Not a striker but he scored more than a striker?

C Ronaldo not a striker but he has scored more than all the striker even zidane is playing him as a striker in a 442 formation

Is Messi a striker? But he as been playing as a striker this season with Suarez in a 442 formation

A team doesn't need a striker to get the goals okay

At Liverpool firminho is the top 9 and salah is getting the most goals

No b you dem dey call southgate abi Na komekn?

Anyway if one of you is southgate then the other one is Roy Hodgson, you guys are similar,I have been reading your comments you are only concerned about Yoruba players,if onyekuru is Yoruba you will not say this, striker or winger the guy is getting goals take it or leave it,even our Nigerian strikers in Belgium league can't even outscore him someone who has been out for some time.

Some pages back u said u observed people dump their debates midway with you. U give one flimsy excuse but now u just cleared some people's doubts. Look at the crap u wrote up there it's obvious u delved into this argument with the intention to war agent Forgiveness. It is obvious u are new here, please always know the cause of an argument before u jump into it, so that u don't look dumb.

He clearly stated that he ain't against him coming back but not as a striker and I was taunting him that onyekuru will come as a winger to overthrow his favorite wingers (Simon and Musa), out of no where, u jumped in and went berserk. Ogbeni abeg learn ur lesson maka next time.

I won't let u cause troubles here just because we seemed to be on the same side of an argument.

I have been tracking Ehizibue's development. IMHO, Rohr should cap him post Russia to increase our pool. He is one of the best right full backs in the Eredivisie.

I think we under rate Awaziem in this part of the world, perhaps because of one or two matches...the guy is damn good, versatile and times his tackles. He is even good with his head. He joins the attack when a corner happens.I would like him to continue for one season under Ranieri and learn more before proceeding to a bigger league
It's annoying how people under rate such a good prospect just because of a match he played straight outta sick bed.

Okay but you can see yobo joined Everton 2002 ?

So because Nantes lost some games it's because of awaziem? Maybe he is the only player in their team,he is not even their most important player, they even lost games with him before the injury, why don't you blame him for the games they lost with him before his injury

Awaziem is good and improving everyday but at this age I am not sure if he will even start at west brom

At this juncture bro, I say believe what u will. I'm done with the argument

Its 2002-2003 season he played, here is proof for you below

Awaziem injury did not make them slump,he is back even before his injury na 1 game on 1 game off, ranieri dey rotate am with 1 defender there,he did not start their last 2 or 3 games, someone was injured in their last game before he was subbed in.

Bros shebi you see am there abi? Joining everton on loan july 2002 and he was 20 then self he birthday was even september
What was Nantes's position when Awaziem was playing nonstop before his injury? Nantes's form dipped when Awaziem was sidelined. At present, he's in and outta the team because he's still regaining his match fitness and he's not yet 100% as was the case before his long lay off.

How is nantes 5th on french? Nantes is in 9th and everton has always been a better club than nantes, epl a better league than french league

Yobo joined everton on loan after tenerife loan before everton made the deal permanent,it was 16 years ago which is 2002 and yobo is 37 years old now so calculate it,he was 21 years then
Nantes was in the 5th position before Awaziem's injury that made them slump. That's to tell you how important he is to the team. More like the defense was/is built round him.

Yobo went to Everton on loan in the year 2003 oga

Yobo better than awaziem when at the age,Yobo joined everton at 21 and was a regular till 2012 when he left for turkey, everton was among the top 5-6 teams in england there was a season everton even came 4th,Awaziem is not bad but i dont think he will make it to most of the EPL team defence at his age

And mind you yobo is one of the few players to play 38 premier league game a season with no minute subbed out, started all games.

Yobo started as a DM ? not at standard leige self, dat one go be for academy, the other position joseph yobo played was right back all these record are there for us all to see

Awaziem doesnt even start all games at nantes, thou he has much playing time, his playing time is like 2 games on 2 games off just like nepa,go and check the stats.
At 23 yobo went on loan to Everton from Tenerife, a move he later made permanent. At 19 Awaziem was already a starter for former European champions FC PORTO. At 20, Awaziem was a starter for Nantes on loan from Porto. Mind u, Nantes is 5th in the French league and contesting for a place in the Europa league. My boy ain't over rated and Omeruo and Ekong have nothing on him. He is making giant strides and we are proud of how far he's come.

