Romance / Tension As Girlfriend Rejects N1.5m Man Wanted To Pay Her Off With After 11 Abor by chinenye497: 3:36pm On Jan 14, 2021
A young man took to social media to seek advice on how to handle his relationship problem.

The man said he was in a relationship with this lady for about nine years, of which the lady did eleven abortions, and the last one almost took her life, which led to the removal of her womb.

Read his statement below;

"Hi there, I am 36 and about to settle down. I dated a lady for about nine years, or thereabout. She got pregnant several times, and we both opted for abortion. We both took the decision.

Several times, I tried to tell her the danger of this, and how to protect herself. This lady doesn't know her safe period and all that. In 2017 after the last abortion, her uterus got infected. And that made her bleed and smell for months and was finally removed. That was the point I realized that the journey to our forever has ended.

Romance / Be Careful What You Say About Others by chinenye497: 9:56am On Jan 05, 2021
I attended a funeral service in the village. After the funeral service, I met one of my cousins, whom I have not seen for over four years.

After exchanging pleasantries, she dragged me to where her husband was standing with another cousin. She was so excited, and in my heart, I was like, is it this short man that Adaora is excited about any way I greeted him and left.

All my life, I have never liked short guys. I use to laugh at my friends who married short men.

When suitors started coming for me, all of them were short men. Jesus!!! Where did I go wrong? Is my past now hunting me? I remember when I was growing up, they were this guy who owned a chemist shop.

If you take your child to his shop for treatment and your child is ugly, he would so make a mockery of that child. At the time, he was not married, so everybody waited for him to get married and start having children.

Religion / King Makers Do Not Look Like Kings by chinenye497: 9:45am On Jan 05, 2021
A man narrated this personal story of his.

His words….. Many years ago I was working as a clerk at a faculty in one popular university in Nigeria, then I saw an advert for NDA (Nigeria Defence Academy), I have always loved to go to NDA so I applied, submitted my form and was called for admission examination.

I had to travel to Kaduna all the way from Osun State, I have a distant uncle that was resident there then, I wrote a letter(no telephone) to my uncle that I was coming to sit for an exam in Kaduna and will love to stay in their house.

I didn’t get a reply to my letter even as my departure date was approaching. I became so worried because I needed to go anyway, as I was talking to a colleague in the office concerning my fear of where to stay, our office cleaner who was a Hausa man overheard us and in his broken English interjected that he knows someone right inside NDA.

Who could he know there, is it not a cleaner like himself, I unintentionally said it out to his hearing.
“oga no o,the commandant op za NDA na ma classmate and ma priend”.
In his bad handwriting, he scribbled the comandants name on a piece of paper.
“Just mention my name por am, him go helf you”.

Business / Here Is What To Do To Prevent Hackers From Taking Over Your Website by chinenye497: 5:18pm On Jan 01, 2021
Hacking is a very serious problem for today’s Websites. It is important to pay a lot of attention to the security of your hosting account, most especially your Cpanel. It should be well-protected to prevent hackers from taking full control of your website.

However, some aspects of account protection depend not only on your hosting company but also on the owner of the account.
Last week, my website was hacked. After my hosting company helped me recover it, I had to do thorough research on how to protect my website from desperate hackers. ( link to things to do to protect your WordPress website from desperate hackers).
We all know how important hosting is to a website. Without a hosting company, your website is as good as useless.
Now first things first, in order to efficiently and completely protect your website, you have to make sure that you protect your hosting account, most especially your Cpanel because your hosting company has a back up of your website, but if these hackers get hold of your hosting account details, then you will make it difficult for your hosting company to recover your site when it is been stolen.
Below is how you can protect your hosting account (Cpanel).
1. Use a username and password that cannot be guessed.

Always ensure that you use a password that cannot be guessed. Some people set a password that is easy to remember for easy access. It is strongly recommended to avoid using passwords that consist of dictionary words, names of your relatives, friends or pets, important dates, cities, etc. These passwords are not secure as it is really easy to find such information about you, especially if you have an account in any of the social networks.

When we register on a site for one purpose or the other, we are requested to fill in our personal data. some important personal data can be gathered during several online conversations with you by means of email, forum, chat, or in a social network. So in case, your password is your pet name or your birthday, do not be surprised if your account gets hacked.
Also, hackers have special tools that can be used to get your password (cryptanalytic atta). The main idea of such attacks is checking all possible words until the correct one is found. Such attacks can be successful if your password is a simple word from a dictionary.

Religion / Miracles Comes From Above But It Doesn’t Fall From Heaven People Are Required To by chinenye497: 7:45pm On Dec 23, 2020
I want to share two old stories with you, and see how you would choose !

” *Story* *One*”
A certain company has a tradition of holding a party and a lottery every Christmas Eve.

