Nigeria my country... Where ever animal caught in the loose is food. bush meat specifically Where wildlife is never valued or preserved. Many will pay money to come see this beautiful creature in a game reserve, even a makeshift one, but my people prefer to "chop today, forget tomorrow". So many beautiful creatures that most of us (myself inclusive) only see on tv end up on nairaland frontpage as bush meat/pepper soup. Having a few more of these special beautiful creatures confined in a reserve will gain some people of that state jobs, attract tourists(even if its only local ones) to the state, development and more employment opportunities, and ultimately, secure some people's future by putting money in their pockets. But for here? Mba nu, lets eat and live today, tomorrow will think for itself. God help my country Nigeria... |
Outofsync:.... to you, not to every single African or culture That is why if a marriage goes bad, the groom's family usually asks for the dowry back in most cultural tribes.....thank you for confirming my statement above That is the equivalent of collecting your money back for a faulty product.... as seen by you. And what you "like to think" isn't what it really is.... this goes both ways brother, or sister ![]() Why try to delude yourself into thinking brideprice and dowries are romantic gestures and whatnot.the world is what you make of it ![]() In africa, women are basically property, chattel.....again, according to you, not to every person, culture or tribe |
@ op, first of all, how old is this man, sorry, boy? You know how some married couples will always say "after a while in marriage, you just get tired of your partner because you have SEEN IT ALL"? Well, thats where your child boo is at the moment. You've been doing all wifely duties only, not legally as a wife. So he has "seen it all" with you. I won't be surprised if your next post is : "my boyfriend of twelve years says he's tired of me and has found the love of his life" Sister, move on with your life. Two things can happen with the moving on. Either you meet the right man for you and have a happy life, or you give him a jolt with the breakup and then he marries you. Either way, you can't keep waiting for him. You have to do something. |
^^^^^ If I were to be God even for half a min.... Chai.... |
Outofsync:Well I already did. Too bad. Are you M/F? That'd help in understanding your viewpoint |
Outofsync:Well, I beg to differ. I like to think that the concept is targeted at making the groom part with something of value so he can appreciate what he is getting. You could be right and I wrong but then, I'd think this better than for one to go with the mindset that she's someone's "acquired property". That has made some women lose their self worth and esteem |
hedonistic:Unfortunately, I see neither male, female nor even hermaphrodite attached to your handle. Meaning you are a NOBODY and thus, definitely undeserving of a typical response. |
What happens to option C and even D self? First off, as an adult, I don't think any of them should order me about. I'm not a puppet. Option C: STAND. Yeah right, that also works. Stand and listen to find out who's right then obey that person. Both of them are important and ought to be respected but you don't expect me to sheepishly obey you. Option D: WALK AWAY. The crazy part of me will just walk away jeje, not because I'm torn between them and don't know who to obey, but because I don't just want to obey such orders jor. But if it actually boils down to choosing, I will obey my husband because at the end of the day, I'm bound to him and my father is a third party between us. |
Fed up as in how? Like its her fault and you can't endure anymore but want to seek alternate options or it's your fault, you can't bear it anymore and want to yield to extreme measures? I'm not in your shoes so I can't say I know what you are passing through, neither am I in the best position to proffer solutions. Hell, No one here is because you and your wife are different so what works for others might not work for you. However, I do know that marriage is for better for worse. This is probably an example of that "worse". My take on this is that, it's you and your wife against the in-laws, neighbours and the whole world. You don't split and abandon her in the name of being fed up. Support your wife. You didn't marry her just to make babies. You married her to live your lives together. So LIVE right and leave what's left for God. Good luck sir |
hmmmm i dey where i go, patiently waiting on the queue to see papa of life and ask him exactly who should be my val for today, na him i read two people seriously looking at another man's wife and even pointing fingers. i came to thank them for the clarification of doubts, i never said anything o, i only said APC na them use their own mouth shout CHANGE. how can i say i USED TO THINK, and never said who i thought was what, yet, they are here confessing and owning up to the 'titles'?? syncan=seminarian, Ubenedictus=has something to do with the monastery Even the pope i went to see, i couldn't. Ordinary ring sef, i no see kiss. at least, if i had seen him, i wouldve brought better news for salc today as regards who will be her val. she wouldnt have gathered this e-harem that she just did "...all of you are my val? CHAI!!!" bayano, i never knew you and banky W are vying for the same position.... BEST MAN position. i thought he guy had the highest number but Salc just proved me wrong. Salc, nne, trust me, you weren't alone in praying for stryklymi. i prayed so tey i use mouth fire am sef, he can attest to that. but then, i think 'OUR' prayers are answered o. if he hasn't forgotten everyone here, he will soon be here with testimonies of "CARD" eeerrrmmm... bayano, salc was right you know? both the pointer and the pointee are of the "i do" stage. maybe u should stop wearing suits now so you will look a bit different when this "appointed time" comes. otherwise, even me will not recognize you in the igbo attire dancing to oghene and them osadebe music....hmmmm....ubenedictus....i dey suspect you o. isorai Ubenedictus and Syncan... i shall be back. though i didnt see the pope, i sha got a revelation from the vertican for you two. make una continue. big brother is watching. i dey come first...make i go do val...ill be back shortly |
