Is it just me? This write up seems like someone is trying to paint Ambode as a governor who is not ruled by godfatherism. It seems like whoever wrote this article is trying to overemphasise the idea that Ambode is not giving away Lagos money to his godfathers and elders and only spending the money on projects in Lagos.
Is it possible for him to be sponsored by people and once elected and in power not pay back?

Abeg what does this mean? You are trying to justify the reason why the life of someone was cut short. Did you read where the man offered to deposit money for his treatment? What hospital does not have a bank account.? Why insist on cash deposit? May you never find yourself in this situation. I agree with the op, Nigerian doctors don't value the life of their patients even their fellow doctors and nurses. A woman, a nurse in a particular private hospital in Lagos lost her child because of the doctor's negligence. The same hospital she works in. I was doing my IT then with the intention of reading a Master's degree in the medical sciences. That singular event changes my decision. If they can't take care of the people they see everyday, I am not surprised they treat strangers as they please.
Baxk to the topic. No matter what, his family would have come looking for him and no matter what no amount of money can be worth a life. The whole process is f**ked up. As a doctor, you could have administered first aid, stabilize the patient and then start the wahala of collecting payment. I hope what the doctor did comes back to hunt him. I hope for everyone who could have helped another human being but decided to choose money instead be paid back in their own coin.

The issue about Doctors and emergency cases is like this can only be resolved with good health insurance scheme. Probably all they need to do is to scan the man's finger print , get him treated and the Insurance coy pays the bill.

The way people fly into conclusion. She is wasteful, she dey form, bla bla bla.
It could be their first date together and she was shy eating in front of him hence her inability to eat much.
It could be she was trying to give the impression she is not a glutton hence eating little
It could be she didn't like the food. No one asked if she ordered that meal or the guy ordered for both of them.
It could be she was too shy to ask for takeaway pack. I am sure if the waiter asked her, she would have said yes.
Again why didn't the guy ask if she wanted to take it away or just ask for it to be packed and hand it over to her. It's the same people who will still call her out for being a glutton or a hungry girl if she asked the rest to be packed. They will say she wants to have it as her dinner.
Something similar happened to me. It was a Chinese restaurant. We both asked the waiter to recommend a nice spaghetti dish. It was very nice. The portions were large, I tried to eat as much as I could but there was a lot left. My date sensing my dilemma asked it to be packed for me. I forgot it on the way out and he went back to get it for me. That's what happens when you go out on a date with someone who doesn't assume.

They sat down and ordered food (half chicken with chips and salad 2 plates which cost N3,500 each.

The boy ate his meal wells and finished his chicken real good, but guess what the girl did not even eat up to half of the chicken and she said she was okay.

When they were about leaving I was thinking the girl would at least ask for a take away pack so you goes with the chicken because it was big ooo. But she just called the waiter and asked them to clear the table.

Speaking from experience. First send a formal mail to the HR seeking confirmation of your appointment. The email should have details of your appointment letter like starting date,how long you've worked, job description and terms and conditions of employment. Bear in mind that this may lead to a review of your performance so get ready for that. Normally during the review (mine was questioners and oral review) you may have a chance to mention a raise when asked about your expectations.
Based on the result of your review, you can then formally ask for a raise along with any other benefit your company offers confirmed staff.

Please @autojosh, the bridge and road are nowhere near completion. It is still hell for us living there. Construction of the bridge stopped over 5 months ago. They are expanding the roads leading to Alagbole junction but the gridlock at the bottom of the new bridge (since they destroyed a part of the old bridge) during rush hour is horrible coupled with the fact that they have refused to fill and level the small dirt part motorist are now forced to use.
If you truly want to report unbias, please take a camera and visit when its 5.30pm till very late at night to see how motorists suffer to pass through that small portion left for us to ply. Even bikes find it difficult as the place is too narrow for cars. The other day I spent over 2 hours on that tiny portion that should take 10 minutes tops during rush hour to cross over the river and it didn't even rain that day.
The bridge is just there like a white elephant. Seeing it just adds to the frustration we go through.
Greed and selfishness made them start the construction of that bridge. They could have just widened Yakoyo, Celebustop and maybe renovate the formal bridge. But I guess that would have looked out of place if they put something billion of naira as the budget for its construction.
The Akute bridge has long been abandoned and I won't even talk about the roads that lead from Berger to Akute through Denro. If that road was motorable, maybe the pressure won't be so much on the Alagbole Yakoyo road.

My business was 1 year in February and honestly, it has been a learning process. I won't say it is 80% where I want it to be yet but it is striving. I had to include selling online also to increase the revenue my shop generates. When I decided to start selling online, the problem I first encountered was that the items which do well on online shopping platforms are different from what the offline customers want. I also had to learn to differentiate fake from the original products also which is very important if you want to maintain a good relationship with your customers.

This is far from airing minds. It has become a bashing thread for people who applaud her views by those who don't support it. Its all about choice. For the fact, a woman prefers a partner and not a master is her choice.
My dad cooks even while my mum is home. She has never hand washed his clothes either. Before both retired my dad took care of all the expenses and mum supported by adding her money to the feeding allowance to get all the kinds of foods he likes to eat. Till date, my dad pumps water, cooks and when he is finished with his meal, clears the dishes to the kitchen if no one is close by, cleans sometimes and even goes shopping. He does all this while my mum is around. She either joins him or gets busy doing something else.

Protection and provision? So those that don't/ can't protect or provide are .....? It really cracks me up. if we are to go by this then no man should seek assistance from his wife/women in his life for financial assistance. He should carry the burden of providing and protecting alone. In Nigeria today, where an average family needs two or more sources of income to be comfortable, it is close to impossible.
