Do not expect ur originals unless u send them a message to terminate ur application that u have changed ur mind or no longer interested.... Now, that is risky but if u are very sure about ur scholarship offer then I urge u to send them a mail to return ur originals that u are no more interested. Visa processing takes 6-8wks only when u have successfully funded and sent them confirmation of funding... Congratulations on ur PTDF scholarship! Nawa 4 this embassy people, Kai, so they can't start my visa processing b4 they receive my proof of block account funding and later I show them, this is weird mehn haba |

liftedkris: the embassy will return ur originals with ur VISA. Don't expect ur originals after ur interview unless ur application is unsuccessful in which case ur whole documents will be returned to u including a rejection letter. This always happens within one week after interview.... I have replied ur pm tho The thing is that I did my visa interview on May 17th, on June 10, I won PTDF overseas scholarship, so I need my original waec and Univ cert for documentation to claim my award, it's written on German embassy website that it takes 8weeks to process the visa stuff so my 8 weeks elapsed last week, don't they process the visa stuff without blocked acct funded? Or can't I receive my original documents without showing blocked acct funded and then provide evidence of funding to get my visa approved? |

You didn't support the appointment of the man nor his actions to stabilise things in the country .Now they removed him you are crying foul . What is wrong with this Niger delta group self ? They deceived President Jonathan & derailed his govt completely in the name of it is our time. Until the man was angrily voted out, they never allowed him to see the reality of things in the country. Now that free oil cash is no longer flowing they come up with stupid avengers struggle. God will punish you all for your hypocrisy & insincerity. I want to believed that Goodluck Jonathan would have won his second term presidential bid if not for the greed & parochiality of this bunch of evil advisers . No wahala, Na Buhari govt go hear am papabaks: Kachikwu is still the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources while Baru is now the GMD of NNPC.
To reduce the work load of Kachikwu, he was relief of the possition so that the NNPC GMD can be reporting to the Minister of state.

Ivory coast is the largest cocoa exporter in the world, producing 1.8million tonnes which translates to $6bn annually, ivory coast is 25m in population, now tell me can 180m Nigeria depend on $6bn annually, People dont know the macroeconomic implications of Petrodollars that's they talk. If Buhari isn't careful, this militants might destroy him and his party, it's not something U joke about, it's delicate, Buhari can't go in full force with army because United Nations might sanction banning Nigeria from international business and community which is worse. |

The fact remains is that if Niger Delta leave Nigeria today, Nigeria is finished, Don't U get it 95% of dollar income into our economy is Oil&Gas. What else remains? Nigeria earned $98bn from Oil in 2013, cocoa which is the next was $700m, so tell me are U making any sense, can 180m people depend on $700m, I am giving figures here, don't talk what U dont know |

The fact that they mismanage their own money is none of your business, it's their money, the problem with Nigerians is that they follow the Naira income, My brother follow the Dollar income, Lagos economy is being powered by Niger Delta Oil production, 95% of Nigeria's foreign income is from Oil&gas, the gas powers 80% of Nigerian electricity generation Companies like Shell can invest $7bn on 1 project, tell me which area in Nigerian Economy that a foreign private firm has invested that any, Look @ the ports, is it naira U use to import? Look @ the banks? How will they raise foreign capital when U dont have a foreign exchange earner in your country, Do U think Foreign investors will loan U? If Niger Delta was a country on its own, they would be living like the Kuwaitis, the Emiratis, Saudis, people from other parts will rushing to find work there because it has 37bn barrels of oil and 180trn feet of gas. They don't need anybody to help, they can deal the oil companies direct, |

