Romance / What To Look For In A Partner by chinenye497: 6:53pm On Nov 26, 2020
The question “what are you looking for in a relationship partner?” may seem like an easy one to answer. Common attributes that come to mind include intelligence, kindness, sense of humor, attractiveness, or reliability. No matter what we think we’re looking for in a partner, the people we wind up choosing don’t necessarily match our criteria for an ideal companion. The reason for this is very simple; we don’t always want what we say we want.

The laws of attraction aren’t always fair. We may think we are looking for a partner who complements us only in positive ways, but on an unconscious level, we are frequently drawn to people who complement us in negative ways as well. What this means is that we tend to pick partners who fit in with our existing emotional baggage. We are inclined to replay events and dynamics that hurt us in the past in our adult relationships. We choose partners who fit in with destructive patterns, not because we enjoy them, but because they’re familiar.

When choosing a life partner, it’s important to break free from harmful tendencies from our past. Consider the people you’ve previously chosen to be with and think about why it didn’t work out. Were they too controlling? Passive? Jealous? Elusive? Did they make you feel a way you felt in your past? Did the situation mirror a dynamic from your childhood?

While we can’t know for certain all the good and bad characteristics our partner will bring to the table when we first meet them, there are certain universal traits you might want to look for in a relationship partner that will ensure a happier outcome. No person is perfect, of course, but here are eight key qualities to look for in a partner:

Romance / Being Single Is Not A Bad Thing, But Rushing Into Marriage Can Be A Bad Thing by chinenye497: 6:44pm On Nov 25, 2020
Yes, marriage is a blessing, and it is good to be married, no doubt about that. But being single, on the other hand, is not necessarily a bad thing it is not a curse, neither is it a sin or a disease. But rushing into marriage can be a bad thing.

Your age does not matter to God. Whenever the time is right for him, he will bless you with the right person as long as you wait on him. If Abraham and Sarah’s age didn’t matter to God when he blessed them with Isaac, why should yours be a problem?

He makes all things beautiful in his time. God’s time is the best. All he needs from us is obedience to his words, trust, and patience. Waiting on God is never an easy thing to do, but it’s worth it at the end of the day.

Do not rush into marriage for any reason whatsoever, be it peer pressure, family pressure, or simply because you feel you aren’t getting any younger because you will regret it later in life. 99% of the people I know who got into marriage out of desperation are regretting it today. Some of them want out while some are just waiting for an opportunity to quit, and the others are wishing that they were still single.

So he did not notice that I was sick.

The only thing he noticed was that I was avoiding him. He asked me severally what was eating me up, but I would not tell him because I did not dare to do so. So one day, he broke the news that he was getting another wife. Look, Lizzie, I am tired of this your cold attitude towards me. So am getting another wife. I was too shocked to alter a word.
The next day, he came back with the lady. They moved my things to the guest room. I was too weak to fight back, so I stayed they quietly and continued battling with my life. Crime / Three Children Found Dead Inside A Car At The Residence Of Retired Police Office by chinenye497: 6:14pm On Nov 24, 2020
Wonders shall never end, and the Nigerian police force will never cease to amaze me. Barely three hours after we heard about a young man who was shot dead by a policeman in Rivers State, another information reaching us now says that three children were found dead in a car parked at the residence of a former police officer.

Yesterday being the 23rd day of November 2020 bodies of three missing children were found in a car parked at the compound of a retired police officer at Ugwu Ogede in Itchi, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The children identified as Chinenye Eze, Chibugo Eze, and Ebuka Ene, were reported missing after they went to fetch water at a commercial borehole owned and located at the compound of the retired police officer.

Two other children identified as Kingsley Eze and Mmasichukwu were rescued from the same car, a source said.
After the children were revived, they said that three men with hood abducted them and left them in the car. The hoodlums returned in the middle of the night to take them away, but they couldn’t open the faulty car doors, so they abandoned the kids and ran away.

Fashion / The Way You Dress Has A Lot To Say About Your Personality by chinenye497: 3:05pm On Nov 23, 2020
The term fashion generally means a style that is popular at a particular time, especially in terms of clothes, hair, make -up etc. But I would like to define fashion as making the ordinary appear sophisticated. I have discovered that most times, it’s not the amount of money a particular dress, shoes, belt or even make – up cost that gives the person wearing it a good appearance or a sophisticated look. Rather, it’s how the dress or whatever else is worn and how the person carries him or herself.

I can wear a quite affordable dress and shoe and still look really sophisticated while another person may wear a very expensive dress and shoe and look very bland and ordinary. It mostly depends on our confidence in what we wear and how we look.

The way you dress as a single has a lot to say about your personality. You can attract or detract people with the way you dress.

The world today is crazy about fashion and singles want to be in the fore. But one thing most people do not know is that you need not wear what’s in vogue to look fashionable! And you do not have to wear something because someone you admire wore it. It could look good and attractive because it’s appropriate for the person’s figure and may not be on you. It’s always advice able to test a dress before the day you would like to wear it.

This will enable you know how good it looks on you, that is dress up like you are going for an event before the day of the event you plan to attend. This will help you eliminate what won’t fit and add what might be necessary.

A young lady should learn how to use shoes with heels! At least low heels. This is because some dresses just won’t look good on flat shoes. Stay away from loud make – overs, blushes are good, but there are not meant for everyone. This is because facial structures differ. Low waist pants are not for decent appearances.

Tips on what not to wear

Never wear slippers on tucked in shirt and trousers.

Never wear a flat soled shoe or slippers on a dinner gown or a dress.

Never wear a Gladiator shoe or sandals on a native skirt or gown

Checker shirt or trouser are better worn separately

Your tie and shirt colour do not always have to match. Just be sure not to use a red tie on a yellow shirt, or striped tie on a striped shirt. Or striped shirt on a striped trouser. Belt belts are not for everybody. Be sure not to look awkward and uncomfortable if you must wear one.

Always remember that there’s beauty in simplicity.

Religion / God Makes All Things Beautiful In His Time. by chinenye497: 9:09am On Nov 23, 2020
For many singles who are believers, one of the major concerns in their lives, is the issue of finding a partner and getting married.

Several have compromised their belief, disobeyed God and gotten accustomed to worry just because they think it’s time for them to get married and the spouse is not forth coming.

They forget that God makes all things beautiful in his time. Some begin to lower their standards, dress provocatively and do so many unnecessary things to impress instead of simply believing and patiently waiting on
God.

Waiting on God most times doesn’t seem to make sense, the waiting process can be very tedious and unpleasant but if you understand the plans God has for you, you’d agree it’s best to wait. The bible says that, they that endure till the end shall be saved.

God uses the period of waiting on him to transform us. I have faced storms that seemed absolutely obnoxious at the time only for the storms to pass and then I could clearly see the relevance of the experience and why God allowed me to pass through them.