Ubenedictus:Lol. Even me surprise for the pet name. Because it's actually real to some people. Except he's on my bbm it'd be a weird coincidence. |
jnrbayano:Vertican city. I had some issue I needed to straighten out with the Pope. I'm tayad of hearing different stories from different people. |
Ubenedictus:Trust me, you don't wanna know which one you were assumed to be. |
FYI, syncan and ubenedictus, I sight you people looking at another man's wife. Mechienu Anya unu o. Meanwhile, thanks both of you for finally proving to me that you are not ordained. I used to think one of you is a seminarian and the other... Well,... A monk Ehen... who is pointing finger at jnrbayano as the next 'I do' man. Bayano, don't get me wrong o, I really do wish you so, but I'm sure u know that only a finger was pointed at you. The rest were pointing at the pointer I didn't say anything o... But it looks like stryktlymi will be next. Just ameboing Una good night... Or morning. Can't believe I haven't slept... Chai |
Thanks everyone, for your responses. They're well appreciated. I asked because most parishes I've been attending in the recent times have customized tithe envelopes and announce the collection like kilode. That practice was admonished by the Abuja archbishop sometime last year, that parishes should stop making a fuss about it and instead let it be a freewill thing. I was surprised when I came to Lagos to meet the same thing. They talk about tithe envelopes more than they talk about certain important things that are food for the soul. Eg. I never attended evening benediction(u know that short Sunday service that lasts 15mins or so with Eucharistic exposition and adoration) in my 6yrs stay in Abuja. Most parishes in the east have benediction every Sunday. Anyway, my point is, in this new Lagos parish, I noticed the church doesn't need the money. Parish house is completed. Church too. They have school, hospital, even bakery. Harvest and bazaar yields tens of millions. Yet, when one SMA priest came to the pariah to solicit for support, who sigh? So I figured they don't need the money, shekina. I may be wrong o and definitely don't have money sef, but I use my common sense on certain things. Therefore, permit me to use this medium to speak for these SMA priests and groups. You guys pro'lly know them already but then... They are a group of priests and Leity that dedicate their lives to missionary works. For me, that's what Christianity is all about. You can look them up and find out how you can contribute to their services to God, if you so please. Thanks syncan, ubenedictus, salc and all... Happy val everyone |
sisisioge:I give up, your craze pass my own!!! ![]() |
Good afternoon brothers and sisters in the Lord. I greet you all in the name of Jesus + Mary. Happy new year, month, week to you all. Happy belated birthday to you syncan. Pls, I have a kweshion o. Is it compulsory that one pays tithe in the particular church/parish they attend? Also, must it be paid to the church? That is, can I pay my tithes in another parish different from the one I attend regularly, send it directly to one priest or to my parish priest, drop it with st Vincent de Paul or even use it myself for any good deed or some work of charity? |
Are you sure about what you are saying
yup. |
sojuoppa.net
This site has a whole lot of redirects. I couldn't conveniently search for or browse through the site for Korean shows, and ultimately, I just couldn't download anything. |

I have a smart and eager to learn candidate who meets all the conditions except the tracking experience. If you do provide basic training, Here's the number: 0818413532 - Joy |
Adeoba10:It's YIMU. |
Adeoba10:You would've made a lot more sense if you'd written in English language and not 'EngLang'. See how you killed your solid reasoning with excess abbreviation. |
DeeCherry:Because they're both chances. The difference is in the magnitude |
jnrbayano:Have been trying to reach u. What's wrong with ur bbm? |
jnrbayano:Blessed. U? |
Hello... Good evening brothers and sisters. I greet u all in the name of Jesus+Mary |
Please who can assist? I need some help. Recently, I discovered my number is not visible to some contacts on whatsapp and theirs not visible to me. Most of these contacts are new, I must point out, but are saved on my phone and I communicate with them via other means - calls, texts. I can't see them on whatsapp, and they can't see me but both my number and theirs are available on whatsapp and visible to other people. When I try to initiate a chat with the contacts, it keeps asking me to invite them to join whatsapp but their contacts are already on whatsapp and vice versa Please, does anyone have a solution? I've searched for solutions and tried everything to no avail. I use a blackberry Q10 for this. Any solutions please? Thank you! |

hmmmmmm, his transport fare and wedding license fee would have tipped the budget!
