drDoom3: Pepe plays volleyball, then. Sangare at PSV and Akpa-Akpro at Lazio are at higher levels clubwise than Aribo at Rangers. I wonder how Akpoguma suddenly became our best CB, better than Bailly of Man United and Boly of Wolves. If it is by injury, Akpoguma has also been injured too. Bailly without injury is a starter at Man United. Can Akpoguma even start at Arsenal? Lets not even discuss how Chukwueze is better than Cornet at Lyon, after Cornet's UCL heroics last season. But let's leave that one. Even Jeremie Boga? Haba. Bros na the kind things we dey read here oo |

TheSuperNerd: Kessie is a CM you say, yet he had played 19 league games as a DM this season and only 9 as a CM. He is both a DM and a CM but he has featured predominantly as a DM so don't tell me crap about a lad I follow so well despite not having an Ivorian babe like you. You want to forcefully present Kessie as a "CM only" by fire by force to smuggle him into the team abi. Kolewerk. Stop deceiving these people, compare the stats of Kessie who alternates positions from CM to DM, to the stats of Aribo who plays consistently as a CM, to understand you making mockery of these players you over hyping. I wonder that sane coach that would bench a Kessie to accommodate an Aribo in this planet. 1st frame - Jessie 2nd frame - Aribo

TheSuperNerd: That's the whole point and it defeats the fallacy that CIV have got a stronger XI than Nigeria now. The end.
As for that Ivorian Obsession demon that is tormenting you..... I speak to it right now!!! No coach in his senses will ever play Akpoguma over Boly. Also, statistically, it is an insult on Boly having Akpoguma placed beside him. 1st two frames are Akpoguma's stat, while the last two are Boly's. See for yourself and stop deceiving these people

TheSuperNerd: In fact, I will also address this lineup Chris posted of his inlaws pages back.
Even in a 4-4-2, we trump the Ivorians.
GK- Okoye/Uzoho over Gbohouo.
CB- Akpoguma over Boly CB- Bailly keeps his place.
RB- Aurier keeps it (but I insist it can be debated also) LB- Zaidu owns it.
CM- Aribo over Ibrahim Sangare CDM- Ndidi over Kessie
RW- Chukwueze >>>> Amad Diallo. I cannot actually believe someone thinks Amad will be picked ahead of Chuks right now. Being at Man Utd is no guarantee. He is not even as important or as influential to Man Utd as Chuks is for Villareal.
LW- I will drop Pepe and all our left wingers and move Zaha to LW.
CF (SS) - Kelechi Iheanacho undisputably trumps any Ivorian central attacking option. He will bench Zaha too in this position but I believe Zaha deserves to be in this lineup which I why I pushed him back to LW over Pepe. Can't have Pepe at LW while Zaha drops out just because we have a better CF than him.
CF (Main Striker)- Undisputably Osimhen. No caps. No further words needed.
Oya Sebi CIV still get Stronger XI pass us?? Na wa for some of una. This Ivorian obsession sef... Stop deceiving some guys who do not keenly follow African football. Kessie is a CM not DM. So, it is Kessie over Aribo. Ndidi battles Sangare and fit again Jean Gbamin of Everton. Zaidu >> Singo and makeshift Cornet Aurier >> all our RBs Baily >> Ekong, Awaziem Boly >> Balogun, Akpoguma Ndidi >> Sangare and Gbamin on DM Kessie >> Aribo in CM Zaha >> all our LWGs Pepe = Chucks. But in dept, Amad(Man United) and Hamed(Sassoulo) over any other player we have behind Chuks Iwobi >> Boga |

TheSuperNerd: Chris, it's only in your world that CIV has depth compared to the Super Eagles or has a better team. But it's what obsession can do.
We have an Incoming Torunarigha and I will pick him over Boly. We have Akpoguma and I will pick him over Bailly. No be by "I get am before".
But for the sake of durable synergy and understanding, Ekong and Balogun is good to go because they have this balance and maturity in their combo. The bolded is the partnership I want to give a shot. It looks good on paper. Ekong is too error prone for my liking and he ain't got no pace, neither can he pass to save his life |

