This is bad, I know, using awful and disgusting, in same sentence. But that is what I feel about what I saw. Brother, D’Banj, a lot has changed since you left your brother and hustle partner, Ajereh, Michael Collins AKA Don Jazzy. Truth. Your songs have been nothing but trash.

I wonder if anyone has said anything nice to you since you started making songs outside Don Jazzy. If they have, it must have been for that singular hit song entitled ‘Oliver Twist.’ Kai! That song swept through Nigeria and the rest of the world. You would not believe that the ordinary child on the streets of Nsukka knows the lyrics of that song and the dance steps too.

In Nigeria, there are plenty factors that weigh us down. One is our inability to manage our weaknesses. I see you have been buying yourself expensive jewelleries. The other day, I saw on a blog that you wear a wristwatch worth my entire family and maybe inheritance. I commend your taste. You are a lucky and hardworking man.You deserve it, besides; ‘Oliver Twist’ made marks. It took the Nigerian music to a height that had never been seen in recent times.

Its toping charts, downloads, Youtube views and itunes purchases are amongst the few things I can mention.
Dear, D’Banj, Don Jazzy may not be an ideal partner, I bet you, no one is an ideal partner! Perfect couples quarrel and make up. It is the joy of having such union. I believe misunderstanding is part of us, as humans. I will run to the zoo the day I see a union that agrees on almost everything.Back to your music, I feel Don Jazzy was made to make good music with you. He may not only be your producer, but whatever input, from advice, to production, will go a long way. Besides, he has been miserable too, without you. I have seen his eyes in music videos. I think tribalism had a lot to play in your split. It is a sad reality, if I am right. Tribalism will eventually destroy Nigeria. Our young people think they belong to a superior tribe and so make silly comments which sometimes bring about misconception and then crisis. I once had a boss, who is Igbo, who felt my tribe’s men were lazy, just because she came to my state and saw a job and was privileged to be a high ranking staff. I have had people who think those from the north should be gatekeepers and cobblers. Someone called me a militant once in Abuja, at the Sheraton, when he discovered I was from the Niger-Delta. I forgave his gross stupidity. I think we should drink a cup of water when ignorant people say rubbish about our personalities or flaws and relate it to tribe.

You are a great young man, D’Banj. Few people have attained the height you have. I am encouraged to pursue what I am currently pursuing because I know I will triumph. Your likes and that of 2Face Idibia, despite your weaknesses are heroes. And you must recall that Kanye West met you because he had heard good stuff from you. When nothing good manifests, he may be forced to give you a new job description at Good Music, which may be mopping of the floor of the studio. This evil will not befall you. If you believe it, type amen.

D’Banj, pride is the worst enemy of any man who wishes to last longer anywhere. A drop of arrogance may work, but pride is detrimental. You were called the ‘entertainer’ because you offered entertainment. Today, Inyanya, Kcee, Flavour, Wizkid and Davido are doing better. Imagine Burna-Boy, chai, that boy has some senses oh. @zioni and jennykadry, tanx a lot for that info..I'll definitely tell him 2 be truthful..So u r saying that even though he lied in d visa form, he can still make amends in d medical form and be granted the visa??also will he have to fill the form before going for the medicals or he will have to do that while undergoing the medicals in the presence of the doctors?

My question to u is this..My younger brother got admission to university of sydney 4 his masters in pharmacy and has applied for Visa and all...this afternoon, he received a call frm the embassy in pretoria asking him 2 commence his medicals. However he seemed a bit jittery and he told me dat in d medical history segment of his visa form, wen asked if he ever had TB or has TB, he ticked NO. Bt truth is he had TB about 7yrs ago which was promptly treated and he has been fine ever since. However the Xray 2 be done will most likely detect that he once had TB..hw will d "false" info he gave them affect his chances of visa??what can be done nw??admit he had TB or jst pretend and stick 2 his original stance??Thank you

Reuben Abati explains why The President didn’t say Amen to Anti Corruption Prayer.




Abuja– Spokesperson for President Jonathan Ebele Goodluck, Mr Reuben Abati, has responded to accusations that Jonathan and members of his cabal refused to say amen to at this weekend’s democracy day Church Service when the preacher offered a prayerful curse against corruption amongst public officials.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Abati revealed aspects of protocol that are not widely known outside Government circles, and which would explain why Mr President and ministers didn’t say Amen to the prayer by Most Reverend Peter Akinola, committing corrupt politicians to the court of God.

According to him, it is a long standing presidential protocol that during Church or Mosque services, the President only offers a fixed number of amens or amis, as the case may be.

