I went to a small firm yesterday and when I told them 40, they said it was too much. Imagine 40k too much for a graduate? Well I guess every graduate is worth much more, if the company can pay and you have no job yet, why not accept their offer and keep searching for another? Job no dey ever finish. People resign everyday' people are also employed everyday. May God grant us good success.

It wasn't greed dear. l don't know why employers capitalise on the salary question to exploit potential employees. lt was a multinational company and l have Msc, though without experience. Some companies can afford to pay higher but when you quote an amount lower than the structured salary, they happily leap up in joy for their exploitation games.

The truth is this: Love is often times not instantaneous. It starts with camaraderie...and now you enjoy his company. l think you are softly falling for this guy but you don't know it yet. We sometimes resort to self-denial when we are scared of commitment or going too deep. l bet you that when you see him with another woman, you are not only going to feel jealous but dejected!

I am from Umuahia. Any village can decide what they want, but the official bride price in my village is N60. This is the amount returned to the man in case of divorce. But of course there is a list for entertainment/refreshment which can be bargained/scaled to the ability of the groom.

I am from Umuahia too and l totally disagree with you. The elderly men and women are very greedy that they dont agree to bargain/scale down anything to the ability of the groom. I have witnessed several marriage proceedings including that of my relatives. When the groom and his family pleaded for a reduction in the outrageous marriage list, they vehemently refused and threatened to leave. You know what? They actually carried out their threat and left! They actually came back after pleadings from all and sundry. This wasnt a one time experience.
I want to use this forum to expose the avaricious nature of people from that part who made no contributions to a childs life but will come and start dictating what ought or ought not when the child has grown. Is unfair! The parents are always on the loosing side as they will encourage the prospective groom to forget about doing anything for them but should rather fulfill the requirements in the marriage list for the Umunnas, umuadas, the youths and others. Thats for the understanding parents oooo.