My transcript
Vo: Good morning Me: Good morning ma Vo: What do you do presently? Me: I just completed my compulsory one-year national service in April this year. Vo: Which other schools did you apply to? Me: Texas A & M; kaust and IPS ( in uniport here in Nigeria) Vo: How did you hear about the U.S schools? Me: My UG course advicer, Prof **** told me about them. Specifically, he graduated from ***uni with concentration in fluid mechanics and dynamics which happens to be my area of interest. Vo: What did you study in your UG? Me: Petroleum engr. Vo: Why MEE for your Msc? Me: During my UG i was fascinated by the mechanics of fluid flow and heat transfer, hence, i decided to concentrated on them during masters. Petroleum or MEE offers me the chance to achieve that goal. ***uni don't offer petroleum so i applied for MEE. Vo: Have you read any course on MEE before? Me: Yes! Fluid mechanics and heat transfer were courses i did during UG. Vo: What will you do after graduation? Me: I already have a job offer in my alma matter for graduating with first class, hence, i'll come back and take up the offer. My course advicer is presently the only one in that field so i'll second him. Vo: Have you paid SEVIS? Me: Yes. The receipt is there with you under the I-20 Vo: When? Me: Last month. Vo: Who is paying? Me: My uncle. He owns a steel company that is into fabrication and repair of overhead and underground steel tanks. Am his favorite nephew and he's been sponsoring me since sec school. Vo: Can i see his bank statement? Me: Hands it over with his sponsorship letter. Vo: Goes out with my SEVIS receipt, bank statement, and sponsorship letter. Vo: Returns. Me: Additional to my uncle's sponsorship, I also got a graduate research assistantship from the school. I have an official letter for that. Vo: Ok! You should have just told me you paid ur Sevis some days ago instead of last month (*me for my mind....na july we dey soo) Vo: Why didn't you go for the masters immediately after graduation? Me: I needed time to study for GRE and TOEFL so i decide to serve within that same time and it paid off. (GRE=310; TOEFL=105). The scores are among the reasons i got the assistantship. Vo: Your SEVIS payment hasn't reflected on our system but am going to approve your visa. So i'll keep your passport and we'll contact you about pick-up once the SEVIS is confirmed. Hands me over my docs and a small paper that lists things i'll have/do before travelling. Me: Happily perplexed...Thanked her and walked.
It was just Chukwu Nna that made it happen. To those still going for their interview never let denial of someone ahead of you on the queue discourage you. You always can be the first to be approved by the vo. Just prepare well and be confident....then leave the rest to God. Which school are U going? |

Nigerians don't understand the economic vitality of oil in the south south, Nigeria today is Oil and Oil alone, everything in Nigeria is Oil and Remittances from Nigerians in Diaspora finish, Nigerian Budget is Oil based and non-oil based, The dollar money used to fund imports that produces Custom Levy is derived from petrodollars. NIGERIA has a far higher percentage of revenue from onshore oil production than offshore. Buhari knows that if care isn't taken Avengers will entirely destroy his government and bankrupt companies that have borrowed to invest in Niger Delta and Power Companies, even if Avengers is caught others will arise and continue from where they stopped, is it not just dynamite? |

Adminisher: The NE development commission is to be funded by UN grants, EUROPEAN UNION grants, US government grants, donations by Nigerian billionaires and Nigerian tax payers money.
Since they have brought it up, I will talk. Please mark this day and the HDI for that region. Educational enrolment, Health, child health care and crime level. Watch for three years and compare with SS .
I bet you that region will top all the charts and the truth will come out . Nigeria' problem is mentality and not structure. The oil is just a confusing source of confusion. The NE will not loot the funds coming to their region, they will not make billionaires out of militants and they will not have cult groups killing everyone and chasing investments away.
God is going to teach this country some lessons this year. You can continue to sit in a beer palour in PHC deceiving yourself that you are better than Northerners and they are dragging Nigeria down or you get out of your ass to improve your environment. Whatever happens we will see the results Shut up my Friend, It will be funded by Petrodollars |

