I think that some people here are thinking with their behinds! Community policing is the answer to these problems. State police will curb a whole lot of these excesses. I have a right to my opinion considering the fact of where I come from and who I am....if you don't like the article leave me in peace abeg!

THE IMPLICATIONS OF GENERAL TY DANJUMAS COMMMENTS: THE DESTRUCTION OF NIGERIA BY CHRISTOPHER HARUNA HAMMAN

Over the weekend I did not have the time to take a look at the news as I always do due to the fact that I made new friends and was getting to understand them and their personalities (again as I always do). Only for this morning for me to wake up to check my e-mails and social media accounts to find out that one of our great legends and a national icon all by himself had addressed a group of young people at their convocation and within the address called on people to take up arms in the interest of self defense.

General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma is a legend all by himself. Agreed. However, he seems to want to destroy the very fabric of the country that made him so. The middle belt of this great country is the great uniting factor that bridges the divide between the conservatism of the north and the liberalism of the south. It is the very region that ultimately decides who wins or loses the presidential elections. It is the very place upon which the cradle of our national unity is birthed. Then you have one of the greats from that region call for the taking up of arms. One would then realize that we still have a long way to go in uniting Nigeria.

One obvious truth about the herdsman killings which cannot be ignored is that they employ guerrilla tactics in order to maintain an upper hand in the fluidity of conflict. As such, the balance of power when it comes to victory always lies in the hands of the so called herdsmen. As it is always with the rest of state when it comes to putting together an appropriate response to the newly formed menace, the government will take some time before results from all they are trying to do start to show.

One may fault the current administration on many things (which I do from time to time, just check my facebook wall), but not on security. The one thing that I have found to be quite impressive is President Buhari's commitment to the ensuring of the safety of lives and property of every Nigerian.

General Danjuma has just shot himself in the foot. This is because this is not 1980 or even 1998 that people will forget his statements in a hurry. This brings to the fore the issue of the Generals'minders and communications advisers. Were they asleep when he made those comments? He has just influenced a whole generation of young people to fight anyone that does not resemble them either in tribe, interest or religion and has forgotten that the great state of Nigeria owes its very existence to the unity in diversity concept that makes us the powerhouse that we are.

We cannot ignore the Nigeria becoming Somalia comment. We should not forget that it is words like these from people like him that cause the very scenarios that made such places to become known for the carnage and destruction that occurred. Nigeria is too big for anyone who has become like a living demigod to some to wake up one day and call for civil violence on a massive scale. Imagine if every person in Nigeria who can bear arms to have a gun, imagine what kind of destruction and waste to human life can occur on such a scale? The military is right on this one and the restriction of arms is not a bad thing in itself. It is for our security nationally.

Probably it is time for the General at 80 to take some time off to relax and enjoy his family. Such comments that fan the flames and embers of national disunity with the hints of insurrection and are not needed especially considering the fact that next year is an election year or is General TY trying to tell us something that we need to know politically? Is this what the General wants to be known for? A conflict creator?

Nigerias' future depends on the ability of Nigerians to believe in Nigeria. It appears that even the General has stopped believing in the Nigeria that made him what he is today. And many Nigerians were hailing his comments and supporting the bearing of arms by the general civilian populace. Only if they understood the very implications of those comments. That is when and where you hear things like mass genocide, civil war and so on and so forth. Anybody who understands the results of warfare would be careful to speak when talking about such things.

We as Nigerians should believe in the politics of ideas. Not one of tribe, religion or separatist sentiments. Imagine if the Northern Muslims and Southern Christian Generals and National Icons also call for the bearing of arms. What kind of scenario would that create?

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. United we stand. Divided we fall!

@ OP I think that ur mindset has a lot to do with the pple u attract Nigerian or not. Nigeria is a very complex country which is full of different kinds of ppl all across the board. Widen ur scope, don't get urself into a compromising situation and have fun...besides yes many Nigerian men think that one has to test the car that has just been serviced, but also many just want to have a partner who understands. Look for the type that suits you best....

