Same here. Sept 8th Priority...decision mail 11th...nothing till now.
I called UKVI again yesterday. They said to give them till Tuesday next week that I'll get my passport latest by then. If nothing still, I should let them know and they'll escalate it.
whuzmhan: if you are not far from the centre, why not go there and check? someone said a lot of passports are just there in TLS waiting to be picked up. I think the person mentioned Abuja TLS.....................(seems that's their way of life......lol) a decision mail from the 11th is too far, you should have gotten your passport back go there and check All the best.
Thanks whuzmhan, I've been there (TLS) twice to check. They said it still hasn't gotten to them. They even seem clueless as to what might have happened.
Any ideas what next step I should take? Looks like I'm beginning to lose my patience. Here's my timeline:
Sept. 5: Applied for PRIORITY visa Sept. 8: Did biometrics at Abuja TLS Sept. 11: Got decision mail Up till now (15 days after biometrics), nothing else. Tracker is still on Level 3: Application at DMC
I have written to UKVI and called them with their humongous paid service, and all I get is the generic response that they can confirm that a decision has been made and that I should wait till TLS contacts me to come for my passport. How much longer, they can't comment on that, they say.
Has anyone had this kind of experience? How do I handle this? The wait is frustrating...
QueensRoad1: Has anyone tried emailing Ukvi, what did they say? Lemme know if I should not bother wasting 6£ on top emailing them
You can, but you'll likely get a generic response...something like the below:
Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.
With regards to your query, I can confirm that we have made a decision on your application GWFxxxxxxx. We cannot discuss the outcome of your application on-line or by telephone. However the visa application centre will be in contact with you in regards to collection or delivery of your passport.
We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.
I did my biometrics at TLS Abuja on Tuesday, 8th Sept, and got decision mail on Friday, 11th Sept.
Up till now, nothing. Application still at DMC stage on tracker.
I got tired of waiting and went to TLS this afternoon...folks there said they haven't gotten my passport and they don't understand the delay. Today's the 7th working day after biometrics
Pogbaj: i also got this mail about an hour ago. I did biometrics on Tuesday no interview. And I didn’t pay for the ‘priority’ option
Maybe things are getting a lot faster, and that will be real good.
Please be advised that a decision was made on your visa application today. Your documents and visa decision will now be returned by commercial courier to the visa application centre where you applied (unless you paid for the courier fee in which case it will be returned directly to you). This can take a few days and be subject to unforeseen delays so please wait for the visa application centre to advise you when your documents and decision are ready for collection.
Can anyone help with information about how to do a "Walk-In" into the Abuja TLS center?
I need an urgent decision on my Tier 4 visa application due to my work. I would have selected the priority service but did not have that choice while I was filling my visa application form. I also tried the Prime Time Appointment option on TLS portal, but couldn't figure out how to make it work. My appointment date is Sept. 18 at the moment, but it will be difficult to wait till then as I need to make some work trips.
I will appreciate any help in this regard. Thanks in advance.
For whoever finds this useful:
Submitted visa application on Sept. 5, and I did a walk-in at the Abuja TLS center today. However, it came at a cost of the Flexi appointment.
There was no interview or any indication of such.
Paid for priority and hoping for a response in one week.
badtempest: No one can advice anyone on walk ins currently as they don’t have a stable process. They allow some people do it sometimes other times they do not. It’s based on luck. Just go there with your appointment letter and see if they’d let you in the day you go. You might be lucky or not. When you enter you’d pay the walk in fee. Finish

I have seen this meme on Nairaland like a thousand times. Any time it comes to that "think about it" moment, it's this meme I remember. I had been wondering if this guy was Eddie Murphy or some relation...
blazetitov: Please i have been searching. Seems most of the sites just want to keep harvesting my email address. The one on PDF drive has been deleted. i Have tried Pininterest and some other funny sites which were asking me to install extension on my chrome.
please help if you have it. I always give a try before i ask for such.
Not sure if you found what you were looking for, but I just checked PDFDrive, and the seventh edition is there and downloadable. You may want to check again.
I ended up changing the gearbox entirely back then. This was after I had replaced the solenoids and changed the transmission fluid, and there was no difference.
LazyFolk: Hey guys, In August; I’m planning to take a trip From Lagos to Abidjan, en route to Sénégal and then Cape Verde for a west African tour. In Abidjan, I plan on spending 3-4 days in Abidjan, before moving to Sénégal with the same idea then Cape Verde. My total budget so far for the trip is at 200K Naira. And the idea is to enter as much West African countries as I can (getting stamps) before I’m back. Now my questions are: 1. I want to carry 100k cefa on my person from the 200k through the trip for miscellaneous (is that advisable) or should I leave all of it in the bank? 2. I plan on using Airbnb for my stay, is that okay or should I just go for a hotel? 3. Is there anyone planning on taking that route, we can go together? 4. Can I use an mtn sim from Nigeria throughout the trip(Abidjan and Dakar) or what do y’all think? 5. Lastly, is there anything I should know or any advice y’all can give me? I’ll be more than grateful. I await your favorable response.
Hi,
Let me attempt to respond to your questions.
What you're planning to do is something I've always wanted to do for a while, but haven't gotten the balls to finally do it. Anyways, to the responses:
1. You'll be better off with your cash, although not too much. Nowhere is 100% safe, and you don't want to get stranded after being mugged. On the other hand, keeping your money in the bank has its hassles too, especially with regards to being able to withdraw across West Africa. I know Ecobank has several branches in the region, and it may be easier getting your money in many of these countries with their card.
2. I'd go for Airbnb every day and 17 times on Fridays. For me, I find it a lot more flexible than hotels. Also, it's a way to connect with locals wherever you go, and you may be able to get useful tips from the folks you stay with.
3. I don't know of anyone planning this. I'd love to, but haven't got the time right now.
4. If you're willing to bear roaming charges on your Nigerian MTN sim, then that's okay. You'll be able to use it. A cheaper option will be to buy local sim cards especially in places where you'll be staying for a while. To get a sim card, they'll request for a means of ID, usually your international passport. Once you are able to present that, you'll get your sim card. The only thing is that by the time you're done with your trip, your bag will probably be full of sim cards...lol
5. Advice? I'd say you should go for this. The experience you'll get will be one you'll never forget. It can be life changing. I once did a road trip from Rwanda through Uganda to Kenya and Tanzania, and then back to Rwanda. It was one hell of an experience.
I'm a little wary of your budget though. You mentioned you've got 200k for this trip...I'll suggest you review your budget again and be sure it'll take you the whole way and back. Last time I checked, there were no ferries running between Dakar and Praia (Cape Verde), and a flight might take a huge chunk out of your pocket. So, check again. You don't want to get stranded in a foreign land. But again, where's the fun in it if you don't get stranded...pun intended.
Plan well, go, have fun, and come share with us. Don't forget to send pictures
I'm relatively new in dealing with stocks, but I've been following the current economic trends with keen interest. I'd like to invest in some of the dropping banking stocks. Someone here mentioned Zenith Bank will be a good deal.
Can anyone please point me in the direction of verified and efficient stockbrokers? Please respond publicly. Thanks in advance.