TheSuperNerd: The Ekong-Balogun combo have better synergy than the two ivorians mentioned. That is a fact.
If we wanna go individual. Akpoguma is just as good or could even be better than either Bailly or Boly in the here and now.
But you see, what the need having a good CB when he doesn't have a sound partner? We have a partnership that works and that is all that matters. Only in your world would any of our center backs be chosen ahead of either Boly or Baily. No go talk this thing outside oo make people no beat you scatter oo. |

charlesemeka85: same here man, I don't rate any of them one bit. I can settle with only balogun based on current form and can't wait for torunarigha to be cleared as rumored
Ajayi, ekong, omeruo and awaziem re just below average CBs.
I even prefer awaziem as a rb than in the cb position
Omeruo we have waited forever for him to improve but no signs of that happening
Ekong is mistake prone same as ajayi
My instincts tells me that Akpoguma may be better than ekong and ajayi if paired with balogun at the hrt of defence but as a rb which is not his natural position bobo na calamity
The Sheffield Wednesday lad is a good option as well but I am yet to watch the juve starlet play so I don't know how good he is If these are the guys we going to the world cup with, once again, then, expect nothing different from what we got the last time. Ekong, Omerou, Awziem and Ajayi should be warming the bench at best |

TheSuperNerd: The centre backs we have go still cage your in-laws' Haller Same defense wey dey chop goals left, right and centre? Have you seen Haller's stats since joining Ajax? Can you penetrate any of these CB partnership; CIV - Willy Boly and Eric Baily Senegel - Abdou Diallo and Kalidou Koulibaly By the way, did you know the worst defense of the AFCON Qualifiers was Nigeria's, both for the qualified teams, and the teams that couldn't make it? No defense shipped in more goals than Nigeria's |

Don't know how this is gonna come across, but I don't rate any of our centre backs. They all have huge deficiencies, albeit Balogun is slightly ahead of them all. I always wish we had Tomori to partner a player like Torunarigha, but right now I'm looking at Paul Chigozie Iweru of Juventus and Osazemwinde Uroghide of Sheffield Wednesday as possible CB options |

TheSuperNerd: Lol... You are not nice Charles. Lol... Onuachu is still a young man at 26 and having the best season of any African forward in very recent times. He could end up in a top 5 league club also.
SADIQ is 24 and a real baller tearing up La Liga Smartbank and is also heading to Sevilla all things considered.
And Simy... Well, 28 or so and doing it in the Serie A. No way he won't be making a move to a serie A side or any top 5 league side too. These "Iroko trees" are all worth the attention.
Daryl is good but he is doing it in the Championship. Being linked with the Big 6 clubs in England is good but you know how "links" stories can go. It can be realised or not. Also, we have a Moffi who is just as young and already doing it in Ligue 1, a top 5 league. Awoniyi was also on fire in Germany (Bundesliga) before his injury. We have an Ike Ugbo also doing it very good in Belgium.
So you see... It's not just the Iroko trees we have.
We can try to talk to the lad (Dike) but if his mind is made up already about his chances with the US (who lack truly top CF options compared to us) then there's nothing we can do and it won't be a big deal because we are well covered in that position. The Super Eagles No.9 position is brimming with quality and we boast strikers better and with much higher ceiling than Dike even now.
The end. I don't count Awoniyi as our options, to me, he is just another Anthony Ujah |

charlesemeka85: god bless you, a big striker who can bully CBs any day any time no be this irokos wey we dey produce of late wey no even get off the ball movement let alone balance
When i see real talent I know and I bet you this guy will explode in the epl if he makes the leap next summer. Imagine his stats after just joining Jan abi feb
The only striker that has such built that we can boast of is Moffi. I rate Sadiq because he has the Kanu flavor in his game not just only goal scoring while osimhen is a born hustler of the ball who fears no defender and has pace to burn If only you knew how much I love Mitchel Antonio and Daniel Amokachi. I like bulldozers as strikers, that was why I loved Emenike and Bright Dike. I liked Anichebe too but him and Ighalo be like dem cut dem from same cloth, so I withdrew my "like" |

It won't hurt if the nff reaches out to him before he gets cap tied by the US Omo that guy is bomb, and he still has age on his side. He is my kind of a point man, he is well built like his older brothers Emmanuel Emenike(cousin) and Bright Dike, and he is just as strong as the two. |

Also, with the crazy depth we have got in the CF position, where even the likes of Simy isn't yet sure of another look-in despite his wicked form, I think we will be missing nothing With Dike.