God allows us to pass through storms for several reasons. It could be that there’s a lesson he wants us to learn from it, or he’s trying to refine and prepare us for a better task ahead.

Let’s take the story of Joseph as a case study. All the many storms he faced was to prepare him for the position of the prime minister of Egypt.

Maybe God is taking you through that storm because he’s preparing you for a better job, marriage, etc it’s only if you are patient till the end, that you will reap the fruit of your patience.

Religion / Good Things Don’t Come Easily by chinenye497: 1:28pm On Nov 22, 2020
A friend once said; On three occasions, I got a job with a snap of the finger and, I also lost them that same way. But the place where I am working currently, it took me one year to get the job.

And even though the money is not as plenty as the other places where I have worked before, I have peace, something I never enjoyed in those places.

And then I have some good people whom God used to uplift me in so many ways. Through them, I learned some things for free, which I tried learning some years back and was charged a huge sum of money.

Right now, I have learned a skill which is paying me ten times what I was earning before. You won’t believe that I also learned it for free. This is a blessing in disguise. Like the saying, all that glitters is not gold.

When I lost my last job before where I am currently, I thought the world had come to an end. Because all my life I had not gotten a job that paid that much, plus all the benefits that came with it. Free accommodation, free food, free transportation with small allowances, and so on.

But you see, with all of this in place, I had no peace of mind. But then, I didn’t know that God was preparing me for something bigger and better.

Good things don’t come easily. It took me one year of losing my job to be where I am right now.

The lesson I have learned so far is that when Satan takes away that thing which we desire and cherish so much, and God gives us something small as a replacement, we shouldn’t grumble because they might be a piece of gold buried inside it.

All we need to do is, to patiently find out why God took us there because you might realize later that where he has taken you to, is far far better than the place you thought was heaven.

If you read my post on “ Patience! one of the keys to a successful life, you will see that it pays to patiently follow God and, allow his will to be done because the will of God is the best thing that can happen to anybody.

Religion / Powerful Effect Of Praying With Your Spouse by chinenye497: 10:52am On Nov 22, 2020
I was fast asleep, enjoying one correct breeze from my window when my phone rang. Chei! That day I felt like slamming the phone into the wall. I was so annoyed.

The call was from my mum. She was shouting on the phone.

‘Yetunde! Your father is in the hospital and you have not even checked up on him. Is this how you were raised! The Bible says-‘ she paused. ‘Just go and take care of him.’ The line went dead.

I stared at the phone wondering if I was dreaming. I had spoken to my father two days ago. Was it within those days that he fell ill? With mum far away in the UK tending to my sister’s new baby, I was really worried for him..

Sharp sharp I rushed to the hospital. You won’t believe what I saw when I got there. Dad was standing at the corridor with our family doctor laughing and clapping his hands. He was happy to see me. I looked at him, confused. ‘Dad, I thought they said you are sick.’ He frowned. ‘They? Who’s they?’

The doctor smiled. ‘Your dad has a little health challenge but with the treatments, he’ll be fine. Since your mum is not around, I’ll suggest he stays with you until she gets back.’

That night I brought dad home. My husband and I had an intense argument that nearly drove me crazy. ‘The tables have turned. You can bring your father to our home without my permission but my own mother cannot show up in her son’s house anytime she likes.’

‘That’s different. This is an emergency situation. Since we got married, have you ever seen my parents interfere with the decisions we make here?’

‘So my mother is a troublemaker, is that what you are saying?’ Of course she is… Lol..I didn’t tell him that.

I was just tired of going back and forth with him. There was always something to fight about. At a point, we had stopped talking to each other. It just seemed to be the safest way to avoid more fights. Go your way, I go my way.

When I served dad his food that night, I knew he sensed that something was wrong. He just stared at me and said nothing.

Two days later, dad called me to the guest room and asked why we don’t usually have family devotions in the morning. I told him that sometimes, I pray with the kids in their room.

‘Does Jide join you for the prayers?’ I shook my head. ‘No.’ ‘When last did you pray with Jide.’ I remained silent. ‘Yetunde, when was the last time you and your husband prayed together.’ ‘I can’t remember.’

I felt so ashamed of myself. I had grown up in a family where prayers and family devotion was the next best thing after our vacations. There were several nights I’d heard my parents’ voice in their room praying all night. Some other times, they’ll be in the living room discussing, their bibles opened in front of them.

Quietly I’d prayed for a marriage like theirs. The bond they shared. Their open expression of love. Their commitment to God. Dad suddenly stood up and began to pace the room. ‘Yetunde, you can go. I need to pray.’

Before I would step out of the room, my dad was already blasting in tongues. I sat in the living room, sad and disturbed. Then something happened that night.

We had just finished dinner when we began to hear gunshots. Dad was watching the news. My husband was in the room. Dad turned off the TV the same time my husband ran out of the room.

The sound got closer. I stood there shivering. My husband grabbed my two sons and ran into our bedroom. Dad just sat there unperturbed, muttering some words I locked the door and was about shutting the window when he stopped me.

‘Leave the window. The doctor said natural air is good for my health. I miss your mother. Days when the breeze is blowing like lightly like this, we’ll sit outside and tell stories.’

I stared at my father in shock. ‘Dad!’ The robbers came right to our door. My husband was back in the living room. I saw urine trickling down his boxers to his legs. As for me, I was on the floor saying my last prayers. More gunshots. ‘Open this door now!’

My heart died that moment. I thought of the life beyond. My business. My children. See, all manner of thoughts flew into my heart. My father calmly pulled the curtain aside. ‘In the name of Jesus, shut up!’

There was silence suddenly. Then my father did something unbelievable. ‘Gbenga Aderopo.’ Dad shouted. No answer. ‘If I call your name, say present ‘ ‘Gbenga Aderopo.’ ‘Present Sir!’ A man answered. ‘Peter Sukanmi. Ah, you that your wife has just been rushed to the labour room. Anu e semi. Peter Sukanmi. Are you there?’ The next thing I would hear, movement of feet scurrying away. My father unlocked the door. There was no one. When we stepped out, I saw the last person jump over our wall.

We got back inside. Jide was sweating profusely. Dad looked at Jide.

‘This is what would have happened tonight. They would have raped your wife in your presence and killed you.’ He turned his attention to me. ‘You see all that played out tonight, that’s the mighty hand of God’s deliverance. I had seen a picture of you lying on the ground dead. But we had been settled that in the spirit. Both of you need to stop yielding to your fleshly pride and get your heart back in unity. Kick out this coldness and allow the Holy Spirit rekindle love in your home.’

As he left for his room, my kids ran after him. ‘Grandpa, we are afraid, we want to sleep with you.’ Dad began to sing and dance ‘I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me, I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus loves even me.’ They giggled and laughed as they followed him to the guest room.

