REPENT, THE HOUR HAS COME Text: Revelation 14:6-7 “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth… Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.” Church, there are moments in Scripture when heaven becomes silent and there are moments when heaven begins to shout. Revelation 14 is one of those chapters where heaven raises its voice. The angel is not whispering. The angel is not negotiating. The angel is not suggesting. The angel is crying with a loud voice because time is running out. The message is simple: Fear God. Give Him glory. Repent. Why? Because the hour has come. Notice carefully that the Bible does not say the day is coming. It says the hour has come. An hour speaks of urgency. An hour is not a distant future. An hour is not something you postpone. An hour is something that demands immediate action. This is why repentance cannot be delayed. Many people are waiting for a better season to return to God. They say: “When I am older, I will repent.” “When I finish making money, I will repent.” “When I finish enjoying the world, I will repent.” But Revelation 14 destroys that mentality. The angel announces that God’s clock is moving. The hour has come. The greatest deception of Satan is not making people reject God. The greatest deception is making people think they still have time. The rich fool in Luke 12 thought he had many years. That night his soul was required. Judas thought he had more opportunities. He never saw another sunrise. Felix told Paul, “When I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.” The Bible never records that convenient season. The tragedy of many people is not that they hate God. The tragedy is that they keep postponing God. Revelation is not primarily a book about beasts, dragons, and mysterious symbols. At its heart, Revelation is a book about God’s final appeal to humanity. Before judgment falls, mercy speaks. Before wrath comes, grace calls. Before the earth shakes, heaven warns. That is the character of God. God never judges without warning. When Noah preached, God was warning. When Jonah entered Nineveh, God was warning. When John the Baptist cried in the wilderness, God was warning. And in Revelation 14, God is warning again. Repent. The hour has come. The remarkable thing about Revelation 14 is that even at the edge of judgment, God is still preaching the Gospel. Verse 6 says the angel had the everlasting Gospel. Think about that. The world is rebellious. The nations are corrupted. The hearts of men are hardened. Yet God is still extending mercy. This reveals something beautiful about our God. He is a God who wants repentance more than punishment. Ezekiel 33:11 says: “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked.” God’s desire is not destruction. His desire is restoration. But restoration begins with repentance. Repentance is more than feeling sorry. Many people are sorry but not repentant. Esau was sorry. Judas was sorry. But biblical repentance is a turning. It is a change of direction. If a man is driving toward destruction and suddenly turns around, that is repentance. Repentance is not tears. Repentance is transformation. Repentance is not emotion. Repentance is surrender. Repentance is not saying, “Lord forgive me.” Repentance is saying, “Lord change me.” The church today needs a revival of repentance. We have many conferences but little repentance. Many songs but little repentance. Many sermons but little repentance. Many church activities but little repentance. Yet every major revival in Scripture began with repentance. Before Pentecost came repentance. Before restoration came repentance. Before blessing came repentance. Before revival came repentance. The problem with our generation is that we want God’s promises without God’s process. We want crowns without crosses. We want revival without repentance. We want heaven without holiness. But Revelation reminds us that God is still holy. The angel cries: Fear God. This generation has lost the fear of God. People fear governments. People fear economic collapse. People fear witches. People fear enemies. But they do not fear God. When the fear of God disappears, sin becomes comfortable. When the fear of God disappears, compromise becomes normal. When the fear of God disappears, people begin to play with eternity. But the angel says: Fear God. Fear Him because He is holy. Fear Him because He is righteous. Fear Him because He is judge. Fear Him because one day every secret will be revealed. The hour has come. Look further into Revelation 14. The chapter describes two harvests. One harvest gathers the righteous. The other harvest gathers those appointed for judgment. This tells us that humanity is moving toward separation. The world thinks everybody is going to the same destination. Revelation says otherwise. There are two harvests. One unto life. One unto judgment. This is why repentance matters. Repentance determines which harvest receives you. The frightening thing about harvest is that harvest is always the result of what was planted. Nobody plants maize and harvests mangoes. Nobody plants sin and harvests righteousness. Nobody plants rebellion and harvests peace with God. The harvest reveals the seed. What are you planting today? Secret sin? Bitterness? Pride? Unforgiveness? Compromise? Because the hour is coming when every seed will produce fruit. Revelation 14 teaches us that God is patient but God’s patience has an appointed limit. For years Noah preached. Then the door closed. For years Pharaoh resisted. Then judgment fell. For years Jerusalem ignored the prophets. Then destruction arrived. For years humanity rejects God’s voice. Then Revelation declares: The hour has come. My brothers and sisters, the greatest sign that the hour has come is not merely world events. It is the condition of men’s hearts. People call evil good. Truth is mocked. Holiness is ridiculed. Sin is celebrated. The spirit of the age is rebellion against God. Yet in the midst of darkness, God’s voice still echoes: Repent. The hour has come. Maybe there is someone hearing this message. You have