Hello Foodies/Chefs!!

With Joy in my heart, I wish to announce to you guys that I am now a Pastry Chef. I graduated on Thursday.
Culinary School was hard for me but local boy scaled through. There were times i requested for deferment but peeps kept encouraging me and boosting my weakened morale.

Thanks all for your kind words. Next stop is Cuisine chef course...I don't know when but it will happen by God's grace.. Amen!

The fruit tart was my exam work.
Crust (dough) was made with Pâté sableé dough, filling was a combination of Lemon curd and strawberry compote. Topping Swiss meringue mixed with pastry cream. strawberry and banana slices.

Congrats dear, your dedication is commendable.
Well done

Snake worshippers, I sight you. I did my NYSC in Oba, Idemili. But, I know that Christ never worshipped Snakes. It then baffles me that Idemili Snake Worshippers also claim that they are Christians.

Hahahahaha
That’s my hometown, we don’t kill python.
I remembered when we travelled home for Christmas( when I was young), I was going to the stream with my cousins and we saw a big python, I died at the spot and resurrected my cousins were just laughing at me, one of my cousin just told the snake to move out of the way, that we were going to ekulu (the name of my village stream), the snake just moved out. They use to lift the snake with their hands sef.

I have seen kids lift Eke, seen people appeal to it to leave but never have I heard of the Eke hurting, suffocating or killing anyone in my place.

if you werent some immature childish person, then you would see my post as MY OPINION, and would bring further point to disagree/dismiss my point (just as i did with yours). i guess you expect everyone on NL to agree with what you wrote, lol! grow up child!!!!

Ignore that boy, maturity is far from him.
Too narrow minded to have an opinion!

When I read stuffs nairlander guys write about women and what they expect of them most time, I cringe!
It’s just a pity but I take consolation with the fact the we have good men out there.
Nairaland has truly gone to the dogs, see the kind of post that grace the front page.

Anita is manipulative, she will ruin Alex emotionally couple with the family issue he has already. He should forget Anita, she will be his doom

Remain friends with Debby, she seems more matured, though sometimes childish (women generally act like that, when they live someone). Forget about any sexual relationship with her, till she’s no longer with her baby Daddy.

Focus on your goal Alex!

Without me the thread gonna move on, one have to make that sacrifice.

Twice I tried to live this thread, I found out that people who haven't post before or that have post for long start posting, because some people do compare my post to theirs...meaning I deprive them for posting here.

I don't mind using myself as a sacrifice for the love I have for this thread.. once again Thanks.

Why do you do this all the time?
Grow some thick skin jor
Deprive who please?
They don’t post because they don’t want to, to one person that ain’t posting, two other persons are.
Trolls are always going to troll because that’s what they do best, don’t think it’s about you.

The best thing is to ignore them and carry on with what you doing.

Except few family and few friends, you are never going to get to me, talk more of some people in a faceless forum, I won’t even pay you mind.

It’s your decision, to stay or leave however, I think it’s time you stop allowing these people get to you!

God will never forgive that your friend if she drops this case

Did she consider her underage cousin that was raped?
they were only sorry because they were caught. Did the 24 year old think of his wife and child while pummeling the teenage girl?
i don't even understand the idea of giving these criminals food, is she their family or what?
what if her cousin died in the process?

Crime / Re: Trevor Noye Kidnaps "Racist" White Woman, Forces Her To Watch Program On Slavery by Chommieblaq(f): 7:07pm On Feb 19, 2020
African Americans can’t just move on and you know why? Most of their grand parent that experienced the harsh brunt of slavery and racism are still alive, they recount their experiences to their children, grand children.
I use to be like, these guys should move on and stop with this slavery stuff that many of them did not even experience, till I watched a documentary on Aljezeera not quite long ago, some of the people in that documentary are still alive(old though), hear them recount their experiences, I can’t remember the last time I cried that hard.
Have you seen this movie”when they see us”, how underage children were sent to jail for a crime they know nothing of, just because of their skin colour. They are all very much alive, how do you think they families feel about the whole thing?

