Didn't i tell her that her style of looking for ministerial appointment by being militant and insulting would fail with a military man like Buhari? Yet she refused and continued her doomed style.

I told her Buhari cannot be blackmailed by a woman indirectly threatening him with BBOG protest if she got nothing from the administration.

Forming another party is a waste of time because she neither has the clout nor money required to form a formidable political party. She has played all her cards and lost. She should go home quietly or somebody will inform EFCC to investigate how she was able to acquire all the properties she now has from merely serving as a Minister under Obasanjo.

I love the tours conducted by Crystal Lake resort at Oguta.

Hopefully government will use sea sand to create a beach close the the lake so that beach activities as beach volley ball etc can be incorporated as part of the tours. It's amazing to note that private hoteliers are targeting the use of Oguta lake to build resorts. That is very heart warming.

I hate that this guy built his stores too close to the expressway.
So where will his customers or lorries supplying the store park? Except to park on the expressway and create unnecessary traffic? People have a penchant of shifting their building almost on the gutter of the street they are located. If it's tolerated on street roads, it should not be tolerated on a federal expressway that helps the regional economy to grow.

I hope the authorities do something about it or at the minimum compel him to put up a big fence and a big gutter right outside the fence to make sure nobody will park there or impede traffic as a result of the violation of building too close to an expressway.

Land owners of Owerri may slap you for suggesting that Imo governor upgrades Orlu and Okigwe.

They would rather Imo State governors build Owerri to develop join with Port Harcourt ;

they would rather a square meter of landed property in Owerri area cost as much as in New York while Orlu and Okigwe remain backward villages.

Engineer Iwuanyabwu has pestered every Imo state governor to dredge and develop Nworie River in Owerri into a beach front for enjoyment, after flyovers and tunnels in Owerri, but there are hardly any good roads in Orlu And Okigwe.

He and others from Owerri insist that Imo State University teaching hospital, Orlu and the soon to start FUTO Teaching Hospital must be in Owerri. They now use every trick in the books to convince apolitical Rochas Okorocha to suffocate and finally relocate Imo State University teaching hospital Orlu to Owerri.

The State Library Owerri was established by East Central State Government based in Enugu, but Owerri has not allowed a state library in any other lga of Imo State.

Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Orlu Campus was closed down by Owerri immediately after Mbakwe who established it left office. The campus would have become a full university before now

Owerri has utilized its share of Mbakwe govts multi-billion Naira regional water supply project, while similar regional water supply projects earmarked same time for Orlu and Okigwe have not been realized; and now Owerri is asking for a second regional water supply scheme before those of Orlu and Okigwe can be realized.

Ask an average Owerri person why all these: his/her answer must be: because Owerri is the STATE CAPITAL. But that is most ridiculous/foolish answer, because there is no constitutional provision that a state governor must use the state's resources to build infrastructures in the state capital far ahead of any other city, town or lga in the state.

Pray, next world, Orlu and Okigwe MUST NOT belong to the same state with Owerri. Greed, excessive greed .....

Question is

Is Rochas an Owerri man?

If the answer is negative, then blame Rochas and not Owerri people.

Heroes Park Owerri

Rochas said the statues were to honor past heroes and inculcate a desire to be great in the young children.

Lets face it. Does it mean Rochas will not mould Sam Mbakwe, the father of modern Imo state? Nor mould Prof. Chinua Achebe, the father of African literature?

How come the only people he considers heroes are former politicians and some were known for their deep corruption (Obasanjo and the missing $16 billion for NIPP or $2.8 billion suddenly missing in 1978). Even Zuma is currently undergoing impeachment process in his country for corruption. Are these the types of people that we want the future generation to emulate?

Soon, we shall start erecting statues of coup plotters, armed robbers and other unfortunate characters responsible for the state of affairs today in Nigeria.

Bro I was able to visit Onitsha general hospital on New year day, serious work was going on, I meet the contractor handling the projects according to him after upgrading the infrastructures, they will also do landscape with drainage

Nwanne mmadu, thanks a lot for taking the pain you took to go inside and take pictures. I was actually born in that hospital and i also worked there.I know countless lives it had saved, so i'm totally committed to seeing it return to it's former glory as a prime medical center of excellence in the southeast region. I can't thank Obiano enough for massively investing in healthcare infrastructure to give Onitsha residents a befitting public hospital capable of handling every type of surgery and medical emergencies.

I am happy Obiano is taking concrete steps to transform it into a center of excellence which it used to be. What Obiano is doing now was what most of us expected Ngige would do being a medical doctor who did his houseman-ship in that hospital. It was a shame that Ngige too abandoned the hospital.