I knelt there and began to pray. I was crying and praying. I was asking for strength, for forgiveness, for help, for wisdom, for the renewal of the Spirit. Jide just held my hand and prayed silently.

That day was a turning point in my family.

*moral lesson*Forgive one another endlessly. Let not the sun go down upon your anger. rekindle the fire of love & pray always.

Religion / God Will Make Your Enemies To Be At Peace With You by chinenye497: 5:54pm On Nov 21, 2020
The bible says When a man’s ways pleases the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at
peace with him. Proverb 16:7

Now the question is how can this be achieved? For you to enjoy the peace the bible is talking about, God has to be pleased with you, and for God to be pleased with you, you have to first please him. You can please God in the following ways:

Obeying God’s word:

God is very pleased when we obey his word. Jeremiah 11:4 says so shall you be my people and I will be your God. And in verse 5 he says that God will give you a land flowing with milk and honey, what this means is that, he will prosper us when we obey his word.

Obeying God’s word is just simply doing the things which he wants us to do and avoiding those things which he doesn’t like. Like sin.

Studying God's word:

The lord is very pleased when we study the bible. He will not just make your enemies to be at peace with you but, he will also make you prosper. That’s why he says in psalm 1:1-3

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Praying for other people:

Most times we only remember ourselves, family and friends when we pray. But what we don’t know is that, when we pray for others, we are indirectly praying for ourselves too.

1 timothy 2:1-3 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

God is very pleased when we pray for other people. The bible scripture which says there is more blessings in giving than in receiving wasn’t just referring to physical giving. It was also referring to spiritual giving like praying for others.

When you pray for someone to have a child for instance, and God grants that request, God used your prayers to give that person a child. Indirectly, you have given, because whether you like it or not, you gave your time to pray for that person and God is very pleased with that.

When God is pleased with you, you will know. Am not saying that you won’t go through though times or experience hardship, like a lot of preachers make us to believe, but he would not only give you the grace, he will also help you and always make a way out of every problems you encounter.

You will experience favour every where you go, things that people see as difficult will be easy for you. Even those people whom other people see as wicked people will be willing to help you. The blessings which you will get when you please God are too numerous to mention.
Religion / Don’t Worry! God Is In Control Of That Situation by chinenye497: 5:22pm On Nov 21, 2020
You worry too much, just take it to God in prayers, there’s nothing to big for him to handle my mum would always say. A friend of mine always say, do not worry over any situation that you cannot change. There’s no point worrying over that situation which you can’t change because worries doesn’t solve problems rather it makes it worse. matt 6:25-34 says:

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I lost a cousin of mine last week. He was murdered by his wife. The young man’s uncle kept lamenting and asking God what he has done wrong to allow calamities befall him all the time.

Why did you allow this or that to happen to me, Lord why me? A lot of people always say. The question that I always ask such people is, if not you, then who? Are they people specifically created for such problems?

The truth is when calamities struck, there’s nothing anyone can do about it than to look up to God for help. We all have different problems, for some it’s their wife, husband, children, house rent, school fees, sickness, death of a loved one etc.

The gravity of some people’s problems are more. But one thing I know for sure is that, God can never give you more problems than you can handle. For you to appreciate God more, listen to other people’s problems.

A woman who loses a child should know that someone out there has lost two or more children. A man who loses a job should know that someone out there has been out of job for 10 years or more, Someone who loses a parent should know that someone out there is an orphan,

You think your problem is more? wait until you hear other people’s problems. When I lost my younger brother, I felt so much pain in my heart because he was very close to me. One of the sympathizers told my mum: ” There are people whose problems are more than yours and there are people also whose problems are less than yours. If we are asked to come out with our problems, some people will put their problems in a truck, some wheel barrow, some tank, some basin, some plate and some spoon.

Just imagine that you fall into the category of plate or even spoon, am sure when you see people whose problems are in truck or tank , you will sigh and say ” I have no problem and probably just turn and go back”.

Religion / The Blessing You Receive When You Answer God's Call by chinenye497: 4:55pm On Nov 21, 2020
When God calls you, you must answer that call. You cannot run away and, you can’t refuse. So many people who tried to run away suffered the consequences.

I have the call of God upon my life. Although I didn’t refuse or tried to run away, I suffered for not answering his call when I started noticing the signs.

And that was because I didn’t know at first, then when I knew, I didn’t know what to do. It took great discipline from God to keep me on my toes.

I first noticed the signs when I was in secondary school. My dreams always came to pass, but I didn’t know what to make of it or what to do so, it continued like that until I finished secondary school and entered the higher institution.

Then it graduated to always feeling very bad each time I sinned. I won’t have peace until I discontinued the act. And then, I started having the urge to help poor people, but at the time, I had just finished my diploma program and was waiting for admission to further. So I tried to wave that off because I felt I didn’t have what it takes to help the poor.
But it continued, so I joined an organization in the church that used to assist poor people in their little way. I can go on and on, but the summary of it all is that along the line, I stopped doing those things that God wanted me to do, and I suffered greatly for it.

We all have the call of God in our lives. For some, it’s to encourage people, pray for other people, helping the poor, reaching out to people, hospital and prison visitation, singing, ushering, etc.

The bible says; some have a call to be teachers, evangelists, preachers, prophets, apostles. Ephesians 4:11.
Many people, when told they have the call of God upon their lives, would say, but am not a pastor, so where do I start? Some would say; I can’t preach to people, so how do I answer the call. You don’t have to be a Pastor to answer God’s call. And preaching to people is not the only way to answer God’s call.

They are so many ways to serve God. You have to find out the area you have a call to serve God. It could be healing, praying for people, or evening singing in the church.

After you have discovered the area to which you have a call, the best place to start is the church. If you have a call to sing, join the choir. If you have a call to pray, join the prayer group. If you have a call to evangelize and you can’t do it on your own, join the evangelizing or outreach group. You can even do so on social media and so on.

Just have it at the back of your mind that you can’t run away from God. I have heard so many stories of people who tried to run away or refuse to answer God’s call and what happened to them. For some people, God had to take them through tough times, for some sickness, for some hardship.

He would do something to you that would make you come running back. The people who escape it are those people who answered immediately.

Sometimes when I hear some people’s stories, it makes me laugh. It’s just so funny how God does it. The story of Jonah in the bible still makes me laugh.

My aunt had to suffer severe hardship. She said that the hardship was so bad that her family could barely feed. She owed debts here and there until God finally showed mercy, and today all of that is a thing of the past. All the people who use to mock her now envy her.

The moment she retraced her steps, all of that became past tense. Today, she is happy. God has blessed her through her children. They are all doing very well.

The beautiful thing about answering God’s call is that you would have maximum peace, you would walk in good health, you would enjoy divine favor from God.

