Olusegunoni: Hello all. It's nice meeting you guys and I'm so excited to be here. I have started my processing as well as written the English proficiency test but i will like to involve a consultant now. I was introduced to one but would like to find out if anyone knows him and if he's genuine. His name is Rich Global travels in Ibadan. Any info on him. I'm also open to suggestions. How bless you all You will not need a consultant if you follow the thread thoroughly. My opinion. |

tolurigs: @beyunce and slowlybtsurely, Thanks for the encouragement to review my ECA with Wes,I'm glad to inform you that a review has been made and my diploma is now included in the Canadian equivalent summary.it States Diploma(two years) and bachelors ( four year) and that will increase my score now. Tolurigs, Congrats. I want to find out if the two-year diploma was part of the four-year degree program? Or that was completed separately from the four-year degree. As in whether the two-year diploma was post the four-year degree. Cheers! |

GrandCommander: Dear all, I have a CRS score of 375. Do I Ave any chance for PR with all the streams.. It would be a good idea to improve your IELTS scores assuming you did not ace the exam. Or check the provinces that are looking for professionals in your occupation and go the Provincial Nomination route. Cheers! |

MJBA: Hello house, need sm clarification about POF, will my treasury bill hold water, or should it be in fixed deposit? It will hold water. It will also hold a lot more water if you could cash it and place it in a fixed deposit. And submit the fixed deposit certificate instead. Fixed deposits seem to work very well with them. Others can add their expert opinions. My 1 cent. Cheers! |

justicia: At walexlo and all. Am doing my masters degree here at York University, Toronto. but I won't be done unail next year. Do u think it's advisable to wait to finish the program first in which case I wouldn think need WES evaluation. or should I just proceed to do WES evaluation with my first degree. does masters carry more points ? Thank you. Sure, a masters degree carries more marks. But whether you currently have enough points to receive an ITA depends on other factors like age, English language ability etc. Kindly refer to the link below. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.aspThe current ITA marks hovers around 468 - 470. bubsykay: Thank you bro! CBN didn't list CAD in their exchange on website but I used Oanda exchange rate and put both CBN and oanda link as ref. Please my bank did not include the 6 months average balance due to their standard template for both statement & ref. Do I need to include a copy of the email they sent me in my LOE? You can include it to clarify things for the Immigration Officer. You should be fine once your balance is equal to or more than the POF required for the number of applicants on the application. If they need more info, I am sure they will revert. I am optimistic, though, that this would suffice. Cheers! |

Doggys: Hello House, I need help please. I asked earlier if my wife with ECA done in Geology can apply into the express entry with expeerience as an Administrative Officer with NOC 1221. I have filled out the EE profile but am yet to submit it. With her a the PA, we have a much higher score of 425 than with me a mechanical engineer a scoreof 395. I also want to try creating a second profile with me as PA and look out for PNPs. I checked out BC province and they talked about getting a job offer, how possible is this without one been in canada at least? Please i need your help as soon as possible as all this is really head cracking. Someone said to me that my wifes profile could fly for ITA,but might not fly for PR because the experience is different from the educational training. Thanks Yes, she can apply. It does not matter. That is the beauty of Express Entry. There is no restricted job list. So she should be good to go. You can also create a second profile in search for a PNP. Do not restrict yourself to only British Columbia. Getting a job offer in Canada from Naija will be extremely difficult, to say the least. Cast your net wide to cover other provinces. Some of them do not require you to have a job offer. Good morning! |

giddyyayo: I am thinking of enrolling into the cic express entry, and I would like to knw if its is a process that requires paying a consultant or is it a process an inidividual can do successfully without paying consultants, cos I am thinking of being economical in this times. This is my candid opinion. The information and guidance you can glean from here would be much better than what a consultant could give you. In fact, many here are unofficial consultants, and they have gone through the program successfully themselves. Cheers! |

NittaJ: Really? Does that mean that they evaluate Nigerian Law credentials as a Bachelor of Laws and not as a Bachelor's degree? I don't it matters whether they evaluate it as Bachelor of Laws or a Bachelor's degree. The most important point here is that it is a professional degree and so the required points would apply. Reference the definition from CIC as follows: Master's degree, OR professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession (For “professional degree,” the degree program must have been in: medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry, law, chiropractic medicine, or pharmacy And yes, they are accredited by CIC. You can get your assessment from: Comparative Education Service – University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies International Credential Assessment Service of Canada World Education Services International Qualifications Assessment ServiceInternational Credential Evaluation Service Medical Council of Canada (professional body for Doctors) Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (professional body for Pharmacists) Cheers. |

kemmytino: Please @ Jesusdway: is dia any difference btw EE and PR? Express Entry (EE) is a completely electronic process through which applicants apply for Permanent Residence (PR) to Canada. Permanent residency status means you can stay indefinitely in Canada so long as you do not commit any serious crime that might warrant your return to wherever you came from. I hope this helps. Cheers! |

Doggys: hello house. two questions please. can a family with two different job skills create two profiles, with husband as principal applicant as one application and the wife as principal applicant for the second? Other question is, my international passport expires in about a months time, can i enter the express entry pool now and when i renew the passport i do an update? As after my 3rd ielts i had LRSW 8877. Can't waste this result and all the money spent so far writing tests. Both can enter. But why not focus on the applicant with the most points? Because you guys would have to rescind one assuming both of you receive an invitation. That slot could have gone to someone badly in need of nomination. You can enter the pool as you work to renew your passport. But I think it would be best to renew it quickly before you enter. That tends to lessen the workload on applicants. My 1 kobo. |

