Thanks dear..will do my best

casler:

Feeding is a relationship, you build with your child, dont force it,dont let the child see it as punishment.Experiment till you get what works.
Are you breast feeding,if yes.
Top your proteins:
More meat,fish,beans
Make pap with yellow corn,guniea corn,millet for your self,quaker oats,avocado pear,blue band.
Have frequent naps with baby, make out time to carry baby on carrier or back for an hour or more, take morning walks or evening errands together.
Do elaborate bathing,if he enjoys bathing.
Do naked breastfeeding sessions, with only a wrapper and diaper covering you too.
Dont let anyone or you complain of baby's weight,in front of baby.
They understand,praise,speak positively.
Good luck,

Same reaction I got when I tried feeding on the clock
They are really slow gainers, but as long as they are not underweight we shouldn't bother ourselves cus that's my only concern
I've not tried any multivitamin yet
Don't listen to people, do your best and leave the rest

The challenge with feeding on the clock is i will have to force-feed her to achieve that as she won't take more when she reaches her usual gauge, then she throws up everything when you force her which defeats the whole idea in the first place.....she weighed 3.2 @ birth, 3.6 @ 6weeks and 4.3 @ 10 weeks, she's a slow gainer, i've tried abidec and reload still....i have worried, even cried and then I decided to let her be cos I don't know what else to do...she's not just a foodie...I feel bad when I see babies her age that are chubby, what can I do na...just hope she eventually gets big, for now she's a small baby and people don't fail to mention it to me how small she is cry

@ awesomemama your own still better

zaynie:
Mbula and Awesomemama.

Try feeding on the clock. The time interval is usually every 2 hours if you're breastfeeding and make sure the child finishes both full breast. Even if the child is asleep, try to make him feed.
If you're using formula and he doesn't take the bottle recommended for his age on the tin, then reduce the quantity and increase the number of feeds to avoid wastage. So even in the middle of the night please feed him or wake up to breastfeed him. Also give him water.
You might also want to give him Abidec. It helps them to eat and I'm only mentioning this because the Dr confirmed him to be underweight. Buy the imported one not the Nigerian one and watch him chow like never before.

Good luck kiss
And let's know how it goes.

If she’s still taking breast milk then its your diet you need to improve on. Start taking morefruits and milk and a multivitamin could help. Try sweet fruits for example orange juice andwatermelon. I hope she bounces back.

My dear, Abidec, B-complex didn't even make my baby want to eat. I doubt if it is for appetite. Until I bought RELOAD (I will attach a picture when I get home. I give 2.5ml once daily. It is quite expensive but it works. Ask a Paediatrician before use.

awww....i'm sorry I got you pained o, I was just worried...but I feel better now...the issue is my baby doesn't like to eat, and she can't add weight if she doesn't eat, i've given her abidec, it worked @ first but it seems her body has gotten used to it...we're back to not wanting to feed...I just wish there was something I can do about her appetite...and yes we've been to the hospital, there's no infection or anything

reniduke:
my baby was 2.1kg at birth and yes she wasnt preemie, she's full term. I have a health condition that affected her weight. Like yours She was on breast milk and baby food from the word go and has been eating well.
Long story short she's a pretty orobo now at 9 months and me im trying to reduce breast milk so i can stop at 1 year. In short ehn, i was pained wen i saw someone say 3.2kg saddens her. I believe she was about 4.1kg at 2 months also before everything started to balance out. So dont worry, keep giving the breast and formula she'll be fine.

Liftedhands:
She's is fine don't stress over it, in a couple of months you will be amazed at her growth! Just keep feeding her well.
Health / Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by Chirolechick: 9:55am On Mar 07, 2018
Thank you, she weighed 3.2 @ birth, it just saddens me that she is on the small side

Liftedhands:
What is her birth weight to begin with? A newborn is expected to drop a bit of birth weight in the first month of life and then add 1kg monthly till about six months to a year old.

4kg at just two months old in my opinion is a good weight irrespective of her birth weight.

Be resy assured that as long as she eats well the weight will come on, also genetics should be considered too as your baby won't be any different from which ever parent or side of the family she genetically stands with.

Ok how can I get it, i'm lag. I'm not on whatsapp though

Yes the photography blankie is still available.
No, it doesn't come with the wooden frame or the alphabet but you cab get your own props. You can use his fav toy to replace the alphabet and you can use a colourful small sized hula hoop instead of the frame. Or you can you easily use any picture frame you have at home and replace when you're done.

Make memories with this photography blanket. You can use it for several babies and through generations.

Congrats dear, glad I could help

OnJosh1:

Hello Chirolechick,

Thank you so much for your help. Visa was approved and has been collected.

I applied for the emergency request/ expedited interview date as advised, selected medical emergency option. Explained my reasons for the emergency request. Attached copy of my hubby's visa, dr's letter and correspondence and some other work related doc to prove why I needed to have the interview that week, as I was going out of town also as the available interview date was way past when I could travel per most airlines policies and my already scheduled Dr's appointment.

I got a response in less than 24 hrs that my request had been approved.

Chose my preferred interview date. Didn't need to pay another visa fee.

