I may be wrong but what is it about the SW (aside from the economic capital of Lagos which has long benefitted from federal and national presence) that is worth emulating? The funny thing is that the majority of those saying that SW administration is top notch are NOT indigenes of Lagos. How about taking your own advice and developing your equally backward homestates? Come to think of it....I have never seen any modicum of accountability and self-reflection from Non-Lagosian SWners. IMO I would rather take advice from the akwa-cross side since they are probably the most organized region in Nigerian. Next in line would be those from the more organized SE states.
Even when we all know that lagos is not a Yerobaland, but was developed by FG and other regions! Below is a typical Yeroba state and how it looks like. Their state capitals filled with rusted and mud houses cannot be compared to the least SE community.

berem: You have to do everything possible to convince him. Am tired of seeing threads he opens and pours his hate for Peter Obi. He needs to be kept busy and stay away totally from nairaland.Maybe we need more than a mere persuasion! |
berem: The hermaphrodite really needs a job! Please Chino, help him with one as soon as possible, even if it is your errand boy.employ him with immediate effect.Jokes aside, By His Grace, I have some contacts here in Awka to smuggle in his name among the people that will be shortlisted soon in the ongoing recruitment exercise in Anambra. I notified him immediately the exercise started but his chose to bluff me. |
Freeglobe! Why have you gone out of control? Joblessness is a disaster time bomb waiting to happen. I have told you times without number that all that you need is a job. Check your email, I have sent you a mail in your yahoo box. |

Saecula: ukachukwu ka anyi ga- eso.He is a trader! Anambra is the home of best and brightest brains in Nigeria, academically and otherwise.. So we do not want a common trader.. |
[s] Saecula: Willie Obiano behaves like a dolt. He looks deaf and dumb. Obi's chicanery will fail woefully. He is just trying to appeal top pity by foisting Obiano on Anambrarians in the guise of having not ruled Anambra since over two decades.[/s] TRASH! Next patience please....! ![]() |

Youngzedd: Fatal lie.You are a clown for saying that. probably you are talking of Onitsha of 10-15years ago. Onitsha is a lot neater with good network of roads, thriving economic activities and secured at least to the standard of most economic cities of Nigeria. Lagos, PH, Onitsha and Kano has one thing in common- and that is huge capital resources flows in them and that can attract some level economic crime, of which Onitsha is still better off when compared among those major cities of its ranking. |
^^^I've said it!.....see how these bastards use top of the line contractors and bespoke materials when it comes to building something that affects them directly, but when it's something for the masses they go and cut corners and do the barest minimum they can get away with! The state secretariat for instance.......there's nothing even remotely appealing about that monstrosity of a building: it doesn't look cutting edge like something built in the 21st century; i bet it's got no lifts; and the finishing looks like something real local builders built in a hurry! Any good buildings are normally private or company owned!
What is actually eating you up nwokem! You sound so bitter and unsecured. Does the secretariat in your state worthy to be compared with this one in Awka? Why not take your frustration elsewhere. |
As I dey type now..am sharing a bottle of HERO bear with my wify.... ![]() |
Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State said the state is worth over N20 billion in investments in spite of the fact that on assumption of office he met an empty treasury. Speaking at a forum organised by League of Anambra Professionals (LAP) tagged “Lets Rekindle the Anambra Spirit” in Awka recently, Obi disclosed that the laudable feat was achieved without borrowing from any institution or government just as he revealed that six South African companies have already acquired land at Anambra industrial area and would soon commence business. Contrary to the belief that he has been on seat as governor for about eight years, Obi disclosed that though his mandate was restored in 2006, his government’s budget was first passed only in 2008, saying within this short period of about five years, he has been able to deliver real value to Anambra people. “I did not meet any single functional factory when I assumed office as Anambra State governor. There was no Government House or Government Lodge. Anambra has no secretariat. This place we are ( referring to Women Development Centre) was burnt down, I rebuilt it. But today as at last week Friday (that is September 6) Anambra is worth over N20 billion in investment,“ he said He said SABMiller Brewery in Onitsha is the fastest growing factory in the history of SABMiller group of South Africa is about to double its production capacity. While explaining the challenges that Innoson went through before his vehicle manufacturing company took off, he called on Nigerians to embrace local made products noting that fake products is global trend. Speaking further, Obi called on Anambra people in other states of the federation to join hands in developing the state by locating some of their investments in Anambra. “Basic things have changed since I became governor. We call on all Anambra people wherever they are to join hands in making Anambra great. The state is good now but we want to take it from good to great. We have to seek ways to bring solution to the numerous challenges confronting our state. You can only add value if you come home. If you bring about 10 percent of your investment into Anambra state it would make a lot of difference,” he said. He assured that government has provided enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the state, adding “We are building institutions. People should join hands to make the institutions work. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/anambra-state-worth-n20bn-says-obi/159591/ Pictures of more roads within Onitsha Harbour Industrial Estate- Onitsha

Ngige and the Islamic APC are falling like pack of cards. ![]() |
The soapbox lull in the November 16, governorship election in Anambra state was enlivened recently with the defection of Chief Godwin Ezeemo from the All Progressives Congress (APC) .to the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), with hordes of his supporters. Ezeemo, had engaged the APC in a gutsy battle of due process and rectitude when they attempted to impose former governor of the state, Senator Chris Ngige on the party as its candidate. The attempt collapsed on its face when Ezemoo insisted on a proper congress. The repeat congress, however still failed the stiff test of fairness, and equity, which compelled him to search for another platform. The search ended at the PPA, which since its inception in 2006, and unprecedented success in the 2007 general elections has maintained a steady rise. In Anambra state, as in many others, the party has been greatly energized and re-invigorated. The former state chairman of the party Chief MNC Ameke gave vent to the growth when he said “PPA has grown in leaps and bounds. Don’t forget, we controlled two states before. We have a number of legislators in the National assembly and in some state Assemblies.” The new feeling is given a major boost when it is realized that among the major parties in serious contention for the governorship seat, it is the only one, outside the Labour Party (LP) that is not enmeshed in crises. Ezeemo, admitted this much when he expressed satisfaction with the calm and focus of the party “Barely two months to the elections, the other parties are still in courts struggling for tickets. We have no distractions here and our campaigns are going on gradually, without disruptions”. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/politics/anambra-guber-ppa-ezeemo-retool-game/

abagoro: 6000 civil servants with 4 months to go, LGA elections with 4 months to go. I seriously smell Ohakim tactics here.Ohakim was a known fraudster even before he stepped his feet into Imo state. So what he could is not far fetched from his original nature. Obi is a decent man with lots of integrity. |