Now most people do not understand the fundamental basics behind cryptocurrencies. If someone were to deliver on the basic science behind the technologies that cryptocurrencies are then it would be easy for the average nigerian to spot scams from afar.

I don't think seun is anti cryptocurrency per se. I just think that he is against anything or anyone shady that will dupe Nigerians out of their hard earned money. The aim of such a thread should not be to advertise programs, but to share information that could be life changing. The more people know about what cryptocurrencies truly are, the less likely they would be duped. It is that simple.

InvestmentRe: Dont Fall For Most Initial Coin Offering by chris2h(m): 8:38am On Oct 16, 2017
@ OP I agree with you in SOME instances, how ever a correction only occurs when theres too much hype (Which happens in SOME ICOs these days not all). IT can only occur when the token is a Work token (as most ICOs portray their tokens to be). That is when a cryptocurrency token is looked upon as an asset. However, when it is a usage token, the cryptocurrency becomes subjects to the forces of demand and supply as and when due. This is because it is used as a means of exchange so its own liquidity, amount of tokens left to be mined, difficulty in mining (hash rate), volume of tokens in circulation and so on and so forth affect the currency's ability to be valued. The above listed factors actually work against the supposed bubble effect because too many players have come into the game to keep the token from being used and valued speculatively. Please let me know your thoughts. I think we should start a thread to educate Nigerians on WHAT cryptocurrencies truly are, how to use them and how to benefit from them. What do you say?

@ Op I love your good intentions. However PLEASE do not even classify TBC as a cryptocurrency. It lacks all the points of a true cryptocurrency. It is not peer to peer, has no independently verifiable blockchain, no proof of work , no hashing technology behind it and no decentralized set of exchangers, no independent set of miners, and so on and so forth. You may not necessarily be right about the bubble effect when it comes to TRUE cryptocurrencies. This is because cryptocurrencies are money backed by mathematics exchanged based on trust. So how can money in itself have a bubble effect?Although I am expecting a couple of ICOs to fail, I see those that meet a true need to continue to be relevant into the future especially those driven by SMART CONTRACTS in the ethereum system of cryptocurrencies. Please do try to keep up with the cryptocurrency World.

Best Regards,

Walking by....nlanders dont have to be this mean now @ naughtydiana I like ur sense of freedom please dont let anybody take that away from you. @ OP i dont think there is anything wrong with you. You are just discovering a new part of yourself that you did not know about. So don't freak out. Forget about our crude society which is just moving in any direction and watch your back. Whatsoever you want to do, do it discretely because of the legal repercussions and ramifications and please calm down. There is nothing that is happening to you that as not happened before.

BusinessRe: WANTED URGENTLY: Professional Business Plan Developer by chris2h(m): 11:19pm On Jul 26, 2015
First of all,

before you go looking for a business plan developer, there are a few questions that need to be asked:

1. What is the exact purpose of the business plan?

2. Where is the location of the proposed business?

3. What are the features of the business?

4. What are your strategies for the successful operation of the business?

5. What are your marketing strategies?

6. In the analysis of your financial implications, what are the most important things that you need to start the business functionally speaking ( path of least cost)?

7. How soon do you expect to turn a profit (most start-ups have a gestation period)?

8. If you were given a loan, how soon do you expect to pay back (in your cashflow statement)?

If you can answer these questions, then maybe we can talk! I may even help you write the business plan yourself without the unnecessary costs involved!

My phone number is in my signature!

TravelRe: Nigeria International Passport Renewal by chris2h(m): 9:39pm On Jul 13, 2015
hello sir,

am not sure what the procedure is for missing passports but you have to ask the immigration officers what to do BUT most likely you would need a police report and/or a court affidavit stating the circumstances that led to the loss of your passport. Make sure you have done both to serve as evidence that your passport is missing. Of course you have to confirm first from the immigration office. They in my opinion are one of the most professional uniformed officers in our Nation today.

Cheers!

Hi,

I found out that it costs about N20,000 plus a bit for d immigration officers (Nigerian factor). Just locate any Federal Secretariat with an immigration installation and ask for the passport office. They should be able to answer all your questions.

Cheers!
