Odunayaw: Wonderful.
I was just reminiscing on the names they called me based on "Odun"
I'm almost in shock that Odunze is actually a real name Odunze is a real name, in fact, it is an Igbo surname popular with people from Imo State, especially, Orlu |

With the way Ndidi is going with injuries and the unreliability of his so called back ups, I think we should consider this bullish Crystal Palace young CDM called David Ozoh since he is leaning towards us, and he also hasn't been capped by England at any level.

It is about time we brought back Akpoguma to try a combo of him and Bassey in that CB, then we should reconsider Torunarigha now that he has moved to Belgium, as back up to both Bassey and Zaidu |

TheSuperNerd: Nna, by the way... That Christy Ucheibe lass is everything a midfielder should be in modern day football both for men and women.
Highly cerebral, Powerful, pacy, quick feet, high workrate, eye for the linesbreaking pass, defensively sound, offensively threatening and more. What a player.
I cried out her name after that loss to SA. I knew Randy was drunk on cheap strong rum benching a midfielder that practically bossed a midfield against the Reigning Olympic Champs, Canada in April earlier this year.
Honestly, it's wonderful finally seeing her proving us right. 21 yrs old and already our best Central Midfielder heading to the 2023 Women's World Cup.
Indeed, your Village/home town is blessed. Something to be indeed proud of. That is how we run the show in the field of play bro. The talent is innate and we are passionate about the game. #Isuikwuato |

TheSuperNerd: Chill Chris... Chill. Bassey so far have handled the pressures of big stage games in Europe and for a historic side like Rangers of Scotland. On his Super Eagles debut, he also didn't cower. I trust this is a kid who can handle most, if not all, of what is thrown at him.
Also, LCB is the role he will be given if the Ajax deal pulls through. That is where Lisandro Martinez played for the majority of last season and with him joining Man Utd, Bassey is seen as his natural replacement.
Bassey interprets the LCB role effortlessly. Has the confidence and technical abilities to keep making a name for himself in the role alongside his alternate LB and LWB roles.
Mind you, Ajax is not the only club interested. Brighton have also made contact but Ajax's coach have held discussions with the lad already.
Show some trust in Calvin Bassey Ughelumba. He is going to the top. I wish him the very best |

zuchyblink: are you from Isuikwuato? Nwannekwu m, ndewo!!!! We(the Isuikwuatos) are still mourning the death of our brother Noel Chukwuemeka Okorougo(a.k.a Ugomba), the man who revolutionised Nigerian football with his exploits in football marketing and financing. Remember he marketed Nigeria to Nike who signed a huge contract as Nigeria’s kit sponsors. The Nigeria Football Association then earned huge money from the contract. Supply of kits was tremendous and all Nigerian teams appeared in dazzling and flying colours in their matches especially at the Atlanta Olympic Games where the soccer team won gold. |

TheSuperNerd: Opta Stats check: Calvin Bassey
@Opta Johan, Stats Perform's Official Stats football coverage for Dutch Football is already on the Bassey Train reeling off the stats on the kid. The question remains, "does he have the prerequisites to thrive in such a high demanding club at this stage of his career"? I would rather he stayed where playing opportunities are assured than to a club that could stunt his growth due to lack of opportunities. |

This boy, Malcom Ebiowei has turned down Manchester United in favour of Crystal Palace. In fact, he is inches away from sealing his Palace deal.
Funnily, once this deal is rapped and he gets to play for Palace in the EPL, he might forget he once trained with the golden Eaglets. I don't trust these Anglo Nigerians.

PetroDolla2020: What is “so good” about those grandkids from Burkina Faso? Oh Africa! I had goose pimples seeing those cheats calling these selves under 17.
I understand the Nigerian players in the Under 17 team play in the Nigerian premier league. If this is true, then it is unfortunate! Very unfortunate indeed!
I will be happy to see my country use players who are truly under 17 and lose, than use over aged players just because they want to win and be seen as “champion” which nonsense champion is that? All these tears because you have been found out? Since the invention of the MRI machine, have you noticed that Ghana youth system has amounted to nothing? Can you name any set of your youth team that failed due to fielding young players and still managed to produce quality players? MRI killed Ghana and elevated Nigeria because you guys can no longer cheat by fielding Grandpas. The few times we failed to qualify, we got qualities like Alhassan, Ishaq, et al. When we did qualify, we got the Nachos, Osigoals, Chuks et al of this world. Finally, no we don't parade league players at the U17 level, at least since the invention of the MRI, and we have been reaping the rewards by churning out young quality stars unlike Ghana. |