drifted from God. You still attend church, but your heart is far from Him. You sing worship songs, but your secret life is different. You know the language of Christianity, but you have lost intimacy with Christ. The Spirit of God is calling you back. Repent. The hour has come. Perhaps there is a leader who has become proud. Perhaps there is a worker who has become careless. Perhaps there is a believer carrying hidden sin. Perhaps there is someone who once burned with passion for God but now lives spiritually cold. Hear the voice of heaven. Repent. The hour has come. One day the final sermon will be preached. One day the final invitation will be given. One day the final altar call will be made. One day the final opportunity will pass. But today mercy is still speaking. Today grace is still available. Today the blood of Jesus still cleanses. Today the door is still open. Therefore do not harden your heart. Do not delay. Do not postpone. Do not assume tomorrow belongs to you. Repent today. Return today. Surrender today. Because according to heaven’s announcement: The hour has come. May we not be found sleeping when God is calling. May we not be found compromising when God is speaking. May we not be found delaying when God is inviting. May we hear the cry of heaven and respond with brokenness, humility, and genuine repentance. In Jesus’ name. Amen. |
Beloved, today we gather under a divine burden and call — a call to return to the heart of God. Our topic, “Returning to God: The Path of Repentance and Righteousness,” is more than a sermon; it is a spiritual invitation. It is a message that echoes the cry of heaven in a time when many have strayed, grown lukewarm, or become distracted by the pleasures and pressures of the world. To “return to God” suggests that we have wandered. It acknowledges that something precious has been lost — a connection, a sensitivity, a purity, a devotion — and now God is calling us back to Himself. In the book of Joel 2:12-13, God says: "Even now," declares the Lord, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning. Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate." This is the heart of the Father — He doesn’t want outward show; He wants inward transformation. He is not looking for religion; He is looking for relationship. Understanding Repentance Repentance is the first step on the journey back to God. But true repentance is not merely feeling sorry for sin; it is a turning away from sin and a turning back to God. In the original Greek, the word “repent” (metanoia) means a change of mind — but not just any change; it’s a deep, radical change that leads to a new direction. The prodigal son in Luke 15 is a perfect example. He took his inheritance and went far from the father, wasting it in wild living. But when he came to himself, he said, “I will arise and go to my father…” That’s repentance — a realization of brokenness and a decision to return. God is always waiting with open arms — not to punish, but to restore. Isaiah 55:7 says, "Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on them..." Understanding Righteousness Once we repent, we don’t just go back to our old life. We now walk in righteousness. What is righteousness? It is right standing with God and right living before God. It is both a position and a practice. As a position, righteousness is given to us through Christ. “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21) As a practice, righteousness is the life we now live to please God — holy, pure, obedient, and guided by the Holy Spirit. The Bible says in 1 John 3:7: "Little children, let no one deceive you: whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous." Righteousness is not perfection, but it is a pursuit. It is hungering and thirsting after God's ways — and Jesus says those who do so will be filled (Matthew 5:6). The Link Between Repentance and Righteousness Repentance cleanses the heart; righteousness fills it with God’s character. Repentance is the gate; righteousness is the path we walk afterward. The two cannot be separated. Many today want the blessings of God without repentance. Others want to be called righteous without submitting to God’s standards. But God is calling us to a complete return — not partial, not superficial, but full and wholehearted. A Personal Call This message is not just for the world or the unbelievers. It is for the Church. It is for you and me. Even believers can stray. Even spiritual leaders can fall into routine, compromise, or coldness. But today, God is saying: “Come back. Come back to your first love. Come back to a place of purity. Come back to righteousness. Come back to Me.” And He promises: "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow..." (Isaiah 1:18) Joel 2:12–13 “Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart... Rend your heart and not your garments.” God's call to return is a call of love, not condemnation. The message is simple: No matter how far we’ve gone, we are never too far for grace to reach us. Biblical Examples: The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–24) – He wasted everything, yet the father ran to meet him. That’s God’s posture toward the repentant. David (Psalm 51) – A man after God’s heart fell into deep sin, but when he returned in humility, he was restored. Today, God is not asking you to fix yourself before coming. He’s simply saying, “Come back to Me.” |
