Market fires! This has a way of sending struggling traders back to village. One of my maternal cousins suffered this fate in the Onitsha main market fire disaster. He couldn't recover from that unfortunate incident. The thing practically changed the path of his destiny from a promising young man to a struggling middle age man at the moment.

it depends on location. You wont get best quality pop with quality materials for less than 6000/sqm. that's the lowest for now unless dey just do "dabaru" job for you and mere home theater sound will make your pop start falling.

. You are right. We were in one guy's house then with my friend and there was a huge blast from a gas retailer shop close by, the POP ceiling came down. I am telling you. That day was one of the most horrible days of my life. My new hair was messed up and my clothes. But we thank God as there were no serious injuries. As much as I am concerned with costs, I wouldn't want to compromise quality.

My worry now is that the price he is quoting is almost double the former price. From between 4000 per sq m to about 7800. I thought it was even 7500 that he stated without knowing it was 7800. The price difference is much.

Please, what's the current price of doing POP with material? We are currently mad at our Engineer. We entered into contracts with him in September 2019 for our four bedrooms duplex. We accepted his quotes. His costs are inclusive of materials at every stage.

Now to do POP, he told us that the 4000/sqm charged for POP would not stand again and brought a ridiculous 7,500/Sam for POP.
We want to know the average rate the market is charging currently for POP. Mind you, when the money for POP was given to him then, he went ahead to purchase doors and installed water overhead tank carrier, saying those ones should come first.

Now, he saying he can't do POP again as the 4000 per Sqm earlier agreed cannot stand again.

Nigeria for me anytime. Though we have our challenges in Nigeria , I still enjoy it here. Abroad is just too boring for me. Happiness is not a destination thing, rather it is a personal choice. You can always find happiness and fulfillment irrespective of your location.

though I'm not supportive of some points here. but that loneliness is a big point that can make many to regret their choice. Using America as an example, Hollywood is making Nigerians think that it's all enjoyment in the us. when trills of electricity and internet leave your mouth and you realize its all work and work, you'll be disappointed. Not much time for social life as in Nigeria, only the American rich experience some form of good life, but for working class, no. but movies will not let you know. it is same in other developed countries. the worst is when you don't blend in culturally. you'd hate yourself as you won't have an interesting conversation with anyone. I'm not against anyone traveling, but make good research and know what you want. don't pay attention to people who come here to brag, they're the ones that struggle the most financially.

Loneliness and boredom there could be killing. I don't know how Nigerian singles are managing over there, especially those that were formerly living in Nigeria with all the activities and suddenly found themselves in one or two rooms basement apartments. When I had my first child, I went alone but the boredom and loneliness complicated my frustration.

On my second coming, I insisted my mum joined me and I felt better. My people, abroad is good but I can't live there permanently. Though I am still hustling with my second hand clothing and shoes, praying God's continue blessing on hubby, na Nigeria sure pass for me but I won't hesitate not to help any relative willing to Japa if that's where his destiny lies. I pray that my relative, who is a practicing nurse here succeed with her UK pursuit. At least, I would have someone over there and be visiting. We are investing on her with a hope of success.

It is not just a feeling, it is actually the truth. There are so many of them on Nairaland, Youtube and Twitter, their hobby is to discourage Nigerians from relocating to a better country (i.e. UK, USA, Germany or Canada).

But why should that be? Why do we see the next person as a competitor as Nigerians. We are looking at a way of supporting a relative, who is a registered nurse in Nigeria. We wants her to go to UK and practice because of demand of nurses over there. Starting with writing of this exam they call Neclax, I hope I got the name right. We got in contact with a relative there, she bad mouthed the whole thing and discouraged the poor lady from making the journey.

We just bypassed her, registered the exam for our relative and contacted someone to provide her accommodation at a fee for the duration of the Neglax exam. The benefactor here is a Namibian. He even guided our relative well on how to secure job if successful with the neglax exam and registration.

She is done with everything and back to Nigeria. We're just hoping for the best for her. Though she has not secured job to take advantage of the new health care visa category. But the attitude of the Nigerian relative was nothing to write home about.

Nigerian youths and ignorance! Oga, Lagos has just 21 local government despite the population. Forget the local government created byTinubu to settle his boys, thus increasing the cost of governance with over bloated workforce. Borno, Yobe and katsina, all have more local government than Lagos with far higher populations.