The rules of the lottery draw are as follows: each employee pays ten dollars as a fund. There are three hundred people in the company. In other words, a total of three thousand dollars can be raised. The winner takes all the money home.

On the day of the lottery draw, the office was filled with a lively atmosphere. Everyone wrote their names on a slip of paper and put them in the lottery box.

However, a young man by name Karl, hesitated when he wrote. Because he thought that the company’s cleaner has a frail and sickly son who was going to have an operation recently, but she did not have the money to pay for the operation. This made her very troubled.

Religion / The Useless And Hopeless Girl Has Become The Pillar Of The Family by chinenye497: 5:49pm On Dec 19, 2020
Love and prayers are two important virtue that Christians need. The bible admonishes us to love and pray always not just for ourselves and loved ones, but also for our enemies.

They both work side by side. You cannot claim to love someone and not pray for the person. We are supposed to always pray for those we love.

Just like the saying: Love conquers all things likewise, prayers also conquers all things. So you see, they both work side by side.

The Bible says that God gave us his only begotten son because of the love which he has for us. Jesus gave up his life so that we can be saved. Even while he was disgraced and beaten like a thief, he still prayed and asked God not to hold it against us, and he did it out of love.

Steven, while he was being stoned to death also prayed and asked God to forgive those who plotted evil against him. It is only those who love you that will pray for you even when you are killing them.

Sometime in 1994, I lost my father and was left at the mercy of my uncle who is now late, and his wife. I was twelve years old then.

My mum had passed on much earlier. I was the only child of my parents. So when I lost my dad, I had no choice other than to live with my uncle and his wicked wife.

Celebrities / See The Hushpuppi Generation: Fake It Till You Make It. by chinenye497: 4:57am On Dec 13, 2020
My mother graduated in 1965 & got a teaching job at Government College, Ibadan.
The teachers were given car loans & she bought a brand new Opel Kadett. They were to pay back the loan over 4 years. However, one of the teachers took half of the money the others took as loan, bought a fairly used car & got a driver.

So, when other teachers would drive to school & park their brand new cars, his driver would drop him off in the morning & come pick him at closing.

My mum said they laughed at him, calling him “Acting Big Man” because he got a driver, but he’d just smile.
One day, one of the teachers had cause to go out of the school during school hours. He returned to report that he saw his colleague’s driver using his car as taxi!

Religion / God Is Always On Time – It’s Never Too Late With God by chinenye497: 10:40am On Dec 12, 2020
It’s never too late with God. What are those situations that give you sleepless nights, and you feel it’s too late, nothing can be done about it?

Have you been married for so many years without a child to call your own, and now menopause has caught up with you and the Doctor says that there is no hope, it’s too late you can’t have children anymore?

Have you been waiting on God for a life partner, and now you are 45 years or even 50 years and everybody says it’s too late, you are too old to get married?

Is your child, father, mother, brother, sister, wife, or husband sick and the doctor says it’s too late?

Did you go to apply for a job and you are told, you should have come yesterday, the position has just been taken.

God is assuring us that it’s never too late with him. That situation that seems impossible with man is very possible with God.

In the book of John chapter 11, the bible explains how Mary and Martha, the sisters of Lazarus sent for Jesus when Lazarus was sick. And when Jesus heard about it, he said “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”

Business / Nine Secrets Behind Every Successful Business by chinenye497: 2:55pm On Dec 11, 2020
Every business has its secrets, no doubt about that. But some secrets are common to every business.

1. Love what you do: Never do a business that you are not passionate about. ( Read the post on setting up a business). Do not do business because Mr. A and Mr. B are successful in the business.

That may be what they are destined to do. So even when they are facing challenges which you may not be aware of, they are still able to move on.

But if it’s not what you are passionate about, when the challenges come, you may not be able to stand it.

2. Be consistent: just keep at what you are doing, every business has its ups and downs, but the consistent ones are the ones that succeed.

3. Be punctual: You must be punctual at your business place. The problem with many business owners is that they feel they can resume whenever they like since there’s nobody to query them.

Such businesses don’t last because after sometime, you will start losing your customers.

Business / Factors To Consider When Setting Up A Business In Nigeria by chinenye497: 2:35pm On Dec 11, 2020
Before setting up a business, there are a couple of factors that you need to consider.

1. Ask yourself if you truly want to go down the business lane. Setting up a business is not as easy as people paint it to be. And business is not for everybody. Business is for strong people, people who can stand whenever they fall. People who can stand losses. Because whether you like it or not, once in a while you will experience losses. How you react to losses in business matters a lot. If you are not strong, you can have a B.P. In business, they are ups and downs. So someone who’s not prepared for the ups and downs will not be able to stand the test of time.