I am a living witness. Before now, I never use to have favor. Nothing works for me. Every time it looks as if I am stabilizing, everything I have work for would crash and, I would have to start all over again. It’s one problem or the other.
But now all of that has changed. God has been just too faithful. Sometimes, I don’t have to ask for him to do it. I don’t ask for a favor anymore. It just comes. People are willing to help me. If I ask God for something and he doesn’t give me, I thank him because I know it’s for my good. And it won’t take long for me to see the reasons why he didn’t do the thing I asked, and it always turns out to be for my good.

So if you are reading this post and you have the call of God, and you are still dragging your feet, the earlier you make up your mind, the better for you. Because you cannot hide from God. I assure you, you won’t regret it. It’s a beautiful experience and, the God that I know would give you the grace. Just allow him to use you, and you would be glad you did.

Religion / The Blessing That Comes With Giving by chinenye497: 7:30pm On Nov 20, 2020
Giving is like sowing, and in due season you will surely reap from it. The blessing that comes with giving is enormous. The bible says; He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack. Givers never lack.

Someone once told me a story about a popular Pastor who visited the poorest family in his congregation. He actually went to assist them with some money which they would use to take care of some financial problems.

However, for more than one hour that the pastor was with them, they couldn’t even offer him a bottle of water which is the cheapest thing that you can offer someone.

They felt that they were too poor to give. At the end of the pastor’s visit, he left without giving them the money he had planned to give to them. He said the family does not have a heart to give.

See the way this family lost a huge amount of money, just because they could not give the little they had.

You can not be too poor to give. The bible tells us stories about people who gave their last to men of God and the blessing they received in return. Let’s take the story of Elijah and the widow at Zarephath as a case study, see how God blessed her for giving.

Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. Then the word of the Lord came to him, go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food. So he went to Zarephath.

When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink? As she was going to get it, he called, “And bring me, please, a piece of bread.”

“As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”

Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’”

She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah. 1 Kings 17:7-16

The bible says, there is more blessings in giving than in receiving (Acts 20:35)

So learn to give, if you can’t practice it on your own, ask God to give you the grace so that you can enjoy the blessing that comes with it. God bless you
Religion / The Fear Of The Lord Is The Beginning Of Wisdom by chinenye497: 4:20pm On Nov 20, 2020
I wonder what this world is turning into. The other day, I went to sow a seed in one popular ministry.

I asked to see the man of God. The usher in charge asked why I wanted to see him, I told him, then he asked how much, I also told him.

He asked me to go inside. When I came out, another usher asked me why I went to see the man of God, not that it was any of his business, but then I told him.

He too asked me how much, I began to wonder why they were so interested in the amount.

Nevertheless, I told him 50k he said no wonder. I asked him why he said that.

He said that if it was a smaller amount like 5k or 10k, they wouldn’t have allowed me inside.

Then I began to wonder. This is a man so many people believe so much in.

The devil has really blinded so many men of God with worldly things.

Now I know he does not have the fear of God at all. Because if he did, he won’t discriminate.

The Bible says: “ The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom”. Some men of God do not fear God hence they lack wisdom.

The bible also made us to understand that wisdom is profitable to direct. And God also says “ if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask.

When you have wisdom, God will bless you with riches just the way he blessed King Solomon.

I don’t think some of this men of God understand this. That is why they do some of things they do.

Psalm 117 says: Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us,and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. And 1 peter 1: 15 – 17 says:

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.

When you fear God, you will hate sin. When you truly fear God, you will walk in prompt obedience, walk in health and restoration.

When you fear God, he ll guide you. Isaiah 30:21 says: Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

And psalm 25:14 says: The Lord confides in those who fear him he makes his covenant known to them.

Religion / How My Daughter Got A Miraculous Healing by chinenye497: 11:27am On Nov 19, 2020
Mummy!!!!! Mummy!!!! Sofia cried from her room a few minutes after I kissed her good night. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, running and shouting my husband’s name at the same time. Sofia was crying and holding her stomach, we quickly carried her to the car and rushed her to the hospital. This was the third time we had taken her to the hospital only to be told that they can’t find anything in the test result.

Doctor, you can’t keep telling me that nothing is wrong with my daughter. She has been throwing up for weeks now. Nothing she eats stays in her stomach. Please refer me to another hospital, I need to see pediatrics. My daughter is dying and you are telling me she’s fine.

The doctor made a few calls and told us that he has booked an appointment with a specialist in Lagos, he gave us the doctor’s number, we thanked him and left. The next day I called my boss to inform him that I won’t be at the office for a couple of days.

When we got to the hospital they were so many patients waiting to see the doctor. When it finally got to our turn, the doctor said we have to spend a few days at the hospital so they can run some tests and monitor her closely. When the test results were out, the doctor mentioned a word in the medical term which I have never heard before in my life and later explained that her intestines had issues which were the reason for the constant stomach problem.

Madam, there’s actually no cure for Sofia’s condition right now, the doctor told me, but I will give you some medications which will help her until when she will finally leave this world. Doctor, what do you mean? The doctor explained that Sofia does not have much time to live as her condition was critical.

We were discharged a few days later. I became so worried and afraid for my little girl. I lost faith in God because I couldn’t understand why God will allow Sofia to go through so much pain. Sofia was a Godly girl, a lover of God. So why would God allow her to suffer like this?

Sofia and my neighbor’s daughter were playing outside the house one day when my neighbor’s daughter Kim came to call me. She said Sofia had fallen into the well. They were playing around the well when Sofia suddenly fell inside. I really can’t explain what happened because I wasn’t there when it happened.

I called her father who immediately left the office and started coming home. And then I alerted the neighbors who offered to help. One of the neighbors brought someone who knew how to rescue people who fell into the well. And for hours they couldn’t rescue her. It was when some pressmen came to the scene that it was done on me that I had not prayed about the situation.

I immediately knelt down beside the well and started praying, my husband and some neighbors also joined. 30 minutes later she was found and brought out of the well. One of the neighbors who is a medical doctor checked her and said she was still breathing. Glory be to God. Little did I know that that was the beginning of Sofia’s miracle and the beginning of my testimony.

We rushed her to the hospital, after a series of tests, the doctor informed us that she was fine. No internal bleeding, no bruises, wow!!! this was unbelievable. After a thorough medical check, we were discharged from the hospital.
I noticed that Sofia no longer throws up like she used to, and she also stopped complaining about her stomach.

When we traveled back to Lagos for our monthly checkup, the doctor ran some tests and said that in 15 years of service as a medical doctor, he has never seen anything like this before. I didn’t understand what he was saying. He said that the result of the test showed that Sofia was completely healed. He couldn’t find anything in the test result.
Sofia fell into the well and instead of having more complications, she got healed.

I really do not know what your story is, I do not know the miracle which you are believing God for, but what I do know is that God is still a miracle-working God.