The gospel is not only about blessings, healing, or breakthroughs—it begins with repentance. Repentance is the foundation of salvation and the key to escaping eternal condemnation. Today, God is making a passionate call to His people and the whole world: repent and live. There is a real danger in rejecting this call—a danger that leads to eternal death. MAIN TEXT READING: EZEKIEL 18:30–32 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.” The people of Israel were blaming their current suffering on the sins of their ancestors. But in Ezekiel 18, God corrects them—He declares that every soul is responsible for their own actions, and every individual will be judged according to their own ways. This is not just a message to Israel then, but to all people now: Repent or perish. Verse 30: “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD…” This is a declaration of individual accountability. No one will be judged based on the sins or righteousness of others—not parents, not children. “I will judge you…” – God is not a passive observer. He is the righteous Judge of all the earth (Genesis 18:25), and His judgment is perfect, personal, and impartial. “Every one according to his ways” – This cancels the false hope that family background, church membership, or tradition can save anyone. You must walk in righteousness personally. We must examine our own ways. God is not judging groups but individual souls. He knows your secret sins. He sees your thoughts, your motives, your actions. His judgment is sure and unavoidable (Romans 2:5–6). “…Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.” “Repent” – Change your mind about sin. Hate it. Forsake it. This is not a surface apology but a deep, sincere sorrow leading to total transformation. “Turn yourselves” – Take personal responsibility. God won’t force anyone. You must make a deliberate decision to abandon all sin. “From all your transgressions” – Not some, not most—all. Half-repentance is false repentance. “So iniquity shall not be your ruin” – Iniquity ruins lives. It breaks homes, destroys destinies, separates from God, and leads to eternal damnation. True repentance is the only escape. Don’t delay. Every day in sin deepens ruin. The longer you wait, the harder your heart becomes (Hebrews 3:13). Repent today. Point 1: Salvation Is Personal Key Text: “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD…” – Ezekiel 18:30a 1. God Deals with Individuals, Not Groups Although the verse begins by addressing the “house of Israel,” it immediately narrows the focus: “every one according to his ways.” This means that God’s judgment and salvation are never collective by default—they are personal and individual. You will not be saved because your parents are saved. You will not be judged based on your church's holiness unless you also walk in holiness yourself. Every person will stand alone before God. Romans 14:12 – “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” In other words, God will not ask, “Was your pastor holy?” but rather, “Were you holy?” He will not ask, “Was your church sound?” but “Did you live according to the truth you heard?” 2. Personal Responsibility Cannot Be Transferred In Ezekiel 18, the Israelites were using a proverb to shift blame: “The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge” (Ezekiel 18:2). They were claiming that they were suffering because of their parents' sins. But God responded clearly: “As I live… ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. Behold, all souls are mine… the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:3–4) God was correcting their spiritual excuse-making. He was teaching that every soul is directly responsible for their choices. No one will be able to say, "I sinned because of society, my upbringing, or peer pressure." Each soul makes decisions—and will answer for them. 3. Repentance Must Be Personal Just as judgment is individual, repentance must be personal. You can’t repent on behalf of someone else. You can’t be saved through another person’s faith. Proverbs 28:13 – “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Notice: “he that covereth” and “whoso confesseth” – it’s personal, not collective. True repentance involves: Personal conviction – You are broken by the weight of your own sin. Personal confession – You speak directly to God, with a sincere heart. Personal decision – You choose to forsake every known sin and walk in obedience. Being in a good church won’t save you if your heart is not broken before God. Having godly parents won’t save you if you don’t personally surrender to Christ. 4. Holiness Must Be Lived Personally Salvation is not inherited. It's not passed down like a family name. It must be experienced personally. Judas walked with Jesus, heard every message, saw every miracle—yet perished because he never repented. Lot’s wife was married to a righteous man, but her heart was in Sodom, and she perished. 2 Corinthians 5:10 – “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body…” 5. Personal Salvation Produces Personal Fruit When someone is genuinely saved: Their life changes. Their choices reflect Christ. Their heart pursues holiness. Matthew 7:17 – “Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit…” No one can live righteously for you. No one can obey God on your behalf. |

As a child, I was always fascinated by my mother's unwavering positivity and infectious smile. She was the kind of person who could light up any room with her warmth and kindness. Her love was unconditional, and I knew that I could always count on her to be there for me no matter what. Growing up, I remember countless moments where my mother's presence brought me immense happiness. Whether it was her homemade meals that filled my belly or her words of encouragement that lifted my spirits, she never failed to put a smile on my face. As I grew older, I began to appreciate her even more. I realized that her happiness wasn't just limited to our family, but extended to everyone she met. Her selflessness and compassion knew no bounds, and she would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Today, as my mother celebrates her birthday, I can't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for everything she has done for me and our family. She has sacrificed so much to ensure our well-being, and I know that I wouldn't be where I am today without her unwavering support and love. So on this special day, I want to wish my mother a very happy birthday. You are the light of our lives and the glue that holds our family together. May this year bring you all the joy and happiness that you deserve, and may you continue to spread your warmth and love to everyone around you. Thank you for being my mother, my happiness.