2. Make up your mind: Now that you are sure you truly want to do business, you need to make up your mind about it.

3. Think of the business that you want to do: Now they are certain factors to consider when thin
king about the kind of business that you want to set up.

Romance / My Journey Through Depression And How I Was Able To Handle It by chinenye497: 1:53pm On Dec 10, 2020
There is no problem you are facing today that other people have not faced before. That problem that is making you depressed, people went through it yesterday and people will still go through it tomorrow.

Two years ago, I was invited to a friend’s bridal shower party. At the party, I ran into an old friend and she was looking very pretty. Babe how you fine like this? I asked her because she was looking prettier than the last time I saw her. She said; my friend forgets, what you are seeing oh!! all of them na wash. We both laughed. But seriously what is the secret? She took a deep breath and started telling me what she went through and how she even went into depression. I opened my mouth for a long time. I was speechless the only word that kept coming out of my mouth was wow!!!

Someone else also shared a story of how she almost died as a result of depression.

Read the story below;
The trauma started in 2016(undisclosed situation).

In 2018 it grew into depression..it affected my productivity so bad I needed to quit my job. Same yeah, I lost the best friend I had, the only person who knew everything I was going through then. I couldn’t recover that pain. I went into severe depression in 2019.

In August 2019, I started having a consistent migraine that never disappeared with medication. In September the pains grew from just a migraine to a heart attack. I started having difficulty breathing. I remember the fateful Sunday I slummed gasping for air. I had already called a doctor and sent someone people to call a doctor for me because I was having a heart attack.

He arrived on time and gave me all the injections that I needed. Instead of getting better, I became worse. I was losing my breath again, my friends started praying they did everything to make sure I was alive. I can never forget that experience.

I felt a bit better to move though I still could not move properly. Tuesday the same week, I lost my breath again and this time I was rushed to UUTH. I was examined and ran all the tests which all came back negative. They could not diagnose what was wrong with me. As a result of that, they could not prescribe any drugs as well. So I was living by the grace of God. I lived through that pain till January this year.
I started having a series of anxiety. From March to May, it became a daily thing. I dealt with dizziness, weakness, and bad moods. And I felt a little better after the lockdown.

In August 2020, the migraine came back accompanied by sleepless nights and a pain in my heart that affected my breathing. I started indulging in alcohol (vodka) to enable me to sleep. This continued till the ending of October.
It took me a lot to reach out to my mentor with tears in my eyes. I needed help and she recommended a psychiatrist and I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety.

I lost every possession I had this year, and picking every little piece is hard, but I am grateful for life. My Mentor would say YOU HAVE A SMILING DEPRESSION. It cost me a lot to smile all through it all.

This year has been tough to many, so if you have survived through it all be grateful.

After hearing her story, I decided to write down ways to handle depression.

Religion / Opinion: Why Nigerian Pastors Will Continue To Grow Richer by chinenye497: 9:54am On Dec 06, 2020
The economic situation in Nigeria has forced Nigerians to think that their problems are more spiritual than physical, and the only way out is the church. We agree that Africans especially Nigerians are very diabolic, but most pastors are taking advantage of vulnerable Nigerian citizens to enrich themselves.

So they organize church programs every week all in a bit to extort money. If they are not asking for tithe, they are asking for seed. Not like it is bad to pay tithe or sow a seed, but it should be done willingly and not be cajoled into it.

In the parish where my mum worships, they are always contributing money for one project or the other.

If they are not contributing money for the priest to buy food, they are contributing money for a seminarian or the diocese or one church project or the other. These are old women in the village whose only source of livelihood is from their farm produce.

Pastors Matthew Ashimolowo and Alex Omokudu live in sprawling seven-figure mansions while their huge congregations are told to hand over money often straight from their salaries.

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the founder of the Salvation ministry with headquarter in Port Harcourt, during one of his sermons, said that he will never be poor again. He said that he has made so much money that he can never experience poverty no matter what happens.

This pastor built a church complex that can accommodate 50,000-seat known as ‘Faith Tabernacle’, which is listed in The Guinness Book of Records as the world’s largest church auditorium. In keeping with his Word of Faith guidance, Pastor Ibiyeomie commissioned the construction of a 426,820,sq. ft. worship center conceived in the shape of ‘The Hand of God,’ with five “finger” halls projecting from the ‘Palm’ of the Main Tabernacle. The compound encompasses the Youth Hall, the Children’s Church, the Kingdom Heritage Model School, the Faith Academy Secondary School, and the Covenant University facility, which accommodates over 7,000 resident students.