Religion / When God Is Silent In Times When We Need Him The Most by chinenye497: 6:39pm On Nov 17, 2020
My pastor always says that when we ask God for something, He says YES, NO, or WAIT. God’s timing is not the same as our timing. But one thing I know for sure is that God’s time is the best.

When God is silent, it is not because he is not aware of what we are going through or because he does not want to help. They are many reasons why God may be silent in times when we need him.

One of the reasons why God is silent is that he wants us to wait for a little while. These are one of the ways that God teaches us patience. Maybe you are not a patient person, so it could be that he wants to teach you patience.

Another reason could be that you are not mature enough to handle what you are requesting.

Just imagine a scenario whereas a Christian, you ask God for a car at the peak of your youth, probable your motive is to use it and enjoy life with your friends, and God says to wait until you are mature enough to own a car. Because at that time, all you are thinking about cruising with your friends instead of thinking about better things. And then a friend of yours gets a car, and you feel disappointed.

Now, this friend of yours gets an accident a few months later and dies. Then a few years later, God answers your prayer and gives you a car. Would you not be grateful to God that he didn’t grant your request earlier?

When God says WAIT, it could be for one month, six months, one year, or even twenty years. Now there’s nothing anyone can do to change God’s timing. All you have to do is to WAIT.

Imagine a scenario where your ten-year-old son comes to you and request a car. Would you buy him a car simply because he asked for it and you can afford it, and you do not want him to be sad? Your guess is as good as mine. Would you not rather say to him, son, you have to wait until you are old enough to own a car, then l’ ll get one for you? That’s the way it is with God.

Now when God says YES to your prayers, you see it manifest immediately. That is when you see people give testimonies about what God did for them.

In the same vein, when God says No, his No is No, and you cannot make him change that no matter how you pray and fast concerning that situation.

The second reason may be that he does not want you to have what you are requesting. So he says, no, my child, I can not give you what you are asking for because it will harm you in the future. And because we do not listen when God speaks, we do not know that he has said no. So we assume that he has refused to grant our request.

Then again, imagine another scenario where you see your six months old baby crawling towards a hot iron which you have just finished using. Then you quickly get there and take the iron away. Then he starts crying. Would you give him that hot iron simply because you want him to stop crying? You already know the answer to that, because you know that that he would cry even more when the iron burns him, not only that, you will spend money to treat him and the scar may never leave.

That’s the way it is with God. When we ask for something that he knows will destroy us in the future, he will never give it to us no matter how we cry.

The third reason why God may be silent is that he is testing our faith in him. He wants to see how we will react in certain situations. Just like in the case of Abraham when he made him wait for twenty-five years before giving him a child.

The fourth reason is that God is preparing you for greatness. Just like in the case of Joseph, when his master’s wife tried to seduce him and lied against him and was sent to prison over a crime that he did not commit.

So we have to learn to understand God’s principles. Whenever we ask God for something, we have to know if his response is YES, NO, or WAIT. That way, we will not be angry with God whenever we ask him for something, and he does not answer.

Religion / Why You Should Never Give Up On Your Dreams by chinenye497: 10:05am On Nov 17, 2020
Growing up, I had always wanted to go into large scale farming. So during the lockdown, I traveled to the village to spend some time with my mum. Because I didn’t want to be idle, I asked her to give me a piece of land to farm. So she gave me a piece of land at the back of our house. I hired some laborers to clear the land. When they had finished clearing, my mum and I packed all the grasses and burned them.

I didn’t bother tilling since I only wanted to plant maize and vegetables. Then I bought some birds and snails to rare. Two weeks into planting I fell ill. I was ill for about one week then it took me another one week to recover. My mum asked me to stop the farm work that I fell ill as a result of the work since I was not used to it. But I refused and told her that I must see the end of the work that I had started.

A piece of land that will take a farmer less than three days to plant took me one month lol. Kudos to all the farmers. The birds were growing very well, the snails we’re doing well too, then suddenly the birds started dying. The one that pained the most was the turkey. As if that wasn’t enough, when it was time to harvest the maize, I didn’t get anything substantial from it because most of the maize seeds were eaten by animals. I started crying and asking God why he allowed me to suffer like this and not get anything in return.

