Like Charles said Adriano shot be like nuclear strike.

Plus Adriano had decent pace too.

mrwilliams9:

Disagree. Both had great size and skill on the ball. If Boniface gets more clinical, they’ll be more similar.

Adriano! one of footballs great what ifs. You're spot on when you say he was very similar to R9. Pity depression took its toll on a very promising career.

I think Boniface is too unique in his skill set to pigeonhole that he is a this or that. If Boni had Osimhen mad focus and ginger it would have been all over for the football world.

charlesemeka85:
bros they are not similar in any way

Adriano was too complete. In his prime he was the closest thing to R9. Bobo was unplayable with shooting power that can be compared to that of few

No disrespect to Boniface but no try compare him to Adriano unless u no watch the Brazilian during his prime

I haven't watched Fisayo for an extended period of time to properly assess him but 1 goal in 4 international games is very decent. From what I have seen a bit of and observed from people's comments he's a very forward looking midfielder who seems to be adding a fresh dimension to the SE attack.

We currently don't have a very obviously creative AM so I don't think we have those 'worthy options' you speak of. Iwobi for all his industry na manage we just dey manage am.

Meliforme:

We have midfielders who have more to give us than we have in Fisayo.
I mentioned his fallings and gave more worthy options.

Goal participation or involvement implies that you are either the goalscorer or that you assisted the goal.
One can create a goalscoring chance without having the goal converted, in that case the player is accorded to having created a goal scoring chance or made a key pass even though the goal wasn't converted.

Ejuke has zero goal participation because none of the goalscoring chances he created was converted.

I slightly agree about KC he hasn't really started the season on fire. Disagree about dropping Boni and Awo because both of them are our only decent top 9 options for now after Osimhen. Moffi should have been in contention if not for his potential season ending injury.

Yusuf's place might be jeopardy if those our two young players in Getafe and Lens continue to improve steadily.

If AFCON qualification is wrapped up early then I wouldn't mind seeing Ebenezer and the young lad in Everton (if he's so inclined) being invited for the last fixtures.

Ejuke definitely deserves a recall.

Kog45:
Ha you want Ejuke dropped for Chuckwueze?you dey find Oga Meli trouble….Oga Meli triple are Nwakali,Ejuke and Chuckwueze just that Nwakali dey fall Meli hand o……honestly Ejuke deserves call up and there is no need dropping Chuckwueze……I think Iheanacho or Boniface/Awoniyi should pave way for Ejuke.

The boys played well can't honestly fault them. Only thing I will be nitpicky about was the free header we allowed them in the first few minutes other than that were it another day could have been a dominant 2-0/3-0 result.

Can't also blame the players too much for not converting their chances the Rwandan keeper was solid and in form.

The ref denied us a probable win with his dodgy officiating. The tackle on Boniface before halftime in the box should have been a pen.

All told good international window. Top of our group, 4 points, and clean sheet.

AE should continue for now then the NFF revaluate after AFCON qualifiers.

Sometimes good managers are made by excellent/quality assistants. AE I believe understands his strengths and weaknesses which I believe his assistants will help him cover.

To Eguavoen's credit I think he has the respect and trust of his players so he just has to improve more on his in-match reading of the game especially when plan B doesn't work out.

daveP:
exactly. IMO I'll admit the influence of the assistants in a way. We are in the age where quality assistants that are tactically sound is the template but nff...

I agree to with you on the bold.

Looks like someone who will make a solid manager.

Plus the way he acts and talks like a national team captain just dey swell my head with pride.

Mujtahida:

You are not in leadership of our football but you can reason something as basic as this. One day Ekong will retire. Fiam the place will be empty not because someone will not be there to play as CB but the calmness, the organization, the sense and awareness may not be there unless that person has been groomed to take up that role.

I'm looking forward to Ekong being a coach. He has it in him.

I hope Fredrick at Bretford can get good run of games. He's another I see as a potential defensive stalwart for the SE.

We have a loaded attack to be too reliant on Oshimen. I loved that osihmen started from the bench in this game.