Interview day:
VO: Where in the US are you going to?
Me: Houston Texas
VO: Why?
Me: To have my baby ( I applied for medical Visa)
VO: Is this your first baby?
Me: Yes
VO: What's your budget?
Me: USD xxxx
VO: Where do you work
Me: Just started at XYZ Company, formerly at ABC Company ( Had to state this Cus I changed the name of employer on my new form as my employer when I was initially scheduled for my interview had changed)
VO: what did you do at ABC Company?
Me: I blah blah blah
VO: Is your new role in XYZ Company similar to ABC?
Me: Explained the correlation (Although I doubt that's very important)
VO: Is your hubby going with you and Does your Hubby have a Visa?
Me: Yes to both questions
VO: Family and Friends
Me: No
VO: So staying at a hotel
Me: Yes
VO: When do you intend travelling?
Me: Blah blah
VO: How long do you intend staying
Me: X months Cus I only have X no of months approved as time off work.
VO: Okay, Your Visa has been approved.
Me: Thank you.

Hubby helped pick up cus I had to head back out.

In all I say THANK GOD, it went very well. No document was requested although I had them all in a folder with me. Thank you urblackpearl for the info on updating my profile. Thank you Chirolechic.
Thank you everyone who responded to my questions and chipped in.

Now it's ticket things... Still searching the thread for info... but thought to put it out here... Cus wakanow of 2015 or Airfrance or BA of 2015 and now might not be same experience... So please do I go with Wakanow or buy ticket by myself? Airfrance or BA? What are they like with pregnant women and women with infants? Flight with one stop for 4hrs or two stops first for 8hrs then 3hrs? Two stops is obviously cheaper but without accommodation? Traveling by myself, worried it will be stressful. Airfrance two stops has Delta Airline in between, any issues envisaged with using another airline to connect.

Interview was in Lagos.

Better you do it now, the earlier the better, I don't know about weekend responses, but you will get a response on monday and they'll let you know the earliest appointment date

OnJosh1:

Okay dear, just to be extra sure with my planning this time... If I want to do the interview on say Thursday, is Monday too early or too late to submit the emergency request? Hubby and I checked for a trend this week and noticed that when you click the emergency request option it shows you the next day as interview date.
Or should I just send the request today (do they respond over the weekend)?

Thank you so much for your response.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Chirolechick: 9:58am On Oct 21, 2017
My dear just do like I said up there, you can try abuja option if they decline your emergency request, but i'm sure it will work, i've tried it before

OnJosh1:

Thanks a lot Datam, thing is I thought you can only reschedule twice on the same Visa fee. I have rescheduled once now and I'm worried that if I cancel and Abuja is now too far off for me as well, I can't reschedule again. Pls correct me if I'm wrong can I reschedule more than twice on the same visa fee? And there's more to my wanting to do the interview in Lagos. At the moment I'm out of town (Had to leave for work outside Lagos where I mentioned I'll be for the next two months) and I've already made plans to be in Lagos next week... took a lot of extra to get that done. Now to switch to Abuja.

Chaiii... I'm so confused and tired and all because I didn't pay attention the first time!
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Chirolechick: 6:39am On Oct 21, 2017
No you don't pay another visa fee, just log on to your dashboard and click on emergency appointment, choose medical and explain why you missed the first appointment, explain the available dates and tell them that will make you miss your doctors appointment, upload the following documents: info from hospital, doctor's info and doctor's confirmation of appointment.

They'll respond the following day and tell you to choose a date. Goodluck

OnJosh1:
Hello House,

So last week I created a new DS-160 Form to upload my passport photo properly as I learnt that I won't be allowed in to the interview if it's not it uploaded. Thanks to @urblackpearl I was successful with that. I also notified the support@UStravels docs team and even though I didn't see the update from their end, I logged into my profile and update it with the new DS-160 Form number and then printed my new Interview Confirmation page.

At the Visa Centre however, I wasn't allowed to go in for my interview because the update was just done the day before and hadn't reflected on their system. No explanations were listened to.

Then Hubby said he wasn't going to go for his interview cus we applied together... I insisted that he did his while I waited for him in the car and THANK GOD He was given a visa.

I don't have the detailed transcript cus I wasn't there but in summary, it was really smooth. He was asked where he works, where I work, where he's travelled to before, where I have travelled to before, reason for our visa application, my EDD, Name of hospital we want to use in the US, what our budget is. No support document was requested or looked at.

Now my challenge, we went back to reschedule and the earliest date at first was 22nd Dec then it became 27th Dec and so hubby and I panicked and chose it before it will change to Jan 2018. I'm due end of Jan 2018 by GOD'S Grace and I'm expected to be at the hospital in the US in December. In fact per most airline policies I've seen I need to travel by mid December.

I want to submit an emergency request and ask for an expedited date. Information here (I've searched with the word expedited) and even on the website is a bit confusing... on the US Visa website, I don't see anywhere it says to pay again for expedited but info I've gotten so far I've been told I will need to pay again.

Pls house can anybody experienced with expedited interview date / emergency request help me with the actual interpretation of what I need to do. Wdo I pay another visa fee? If yes, is it before I get approval for my emergency request or after?

Please I want to get this done next week by GOD'S Grace. I'm out of Lagos for the next two months till it's time to travel. Please I appreciate your response.
