Banks to open between 8am to 2pm, schools and restaurants to remain shut as FG releases guidelines for easing of lockdown on Monday May 4

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID19 has released the guidelines for the ease of the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the FCT which will come into effect next week Monday May 4.


Briefing newsmen on the guidelines for the ease of the lockdown, the National coordinator of the Presidential taskforce on COVID19, Sani Aliyu, said Interstate travels remain banned except for essential services. For intrastate activities, banks are to open between the hours of 8pm to 2pm while adhering to all the COVID-19 prevention guidelines. .


Schools are remained closed. Restaurants are to remain closed but can do home deliveries. Concerts and Recreational activities stay suspended for now.

''For government offices, government staff will be allowed to resume from the 4 of May but it will be based on specific grade levels and specific days so that we can reduce the amount of congestion that we might have in our government offices and we will be discussing further with state governments to make sure that we have a common approach to this.

Banks will be allowed to open but there will be restriction in the opening hours to between 8am to 2pm and together with all the other preventive measures I have already mentioned.

In addition to this, from the point of agriculture and rural development, companies involved in food processing can commence operation. In construction sites, critical road will be allowed but waivers will be provided by state governments to enable movement.

For the manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries, we will encourage shift work and limiting staff to only 30 to 50 per cent to maintain social distancing and pharmacy shops may remain open overnight.” Sani said



The chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID19, Boss Mustapha, while making his own speech, said management of various offices are expected to fumigate and decontaminate their offices. .

They are also expected to make arrangement for physical distancing of their staff while at work, ensure all staff use face mask and hand sanitizer.

In the past identity theft was quite common in South Africa. IDs were being stolen and the photos changed. This also contributed to tensions between locals and foreigners.

The new smart IDs have drastically reduced this crime, and it's good to see the cops adopt a no nonsense approach.

A South African security official is seen in this video, questioning suspected illegal immigrants of Chinese decent.

The security official had stopped the car which was conveying them to an unknown destination. On questioning the occupants of the vehicle, it was discovered that some of the occupants had seemingly valid national identification card even though they could not speak English which is the lingua franca of South africa, nor by other local languages in the country; that they could only speak chinese raised eyebrows on the originality of the documents.

The officials wondered how they God the I.D cards since one had to know one of the south African languages in order to process the card.

Female officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS have been queried for partaking in Bopdaddychallenge.


According to the query letter dated April 15 and was shared by Oluwaseun Owosobi, founder of Stand to End Rape Initiative, the female officers were accused of indecent flaunting of their bodies and desecration of the NIS uniform in the video.



The letter stated that their action is a serious misconduct liable to dismissal from service. The erring officers have been asked to give reasons why disciplinary action shouldn't be taken against them.

Pastor accuses NDLEA officials of wrongfully detaining his wife and their two months baby in Delta


A Pastor in Delta state has accused officials of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA of wrongfully detaining his wife and baby.


In the video posted by activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the pastor who resides in Ubuluku, Delta state, said he had a clash with one of his neighbor who according to him, sells “Indian hemp”.



The pastor said he warned the neighbor against selling the banned substance close to his own side of the compound, but his warning didn't go don well as his neighbour got angry and used a cutlass to chase him around.



The clergyman said he immediately reported the matter to the police who were unable to arrest his neighbour because he ran away.


The pastor claimed he got a call from the said neighbour, vowing to deal with him. He said he was shocked when he received a call that his wife and their two months old baby have been arrested and detained by NDLEA officials in Ogwashi-Ukwu, a town in Delta state.



He appealed to Nigerians and the state government to come to his aid so that justice can prevail and for the NDLEA officials to release his wife and baby.

Former Aviation Minister, FFK said Melinda Gates proclamation is spiritual and it shows the plans she and her husband Bill Gates have for Africa.