MAMA ABA 2023: FOUR (4) YEARS IS ENOUGH FOR HON LADY JANE OGBAUTA TO SET A STANDARD IN ABA CENTRAL We are here again. No better way to bless you this morning than to bring good news to you this morning. It is news of hope for Aba Central people. It is the arrival of better things to happen to Aba Central people. This hope depends on our individual choices. We have not come with loads of *PROMISES* but with *COMMITMENTS* that are strategic and implementable. Could you please make some sacrifice for this? We are not asking for what you can't possibly give. We are asking for just a tenure to teach 'them' how to represent and serve you better. If we may ask: Is a vote for the same old system really going to change anything for the better? Should we not seek something better? Do you know we deserve more than what we are currently offered? You can't possibly start learning how to use your right hand at old age just because it is normal to use it. It is either you are forced to stop using both hands or simply allowed to use your left hand no matter how ineffective you can make use of it. Leading, representing or serving the people is what is part of you, you don't learn or forced to do this. We need to set a standard for others coming. We need practical approach to addressing and meeting our growing governance needs in Aba Central. Just give Hon lady jane Jane Ogbauta 4 years and see the difference. MAMA ABA will not wait for funds to acquire keke NAPEP, motor cars, Sewing machines, construction of roads, electricity projects, good primary health care and Generating Sets for our people. We have a workable strategy and sustainable programme to address our challenges. We will hit the ground running the moment *Hon jane Jane Ogbauta* if elected. No more excuses. You can't give what you don't have. That's is why they keep giving avoidable and unacceptable excusess. HON. IHEANACHO CHINEMEREM

The Federal Government of Nigeria has decided to send Nigerian troops to Ukraine in support to fight Russia. This is coming after the Ukrainian president, Zelensky, alledged Friday that his country had been left on its own to fight Russia after the Kremlin launched a large-scale invasion that killed 130 Ukrainians on the first day. “Who is ready to fight alongside us? I don’t see anyone. Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of NATO membership? Everyone is afraid,” he added. But the Nigerian government has been the first country to respond promising to send over ten thousand Nigerian troops to Ukraine to fight. According to President, Buhari, it is his duty to support any country that is in a serious crisis the same way they would support Nigeria. THEWATCH NEWS gathered that the Russian forces have gained entrance into Ukraine living over 137 Ukrainians dead. Also, The Federal Government of Nigeria is making urgent plans to evacuate Nigerians from Ukraine amid the escalating crisis in the country. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been reassured by the Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine of the safety of Nigerians in that country and measures being undertaken to keep them safe and facilitate the evacuation of those who wish to leave. Many Nigerians have taken to social media lambasting the president for his support to Ukraine adding that his country has been suffering from insecurity, a poor economy and lack of jobs opportunity for the past seven years. #Copied |

Prophecy is a message inspired by God, a divine revelation that comes with warning, instructions. The Bible says that prophets “spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit.” (2 Peter 1:21). So a prophet is one who receives God’s message and transmits/declares it to others.—Acts 3:18. God used an angel to instruct Moses about the message he was to deliver to Pharaoh of Egypt.