African Americans have a very big sore that will take long to heal.
jagorinho:

almost all races have been enslaved at one point or the other, the roman empire had white slaves, the vikings raided what is now Scotland and Ireland for slaves, the Slavs (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro) have their first borns being shipped to the ottoman empire as a form of advanced slavery also known as blood tax, the Muslims took many Hindu slaves to the Arabian penninsula, read more about the Barbary slave trade... look every race has its own fair share of slavery tales but we black should move on, blacks have been enslaving blacks before the arrival of the Europeans,70% of slaves sold to Americas were already captured slaves by black slave dealers who sold them to European merchants, it was when the demand was so high that the European s had to go hinterland to capture unfortunate slaves, I would like you to read athis book " trade relations between the bight of Benin and Bahia from the 17th to 19th century " by Pierre verger, it is a good book on slavery on the west African coast

"Quietly Shut-Up"...lol *Pardon me

Your boyfrnd,He knws u are big on Tribalism, and u'll pick a typical Igbo guy over him dats obviously y he's claiming to be igbo.
I strongly suggest u pay a visit to his home town,u'll b shocked wat u'll discover.
However,d Anioma's are the most peaceful people in Delta State.

You guys are always having arguments about Deltan Igbo being Igbo or not, I think it depends on the individual.

I have extended families from Oko in Oshimili, just close to river Niger, they identify as Igbo, same with my friends from Ibusa, and I also have friends from Ika that don’t even identify with Anioma, they just claim to be Ika.
It all depends on individual but based on experience, people from Oshimili identify more with Igbos.

@op both of you don’t have stable income to raise a family, which I think is the major problem, other issues are just stereotypes.

Like poco said you can get her hand dryer or hair straightener, every lady needs one. You can go for the cheaper but also good product like Nova, just between 2-3k, or nice bracelet, notepad, lingering, a customised mug etc

You also know her better than us, look for something around your budget.

It's just appalling knowing some men boys think like that.
They have no business getting marred then, rent a house or build one and stay with all your family members there.

I don't hate them, I can't see what part of my post means hate. Did I wish them evil? Doesn't change the fact that it is common among the poor and average homes.

This is not the kind of topic the Indimi's and Buhari's will be talking about. If I were from a rich home, no amount of love will ever make me marry a struggling man. Their problems and mine are different, let's all face our type of problems.

Sis, it is poor troublesome peoples problem. Check all the stories and they have one thing in common, the relatives do not have anything doing where they are coming from or the financial gap between them is usually wide. Rich people are more of meddlesome, they like things going their way and standard. Hardly will you see an (mother) in-law with a hustle and space, come to leave permanently. I have never seen one!

If OP's relatives are all doing well with their own houses/apartments, I am sure the thought of them coming to STAY will never cross his mind.

Burn!!! grin grin

Walahi, na unfortunate people dey leave their house go dey disturb person o. Can you imagine Otedola going to Cuppy's matrimonial home.

This is poor people's problem. grin

It’s not poor people problem na troublesome people issues, I have seen rich people act that way too, though the rich do more of bullying.

I came from humble home, lost my Dad at a very young age, I know how much we struggled together growing up, many sacrifices etc. Does that automatically means I will leave my job, pack my bags and start staying with my sisters and their family because we suffered together?
First of all, nobody owe me or anyone shit, these entitlement character breeds other forms of things.

How do people even feel comfortable staying in someone’s house? An adult staying with another adult? I can’t get my head around it.

My mama no go leave her business come your house, even to do Omugwo for the complete duration is an uphill tasks, none of my sis will leave their job/business and family to come stay with you, neither will my brother leave his job and ego to come stay with you.
I have been begging my sis, to visit me since 2 years now, I never see her brake light.

I don’t have any problem with my husband family coming over, (visiting o) Aged parent coming to stay for medical reason and care is fine, but there should be boundaries and mutual respect, I’m in no competition with his family and if you are going to choose your family over me, forgetting that I left my own family, so we can form ours, abeg no marry me o, I won’t be a second class citizen in my matrimonial home

Like Pcguru1 said, I’m fortunate enough to come from a family where everyone minds their business and respect boundaries!

As in ehn... The whole thing is just too annoying.. Even though it's a faceless forum, does that give them the right to act senseless? The one that annoys me most is, amongst all the threads in nairaland where there could go to display their chidishness and idiocy, they choose this food section, a section that I call the oasis of nairaland because of how peaceful it use to be(before the arrival of their comments).. Their actions are just making me wish sense could be bought on eBay or Amazon but it cannot... Such a childish act from "so called men"...

Ignoring them will tire them quickly and they will move to their home (romance section and co), the reply they get is what give them the thumb up to continue trolling.