Religion / Re: How A Pastor Who Constantly Raped His Daughter Was Crushed by chinenye497: 6:54pm On Nov 16, 2020
EPISODE 2
I had had really bad days on earth but today…
Really really ‘badder’!
I limped out of the room where my blood had just been shed in pain and agony.
I wasn’t crying but tears flowed!
I didn’t have catarrh prior to this forceful intercourse but now, mucus flowed unstopped from my nostrils!
I was not so surprised that I was maltreated but I was flabbergasted that it could come from dad…and in that terrible manner.
I turned to look back at the door and he was there smacking his lips in an ‘I want more’ manner.
He looked like those hungry blood-thirsty vampires and ware wolves.
My heart yowled
I heard mum’s laughter and I looked towards the bathroom
She had soapy bubbles on her hands as she looked towards me.
She was laughing uncontrollably
“He has gone to deal with your evil spirit, right?” she laughed on
Evil spirit?
Really…was that the only thing she could see?
“He even broke your legs” she laughed even harder
Couldn’t she see far beyond that?
What was she whining about?
What was so funny?
Couldn’t she see that I was walking with such great difficulty?
Couldn’t she see blood on my cloth?
Couldn’t she hear noise from the room while the deed was been done?
Couldn’t she see?
Couldn’t she see that her ‘deacon’ husband had gone into a minor?
Was she that blindly insensitive?
Huh!
“I told you that my husband could be more dangerous than I. All his niceness was just a camouflage. He even beats me when I mess up. So who are you!” she laughed loudly again
I heard her children’s giggles too.
I turned to continue my seemingly unending journey to my room, feeling the tingling pains in between my legs.
As I managed to get inside the room that I shared with Sissy, I locked the door with finality.
I flung myself to the bed and wept frenziedly
What a nightmare!
“I love this. I love that I am the first to rip you open. I am glad that I can touch a virgin’s spilt blood. I am glad” he had said like a dramatic fool with such glee!
He went on his knees with his fists thrown in the air like a victorious gladiator in a ring!
I saw it like a 6D camera…
I screamed as if my eyes were being plucked out.
The memories of the five minutes thrust haunted me…
“I love you…I love you…I loved you since I saw you as a baby…I nurtured this thought since then… it’s a dream come true” he said as he destroyed my life, looking deeply into my teary eyes
Love?
So this is love?
This is what it means when people say ‘make love’
Love my foot!
I’d rather hate than ‘Love’ this way!
“Don’t cry. Aren’t you loving it?” he said again as he laughed
The more he said that, the more I hated him
The more I wished to stab him dead on the spot, exposing his dirty act to the whole world.
“Jesus, this is fucking great!” he exclaimed with great ecstasy as he brushed his sweaty smelly nose against my cheek
So Jesus is even aware of all these?
Their Jesus could allow this to happen to an innocent girl like me…
He could mention His name in this dirty act and he didn’t act or do anything?
I thought they said He was powerful
Why did He create sex?
Why couldn’t He stop this beast?
Why couldn’t He send fire and brimstone from heaven?
Couldn’t He?
Why?
“There is no Jesus!…if peradventure I am wrong, then He is not powerful! He isn’t a savior” those words poured out of my mouth accompanied by my tears
Wouldn’t He strike me down?
Wouldn’t He slap me for blasphemy?
I waited as I listened quietly, tears still streaming down
I heard nothing
I saw nothing!
“Maybe there isn’t any Jesus or God or whatever anyways” I concluded as I fell to the ground
It hurts!
It pains!
The pain in my tummy, down my legs made my thin legs to shiver uncontrollably
I had never felt that way before
As I felt the cold shiver down my spine and I shook vigorously, it felt as if my heart wanted to jump out of its cage.
It was that bad!
There was a knock at the door.
“Open this door” Mum called from outside
I looked towards the door and it looked so far.
How many minutes would it take for me to get to the door?
That would be ages…
“My children are late for school. Open this door” She banged louder
Tears streamed down my face again
I wish I could garner strength from somewhere but I couldn’t.
I looked towards the wardrobe and there was Sissy’s uniform
I wished I could draw it out magically so that she could have it but no…I couldn’t!
I was so weak that I couldn’t move a finger.
The coldness of the bare floor gave me such comfortability that I had to just concur to its embrace and acceptance.
“Are you crazy Mercy? Better don’t let me utter what is in my mouth because if I do, the ground would be higher than you” she shouted
I didn’t move
I knew it was very dangerous
I knew that I had aroused such anger that if she caught me, the ground would have me in, buried lifelessly but I couldn’t move.
I could just cry…
…And I did it well!
“Bobo, get me the electric kettle with the water in it. I will cook someone to death today.” She said angrily and she meant it!
She doesn’t make empty threat
But I didn’t stand up.
It was soothing as it touched my tummy directly
What was that?
It was like a hot pack against my hurting tummy
I tried lifting my hand and I cringed as I touched it….
Hot water!
She sent hot water streaming down from under the door.
Chai!
I tried to move away as I saw more steaming streams coming towards me.
“Mummy please” I screamed as I moved my sore body away from the door side
“Open this door, you fool!” she screamed the more
I shook my head as I could feel burns all over my body.
My tears continued on their trails
“Dear, wouldn’t you come and talk to this fish for me? Sissy’s uniform is inside the room and she doesn’t want to open the door” she screamed
“Knock harder” I heard his voice faintly from afar
“Its 8 o’clock already Mr. Man…the school bus is already around. Can’t you hear the honking? Come and break this door down for me please” she cried out again.
“I’m in the bathroom” he replied
“Oh God! What a mess! Mercy, just know that you are dead today. You are really dead today” she said in a shaky voice that was determined to do anything
“Get me more hot water” I could hear her voice once more but I drifted off into sleep, pillowing my head with my hands as more hot streams splashed into my sore tummy and legs
I felt it really bad
But I didn’t care …
…not anymore!
—————
I stretched as I wiped the drool off my mouth
Where was I?
Has it all been a dream?
A bad, scary dream?
The pain from my tummy down my lower rib jabbed me up.
I remembered so clearly what had happened
And it dawned on me that I was in a great huge mess because of what I had done.
I jumped to my feet and though I could still feel the pain, it had reduced
For how many minutes had I slept?
Chai!
Soup don cook for me!
My heart started beating fast as I walked to the door
“Mum?” I called out
I had no response
I peeped through the key hole and it was dark.
She must have left
I needed to brace up courage and bath
I staggered to the adjoining bathroom and as the water from the shower ran through my hair into other parts of me, I wished it could wash me away too
The entire me!
Minutes later, I mopped my body and wore my school uniform.
As I was about pulling my hair into a ponytail and wear my sandals, there was a soft knock at the door
They hadn’t left?
Oh my God!
“Mercy’ it was a cool voice
Whose voice was that?
I walked to the door and turned the key twice
I opened the door
Splash!
Hot water came travelling from the bowl mum held in her hands.
Just like in cartoon series, I quickly bowed and turned my side towards her in a movie-like slow motion.
The look on her face was murderous
As the hot liquid washed the outer layer of my right hand, my side and my leg away, I fell to the ground with a loud thud, banging my head on the bed
I screamed as my head seemed to be off my body.
Her revengeful laughter rang on in my ears like a killer bell before I started drifting away
I’m gonna die
I’m gonna die
I repeated silently as my spirit walked away gently and gradually from my body.
I heard the many loud bangs at the door
“Mama Mercy!” people called out urgently, banging the door
“Mercy!” I heard my friend who was our neighbor’s maid, Alice call out
I smiled ruefully
Alice came too late
Adieu Mon Amie!

Religion / Why Am I Going Through So Much Pain As A Christian, Where Did I Go Wrong? by chinenye497: 6:51pm On Nov 16, 2020
This morning I received news that my little cousin who got married last year has delivered a bouncing baby boy. When I received the news, I had mixed feelings. Here I was waiting on God for a child for over fifteen years of marriage, and my cousin, who just newly got married, now has a child.

Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t jealous, and I did not feel bad about the news. I just wasn’t happy that I have been praying for so long without a child.

So I asked God for the umpteenth time why I was going through so much pain as a Christian. Where did I go wrong? What is my offense?

So many of us ask God these same questions when we go through trials. We also want to know why God allows things like rape, murder, robbery, and so on to happen to his children. As I was pondering over this question, I remembered Abraham, Joseph, Hannah, and Job.

God never promised us a life full of enjoyment. That is why he says; Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

God knows that we would go through trials and temptation as long as we live on Earth. That is another reason why he keeps encouraging us and telling us not to be afraid.

Abraham did nothing. He was a friend of God. Yet, he waited for twenty-five years. It took God twenty-five years to fulfill the promise which he made to Abraham. Do you know what it means to wait for twenty-five years? We are not talking about twenty-five days or twenty-five months here but twenty-five years.

In Joseph’s case, he was just a good daddy’s boy and a dreamer of which the dreams were from God himself. He did absolutely nothing wrong. But God was silent when his brothers plotted to kill him. God allowed his brothers to sell him as a slave as if that was not enough he allowed his master to put him in prison over a crime he did not commit.

What about Hannah? The bible says that God deliberately shot her womb. What was her crime? Nothing. But God shut her womb and allowed Penniniah to mock her.

Then about Job, the bible made us understand that he was an upright man. What baffles me in his case is that God was the one who mentioned him to the devil and allowed the devil to torment him beyond measures. They were no type of torment that he didn’t go through, and God sat on his throne and watched silently.

