Well CAF named him into the team of the tournament so your opinion is mute.

Dancer scored goals show us 1 goal carry along scored across 25 plus games in AFCON tournaments over 11 years.

It's not my fault carry along was unproductive for 6 AFCONs.

raumdeuter:
Iwobis uncle delivered what? We know those who delivered Yekini Amokachi Oliseh Uche dem not carry along Okocha who was subbed out in the Tunisia 94 final when things got tough and we couldn't accommodate a dancer
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 8:07am On Jan 20
Delivered underage title like Nduka Ugbade, Chrisantus Macaulay, Iheanacho and co.

If Osaze Odemwingwe had won Olympic gold in 2008 you would have also called him one of our greatest ever based on your logic.

raumdeuter:
Delivered the gold medal, Our biggest trophy. Africa's first Olympic gold in soccer
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 8:01am On Jan 20
JayJay delivered a senior national team title.

We leave underage triumphs for players like your carry along exponent.

raumdeuter:
Is the medal Chrisantus got for us the biggest we ever won in football?

BTW Kanu again delivered U17 for Nigeria not Iwobis uncle
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 7:58am On Jan 20
If you like ask Skynet whatever, Carry Long didn't do jack at senior national team level.

Same way Messi wasn't universally regarded as the GOAT until he won the WC.

raumdeuter:
Ask any AI to show you a picture of Nigerias biggest football moment in History and see the consensus

There must must always be Atlanta 96 with the picture of Kanu

chrisooblog try am and share evidence maybe anyone will mention Iwobis uncle in the top 10 options you would be given
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 4:13pm On Jan 19
Same way Chrisantus Macaulay bested Toni Kroos in an underage competition which you don't rate.

raumdeuter:
Our biggest achievement in football. Featuring Dida, Carlos, Rivaldo Bebeto and the great R9
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 4:11pm On Jan 19
Delivered failure you mean.

raumdeuter:
Kanu didnt give excuses of would have, should have

He didnt tell us we would have beaten Brazil is Iwobis uncle scored the penalty, He took it upon himself and delvered
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 3:32pm On Jan 19
We would have won 2000 AFCON but guess who spoilt it.

We would have been talking of at least 5 AFCONS by now if carry along had been useful.

raumdeuter:
Did we win any of these?

Atlanta 96 vs the best players in the world Okocha mised a penalty, But Kanu didnt give excuses he carrid the whole team on his back and scored 2 brilliant goals winning us the game and the Olympic medal
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 3:28pm On Jan 19
Delivering in underage tournament which you yourself don't rate you mean.

raumdeuter:
This is Kanu being lifted after delivering a medal for his country show the equivalent of Iwobis uncle
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 3:25pm On Jan 19
1998 WC Denmark was beating us black and blue leading 2-0. Okocha gave carry along a through pass to get us back in the game he of course fluffed his lines spoiling a potential fightback.

2000 AFCON spectacular equalizer that got us in the game. Still stood up like a man to dispatch his penalty during the shootout while carry along was wetting the national stadium pitch with his useless tears.

2004 AFCON Again Okocha scored against Cameroon leading the fight back in the quarterfinals carry along was barren in front of goal as usual.

raumdeuter:
Which competition or even game that was going the wrong way did JayJay drag the team on his back to win? Beyond the useless dribbles
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 11:45am On Jan 19
Sorry I can't stan a carry along player who missed a crucial penalty against our fiercest rivals in front of our home fans.

Who couldn't score a single goal in 6 AFCON.

Unlike men like JayJay who was part of the team that won the 1994 AFCON. Whose performances earned him a place in the team of the tournament.

Okocha tried to help carry along's career by scoring that spectacular equalizer against Cameroon in the 2000 AFCON finals getting us back into the game but carry along disappeared as usual only resurfacing to cause his fellow citizens anguish with that penalty miss.

Go figure it was only after he left the team with his unproductive output that we then won AFCON again in 2013.

raumdeuter:
That is why I will always stan people like Oliseh and Kanu

Vs Senegal. Oliseh had malaria on the bench. He saw us losing and asked to be subbed in

He delivered an assist to Aghahowa

At Atlanta 96 vs Brazil where we met a superior opponent. We were down vs Brazil 3-1. We got a penalty Iwobis uncle missed it. Then came our King. Papilo Kanu Nwankwo. Who refused to be defeated and dragged us with 2 goals to win

Nowadays we have superstars hiding from penalty shootout

Shame shame shame

Morocco really have themselves to blame for how the tournament turned out in the end for them.

Good team with great players yet resorting to under hand tactics to win games especially in the knockout rounds.

Fantastic facilities and infrastructure yet relying on CAF bias to win.

Unfortunately, despite all the investment made in this competition it won't be fondly remembered as a great festival of African football.