I can't wait to see it when landscaping is completed with trees and flowers in that hospital. If that hospital is transformed into a truly modern specialist center, the quality healthcare for the masses in Onitsha would have been given a major boost.People use that hospital so much and when it's staffed by competent doctors, nurses, pharmacists etc, then the people of the state are also being treated by qualified and competent professionals. Personally, i prefer going to that hospital because unlike fanciful private hospitals filled with quacks, you will get the most brilliant and resourceful medical consultants in every field in the hospital.

Finally, biko who is putting up those plastic yellow palm trees on Park road and near Zik's roundabout? I hope those are xmas decorations because those areas need proper flowers and trees not the plastic decors.

Politics / Re: Wike Meets Buhari, Says $1bn Insurgency Fund Illegal by ChimaAgbalajob: 4:33pm On Dec 30, 2017
zakim:
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Friday described the approval of $1 billion from Excess Crude account by Nigeria Governors’ Forum as illegal.

He said the same amount could also be taken from the ECA to address environmental problems in Ogoni land and other areas in the Niger Delta.

Wike was addressing State House reporters after meeting behind closed doors with

President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said was at the Villa to update Buhari on the security situation in Rivers State, describing his relationship with the president as cordial.

The governor said: “For me it is illegal, however, we are talking about fighting insurgence and no right thinking individual will say that he will not support the government to fight insurgency.

"But on the other hand, I believe that we have been talking about the environmental issues in the Niger Delta particularly in Ogoni land, I believe that we can also take the same money from the excess crude account to fund the problem in Ogoni land and other Niger Delta areas. That is my position.

https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/wike-meets-buhari-says-1bn-insurgency-fund-illegal.html

I respect Wike and Fayose as the ONLY Governors that speak out about the brazen robbery of Nigeria under Buhari.

The $1 billion is just another paymnet for the Buhari boys using "Boko Haram" as a front to steal the money.

Why not put the money in the budget and allocate it to defense, then monitor it's implementation for the procurement of arms for our troops? They won't do that because the true aim is not to procure anything for our army, it is meant to be stolen for other personal priorities of Buhari.

Owerre wu Owerre wu uratta, as they say,
The whole of uratta is really expanding, it is accomodating imolites and other people from other lgas and eastern states,

Owerri is beginning to have cosmopolitan posture, the Ghanaian community, yoruba community and hausa community is really increasing,

I was surprised at the rapid growth around okwu uratta, egbu, owalla, owellu, umuoba, ebikoro, everywhere is rapidly changing,

However, I will also love one particular Toronto Junction end of northwards mcc road, To be completed, it has been abandoned since ohakim dispensation.

It will also be appreciated if the governor can do more in other zones and lgas outside owerri, 2018 gonna be fruitful.

Resumption of international flights at Sam Mbakwe Intl. airport (SMICA) is important to Owerri achieving it's potential. The way FAAN and NCAA has forced Ethiopian and Turkish airlines to combine their almost empty Kano international flights with stopover in Kaduna airport to boost development of those northern Nigeria airports, The Enugu and Port Harcourt airports can combine new international flights with Owerri. For instance, Turkish airline flight to Port Harcourt Intl. via Owerri and Air France Paris-Port Harcourt-Owerri flights will help the airport.

Instead of looking for projects built by other Imo Governors or former Presidents to rename after Buhari, Rochas should impress on Buhari to permit international flights into Owerri and dualize the airport road.
Then naming that important airport road after Buhari would be justifiable honor to him as he has contributed towards the development of the state.

It's actually a nice idea but will they do it? NO. They benefit alot from capped data plans.

Actually, they will gain more if they introduced an unlimited monthly subscription plan in addition to the existing capped data plan they operate. Truth is that they think they benefit but they truly don't. It was the same thinking that MTN had when they did the per minute billing. Those types of ideas restrict people from using the services, in this case internet. The fact you restrict something does not mean people will buy more than they do. You will only restrict their usage because they won't buy more than they can afford.
It also means they cannot estimate a fixed sum which they can make per year because people will only buy a little data each time. But if you switched to monthly unlimited plan, people will simply put it as part of their monthly services and just pay you every month for it. If you have one million subscribers, it the that fixed amount multiplied by one million and the company can adequately plan knowing about how much they expect from 4G lte services every month.

It is shocking that smaller African countries have unlimited internet while in Nigeria we are still talking about data plans after all these years of digital revolution.

Politics / Appeal To Globacom: Make Glo 4G LTE Network A Monthly Subscription by ChimaAgbalajob: 1:43pm On Dec 29, 2017
Globacom pioonered affordable cell phones usage by reducing the illegal charges placed on acquiring a SIM card by MTN and instituting per second billing. A feat which South African company MTN claimed was impossible and used in extorting huge phone bills from Nigerians.

