What is the original price to be halfed. That should be the question because they may be taking the hiked price and still collect money from the government.

I made a terrible oversight of not checking electricity bills before purchasing a house. It just completely escaped my mind till after purchase.

I just found out there's electricity debts of 500k unpaid to IBEDC.

How do I handle this?

I feel your pain.
The truth is that you bought the liabilities as well. Find a way to clear that bill because any short cut you take now will amount to regret in the future. Any money you give to anybody now just to in your effort to avoid this bill will be a wasted venture in the near future.
My advise though. I am a victim too and I learned the hard way

I know it will be difficult getting such a negligent
previous owner to pay such bills. sad
Family / Re: Please Kindly Adopt My Daughter by chinebu(m): 9:41am On Jul 22, 2023
If you are talking of adoption, make sure you really understand what adoptions means. You will never claim her again if someone adopts her.

fifehanmi938:
Good morning everyone, please I opened this account to be anonymous.
Please I really want to give out my daughter for adoption because am going through it all and want to commit suicide. Here is my story
I had my daughter when I was 17 years old and the guy I had the daughter for left me and run away after the child's naming and this made me to return to my family and living with them with the kid.i started working as a teacher to survive.. everything was going fine until devil came into my family and my parents separated.and my mom got very sick, serious sickness and my Dad left home for a long time ,not until my mom's family came to take my mom to the village and now left with me,my daughter and my two siblings..

Things became very hard but I still continue working but not enough to survive us,not until the day my dad brought a woman to the house ,two years after my mom was away.
My mom sickness turns out to be mental illness so no hope of her recovering fast because her family took her to different churches and all but still the same.

So when my dad brought this woman, she started to frustrate us and my dad told me to leave the kid and go out to work ,that his wife will take care of the kid which I agreed.
So a friend told me about traveling to Cairo to work ,but I will pay back for 1 and half years to my boss. It was maid work but we call it shagala there.which I agreed,so thdy process my passport and travel document and I travelled.

I started working and serving my boss there not until one day my sister called me on phone that my dad wife has pursued her and left only my brother and my daughter and she told me how my daughter is maltreated and she is very malnourished,at a point I am very depressed but I don't have option because am not in Nigeria and still working and paying back.

So after a year and half I paid finish and start working on my own ,we are paid 100k monthly if we exchange it to Nigeria currency and I paid house rent monthly because we work for 26 days and go home for the remaining 4 days.

A year after I started working,my Dad's start calling me to come back and take my child because they can't take care of her anymore, since his new wife gave birth they say my daughter is now a burden to them and my kid brother I heard they sent him to learn apprentice and live with his boss..

I told them to be patient with Me that am not in Nigeria,he said he don't care that I should know how I come for my daughter or I will not see her again,he became very aggressive.

I had no option than to travel back to Nigeria with the little I save, getting to Nigeria on my way to Ogun state,I was robbed and got injured and everything I had was taken,my clothes phone and all.

I had two phones, one Samsung that is badly broken and not working really well and one Redmi,I am posting from the Samsung now since the Redmi was stolen.

I got frustrated more ,now I am homeless and I started working with a woman who sells food which she allows me to sleep at her shop after we close and give me 400 naira everyday but the problem now is that she said I can't bring in my child and I reach out to my sister, she said my dad give me 4 days to come and take the daughter or else I won't hear from her again because he will go and dump her somewhere.

I am totally depressed and suicidal please who can adopt my daughter 🙏🥺😭I beg in the name of God just for sometimes if I can be able to gather myself to rent a house later then I come take her.

quote author=Confirmedzombie post=123915146]I have read so many post on Nairaland and Twitter where our brainless and dumb obedients have been jubilation that Amazon has expired INEC and the purported glitches.

To cut it short, courts do not accept evidences from a Third party. AWS are third party.

You cannot render an evidence from a host and abandon the developer.

It is obvious that the noise will end today and our brainless obedients will shift goal posts as usual.

Until today, both Peter Obi has never mentioned the 25% FCT in court. No mention of Tinubu drug conviction or dual citizenship.

I wonder the kind of brain this obedients have. Always jubilating on unnecessary issues.

I will wait to laugh out louder at the obedients today because I personally know the lady who claims to be a staff of Amazon.

She is not a staff of Amazon but merely certified by Amazon.

The lady in question contested last election under the Labour Party for which she lost.

I recall when the Federal High court ordered INEC to upload her names.

Today will be a very bad day for our dumb and brainless obedients.
INEC should know that since the materials were given mainly for this election tribunal, in which ever area the LP or any other party uses it is not their business. They only need to defend it not to object to it

**My Own Submissions On This Very Issue..**

Inside the LP’s PETITION,, I could clearly read where they specifically mentioned ELEVEN STATES, and then went ahead to write “AND OTHER STATES”

LP had produced the results in the mentioned 11 states,, and proceeded to continue to produce the results in some “OTHER” additional 7 States, making it a total of 18 States in all..

How can the INEC be expecting Peter Obi to tender only the STATE-LEVEL Collated Results for the States they were disputing, without him tendering all the Polling-unit Results, and all Wards Collated Results, and all the LGAs Collated Results of all the States he intended to dispute..??

How could the INEC be expecting them to present some LGAs inside any state which they are disputing, and then leave out some other LGAs,, yet they were supposed to be disputing the results in the whole of the mentioned states, and including “other states”?