The Reverend had offered many prayers and demanded many amens prior to the contentious one, Abati explained, the result of which was that the day’s quota of amens had been used up.

“Why?” asked the spokesperson, “would President not say amen to a prayer against corruption?”

He advised preachers, pastors, imams etc, to familiarise themselves with government protocol and to also limit the length of their prayers and sermons.

“It is the same people accusing the President of not saying amen to anti-corruption prayer that would be accusing him of favouritism if he had broken with protocol and said more amens than is allowed by constitution,” Abati said.

Let me contribute by saying that as a pharmacist,there are certain drugs,especially cough syrups which contain alcohol.the alcohol is simply 2 serve as a solvent for the main ingredients of the syrup.Now,if as a christian,I have a cough,will my taking of a cough syrup containing alcohol to treat d cough constitute a sin?also,these syrups contain narcotics such as codeine..will taking this also constitute a sin?a glass of red wine has been deemed 2 b good for the heart..as a christian,will my desire 2 b in good health by taking a glass of red wine constitute a sin??the issue of smoking,while not stated in the bible,is subjective..the question 2 ask is "y is he/she smoking"??is it to keep warm(like those in the cold climates"?is it because my friend smokes and I want to be like him/her?there is nothing wrong with taking alcohol or smoking EXCEPT it is done out of moderation or the purpose for which it is intended for is defeated!!

@italo, yeah I know u are catholic..same here bro @oluomad,pls read Gospel of saint John 21 frm verse 25 and it is CLEARLY indicated there that NOT EVERYTHING that Jesus did was recorded in the bible..so there are visibly works,deeds, and actions that christians esp Catholics do that despite not being in d bible are still acceptable which brings me back to my earlier comment on teachings and traditions of the church..pray tell me,have I or rather have catholics added or subtracted anything??

italo: The truth is the bible contains d basic teachings with which christianity should be based on but does not contain EVERYTHING...just as you have a constitution dat governs a land,other "rules" such as etiquette,despite not being in d constitution,help one to be a proper citizen..apart from the Bible,catholics adopt the tradtional teachings of the church which existed before and after the bible.it is not a sin to eat meat on good fridays and ash wednesday bt it is a form of self denial..it doesn't have to be meat..it culd be extra luxury which we afford ourselves...

At the resumed hearing of the trial case of an alleged rape a 23-year-old Hellen Okpara, an ex- corps member of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by a prominent traditional ruler in Osun State, Oba Adebukola Alli, the Alowa of Ilowa in Obokun local government area of the state yesterday before an Osogbo High Court, the victim broke down in tears when the monarch asked her to show her bruised private part to the court to see and confirm.

The calm atmosphere in the court room rapidly tensed when the counsel to the accused monarch, Mr. Tawfiq Tewogbade, during his cross examination demanded that Miss Okpara should open the bruised private part in the court room or rather go into the judge’s chamber to show it to the judge, himself and the prosecution. The victim was annoyed by the demand of the monarch’s counsel as she started shedding tears in the witness dock.

It took the effort of the Principal’s state counsel, Mr. Biodun Badiora, to calm her down. The prosecution immediately objected to the question of the counsel.

According to Badiora: “My Lord, all what my learned friend was saying is tantamount to investigation and to annoy my witness. By section 228 of the Evidence Act, the court shall forbid any question which appears to the court to insult or annoy the witness. It is for the doctor to examine and police to investigate. So, I don’t know the reason why the counsel is asking her to show her private part to the court”.

But the monarch’s counsel informed the court that it’s a misconception on the part of the prosecution, adding that the demand was not to insult the victim but to verify her claim that the Oba actually bruised her private part.

Meanwhile, the presiding judge Oyejide Falola overruled the question from the defence counsel and said: “The question was raised for her to exhibit her nudity yesterday (Monday) and she answered you that she can’t. You can ask another question that won’t provoke her passion. She has no picture of it and she cannot exhibit her private part to the court or in the chambers”.

The monarch also alleged that he gave the ex-corps member the sum of N20,000 out of the N50,000 that she demanded for in order for her not to raise any scandal after the sexual intercourse but Miss Okpara denied the allegation, saying “I never asked the monarch of any money and he never gave me any money”.

The victim further said: “The Oba threw a bundle of N200 notes to me but I don’t know the actual amount and I rejected it. He then took the money inside his room and came out naked and started caressing me before he eventually raped me”.

However, the prosecution closed their case and Falola adjourned the case till May 2 for defence