Religion / How God Rescued Me From Kidnappers by chinenye497: 7:40pm On Nov 15, 2020
I was on my way to the market one day when a bus stopped in front of me. One of the men inside the bus showed me a gun and asked me to enter the bus, or he will shoot me. So I entered. They covered my nose with a white handkerchief, and I became unconscious.

When I woke up much later in the evening, I found myself in a warehouse. I looked around and observed that they were other captives there too. They were all looking very lean and hungry.
Every day they will take one person ou,t and that person never returns. They fed us once a day to keep us alive. Little wonder the other captives were all looking lean.

I noticed that every time they took one person out, the other captives would start to cry. One day, I summoned courage and told them about Christ. I told them that crying would not save any of us. The only person who can save us is God. So we need to forget our different religious beliefs and call on the only one who is capable of saving us.

They all agreed except for one man who said he didn’t believe in God. The others tried to convince him, but I told them not to bother that it did not matter whether he believed or not. So we started singing. From praise, we entered worship, and then we started praying. After the prayers, for the first time, I was able to sleep well. I also observed that the other captives were able to sleep well.

Religion / How A Pastor Who Constantly Raped His Daughter Was Crushed by chinenye497: 4:27pm On Nov 15, 2020
Crushed
Episode 1

A hand grabbed one of my breasts
It was masculine- big and strong!
It wasn’t Joshua’s hand, so it definitely was….
Oh my God!
Dad’s?
It couldn’t be…not at all!
We were having the morning devotion.
We were just five in the sitting room- Dad, mum, Bobo, Sissy and I
And it couldn’t be dad!
He was the only hope I had in the whole wide world
He couldn’t just come and burst my balloon like that…
I was already crushed!
My maternity and paternity had not been confirmed till date- I was found at the doorstep of the house at about 8 months old in a basket with a ‘Help this baby’ note but dad had fought for my stay in the house.
Mum had made my stay in the house hell and she had made it so clear that I was not a part of them.
If there was a meat stolen in the pot, it would be Mercy
Even the name Mercy crushed me most time. It reminded me that I was just in the house at their mercy.
If something happened anyhow in the house, my name would rent the whole air.
Even the twins –Bobo and Sissy that I was about five years older than, accused, blamed and insulted me at the slightest opportunity.
At 15, I still bedwet!
Because of this, I was banished from the room I shared with Sissy to the balcony!
Last night, the breeze had been too much for me that I knew that by the time I would wake up, I would find myself in the pool of my own urine!
Anytime I was being flogged by mum, dad would step in.
And anytime he did step in, the next statement that would follow is ‘If this girl doesn’t eventually cause our breakup Sam, call me a bastard!’
In school, my self-esteem had been crushed too.
Mum had come to school before for me to be disgraced on the assembly because I had wet the bed the night before.
Since then, I was called the ‘Wee-wee girl’
Everywhere I went to, I was being looked at as a thief, a wee-wee girl, a wicked soul, a witch, and any evil you could imagine
If you are close to the Bridget family and you have not heard about the ‘messy mercy’, it’s because you are dead!
Everyone knew me!
Everyone hated me!
The only one person who told me that ‘I understand you’
‘You look good;
‘You are beautiful;
‘What a nice result you have here;
‘You are a great genius’
Was the only one person I called ‘Dad’ and meant it- Mr Bridget!
But fumbling with my breast?!
Impossican’t!
I was bending over a stool as a punishment for bedwetting again and I had dozed off.
The ‘operation’ on my flesh had woken me up and with sleepy eyes, I looked at Dad beside me.
There were his eyes
He was glaring at me!
It wasn’t a dream
Daddy was really smooching me!
He winked and smiled at me as he brought his hand close to me again despite singing ‘Worthy is the lamb, seated on the throne’ as he led the devotion
The infuriation that rose from my inside due to the great disappointment that I was met with this early morning (7th July) threw me off balance
Within the twinkling of an eye, I had deposited two dirty slaps in his face to the amazement of my spirit, soul and body!
“What!” he exclaimed loudly
All eyes were on me
“Mercy, are you mad?” Mum asked, looking so shocked
By the time I realised what I had done, mum had stood up to pounce on me with Oloriburuku, aje, emere, ogbanje, elemi okunkun, witch, gbokogboko and other abusive names flying in the air.
Dad looked at me with a great shock
But was I dreaming?
He was touching me really!…it wasn’t a dream
Why couldn’t he acknowledge and tell everyone what he had done wrong?
Dad?
Even dad!
My tears flowed uncontrollably
It was not the bites, the slap, the kicks, the painful pulls that me to cry.
It was daddy!
The fact that he could try to harass me!
The fact he could make me feel this weak and hopeless
“Why Mercy? Why?” he asked on as tears ran down his face
I was running mad!
What an act!
“What did he do to you? Exactly what would make you slap him? Talk to me ogbanje…yellow pawpaw!” she screamed
I couldn’t talk
What else could I have to say?
Who would believe me?
I held my chest in pain as I closed my eyes firmly
God, please vindicate me!
After so many slaps and ‘What did he do?’ cry from her, I slumped to the ground from exhaustion, panting hard
I saw as daddy stood up from the chair and pulled me up
“You have been always right honey. There is something about this girl that I have to unravel. Leave her for me. Get the children ready for school” he said as he pulled me away.
“Orisirisi!’ mum said as she clapped her hands together, obviously shaken
“My breast…he touched my breast” I said but my voice wasn’t loud enough
“Don’t let me meet that thing by the time I come back from work o…don’t ever let me!” she shouted behind us as i was being dragged away like a sack of beans
He locked the door behind us and smiled devilishly at me.
“Before those guys that didn’t labour over you start their businesses on your body, you don’t want to give daddy that trained you from babyhood till ‘big-girlhood’ a chance baby?” he talked like cartoon in my ears and I could only pant
It was only a very bad dream!
Grabbing me by the hair, he swung me with his muscular arms before throwing me unto the bed.
I hit my head on the head of the bed and screamed loudly
It felt like the earth was spinning so quick.
Blood seemed to rush into my eyes and nose
“Dad, just kill me sir. Kill me” I screamed as he dug his hands into my body
“Omo rada rada” mum said as she walked past the room.
She must be on the way to the bathroom
Couldn’t she guess what her husband would be doing with a girl alone in the room?
Despite the names they called me and the bad reputation they had given me, couldn’t she think deep that I had never raised my hands to beat even the naughty bobo, talk less of daddy?
Couldn’t she think?
“Remove your clothes and lets pray” I heard and my already heavy head became heavier.
This couldn’t just be true!
Who do I call on?
Who do I pray to?
Jesus?
Of course not!
Not the same Jesus that the Bridget’s worshipped!
“You are crushed!” he laughed devilishly and he looked like a vampire as I beheld him.
That was the word!
The word to describe how ravished I had become
He covered my mouth with the pillow as he dug at my blouse, like a Mephistophelian lion!
The whole earth ceased moving as I counted my breath- slowly!
Religion / How My Classmate Got A Supernatural Turnaround Which Will Set Him Up For Life by chinenye497: 4:14pm On Nov 14, 2020
Vin was the dullest boy in my class back then in secondary school. He did not know anything, and I used to wonder how he even managed to pass the common entrance examination. Although he repeated several times, however, he managed to graduate.