Looking @ the manuscript, names like Dumebi Kachikwu, Atiku Abubakar were real names, they were not sham names, Y is it when her name was mentioned, that they claim it was a Sham, They should investigate it very well, we all know that past leaders family get involved in some deals, it all goes round, it's a Causcus, u can't be telling me Gowon's wife or son won't be getting some contracts or deals when we know Buhari Obasanjo Yaradua were all his juniors in the army, take for example when Abacha wanted to install himself as a democratic president, He offered TY Danjuma an oil block for his support, this haiburton deal isn't a big deal, it was jst blown out of proportion because it involved a USA citizen and he was caught, deals like dis happens everyday with DPR, PPMC, NLNG, serious deals in Abuja U have no idea about |

Pasadena009: I have been wanting to share my experience; never shared it publicly, perhaps this will be a great avenue to do so. Got my visa in 2007 at the US Lagos Consulate office. All ten people that went before me were denied. Back then when they had speaker microphone...every hears what the conversation was. Lol. One guy threw tantrums after his 3rd denial in anger. They called the security on him; I bet that would be his last US visa adventurism. Lol! I'll do my best to paraphrase the exact VO response.
I arrived at approximately 8am, my interview was at 9am. I was barely 18 yrs old...a month shy
Interview VO: Good morning young man Me: Good morning ma'am VO: What's your full name? ME: Answered...stammer on my first name like I usually do; took 8 seconds to get it out. I realized she was patiently looking at me as I blocked & stammered with the pain of a mother. VO: Appears that you have a stammer Me: Yes I do VO: My son has it too. Take your time and I'll be patient with you Me: Very appreciative ma'am. VO: What's your date of birth. Me: Told her xxxxxx VO: What university are you going to? Me: California Institute of Technology VO: She paused, look at me and said...that's the best engineering school in the country and probably also in the world. Me: I very much aware that VO: You must be an ingenious since only the likes of Albert Einstein go there Me: Smiled. I guess I must be as smart as Einstein. VO: Grinned. What course are going to be studying? Me: Mechanical engineering as major and minor in Aerospace engineering. VO: Who is your sponsor? Me: I have my Dad's bank statement however I'm under full scholarship for both undergraduate and graduate programs by CALTECH. VO: Can I see your bank statement and proof of scholarship Me: Sure VO: Very unusual to have a student born with a silver spoon riding on a full academic college scholarship to a prestigious school. Me: Smiled. VO: Can I see your tests and scores Me: Gave her my Waec, SAT and Toefl VO: Looked at me again, VO: Talked to her next officer, they both looked at me again. Me: Now I'm wondering...hope all is well VO: I see you have all distinctions, overall best in your class and also have the highest SAT score we have seen here. Me: Thank you ma'am VO: Why did you choose CALTECH? Me: Actually I had applied and accepted on full scholarship to MIT, Georgia Tech and CALTECH. VO: I see but you didn't answer my question Me: Oh, I chose CALTECH simply because I wanted to be close to water/beach, cool weather as I don't like snow and high humidity with respect to Massachusetts and Georgia respectively. VO: Smiled VO: Congratulations, come back at noon to pick up your visa. Wish you all the best! Me: Thank you ma'am
That was how I left the country! My advice is...be yourself. One thing I observed with every of my secondary school classmates that left for US was they were all going for engineering. The ones that were going for art, humanities or pure science majors, most were denied. Age is also a factor too...under 25 seem reasonable for undergraduate. Above 25, I would advise you go the graduate route.
Another big secret, apply to schools in small towns. This people have in-house algorithm that distributes international students evenly around the schools in US...otherwise you will have 20 people going to Los Angeles or Houston but none to Albuquerque or Provo. I swear if you apply to Albuquerque in the state of New Mexico...I swear, you must get visa. This is a powerful secret I'm giving out here. The reason is that this people want international students in those small towns since most people generally would prefer big cities with prospects. A former consulate officer told me this. How did U get Caltech? Did U score 200% In SAT |

Alphaoscar: The real problem with this school is that Gbaramotu is too hostile to host a federal university.
That school will be the first point of attack by the militants and even the products of that school will mostly end up as cultist and militants.
I know most people will not agree with this but a more peaceful environment within the Niger Delta like Akwa-Ibom , Rivers or so will be more suitable for that university.