For the Fact that he wrote “And Other States” inside his petition,, he is at liberty to dispute the whole if the 36 States and the FCT...
Thus, the 11 mentioned states are sacrosanct..
Any other states he added are at his choice.
Family / Re: Inside Life: American Visa Lottery Has Ruined My Life - Husband (pathetic Story by chinebu(m): 12:09pm On Apr 27, 2023
SojWORLDWIDE:

If I had known, I would not have played the American Visa Lottery. The lottery I played has put an indelible scar in my heart, causing me pains daily as I move closer to my grave.

I am now 64 years of age. My undoing was the Visa Lottery I played in 2007. Prior to this time, all was well and going smoothly in our family. I had married my wife in 1985. We were blessed with three boys and a girl.

The girl, Moyosore was our first child. She was born in 1986. The boys came thereafter in 1988, 1990, and 1994.

My wife was a full-time housewife. She had everything at her request. A chauffeur-driven car, two house helps, and other conveniences were at her disposal. I was a trained and an accomplished electronic engineer and a senior management staff at the defunct NITEL

I travelled around the Nigeria. My assignments most times were between the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja and Owerri in Imo State. I however ensured that I was in Lagos at least twice a month to see my family. That was between 1986 and 1997.

I retired in 1999 to start my own private company which continued to triumph to God's glory.

In 2007 I joined several other Nigerians to play the visa lottery of the United States. I was among the few thousands who won. I was happy, not because of myself but because of my two younger children who would have the benefit of automatic citizenship of America.

My older children Moyosore and Aanuoluwapo were already schooling in Canada at the time.

Hmmmmm... One of the major conditions for granting the visa was blood screening, and conduct of DNA for beneficiaries' dependants. I had submitted necessary documents, and made payments for our screening at the popular St. Nicholas Hospital on Lagos Island. We did the tests as recommended. The results were to be sent directly to the embassy.

I got a letter at a later date that I should present my passport and my wife's for visas. On enquiry, they said the kids I presented weren't mine. I almost lost my sanity! My kids weren't mine? "Is that possible?" was my unending song. I found it difficult to comprehend. Because it happened close to my birthday celebration, I invited Moyo and Aanu home - under the pretext that they were coming to celebrate with me - and had their DNA carried out. Alas, only Moyosore was my authentic child!

I became sick, and almost passed on. I was hospitalized for one month. I eventually lost the opportunity to complete the processing of the visas as I was no longer myself. Of what need was the visa without my kids?

When I got over the shock, I confronted my wife. She was mad at me. She called me unprintable names and said I was a failure. I kept my peace and moved on. The following week, I invited her to a friend's party. On our way back I parked the car and pulled out of the road. She asked why, and I told her not to worry. I then raised the matter again. She rained abuses on me, and called me a drunk.

At that point, I pointed a pistol at her side and threatened to kill her and dump her on the abandoned road. I showed her a copy of the DNA I got on Aanu, and the notification I received from American embassy.

At that point my wife became a parrot. She swallowed her pride and confessed. She said Aanu was fathered by David, a friend and colleague of mine who was more of a brother than a friend. We had been friends for almost 30 years.

Tunde and Bidemi were sons of our house help Kingsley. Kingsley was from Benue. He worked with us for almost 15 years. I had noticed my wife's special interest in him but never knew he was sharing her with me.
It has been 10 years after the ugly incident, and revelation. I survived the shock but Adunni never! She died two years after. She didn't wait to tell the kids and sort out the problem and havoc she caused.
Till date the children are unaware of my predicament. They are doing well. The last, Bidemi, now 23, is working in a multinational company. He graduated at 19. His two brothers and sister are also doing great overseas.
Now I am 64. I have written my will again and again. I have deleted the names of the boys from my last will, even though I have not gathered enough courage to inform them that I am not their biological father. I have not told anyone either, and it is killing me day by day.
Should I inform them all, or tell only my only daughter who is my only biological child??
Or I should just die with the secret??
THIS MAN NEEDS YOUR ADVICE!

quote author=KEVIND post=117919338] I Prefer To Speak At Rallies And Gatherings - Tinubu Says As He Rejects Arise Television Interview Invite

When contacted, Keyamo wondered why some Nigerians are fixated on interviews when Tinubu is already addressing issues raised at events and rallies.

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has said he prefers to speak at rallies and gatherings.

He said this on Wednesday through his spokesperson after a journalist, Oseni Rufai, one of the anchors of the “Arise Morning Show” on Arise News TV had tweeted that having interviewed other presidential candidates such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Omoyele Sowore, they eagerly await Tinubu’s presence on the show.

We eagerly await the APC presidential candidate for an interview on Arisetv, we have had Obi, Atiku, Kwankwaso, Sowore, and others. We will like to hear his ideas for Nigeria and chat about them!”.

Reacting, the Chief Spokesperson of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council and Minister of State, Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo (SAN) in a chat with DAILY INDEPENDENT said Tinubu is already addressing issues raised by Nigerians at rallies and gatherings.

He added that the party's presidential candidate is not mandated to sit for an interview in order to address issues raised by Nigerians on his plans for the country ahead of the 2023 general elections.

According to him, the most important thing is for Tinubu to speak to Nigerians and he has been doing that.

“Asiwaju Tinubu has been speaking at rallies and gatherings. The most important thing is that he is speaking to Nigerians. What’s all this fixation about sitting down in an interview?”

“He is speaking everywhere he goes. Are they not seeing him? He is addressing issues. He is talking to Nigerians everywhere he goes” Keyamo said.
