Dude better go search for three lions thread rather than bugging and imposing his UK whatever here on us We all should learn to ignore him because reading, quoting and replying his posts amount to fanning the embers of his cockeyed posts here. Dude is hardly ever positive about our team. Sometimes I doubt he is a Nigerian. He claims to know it all yet he doesn't know nothing about the team yet he keeps criticizing the players destructively. This guy could be a breda posing as a bogus Nigerian. |

BascoVanVeli: Avoidable? Somebody is about to enter your box and u think it is ok to just let him in and hope that your fellow defender helps. What if he helps and the ball is passed to his man who is then open? Like I said football is not ballroom dancing, u have to make contact at times. It is a shame that, that guy that is about to enter ur box was a meter or two behind you when u guys started chasing down that ball. If u had done ur homework well, would he(the Pole) have overtaken you for u to foul him? He overtook you and u played into his hands and u expecting a kudos. This is my point if u don't get it, plz let's end it here |

BascoVanVeli: but I clearly was talking about the foul. U guys should stop acting like players must be perfect, in a game u are bound to get beat to a ball or two. If he had got a yellow it would have been a good yellow to get because it stopped a goal scoring opportunity. Even an avoidable yellow? Ogbeni if he had done his homework, there wouldn't have been any need for the foul. Don't u get it? |

BascoVanVeli: I tell u what, I loved Shehu's outside the box foul. I remember last season's el clasico when Messi removed his shirt, Ronaldo shouted "You should have fouled him." This is what Nigerian football misses at times, normally the defender would just watch like a deer in headlight. Also I have noticed that teams believe they can 'punk' us with hard fouls. Poland would have stopped fouling if they noticed that we were going to take it out on Lewandowski. I think he only got fouled one time and that is just pitiful. We need to start kicking people I mean not to injure them but to let them know that this is a fight. U were happy he committed the foul? Why didn't u also acknowledge that he was on the front foot when that ball came in? And how a player who was a meter or too behind him, out paced him to the ball and he resorted to fouling. In a competitive match, that would be yellow. |

No team wins a trophy in a tournament playing beautiful football throughout the tourney. Great teams are known for their ability to squeeze out results even in the most difficult of times. It doesn't matter if u won dirty, just like France did against us in Brazil. We were resolute and patient for our chance(s) yesterday and when it did come, we took it. The making of trophy winning teams. |

I give credit to our defense and goalkeeper. The defense are proving to be too stingy to opposing strikers, hence nothing goes pass them and the few that meandered were dealt with by Uzo. Kudos to our boys |

Some people argue that Poland created plenty and better chances, but at the same time, same people say Uzoho wasn't tested enough. So my question is, if Uzoho didn't deal with with the chances created by the Poles where then did the chances go? Abi him dealing with the super created chances of the Poles no be passing a test? |

I have always said it, Musa and Simon are no cerebral players. Nice runs from Musa yesterday but he can never give that final pass wisely. Just see how he wasted that counter initiated by Onazi because he ran without his brains hence running past the ball and running himself into an offside position. Dude is whack and annoying |

Mujtahida: Ebuehi is more intelligent than him. Just by mere positioning he sniffs out danger. The boy plays with instincts. Even though he's not fully fit he still gave a good account of himself. I'm just happy u guys are now seeing what I saw and have been lamenting on. Shehu was so poor yesterday. He lacks pace, I was infuriated when he brought down a defender to concede a free kick. Dat defender was a meter behind Shehu when they set out for the tussle, but how the guy overtook Shehu forcing Shehu to foul him was embarrassing. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by ChrisKels: 9:59am On Mar 24, 2018 |
ChrisKels: I love Shehu as much as I love his peers but has he really given us what we want at the right back?
Shehu is a makeshift right back though people confuse this with being versatile. Shehu is good and I want to see him in Russia but there still exists rooms for improvement.
In our DM Shehu does not stand any chance and the fact that he plays as a DM for his club ain't helping matter also.
Now if u want to take Shehu because he is a utility player, there are two positions to study with keen interest ; the DM and the RB.
at the DM, Ndidi, Etebo, Ogu, Onazi even Agu are all ahead of him, hence he has to concentrate on the the RB.
Now at RB, I will personally select Ebuehi as the RWB when I deploy a 3man defence. He is better suited than the other contenders. He has been doing it consistently on the club level and he just showed us a tip of it the last tine the had his back against the wall.
Shehu will come good in a 4man defense (433) but will he do a better job than Aina? Both players are good passers, agile players and almost equal pace wise. I don't rate English bred players but ever since started following the progress of these two players I av come to realize that Aina is more cerebral. The primary assignment of a RB is to defend, then create an impact in the attack. Shehu's defending ability was slightly better than that of, if not on par with Aina's but the Aina I saw lately has improved immensely on that with the WC on sight. Now going forward, the less said, the better. Aina edges Shehu here because he crosses better and times his runs better. Though these things don't make Shehu terrible, I believe Aina is slightly better.
Now why did I say his WC dream depends on Echiejile? Though it's still kinda premature. If Idowu repeats what he showed against Argentina, then it will be so insane to leave him out. With Elderson and Idowu, the left back is occupied but I would rather Elderson got dropped to make Aina a backup to Idowu hence creating a space at the RB for Shehu.