JesusDWay: This is the same letter I keep seeing almost everyone they want to deny, I just hope they are not doing it deliberately. One possibility is that they likely worked with only one of the POF and left out the other one, something similar to this has caused trouble for people in the past. What she should have done was to write a letter of explanation as the first thing they will see on the page for pof, where she would explain she's using a combination of 2 pofs and give the official exchange rate and do the maths for them. That way, they won't have choice than to use the two. I actually don't think they can use black market, it's totally unprofessional. The solution may be to go to CBN's website and print out the exchange rate, then attach it the ones she submitted earlier and write a letter of explanation that it is the accounts she's using as her pof and that the exchange rate as stipulated by CBN, when you used to do the math for the combination of the two pof shows she has more than sufficient. Alternatively, she can get extra money from her parents and get a gift deed for it that they gave her as a gift for her relocation plans Permit me to add my 1 cent. I think she should do both. That way, there will be no route of escape for them. The key lesson in JesusDWay's point is that one should not allow the Visa Officer(s) any room to "think" for us. Good evening house. |

esosa4real: Gooday Zandora, akanni, chimaxyz, SlowlybtSurely, JesusDway and everyone! Honestly I regret not starting this Canada immigration years ago (well na money yab man sha) but am back here because I have gotten life-changing information and even job links from Nairaland travel sections, and I believe I will get all the necessary information's regarding Canada immigration right here once I complete reading the threads, I am on page 10 now
I will start by saying, Nairalaners are the bomb, I got my previous UK, US, SA visas infos from this forum, by thorough thread research and personal guidance by the likes of Justwise, spikesC... and co on the General UK, US, SA inquiry threads. God bless these guys.
I am a 29yr old, single, medical Doctor with 3years experience now and presently working in Saudi Arabia as a GP (6months now) and I must confess that by a year from now I would have sufficient funds by Gods grace to fulfil the Canadian immigration financial costs and requirements.
So in the mean time, i am preparing to write the General IELTS, here in Saudi Arabia. But my major problem or concern now, is that I am quite confused about where to apply from; if possible from here or must be from NIGERIA? I searched the internet but didn't get any real info so please I have come to reason it with the great minds here. I will just ask some few quick questions although I am going to read all the pages of this thread.
1. Is the whole process of Express Entry an online thing? (devoid of medicals and interviews)? 2. If YES, are Nigerians permitted to apply from other countries where they have legal residence? (I have legal residential card) 3. If no, mehnn where do I apply from? 4. I have a small confusion about where i fall under, Federal skilled or what?? I am a newbie or Canada immigration matters (abeg no laff me ). Anyways, I checked the NOC list and my job category is listed. 5. Lastly, I used to think that this immigration process takes some time and that one has to diligently follow the steps and be patient, but a few people I recently asked says the express system is now just 6months! Please how true is that.
Thanks so much as I expect your candid opinions and replies. God bless yall. Congrats, I think u have done very well for yourself at 29. Just to let you know, you are likely to be nominated ASAP after entering the pool if you are able to ace the IELTS. You will be sitting the General test and not the Academic. If you ace the test, will get a score of about 473 (I have assumed that you would be 30 years by then). If you are still 29 years by then, the score would be 478. And based on the trend, that would give you an ITA as soon as you enter. I am saying this in reference to your having enough funds for the process in about a year's time. So please take note. What you can do is to also enter the pool in about nine months time. Since you have about ninety days (3 months) within which to lodge your application. By then that one year would have been up and ur funds would also have been accrued. My thoughts. Happy Easter! |

mastacop: Well, I have a year experience in NOC 2451. My msc and undergraduate degree has been evaluated by wes (16th March) My IELTS general is L7.5 W6.5 R7 S7. Though I'm rewriting another one on the 30th of April.
Basically, my intention was creating a profile and know where I need to accrue more points. Instead, when I filled the application it was an instant inellegible status. @mastacop, I suspect the ineligibility feedback is coming from the date you provided for your work experience or NOC. I cannot find your NOC here: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/Welcome.aspxCould you please tell the forum what your occupation is? Cheers! |

ChisOsin: Hello house I so much appreciate the good work so many of you are doing here, it feel so good to see this thread...Canada has been my dream land...hubby and I has build up funds for this immigration purpose but end up using it to go give birth to our baby in the US because we got discouraged the moment my hubby did not pass his ielt test.....but now that I have found this thread with wonderful people who is ever ready to assist and encourage people like us, I think we have to start building up another fund...
Please I need your opinion on this, our plan is for hubby to be the principle applicant, so that when we finally get the PPR, hubby, I and our 2 children will travel there and I will come back with the children after one month and continue with my job (since I have a good job here) so that I can support him from here until he gets a job and stand firm on his feet before we finally join him permanently....but the issue here is that I happen to be more eligible for this EE than hubby because of my age and work experience, the worst is that I got to fine out that his job title is not even among the NOC type A, B and 0 as required....
My question now is that, is it possible for me to be the principal applicant and still go on with our plan? Is it allowed?
Thanks Happy Easter! You can be the principal applicant. There is nothing wrong with that and like you rightly indicated, you would be able to rack up more points coz of your age, education and experience. Have you written the exam yourself? What were your scores? What do you exactly mean when you say he failed the IELTS. One does not necessarily fail that exam. Could you share his marks with the forum? Could you also provide your education, experience(including NOC) to help the house better understand the situation and offer useful advice? |
