Definitely adulterated kerosene, probably from the fault of the seller. Years ago I casually strolled to the filling station to buy kerosene but absentmindedly asked for fuel instead and went on to sell it to our neighbour cos my mom operated a shop where she sold stuff like these.

I was just totally oblivious of the fact that it was fuel mixed with little quantity of kerosene, I guess that was why the cold effect we get when fuel is touched was minimal in my case. Fifteen mins later our neighbour rushed to our shop and told me how the family and entire house almost got burnt while trying to put on the lantern with my kerofuel specimen. To say I was shocked was an understatement, infact I almost denied my existence. Thank goodness nothing bad happened except of course the disfigured lantern, meanwhile my mom scolded me deeply and that was it, the fact that I didn't get beat that day should be added as the eighth wonder of the world.