Yobo started out as a DM and as a right back before becoming a CB . He was no defense general at Awaziem's age. Omeruo thrived well at a young age.

Awaziem has shown how good he is, in several league games this year.

Only 3 caps. One bad, one average, one good. I suspect he might thrive better if made to play RB or LB before taking up the CB role permanently.
You are a good man. Always honest.

I have been on his matter since last year when he left for Belgium. He is a genuine talent.

BELGIAN MEDIA, LOKEREN COACH HAIL EXCITING DÉBUTANTE YUSUF LAWAL

on: April 17, 2018

Highly talented Nigerian youngster Yusuf Lawal is enjoying positive reviews for his exciting debut for modest Belgian side Lokeren in their in their 3- 0 demolition of Henry Onyekurus former side KAS Eugene.

The talented Nigerian was impressive in the 75 minutes he was on the pitch and was a potent attacking option for Lokeren troubling the Eupen defence on end with his direct style skill and pace earning plaudits from his coach Peter Maes and the Belgian media

Respected Belgian site voetbalkrant described him as a young exciting extra attacking weapon acquired by Lokeren to boost their attack highlighting his fast, dribbling down the flanks

“That first match is not easy, but I have been able to show my strength” An obviously satisfied Lawal said after the game

“Speed and dribbles are the cornerstones of my game, which I want to show more of, hopefully in the upcoming matches,”
Lokeren manager Peter Maes also sees talent in Lawal and has spoken on the impact made on by the young Nigerian on his debut.

“His first half was very good, especially for a debut, and in the second half you saw him sink in, as is often the case with those young guests.”

“The biggest point of work I’ve seen is that he has to walk more often and the running action has to do without the ball”
“ There is still a lot of work to be done, but it is certainly a talent”

The 20 year old joined fondly nicknamed Obagoal Joined Lokeren in a three year deal from popular Nigerian football academy 36 Lions last season

A boy with a good orientation unlike the Isaac Success of this world

Sensational Hilary Gong has told SCORENigeria he hopes to play in the top leagues of England or Spain after yet another eye-catching display in Slovakia.

AS Trencin winger Gong fired two goals past Slovan Bratislava at the Stadion Pasienky on Saturday to lead his team to a win away from home.

Gong’s goals in the 15th and 93rd minutes gave him his second brace in the last three matches.

The 19-year-old Golden Boot Soccer Academy graduate has been the revelation of the 2017/2018 Slovakia football season with his 10 goals and 10 assists in all competitions so far.

He told SCORENigeria: “It has been an incredible season for me in what is my first full season in Europe.

“God has been faithful to me and I am convinced that with more hard work I will still achieve far more.

“My goal is to play in some of the biggest leagues like England and Spain, so I can’t rest on my laurel else I would not reach those heights because only the very best get the chance to play at that level.”

Liverpool's Adam Lallana continues injury rehabilitation in Cape Town

Adam Lallana has travelled to South Africa to continue his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury.

Lallana is in Cape Town, where he is undergoing further treatment on the hamstring he injured during Liverpool's win at Crystal Palace last month.

Liverpool are still hoping the midfielder can return before the end of the season as the 29-year-old eyes a place in England's World Cup squad.

"It will be close," manager Jurgen Klopp said last week of Lallana's fitness. "He can come back again, no rush [because] it makes no sense, but if Adam is available then we will see. I don't want to close the door for the season. How can I?"

Lallana's season has been blighted by injuries that have limited him to just one start in the Premier League.

He had to wait until November to make his first appearance after picking up a thigh injury in the preseason.

Come on. Yobo was doing well in Belgium before earning a move to Everton where he replaced a club legend. Heading to the 2002 world cup, he was our go to man with an ageing Taribo just getting by. Omeruo on his part was on loan to Ado Den hag from Chelsea, where he was the standout right back in his time at Hague. We know how well he played for the national team during this period.

My point is that Awaziem have yet to show he is as good as his fans claim.
Belgium and Holland u said bro. Awaziem is replicating and doing even better in a superior league.

To ur last paragraph, he's shown it and still doing at the club level but at the National team level, I say give him time like we did his predecessors. He will come good

Emphasis is on performance. So far, he hasn't shown enough to prove his doubters wrong, at least in the Super Eagles. Yobo and even Omeruo were pretty much established defense generals in the national team at the same age as Awaziem.
That doesn't make him over rated. Where were those guys at the club level when they were his age?