And point of correction osihmen is not overrated if he didn’t score the game would have ended 1-0

I criticize Osimhen when he makes mistakes but now is not the time to pour acid on a sore wound. Young deserves absolute support during this tough time because whether you like it or not our own is our own.

I honestly thought Victor's performances and commitment to the Napoli colours would have earned him at least a window of reconciliation but the club management has thought otherwise which is their prerogative.

Even if one agrees without conceding that Osimhen's attitude or ego caused this he has not behaved half as bad many players who did worse and where still respected.

Rooney who outrightly handed in a transfer request was a rewarded with a new contract at Man U. Sancho whose case we all know about was rewarded with a loan spell at top German side Dortmund and is now with Chelsea.

Should just keep his head down and do his talking on the pitch. A hattrick against Benin on Saturday will be what the doctor just ordered.

TheSuperNerd:
Amd Double share. Bankygee like Lovewins has dropped fantastic truth takes on the Osimhen Saga. Lovewins from the "actual facts" angle and BankyGee from the "mentality" angle taking us into Osimhen's mental profile as an athlete.

It is a pity that only few here take the time to study and understand the mental profiles of players. It is as important or even more important than their talent profile.

Well done to BankyGee and Lovewins. They are shining lights in these Osimhen Saga discussions. Excellent contributors.

Double like!!!

BankyGee:
kellycute na only you and few others understand wetin dey go on here. Osimhen knows his worth, even just the fact that Chelsea mentioned loan + obligation to buy, people wey lack knowledge don dey mock say African Best dey go on loan to Chelsea.

Osimhen is a hard worker, has a very strong mentality. This is not the first time he'll not be playing football for months (he even has national team matches this time), when he had his head injury, he was out for almost a year, he came back stronger and better! The most interesting thing is that he still scores most goals with that same head! Someone that has 18 metal screws and 6 wooden plaques fitted into his head, PTSD see Osimhen, PTSD run! A lot of players will dwindle in performance after an injury as big as that!
With a mask his outscored every single African to ever play in the Serie A, broke records and set new ones!

Osimhen is a humble person with hot temper that doesn't even surface till he's being pushed till the extreme end, he can also be positively stubborn, he won't settle for less! That's why he neither chose Saudi nor €155k/week. He knows himself, he knows what he wants.

Osimhen is not Højlund or Jackson that you'll force to take a salary inferior to his ability. If he collect am una go talk, as he no collect am una still dey talk.

I've read a lot about Osimhen, studied Osimhen and watched every single video on YouTube about him that I always feel like I know what's going through his head. Y'all should just wait and see how he scales this hurdle. I can tell y'all he's not as bothered as y'all are, una just wan type for typing sakes.

Lastly and most importantly, Osimhen did not go through those hard times at Wolfsburg, defeating a potential career ending injury at Napoli, becoming a world-class striker against all odds, just to come and take a paycut for a Chelsea that don't even know their standing as of today.

If that injury didn't end his career, na 4 months of not playing football wan end am? 😂 We'll all be there by God's grace.

Maka just continue dey ignore some comments dey go.

Hmmm I get the angle you're coming from and I know Oma can be unnecessarily brash/loud but I think he's a too professional to be spreading obvious lamba.

For what it's worth I believe Oma has a genuine source who passed that update on Osimhen's transfer to him whether it's true the next few hours will tell.

lovewins:

Oma has fallen out of favour with Victor, and they aren't as close as they used to be. He once had an interview that almost put Victor in trouble in Italy and that's what I believe led to Victor giving him some space.

The above information is also wrong. Victor never requested for 500k and Chelsea never offered 350k. That could change I'm the coming hours but Oma or his source are lying.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by chrisooblog: 3:02pm On Aug 29
According to Oma Akatugba Osimhen has agreed to collect 350k Euros per week from Chelsea but no indication of any set deal yet.

The Saudi offer is indeed mouth watering but glory to God Victor is already making enough life changing money that him and his descendants to the fourth generation will be comfortable.

lovewins:

The Saudis are apparently offering him generation changing money. He's reportedly being offered over N300B+ yearly and they are open to increasing should he agree. That amount is at the very least worth given consideration even if he won't take it.
