mistake.
Level of criminality there is astronomical.
who in his right mind, as a criminal, will sell his loot in the same state?! alot of vehicles dat come into lagos from other states sold as naija used could be stolen too! a friend lost his car in Owerri and d car was located in Benin all clean and ready for sale! so dont come and push criminality to these cities as this is a typical naija problem
all in all, buyers beware! the country no get central data base of stolen cars that's why dis continues to b a problem

The quit notice was necessary. It was actually a wake up call and it worked. When it was issued, we saw how igbos were shouting on top of their voices that they are Nigerians, they weren't going anywhere. We saw igbo chiefs all going to kaduna to beg. Even ohaneze that supports ipob was running from pillar to pillar to beg. It was after the quit notice that igbo men came out to condemn ipob and nnamdi kanu.
just listen to urself! it worked!? whether legal or illegal u dont care, just about the result! did u also stand up to ask for their arrest or te same measure meted out to Namdi Kanu to b given to them? a pat in the wrist for arewa youths but a full blow innthe face for ipob?!
incase una madness start I dont believe in ipob and the rubbish they spew bt the law should be the law and not selective justice

FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM.

I believe 2 awards should be given to this rogue
1st,for his stupidity
2nd,for his crass, undiluted, unvarnished stupidity in case the 1st is contentious

Is the struggle for Igbos about states? It is about devolution of powers and true fiscal federalism where all states can develop at its pace.
This failure was governor of Abia state for 8years,and made the state the HQs of "egusi" pyramid where commissioners and aides, came to peel egusi at his mother's feet.He turned the state to another bloodbath.Gave his mother the title of Elder Mrs,Her Excellency and all worth not,as traditional rulers struggled to handover titles to her or risk losing their seats.
This same psycophant was traitor-in-chief to Ekwueme in 1998 at the Jos Convention, and now preach oneness of Ndigbo.
This school dropout from University of Maiduguri whose only achievement was buying his certificate from ABSU stole Abia blind. What did he do?Complains of buying houses abroad, yet he owns a mansion and chains of businesses in S/Africa.
This hypocrite whose only achievement was making all members of his family, commissioners and aides as well as appointing an awaiting-convict as his successor who is now a "Sin-ator" and chairman on the committee of dumbness.
You all come here to abuse NK whose(only crime to me was constituting parallel security services)of abusing the elders. Who are the elders? These ones?
Or the dark-googling one in Anambra who is meeting scientists to bring up people from Antarctica to come and see his state
Or the weeping prophet in Enugu, who in the midst of deaths around him is busy still thinking of Chime or Ekweremadu
Or the one who stole Ebonyi blind with his partnership with anyim Pius anyim and getting free rides to the UN and shaking oyibo hands
Or the akpu-headed stooge in Abia who left classroom for classroom(this time under a multiple-award winning failure, his predecessor)
Imo state,no way....I won't talk.
This one is making God consider apologizing to Lucifer because he has surpassed the latter in ignominy.
The elders are the sellouts, shout afonja or aboki from 2d till tomorrow,we know buhari,he is a bigot.I have seen good, bad and ugly people across all tribes. There is freedom of speech, let anyone say what makes him comfortable..what about our Governors?today OUK is in APC,a saint and is now a ventriloquist.
Buhari said we should follow constituted channels because he knows these efulefus will sell us again for 5loaves and 2fishes.
Let us Fight our leaders, they opened the doors for buhari,I have a tacit belief that they promoted this using the C-in-C,and now claiming to love us.
The ideology remains,we need a better Nigeria, but these governors and legislooters and rogues, like this one can never give it to us.Let us charge anew at them, and tell them that "ourmumuhavedo".
The military invasion is unacceptable by international laws and that must resonate.
" Wise men speak because they have something to say,Fools(like these)speak because they want to say something."(Plato)

Now we see the fantastic beasts and where to find them.

Condolences to the fallen ones.
We meet to part no more.

God Bless the S/E
God Bless the Youths,
God Bless Nigeria
God Bless us all.

Before you abuse me,let me help u,I know I am stupid, say something else.
epic! the only submission I have on this is dat Orji Kalu is nt the ventriloquist bt the puppet itself! the poit that everybody is silent waiting for 2019 when these useless sons of a gun will come to plead for votes is sooo frustrating! we r at the crossroads now, we either adapt or die! oil will soon lose its value bt it seems that instead of pushing for stability, development, deep cash reserves and oil alternatives, they want to steal as much as they can. then they will come out on TV to spew thrash like dis one....