Dad Reveals Chelsea Defender Tomori Will Represent Nigeria Soon
Published: March 23, 2018 Osun State Deputy Governor, Mrs Titi Laoye-Tomori, has revealed that her nephew Fikayo Tomori is set to commit his international future at senior level to Nigeria.
Born in Calgary, Canada twenty years ago to Nigerian parents, the Chelsea defender can also suit up for the Super Eagles as well as the Canadian national team.
He was one of the stars of the England U20 team that lifted the Fifa U20 World Cup for the first time in their history last summer in South Korea, and has been promoted to the U21s, earning three caps for the age group this season.
''It would be my dream to see him play for the Super Eagles someday. We are so proud of him, so also is his parents,'' Titi Laoye-Tomori told saharareporterssport.com.
''He is a true professional and also very humble. He works so hard for his team and no wonder he has won so much at such young age.
''I was with his dad recently and we spoke a lot about his chances of coming to play for Nigeria soon. Right now, he is focusing on his club career and we hope he will come represent his fatherland soon.''
Tomori has been named in the latest England U21 squad for their friendly against Romania (March 24) and the European U21 Championship qualifier against Ukraine (March 27). |

herroyalcutenes: The super eagles definitely need/deserve better scouting what are Elderson, Omeruo, Stephen Eze, doing in a friendly 2 months to the world cup?
In a country with a population of over 170million. Is that the best we can offer? What a shame? Kelechi and Iwobi should have started from the bench. This is the time to invite and test more players did nigerian's know Ebuehi or Idowu were good enough unit they were invited and tested.
One would expect Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis (WF, CF),Cyriel Dessers (WF , CF) , Derik Osede (DC), K.Otigba (DC), Fanendo Adi (CF, ST), Azubuike Okechukwu (AM, MC), Sunday Stephen (DM, MC) (whom benched iniesta at spain U19, U20, U21), Ryan Sanusi and of course the (king) Simon Kalu (AM, WF).
Thank God Mikel Agu was not invited his intercepts are so low and man marking so poor, for a centeral or defending midfilder. Rohr wants to play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, but he has never invited a center forward (CF). If he takes this squad to the world cup Nigeria would be disgraced.
If Olarenwaju Kayode was continually called up to the Super Eagles without having a single shot on target then Fanendo Adi (Adi was signed permanently by the Portland Timbers on 23 June 2014. Where he became the club's fourth ever Designated Player) (Google Designated Player if you do not know the meaning) would do better.
Even Anthony Nwakeme would do better, if given more call-ups, He is so good at the Europa League.
Or is it Ighalo that would lead Nigeria to the Quarterfinal? Impossible.
Remember in 2014 Nigeria was the lowest scoring team in qualifying, and scoring was a big problem at the world cup. That is likely to repeat itself.
The midfield and the attack (NO.9) are Super Eagle's weakest links. Is dat all you've got? |

Ebuehi to be dropped instead of Aina who hasn't played on the right back position even for once, for the Eagles? This is funny |

tbaba1234: He said earlier "his father did not want him to play for Nigeria". That is a different statement from the one above. The one above is more of a direct commitment to Germany by the man not a man saying what his father told him.
The way, the whole Tammy affair played out turned out to be disrespectful. That is the main reason, he gets stick. Talking about red carpets and all. A simple respectful statement would have sufficed.
Perspectives, I am not convinced Iorfa is better than him. Spare him those explanations. Dude is fond of turning a blind eye whenever the truth is staring at him. Every naija fan would welcome Torunarigha with open heart if his sojourn with Germany turns sour than they would Tammy. We all know the reason.