Religion / Woman Gives Birth To Triplets After 18 Years Of Marriage. by chinenye497: 3:53pm On Dec 04, 2020
A lady has taken to Facebook to share a story of her cousin who gave birth to triplets after 18 years of marriage.
The woman who was constantly mocked by family members, friends, and neighbors was finally blessed with triplets.
She writes;

After 18 years of mockery, name-calling, and all sort, God has finally blessed my cousin with the fruit of the womb, not 1, not 2, but 3 beautiful souls. It's a testimony I will ever live to remember, to God be the glory.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, a young man ( name withheld ) gave a testimony in church about how God blessed his 60 years old auntie, who has been married for 21 years with a child.

He said she has been believing God for the fruit of the womb for 21 years. Her father-in-law swore that she would never hear a cry of a baby in her home.

Friends and family members constantly mocked and laughed at her. She has been praying and visiting prayer houses, but all to no avail.

Family / While My Husband Was Lying In The Mortuary, The Police Accused Him Of Committing by chinenye497: 3:01pm On Dec 04, 2020
A lady identified as Tolulope Angel Sofodu Ojuroye has shared a sad story of how she lost her husband.
Read the story below;

On the 1st of September, I woke up next to my husband, dressed for work, and woke him to tell him I was done and ready to leave. He asked me to open his cupboard and pick the money for the month. I went there but didn't see it.

Then he got up and said; You just want me to stand up. However, he gave Ie the money and asked me to count it. Then he said that the money wasn’t complete yet and that he will give me the balance when I returned from work.

I was glad that he even gave me part of the money. (the reason why I was glad would be known soon). I left for work and since it was the beginning of the month was busy. From about 3:30 to 4 pm, I had a client over.

I was with them when I heard in my spirit. CALL HIM; CALL YOUR HUSBAND. I was with my phone at the time so I called him (Still grateful to God that I called him and we spoke). When I closed from work and got home, he wasn't home.

I thought perhaps he took a stroll that evening after talking to me, since he has been home all day, and they have been working from home since March. I prepared dinner and waited for him to get back.

I was laying on the bed when his younger sister's call came in and told me she spoke to one police officer who told her they found my husband's phones on the ground. I got up immediately and started wondering where he went, he would have been looking for the phones I thought to myself. I got dressed and left for the police station.

Before I left the house, I called my younger sister to inform her that I was going to the police station. On getting there, I saw the officer, he kept me in their office and told me my husband committed fraud of 10 million and that he had confessed. Immediately asked them to let me see him. He requested to see my husband's sister whom he spoke with, and that she should come along with her husband. I kept begging them to let me see him. I tried convincing them that he wasn't that kind of person and that he lives his life as it comes.

They started asking me a series of questions. it was so annoying. I was there till past 9 pm till his sister came, and they said they need to go search of our house. We set out to go, on the way, his sister asked for my brother in law’s number (my younger sister’s husband ) at that moment I was like, I haven't even explained to my dad what was going on or even my elder sister.

When we got home, one of the officers went to see my landlady, while the other came to the house. After his supposed search, he told me to stay back at home but I refused. Then the other came and sat down. I sat down too and waited for the next line of action.

Religion / The Missing Groom by chinenye497: 2:48pm On Dec 01, 2020
The members of the Praise Band had by now become exhausted. They had been singing for almost straight three hours. The groom, Frank, was a band member too. So they had actually prepared to give their own the very best ministration.

But it was now almost time for the reception, yet the groom had not showed up. The congregation was quite restless. Had the groom suddenly forgotten it was his wedding day? Or had something befallen him? Uncertainty was written all over their faces. But one thing that was sure was that he told his friends and the bride, Anita, that he was going somewhere but would definitely return.

The family of the bride were the most worried. Should Frank not show up at all, how would they contain the shame taking Anita back into their house? This morning, Anita’s father and mother had called her to themselves and bid her farewell concluding with some words of advice. And when she was finally set for the church she went and knelt down before them to receive their final blessings. Now how would they take back that which they had given out long ago, though if not physically but in their minds?

Anita was sweating profusely. To say she was uncomfortable was to say the least. She was visibly shivering. What degree of embarrassment! She knew some of her friends envied her greatly. She could, even in her distress, notice some giggling and conspiratorial winks among them.

Religion / Wear My Shoes First Before You Talk About It by chinenye497: 8:57am On Nov 30, 2020
We often judge people’s actions without really knowing the reason behind their actions. If we would close out mouth, and look closely, we will discover how wrong our judgements are most times.

Circumstances and conditions of life makes people act the way they do most times.

We see a lady in her late forties and still not married the first thing that comes to our mind is she was so selective towards her suitors and now she’s still single. Or she has bad character, or attitude problems that’s why she’s still single.

We talk most times before we think. What if the lady has been having marriage disappointments, what if no man has ever approached her. Or don’t you know that there are ladies out there whom no man has ever approached?