Fast forward to yesterday. My company asked me to accompany one of my colleagues to close a deal with this particular company. They were into many things, Production of water, drinks, biscuits, etc. This company is large. Sometimes I used to wonder who the owners of the company are. For companies like that, one will think that it is not owned by one person.

We were asked to wait in the reception because the chairman was in a meeting with some people. When the meeting was over, we were allowed into the chairman’s office. When I first saw him, I was like, this person looks so much like Vin. Ah!!! People can look alike. I never in my wildest dream did I imagined that it was Vin. No, this can not be Vin, the olodo it is not possible.

Business / How To Get People To Sign Up For Your Product Before It Officially Launches by chinenye497: 2:58pm On Nov 13, 2020
How do I get people to sign up for my product before it officially launches

It depends on the type of product. If your product is the type that requires packaging, then you have to ensure that you package your products very well.

Firstly, make your products attractive because people are attracted to beautiful and well package products. Good content with bad packaging hardly gets attention, so if you want to get people to consider your products, the packaging has to look good.

Secondly, make your package very unique. People like unique things. For instance, I was once a distributor with a dairy food company. The company kicked off in 2009. You will agree with me that so many dairy food companies have been in existence long before that time. So when they started, they used an oval-shaped bottle as against the usual square-shaped bottle that every other yogurt companies were using at the time.

It was the shape and beauty of the bottle that attracted me to the product. Then when I tasted it, I realized that the product did not only have good packaging it also had good content. Those were the main reasons why I joined the company as a distributor. In less than one year, the product was everywhere. People stopped buying other yogurt products because of this one. That is how far good packaging can take your products.

Romance / Meet The Guy Who God Used To Change My Story by chinenye497: 8:16pm On Nov 08, 2020
I love the hymn There shall be showers of blessings a lot. So while we sang it in church on Sunday, it brought back some memories.

I had gone to withdraw some monies from the ATM close to my house that evening. The queue was crazy, so I decided to go home and come back in the morning. Behold, when I got there, the place was empty. I felt it was because it was still very early. Feeling very cool with myself, I slot in my card. It read, unable to dispense cash.
I almost ran mad because I just had N100 with me. And I needed N250 to take me to work. What do I do now? As I stood there thinking of what to do and praying to God at the same time to send me a helper, a car just stopped in front of me.

The man asked me where I was going, Victoria Island, I said. He asked me to hop in.
I didn’t hesitate because I knew he was God sent. We drove in silence until I got to my junction. I thanked him very much, we exchanged numbers, and he drove off. Later that evening, I sent him a text message to show appreciation for the lift. We didn’t communicate again after that day.

One evening as I was taking a stroll to my junction to buy suya, an unknown number called me, and the caller asked me how I was doing? I said I was fine, he asked me if I still remembered him, I said no, he said so you didn’t save my number in your phone while he was talking I tried to recognize the voice, but I could not place it. So I apologized and asked him to reveal his identity.

Romance / How I Received My Marital Blessing In Disguise by chinenye497: 6:37pm On Nov 08, 2020
I was returning from work with my colleague one evening when my colleague suddenly asked me to take over the wheel. I told her that I couldn’t drive. She said that she was willing to teach me how to. I agreed reluctantly because the road wasn’t a busy one. About 20 minutes after I took over the wheel, we had an accident.

We rushed the victims to the hospital, but the okada man died a few hours later, while his passenger was unconscious.
With the help of my colleague, we paid the hospital bills and compensated the deceased family. They requested that we assist in the funeral, which I did. It wasn’t easy, but God helped me during that period.

A few weeks later, the unconscious man regained consciousness and said the only thing he will accept from me is that I marry him. At first, I thought it was a joke, but then he was serious. He threatened to sue if I refused.

So my lawyer said I should agree to his proposal and then file for a divorce later. I was angry, but then I had no other choice. So I told myself that I was going to make life so difficult for him that he would beg for a divorce.

Romance / How God Saved Me From Being Lynched To Death by chinenye497: 11:25am On Nov 08, 2020
Ole!!! Ole!!! Thief!!! Thief!!! Put tyre round his neck and burn him alive. Suddenly, I saw people running towards the direction where they were shouting ole!!! I tried to ask a couple of persons, but they ignored me. So out of curiosity, I went there to see for myself.

At first, I could not recognize him. Because his face was covered with blood. But when I looked closely, I almost fainted. He was my neighbor’s son Chimezie.

This is not happening. I could not even get close to find out what happened. I have lived in the same compound with Chimezie and his family for over five years, and he has not stolen a pin before. Why now? Something is wrong somewhere.

At that point, I knew I needed to do something to save the poor boy. But what do I do? Calling his father will not solve the problem because the man had gone to his shop. And by the time he gets here, they would have killed the boy.

The spirit of God told me to start praying. Immediately I started praying and speaking in tongues silently. Just then, I saw a military van passing. I ran towards them and started flagging them to stop. I cannot say what gave me the courage, but at that point, I didn’t care anymore. Someone’s life was in danger. Not just anybody a good person.

Unlike most military men, to my surprise, they stopped. To be sincere, I wasn’t expecting them to, but they did. Immediately I fell on my knees and started crying. Their oga kpata kpata came down and asked me to stand up and tell him why I stopped them. I narrated everything to him. He asked me to enter their van and asked the driver to turn

Romance / How My Husband Abandoned Me After My Prayers Made Him Rich by chinenye497: 9:09pm On Nov 07, 2020
I met my husband at the NYSC camp, and we got married two years later. I am from a Christian background. So I understand the power of prayers from women. When we got married, we had nothing. Our marriage was based on love and not material things.

I prayed earnestly to God to bless my husband, and God answered my prayers. My husband started doing very well in his business. We bought so many houses, cars we traveled abroad whenever we wanted because we could afford it. My husband and I became very rich.

All of a sudden, my husband started having less time for me and more time for his business. We were living in a mansion with just the cook and the gateman. We didn’t have any children, not that we have infertility problems. Every time he comes back from his business trips, he would be too tired for me.

Most times, we stayed for months without sex, and it’s beginning to worry me. I need children, but how can I get pregnant when my husband hardly touches me. He refused to allow me to work. He says he makes enough money for us.
