Either of the two of Iwobi and Michael Olise can play CM while the other plays AM or vice versa. That will also improve the offensive play, while Ndidi can concentrate better on his defensive duty as he does at Leicester. Or Iwobi can continue playing as a LM in the 4-4-2 formation where he can momentarily drift to the middle to deliver some brilliant passes like he did against Lesotho, while you have somebody like Olise or Aribo manning the CM position.
With Kalu and Ademola Lookman in the team, Iwobi has no business going anywhere near our left wing. I would rather he pitched his tent at the CM or maintain his primary AM position if we fail to secure the services of Olise.

But unfortunately majority don't want to agree to dis fact...with our present midfield status...he's still very relevant to our squad..infact if u ask me in whom I prefer BTW etebo and aribo ...I will pick d former(whether we re facing African team or not; any team whatsoever)
I thought I was the only one who doesn't rate Aribo, that still doesn't make Etebo anything more than a carpenter, though. I wan to see what an Ejaria can do in that position, but I still have my reservations on him, since he can't get that leap from the championship to a top league. I wonder why we never tried Iwobi in that position, especially after we seem to have waited in futility for Nwakali to assume the mantle. I think Iwobi wouldn't look outta sorts playing as a CM as Ndidi anchors

German born footballer and City's Lucas Nmecha ready switch to Nigeria.
Born in Hamburg to a German mother and a Nigerian father, but raised in England, Nmecha is eligible to play for Nigeria, Germany and England

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGs8kZcBwec

abeg, how true is this?
Some of these TV guys really don't know jack about FIFA and football rules in general. I can tell you that we have the best brains in this thread and whatever you get from some people in this thread can't be argued unlike the trash I read from some of these so called TV journalists . So, these bunch of jokes didn't know that Lukas Nmecha has had his onetime change of allegiance from England to Germany, hence, can no longer represent any other nation but Germany?

That's right.
I couldn't continue watching the match because the overall display of that team was a joke for me.
coupled with the condition of the pitch. Looked like an inter school match.

How come do we have many available wingers/forward/strikers and very few Attacking midfielders. Is it that younger footballers don't aspire to be like Zidane, Pirlo, Xavi or what? Imagine if SE had playmakers
I have been asking this same question. Every young footballer from Nigeria claims to idolize Okocha, but none plays in his position undecided

I think I have addressed that for him. I understood where he is coming from maybe even more than he thinks. grin

But he is right. Goals alone does not define a finisher. The volume of chances missed also tells me more about a striker's finishing.
What else defines a better or more clinical finisher if not goals which is a product of chances taken or missed over possible chances created?

Yes, Lewandowski is a better striker than Onauchu, but Onauchu is more clinical than Lewandowski

Onuachu being a better finisher is debatable.

There is more to finishing than just goals.
I know there is more to being a striker than just goals, but please tell "what is more to finishing than just goals".

As Onauchu's move to Lyon gathers more momentum, with Sadiq already penciled down by Monchi, I just can't wait for summer, all things being equal, to have such options in our striking department as;

Osimhen - Napoli

Iheanacho - Leicester

Onauchu - Lyon

Sadiq - Sevilla

Then, others like Moffi, Maja, Awoniyi, Ugbo

Omo, like this, our opponents go dey pee their pants whenever we release list of invited players to prosecute a match, then, I go dey taunt my Ghanaian and SA friends grin

Yap I agree. He should buckle up because with simy, Sadiq and terem waiting on the sideline, our 9 shirt is open for Grabs. As for Chukwueze, when lookman and Kalu returns, he will Rightfully drop to the bench

Onauchu seems to be a more clinical finisher than Osimhen, though Osimhen is a better all round striker.

Glad to have Uzoho and Maduka, but Uzoho trumps Maduka, and should be our regular starter while Maduka starts from the bench.

He is not even fully (100%) fit yet.
You mean the injury was there even before the world cup?

Watch out for Cape verde o. They beat Cameroon 3-1 and qualified for the AFCON. Nearly all their players play in Spain.
Cape Verde dey ball some times, but no, they don't have players from the Spanish league, maybe from the Portuguese leagues as they were colonised by the Portuguese and have very strong ties with Portugal

Because Rohr don spoil us abi? grin No more calculators and permutations and wishing for someone to lose somewhere so that we can win by 2 or 3 goals margin to qualify grin grin grin grin

Anyways that's not the final qualifying round. We have to play the winner of another group on a home and away basis to qualify for the world cup. Na the potential big qualifier be that.
With the quality of stars we have now, even Goodjoe, Icon4s, Supernerd, Andree44 would esily qualify us without stress, nothing too special about that, so don't make it a Rohr thing. If Rohr had met us when we had only Mikel and Yobo as our quality players, we would not be qualifying for any tourney at all.

Remove all the FBs from the team and see how our worth reduces.

First of all, you're getting something wrong, don't expect to have an FB in Bayern or Barca or world class. Its only possible with our local players. That would never happen because anyone at that level would hardly choose Nigeria.

But FBs play a critical role. They balance the squad and ensure that you don't not have exceptional players and carpenters playing together in one team. Because that has always been our problem. So you see their importance now abi?
What correlation does what you wrote here have with the post you jumped on with your brains in your seminiferous tubules? Did I ever say they were not important? What my post read was that they ain't no exceptional talents, and in my books they ain't worth this stress and brawls.

I don't get moved by these foreign born or bred players no more, none of them has ever turned out an exceptional player, for either Nigeria or any of their adopted countries. Our best players have always been the ones we produced down here in Nigeria.

Funny enough, the only exceptions to me have been the ones we turned down - Alaba and Emmanuel Adebayo, and none of those who turned us down for their adopted European countries have come an inch close to these two.