Give him time because Ekong was even worse when he first came to the SE. You can say the boy would do better with time(in the future), not that he is over rated.

Porto Frustrates Efforts By Ranieri To Sign Chidozie Awaziem Permanently For Nantes

Chidozie Awaziem is set for a return to Portuguese side FC Porto in the summer after the conclusion of his loan deal at French Ligue 1 side Nantes at the end of the season, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Nantes are eager to sign the 20 year old on a permanent deal in the summer after his impressive display so far for coach Claudio Ranieri men, and his performance made them approach Porto for a permanent deal in the summer but a deal is far from conclusion.

Porto are insisting on his buy out clause of 20 million euros. A sum agreed on his deal when he signed fresh terms for a five year deal three years ago following his breakthrough at the club 18 months after his move from Geelec Academy in Nigeria.

” It’s still the same as before concerning Awaziem. Porto are demanding the full release clause contained in his contract before his move to Nantes can be made permanent. The price is on a high side for the Ligue 1 side , so he will return to Porto at the end of the season “, Awaziem ‘s Nigerian intermediary Babawo Mohammed told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Gent Signs Replacement For Newcastle United Target Moses Simon

Belgium top division side Gent have already concluded plans to make up for the almost certain departure of their Nigerian forward Moses Simon in the summer.

Simon is a target of several English Premier League clubs with Newcastle United largely believed to be the front runners for his signature despite interest from fellow Premier League sides Brighton and Burnley.

Gent are resigned to losing the Nigerian forward in the summer, where he is expected to feature for Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia, but interested teams are likely to conclude any potential transfer for him before the World Cup for fear of his price going up after the World Cup.
Already Gent have cleared the way for his summer exit by signing a forward from fellow Belgium side Royal Antwerp according to a source close to the former AS Trencin teen wonder.

” Simon is sure to leave Gent this summer. A replacement has been signed by Gent already. A forward from Antwerp will join them in the summer, if my memory serves me right . I think he is of Congolese descent”, he concluded

Leon Balogun Post Man Of The Match Performance In Bundesliga Game Marred

By Bizzare VAR Decision

Mainz 05 eased their relegation worries with a 2-0 win over fellow relegation candidates Freiburg in a Monday night Bundesliga game which saw a weird decision taken by the referee after reviews by the Video Assistant Referee ( VAR).

Referee Guido Winkman sounded his whistle for the half time break, but had to call the players back from the dressing room for a penalty in favour of Mainz 05 after using the VAR to review a handball incident in the box of Freiburg shortly before both teams went into the dressing room for the half time break.

Mainz midfielder Pablo de Blasis scored the penalty to put the hosts 1-0 before both teams were sent back into the dressing room for the half time break. The decision to award a spot kick to Mainz 05 after both teams have left the pitch for half time sparked a whole lot of debate across various social media platforms.

On the pitch Nigeria international defender Leon Balogun once again proved his worth with another commanding performance at the back for Mainz 05. A performance which earned him the best ratings among defenders of Mainz 05 who played in the game.

Onyekuru Hails Everton, Anderlecht For His Recovery From Long-Term Injury
 0 April 17, 2018 12:42 pm

By Ayomide Osipeju:

Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru has shown appreciation to all those who helped in his recovery from a long-term injury, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The 20-year-old injured his knee late into Anderlecht’s 1-0 win over his former club Eupen in a Belgian First Division A fixture in December and Anderlecht confirmed he would undergo surgery and be out for several months.

The Super Eagles forward had to return to his parent club Everton in England for rehabilitation but has resumed full training with Anderlecht, where he is on a season-long loan.

“I want to say thank you to everyone that made my recovery possible. The medical team, staff and doctors @Everton for their rehab and facilities. I also want to thank @rscanderlecht and the amazing supporters for their support and their faith in me during this journey ,” Onyekuru tweeted on Tuesday with a picture of himself attempting an acrobatic kick in Anderlecht’s training gear.

After resuming full training with Anderletch five months after sustaining the knee injury, Onyekuru is expected to soon return to match action.Onyekuru joined Everton from Eupen at the beginning of the season but was immediately loaned out to Anderlecht where he overcame a slow start to hit good form.

The youngster scored nine goals in 19 league appearances and 10 goals in 28 games in all competitions despite playing mostly as a wide forward before he got injured.
