I think we have the best combinations up front now, all what is needed is to make it less selfish, laced with more precision, then, watch the goals rain. However, ceteris paribus, I would rather Musa, than Simon as the first name of the bench, in subsequent matches. |

Please what's this yeye African football some folks keep giving as an excuse to sideline the foreign born players here? African football, yet the best Africa teams still struggle to beat third rated European Teams? My people, it is techniques over physicality.
The Aribo I saw AGAINST UKRAINE is exactly what our midfield needs. If he maintains or improves on his display against Ukraine, which was even his debut, then, Etebo would sit for him. Boy's transition from defense to attack trumps Etebo's, he passes better(goal oriented passes), and above all, he is a goal threat.
I envisage a midfield combo of Ndidi, Aribo and Iwobi in October. |

This team is looking good.
I will suggest a few changes, mainly on the bench:
1 - Get a worthy back up to Iwobi. Eze will be the prime target, while we also keep an eye on Onomah's game in the championship
2 - Bring in Azubike as a back up to Ndidi.
3 - Let Aribo and Etebo rumble for that CM shirt, whoever does better, should be starting while the other sits. Even on the bench, give Ejaria a chance to keep the previous two on their toes.
4 - In the defense, get Tomori, since Balogun has refused to play.
5 - Last but not the least, once Ebuehi is fit, or Ehizibue is secured, move Aina to the left. He does better there, more than the natural LB, Collins. Collins should be a back up to Aina in the LB |

TheGoodJoe: And you can not use height because it is not a quality in that respect.
What he lacks in power, meaning inside power, there are things he is lacking. Not the total absence of power.
Inside skills, there are things lacking. Not a total absence of skills.
Can we say inside height, there are things lacking? No. So Azubuike being short does not count.
We can talk of him lacking in winning aerial duels and make up with reading winning the second balls. Dont take this outta context. Skill could be collective in that sense, but power isn't, otherwise, what are the purported things inside power? If u had said "ability", that would have been more debatable bkus it varies. But in the context u used that word "power", u meant physical strength sir, I am eager to kno the said things inside power sir |

TheGoodJoe: My bro I have read and still not gotten what you are saying.
If I say what Zinchenko lacks in skills, he makes up with intelligent passes. Am I saying Zinchenko is not skillful? Or has zero skills?
It means Zinchenko is skillful but not perfect at it but uses passing to make up.
Same way with Osimhen lacks with power but makes up with hard work and runs. Not that he lacks power which charlesemeka85 thought I said. Yes bro, quote me anywhere, it means Zinchenko isn't skillful but gets bailed by his intelligence. That phrase "what he lacks in...", is a negative statement that gives the sense of the weakness of somebody/something. When u say "what Zinchenko lacks in skill, he makes up in intelligence", u are basically and emphatically saying that Zinchenko is rather intelligent than skillful. Not that he is a bit skillful and super intelligent, as u trynna imply This isn't worthy of an argument, just consult ur GST101, or better yet Google it. |

I saw him misplace about 4 and in some cases he gave needless passes(wrong choice of passes) that put the team under pressure. Above all, he was OK |

TheGoodJoe: I used the second term to clarify.
What he lacks in power, shows the power was there but lacked in some places in power play. Not the total absence of power but lacking in some area of power.
So he showed strength and power but lacked in power some areas. Thus, making up with pace and hardwork. If that be the case, then u clearly didn't understand the statement u made and what it implied. I dont want to be the one to teach u lexis and structures or how to use ur parts of speech in making phrases, we don't know it all, hence, we learn everyday. "what" in that statement functions as a pronoun, not adverb or interjection, it gives a direct meaning or message about the subject in question, that he does not have power as one his traits. In a nutshell, it defines lack of power as his major weakness. E.g is when people say "what Azubuike lacks in height" - this gives u a straight up definition of Azubuike as a short man. If u had opted for an interjection "when" which gives a sense of time of circumstance, then ur message would have carried a better meaning. "When his power fails him, he makes up with his speed" So my brother, there is no argument here, Emeka was right, all along |

Really surprised at afcon seeing Rohr axed Aina from starting line up for Collins.
The guy is too average. That boy is below average at best. He was the weak link all game and has always been, in all the matches he's played for the Eagles. A certain Stanley Amuzie wasn't this poor in his Ephemeral stay with the Eagles |

Uzoho needs to keep working hard, same goes to Alampasu who I hope can put his club travails behind him. Make the most of every opportunity that comes.

TheGoodJoe: What he lacks in power
Understand before rushing in to attack. I did not say Osimhen lacks power. There were times he lost the ball in some physical battles but made up with electrical runs to win it back.
He is far more mobile than Drogba. He looks a player that can comfortably play on the wings and utilise his pace. So where he was short in power, he made up with pace.
Understand? The two bolded have two different meanings bro. "What he lacks in power" simply implies he wasn't powerful. "where he was short in power" in other words "when found wanting", in that context, simply means he was powerful but whenever he SLIPS UP... Emeka was right, u should have used the second bolded in ur earlier post bkus it is what best suits ur narrative. |

safarigirl: over there, is where?
Maduka grew up in Europe, not South America. Mundo albiceleste is an Argentine website, is it not?
Aside Africa, tattoo impressions are also bad in Asia and South America, these areas have a similar ideology of life; same way these continents have similar perceptions of what family is about, and how they also happen to contain the majority of third world countries
These perceptions do not hold true in most of the Western world. Tattoos are lookes upon as a form of identity, each tattoo is believed to have a story attached to it. This is why, when a person has a tattoo, they are asked the inspiration. Your seriousness or otherwise is not attached to the body art you have, especially in certain careers like showbiz, entertainment etc. That is why a lot of European players are riddled with tattoos.
Please, let us be guided when we say "over there".....Maduka Okoye is not South American, and knows nothing of South American cultures or what they approve of. He grew up in a more liberal Germany, and in Germany, nobody really cares about a teenager getting tattoos. Be properly guided miss, there are certain fields in Europe, particularly Germany u can't get employed if u have visible tattoos on ur body, no matter what story the tattoo tells. So the notion that in Europe they don't read too deep into tattooed people's life holds no water. Yes, like u rightly said, showbiz, footballers et al might be an exception, but, not when the tattoo is linked with the Nazi or swastikas. |

Curtisaxel7: Na naija mentality dey affect you so. One can have tatoos and piercings and still be dedicated and hardworking.
Okoye was raised in Germany not in naija where dreadlocks and a pierced ear is enough evidence that one is a criminal. Learn to look beyond appearance in judging character. Serious youngsters care less about looks, during their formative years. Tattoo impressions isn't just an African thing, even over there, it doesn’t really portray someone as disciplined. Throughout last year, I was a regular at mundoalbicelesti, u needed to have seen how Argentine fans were complaining bitterly about their players' propensity to get tattoos which they deduced make them care more about looks, and less focused on the main business. Yes, that was just fans being fans. My point is, it's not just a mentality peculiar to Africans(Nigeria) |
