I was on my feet most of the time and I desperately wanted to sit down but there was no chair for us. The sheiks sprayed money on the strippers until they used up all the cash they came with. One of them even sprayed some cash on all the waitresses but we did not move an inch to pick up any note that fell on us. My feet were already hurting when they decided to go home. I was exhausted and relieved that the night had ended. I quickly picked up the notes on the floor around me when I saw the other girls quarreling about money and I quietly left the room. I was on my way home when I received an alert of 30k on my phone, it was the reward from Madame. I sighed when I remembered I had gained a 100k in one night without working. I got home tired as usual, my mind worked overtime trying to see what the reward could do for me until my eyelids couldn't stay open and I willingly shut them. |
While we stood outside waiting for a taxi because she didn't come with her car, a Lexus jeep stopped in front of us. One of the men asked us for directions. We had no idea of the place they were looking for then we noticed orange bands on their wrists. We ignored them and they drove off before she got a taxi to take her home. I went home to rest some more but I could not, my mind was restless so I went to a bar nearby to relax for an hour and look around. I had to leave when the bar became noisy and I didn't want to come across any familiar face. Hunger brought me out again and I didn't waste much time outside before I went home to sleep. I had to join an emergency meeting when I got to work the next day. Madame Nora commended us for a job well done and told us to expect our rewards soon. The night was still young when a group of men came into the club. Two of the men were dressed like sheiks while the rest wore black suits and they headed to the VIP section. I hung around incase they needed an extra hand and I was lucky when one of the waitress came out, she told me she had stomach upset. I didn't hesitate in replacing her although I noticed that the other girls showed little or no interest in working in that section. I went in quickly to work, I noticed that we had to be on standby to fill their glasses whenever it was empty. |

The club was shut down for two days for repairs according to the manager so I had time to rest and decide if I would continue working in the club. I thought of the money I had just spent and I felt a bit worried about the source from which it came from but there was nothing I could about it. I decided that I would be more careful with the way i hustled for money. Justina came to my place the day after and we had so many things to gist about. She was alarmed that I accepted money from the Good Fellows club, she even wanted to tell me more about them but I changed the topic immediately since I had already seen enough evidence to know that there was something strange about them. We talked about other things before she decided to go home. |

Happy New Year ![]() The rest of the day went by in a flash and I saw myself at home trying to sleep after eating but I could not, I felt a slight pain on my forehead but I didn't think much about it. After tossing and turning on my bed, I went to a nearby shop and bought two cans of Guinness stout. I gulped it without difficulty, I started feeling sleepy in few minutes and sleep took over when I couldn't resist it. I dreamt of my room covered in a big heap of brand new naira notes but when I tried to pick them, they turned to ashes. I woke up with a start and I searched for my bundle of the cash. I found it in my bag still intact. I stared at the cash when a soft voice spoke into my ear "spend the money quickly".I looked around my room but I saw no one.I got up immediately without checking the time and embarked on a spending spree till I exhausted the cash. I sent some of the things I bought for my siblings and parents through a distant relative who was a bus driver. |

You don't want them to see you as a bad person, they don't see you as good person either. As far as they are concerned you are foolish that is why they are not ready to live on their own without taking things from you..... |

I held it up while I shouted but nobody heard me because of the loud music so I pushed my way into the circle and when one of the men saw me holding the cash but he waved me aside. While I tried to explain what happened, the other man said "today is your lucky day, you can have it". I doubted what he said but when they became engrossed in their game and they ignored me, I withdrew silently from the crowd. I hid the cash in my blouse immediately, I acted as if nothing happened and tried to concentrate on serving some of the guests who had returned back to their seats after dancing as if their lives depended on it. |
The men kept spraying while I wished that I was on that stage. All of a sudden a slight commotion amongst the guests who had formed a circle close to the stage caught my attention. Two men played a bizzare game of throwing bundles of cash at each other. I moved nearer when I noticed that most of them were either drunk or high as they hailed the men. One of the men kicked a bundle like it was a ball. I felt hot as beads of sweat rolled down my face while I stood in their midst. I looked around and I noticed that some of the waitresses were either hanging around the bar or near the stage. My attention shifted for a few seconds to the ladies on the stage when something hit me on my head before it fell on the ground. I had to bend down to pick it up, it was a bundle of new 1k naira notes... |
Hunger woke me up by midday and I went out to buy food since I did not cook. When it was time to go to work I decided not to go there early. I lost the enthusiasm to work since there was no money to motivate me. I got there a few minutes late and I met the bar manager who was visibly angry when he noticed that I came late, I was actually the last person to come to work. The arrival of the guests prevented him from his usual show of power whenever he wanted to shout on anybody. I was on my feet most of the time, more drinks were brought into the club as the number of guests increased. It was already midnight when the ladies came out and they danced to the voice of beyonce while some of the men were getting ready to spray cash as usual. Three men got on the stage with the intention of spraying money on the ladies, the DJ automatically increased the tempo and the ladies danced with so much frenzy like they were high on something. |
The executives retired to their section for a private show, while the rest continued with whatever they were doing. The air became a bit stuffy when they all came to the dance floor so I went outside again and decided to stay a little longer. I saw the security men discussing with one of the bouncers, they spoke the same language. I tried to eavesdrop but I could only catch just a few words and when it seemed that they would notice my presence, I left that spot to get back into the club. The new members seemed to have fun as they danced with each other and sprayed cash on the stage, few of them got on the stage and danced with the ladies. Morning came too soon and I left quickly, I came home empty handed and exhausted. I crashed on my bed and fell asleep. |
The ladies danced until the early hours of the morning and the guests left. Everybody was so tired, I had to leave immediately so that I could go home and rest. I spent the money on food and recharge card as soon as I got to my street. I took my bath, ate my food and laid down to think of yesterday's event. I was already fed up with my inability to earn money despite the fact that I worked hard that night. I wondered if those in the VIP area faced the same issue. My mind drifted off and I fell asleep. The second night was more stressful as the demand for drinks doubled when the executives sat amongst the new members to congratulate them and give them a badge which the older members had. I sneaked out a couple of times to rest a little and to avoid being hounded by the bar manager who noticed the lack lustre attitude amongst the waitresses. |
