mrnilobrawn: I cant list the number of universities in canada that accept scan transcript, because i did not apply to all.
But did apply to uni ottawa, and uni new brunswick(unb). UNB has d feature for online applicant, but uni ottawa dont. For uni ottawa i email the graduate sec and she ask me to scan and send her my cv, personal statement, nd transcript.
Believe me i dont admited precisely three weeks after i sent all those to her.

So.....it worked for me, and am sure i will work for u too..smile

Quit a number of uni accept scan copies of transcrit for admission evaluation especialy when you apply online you can upload those. Once they make there decision on your application "if favourable" you wil then be ask to send official transcript.
Truth is, this schools know that alot of applicant dont just apply to a school.

Also note that mail the graduate secreatary of your intended school helps as well if there is no provision for transcript upload during your application. They are usually very friendly.

Well, some folks might have encounter different hurdle during there application contrary to this. I speak base on how i got my admission as I am yet to send my official transcript and am already admitted. Only difference is that your admission would be condtional..ie original transcript must be recieved before your first registration.

But uf collage is your choice, then go for it let transcript not be your problem.

If i have a copy of my transcript, can i just scan and send directly to the college? Or na my university go send am? ChriGo: .....Doing 1yr PGD in search of PR is not bad as i learnt recently....once you get ur 1yr post graduate work permit(Pgwp), and you get a job within 2-5 months....before your post graduate work permit expires, you can apply for the normal work permit every tom,dick and harry applies for and continue using it till you're ripe enough to apply for PR through the Canadian experience class(CEC) route which requires at least 1yr work experience......the gamble here is what if you don't get that professional job before your 1yr post graduate work permit expires ?....Note: you can't use a flipping burger job at Mc Donalds to apply through CEC route ....hence reason why peeps opt for a 2yrs program so as to bag a 3yrs post graduate work permit which gives you enough room and flexibility to do whatever you like...lol......But i would advice if you can only afford a 1yr program, then come do it.....

From experiences on this thread I think its difficult to convince a VO of ur genuine intentions going for a lesser program after ur 1st degree....u may need to consider dat...y wud a bsc holder wanna go for bsc again...unless u'r changing field entirely..it may work...I wud advise u go a pgd related to ur 1st degree....seriously we need to appreciate our 1st degrees guys...no be small thing, so I think we shud always progress unless there reliable reasons to divert....

As regards d PR thing after a longer stay studying, I believe there are always ways to get ur PR even after a 1yr program in canada...I'm not in canada yet, I don't know how easy or how it works, but I believe there will be a way...a lot of us desire this PR thing and we will get by Gods grace.

Maybe the house shud even let's talk a little about getting permanent residence after ones pgd or msc..especially if na 1yr. Enough of college and uni discussion. Deeply in my heart I know my own reason for choosing college instead of uni..u shud know urs too.

justwise: College is for FE while university is for HE, college has always been seen as a preparatory institution for university hence the discrimination.

In college you have teachers while in university you have lecturers, the value system has always given university graduates a bigger portion of respect than college graduates, whether this is right or wrong is not the argument.

Foreign students choose college for two reasons: cheaper fees and lenient entry requirements, you may be very intelligent with good result but got no money to get admission into top foreign universities, or you have the money but with poor result.

College is the cheap and cheerful option for those set of prospective students.
