When you’re starting a new business you need to have certain things in consideration, such as equipment, furniture, location, employees, to name a few. But nowadays technology allows you to have your own e-commerce with very little resources, using a laptop, a phone system and the aid of various softwares and phone apps.
But how can you reduce expenses when you’re starting a new business?

Some of the main reasons most people avoid following their dream of being their own bosses are: lack of capital, fear of not being able to succeed and not wanting to get into much debt. But most of these things can be avoided if you start as an online business with very little monetary investment.

Here are some tools and tips that can help you grow when you’re starting small but with big goals:
Get a web Page

Secure your domain and make sure people can see what you have to offer, a catalogue with images for products or a very detailed description in case of services; include your business’ contact information with multiple options such as email, phone number and mailing address.

Don’t be Afraid of Social Networks

With so many of them is easy t get overwhelmed, choose the ones that fit your company and be active on them so that people can relate to your business and see what you have to offer.

Get a VoIP Telephone System

VoIP phones are some of the best tools to save money, not only they allow you to stay connected anywhere you are, with features that can send your calls to your mobile or give you the opportunity to have a local number from a different area to where your business is located, they also adapt to your specific needs.

Be unique

There are probably tons of other online business selling the same products or services that you have, they key is to offer something with that extra touch that differentiates you from the rest. What can you bring to the table that others don’t already have?

Make a working schedule and follow it

Many people who work from home or have online businesses don’t see it as “real work” and they simply work whenever they feel like, instead of sticking to a plan or business hours. Your clients need to know when can they contact you for doubts, orders or any problem they need solving and for these reasons you have to make yourself available on specific hours and have a working schedule.

Try following these simple rules to put into motion your plan and start your own online business with success.

Nigerian striking lecturers, The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, may call off its over four-months’ strike on Thursday..
It has been revealed that the Union’s plan is to suspend the strike after the National Executive Committee of the body meets on Wednesday night to deliberate over the outcome of the congresses held in over 50 universities across the country on the new offer extended to ASUU by the Federal Government. The Union leadership had after its meeting with the Federal Government delegation last week promised to take President Jonathan’s message to all members and resolve on whether to call off the strike or not.
The ASUU leadership had since then briefed the zonal coordinators on the offer, and consequently directed the local branches to organise congress meetings between Friday last week and Tuesday (tomorrow) to deliberate on the new offer and make their final position known this week.

After Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement Wednesday, Everton manager David Moyes has been said to be in a"Pole Position" to clinch the vacant United job.

David Moyes will be announced as Manchester United's new manager within the next 24 hours as the Premier League champions aim to move quickly to appoint Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor at Old Trafford.

Moyes, whose contract at Goodison Park expires at the end of the season, has already been identified as Ferguson's successor and will be confirmed before United's next game, on Sunday, against Swansea.

Despite speculations linking Jose Mourinho with Alex Ferguson's job at Old Trafford in the event of Ferguson's retirement, the former Chelsea manager lacks support among the higher echelons of the club.

Moyes's record at Everton since arriving from Preston North End in March 2002 lacks a trophy, or experience of Champions League football beyond the qualifying rounds, but the Scot's readiness to build teams and promote youth is understood to be central to United's decision to recruit the 50 year-old.

Ferguson's elevation to a position on the United board ensures that the two men will be in a regular contact at Old Trafford, but the pair's strong relationship, which saw Moyes offered the job as Ferguson's assistant in 1999-2000, is likely to prevent friction between the manager's office and the boardroom.

It is being rumored that both Scholes and Giggs will form part of the new manger, David Moyes's coaching staff.

The recent introduction of number portability service into the Nigerian Telecommunications Industry by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) is shaking up the base of top network providers in the country. This has led to a porting ad war amongst network providers in a bid to attract and/or keep customers - with both MTN and Etisalat at the receiving end of disses.

It seems the network provider, instead of improving their services (which are abysymally poor) are rather interested in wooing customers with hilarious adverts. Anyway if we are to oblige them and choose a network to port to based on the ads released so far, here are our picks.

Yahoo Inc has snapped up mobile news aggregator Summly, the latest in a string of small acquisitions intended to bolster the Web portal's mobile services.

Summly, founded by 17-year-old Nick D'Aloisio two years ago from his home in London, sorts news by topics in quick bites for smartphones. The start-up works closely with News Corp and is backed by Chinese investor Li Ka-Shing and angel investors including actor Ashton Kutcher and artist Yoko Ono.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though technology blog AllThingsD reported that Yahoo paid roughly $30 million, citing anonymous sources.