Again, Globacom launched Nigeria into the ultra fast internet speed age with introduction of it's 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network. Today, huge volumes of data, government agencies, corporate organisations including banks, oil and gas companies, academic institutions and health institutions, which utilize seamless data transfer for their operations will benefit immensely from Globacom’s data intensive applications. Use of internet to communicate in Nigeria has truly improved from the near self imposed exclusion we lived in a few years ago. The only thing left is to make internet usage unlimited for an affordable monthly subscription fee by creating an unlimited monthly data plan in addition to the capped data plans which are being offered.

However, since this service is based on per second data usage, it is still priced out of range for most ordinary Nigerians. The worst part is that although Nigeria has more internet users than any African country, internet activity from Nigeria is way below Kenya's or other smaller countries. This is because unlike Nigeria, internet providers in these countries provide unlimited internet access for a fixed monthly subscription cost.

Nigerians are therefore appealing to Globacom to lead the way in providing unlimited fast wireless internet access for a fixed monthly subscription cost as obtainable in other countries. This will help our universities, students and ordinary Nigerians use the internet as needed for their research and work. I Thank Glo in advance for finally removing this last digital restriction on use of internet in Nigeria.

Politics / Fuel Scarcity: Fayose Releases Ekiti Government House Fuel To Alleviate Hardship by ChimaAgbalajob: 4:02pm On Dec 26, 2017
P:

A governor in Nigeria has opted to sell fuel meant for his official use to members of the public as fuel scarcity continues across Africa’s most populous nation.

Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose, an ardent critic of president Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday tweeted his decision to sell fuel at 145 naira per liter (equivalent to $0.40).

“To reduce the hardship being faced by our people because of scarcity of fuel, I have directed that 80% of the petrol in the 60,000 litres capacity Govt House Fuel Dump be taken to a Petrol station in Ado Ekiti to be announced soon. It will be sold to the public at N145/litre,” he said in a tweet.

For about a week now, there have been long queues at fuel stations across the country as people throng the premises looking for fuel. The government and state oil firm, NNPC, has given assurances that everything was being done to normalize the situation.

Nigeria is one of Africa’s top oil producers but as a result of lack of refining capacity, it imports most of the fuel it consumes. There has also been talk of hoarding of the product by marketers with a view to force a price hike.

That the scarcity has occured during the Christmas season has compounded issues as transport across the country has largely been curtailed. Nigeria is not alone on the particular issue, Angola – also an oil producer, was reported to be facing similar headaches.

The state oil company, Sonagol, acknowledged ‘delays in processing fuel at the country’s ports because of minor issues around the payment of certain suppliers’ but insisted that it was ‘not short of fuel’ and that there was ‘no reason to be alarmed.’

In Nigeria, the fuel is being sold at as high as N400 up from N145 while in Angola, prices are reported to have tripled to as high as 500 kwanzas($3).

In a bid to boost Nigeria’s recuperating economy and create more jobs, a lot of Russian investors have signified interest in bringing their companies in the country.
The Russian Ambassador to Nigeria, Nikolay Udovichenko, made the disclosure during a press briefing with select journalists in Abuja recently.
The envoy said that these investors have already identified power, agriculture, solid mineral and education as critical sectors to venture into, adding that the Russian Federation has started planning to have a joint corporation with Nigeria.
“We are expecting more Russian companies in Nigeria starting from next year (2018) and these companies have identified areas where they have indicated interest. They are power, agriculture, solid mineral and education. Also, Russia is planning to have a joint corporation with Nigeria in order to increase their bilateral ties,” he said.

Kidnapping awaits most of them.

They will pay more ransom for their lives than profit from Nigeria

Government is a continuum. If you rename Ahmadu Bello way in Kano as Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Way, you know it will last only for a short period.

So, the next governor will win election simply by promising he would remove abominable names and statues and it will be the first things to happen in 2010. So they can enjoy calling the road in front of one of the most sacred churches in Igboland as Adolf Hitler avenue or Idi Amin street. It is only for a while.

It is left for us to solve them or allow Nigeria to continue drifting while we play ostrich that the problem does not exist.

From the time Achebe wrote those words to today, thousands of Nigerians have perished in Libya and inside Nigeria simply because we chose to deny than tackle the problems. Thousands more will still die as Nigeria continues to be an uninhabitable space for its people.

Some people prey on you and hope you will not go to court and get your rights.

GTB must pay INNOSON coporation for illegal deductions using false pretenses.

Those still leaving their account at GTB should understand that if this could happen to INNOSON, think what GTB would do to you if they confiscate your deposit.

The three cities are fine. Even Asaba is okay. I will naturally have bias for Enugu and Asaba, but please take into consideration the land which is both strategic and cheaper. My concern is usually cost of land which can sometimes burn a deep hole in one's pocket unless you are careful with it.
Since it will be an 8 flat type of house, land closer to public transport routes will also be beneficial in making a choice among these cities.