Senegal are worthy winners showed grit and determination when it counted most.

Nigeria still lacks that killer instinct teams like CIV, Senegal, Cameroon show when the chips are down.

Bro!

So far Benjamin is 100% fit he walks straight into the SE starting XI.

Like I said months back I haven't seen a defender so comfortable on the ball the way he is. Pesin wey tackle win ball still carry go front get presence of mind give assist? Omo how I go say he no dey assured?

Not taking anything away from Ajayi. He was immense in this tournament never at fault for the goals we conceded plus was never shaky. He looks like a good dependable back up to have for at least 2-3 years in case of injuries to the B-Square (copyright BankyGee grin ) partnership.

Nwabali or whoever will be our SE number 1 goalkeeper will enjoy plenty cleansheets in the nearest future with this B-Square CB pairing.

BankyGee:
Omo Fredrick no assured?

I swear to God, forget age o, that guy almost made people not see Bassey for the iron bender that he is o, everytime they pair together, people always talk about Fredrick when Bassey also will have a mad performance.

Fredrick is a SUPER GUARANTEED starter anyday, anytime. In CB he tears, in RB he tears. He low-key sent Troost-Ekong to retire early because Ekong knew he was mature as a replacement for him even with his young age.

He has not been substituted out once since his debut for Nigeria, a stat only Calvin Bassey was holding in recent times till this AFCON. He has not had one bad day for Nigeria. He held down Aubameyang for 90 minutes. He fought war against three pacy and athletic wingers vs. DR Congo for 120 mins. A 20 years old boy o!

After Bassey, na Fredrick, no worry! The B-squared Wall 🧱🇳🇬

Honestly I don't like blaming players for missing penalties but Chukwueze's missed pen was border line diabolic.

Couldn't have done better if he intentionally wanted to gift the keeper.

Mujtahida:
It was not ill - luck. It was deliberate sabotage.

How would the goalkeeper not catch the ball? Even you, you go catch that ball. He positioned his body, telling the Gk where he wanted to play the ball, then as if that was not enough, he passed the ball to the Gk.

You are coming to play penalty at a semi final oo. This boy do us wetin no good.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 9:33am On Jan 15
Chief even in international football it's not easy facing big teams back-to-back unless you have a strong and balanced squad omo you go crumble.

Senegal that won in 2021 who dem face? Guinea, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea and Burkina Faso. The Egypt dey beat in the finals sef na penalty.

This year Egypt has been the only reasonable opponent they have faced.

Winning competitions as much as you require great squads you also need a huge slice of luck.

Goke7:
You’re very right, I think when we start meeting tougher nations back to back we Dey crumble!

Honestly once the game entered extra time I was no longer interested in the final cos if we had won we won’t have been able to win the final as our players will be fatigued against an in-form Senegal. I preferred we bow out in the semi final than having another heartbreak in the final. Once we couldn’t do the business in 90 mins I knew we were done. Check out back in 2013 We did the quarters, semi and finals in 90 mins.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 9:08am On Jan 15
Kudos all round to the boys for the valiant effort.

Bassey and Osayi were real warriors yesterday. Even Nwabali with his quirks stood up to be counted.

Onyedika's timidity really set the stage for how the game progressed. Has the technical ability but his failure to assert him was such a letdown.

The less said about Chukwueze's rubbish pen the better. Yes, anybody but miss a penalty but the way he took his own after Stanley had sweated to save one was so demoralizing. We have a goalkeeper who will give you a fighting chance in penalty shootouts which ordinarily should put our opponents under pressure but sadly our timidity doesn't allow us to capitalize on it.

We really need to inject more players with strong mentality not just talent and technical ability.

Osimhen's individual performances for the SE dwarf Kanu so there's no basis for comparison.

Joezinho:
So what trumph does Osimhen have that make you think he should be there ahead of Kanu?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 8:28pm On Jan 13
I celebrated the Olympic win too but in the cold light of day it's an underage tournament. Kanu's goals against Brazil no matter how good they made you feel are not part of his official goals tally.

Messi also one an Olympic Gold but guess which triumph cemented his all time GOAT status.

Joezinho:
Kanu also scored two important goals against Brazil in the semis at the Olympics. I know you will try to downplay the Olympics but Atlanta 1996 feat was historical. Our 1st ever Olympic gold in football..

I celebrated the naija’s Olympic gold more than the 2013 afcon win.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 8:08pm On Jan 13
Yes he's scored against Tunisia and Algeria two out of the best 10 teams in Africa in high pressure games.

So need to start an agenda where there is none.

Joezinho:
Funny you’re saying this, yet you want Osimhen in the starting XI. Have you seen the opponents he actually scores against?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by chrisooblog: 4:38pm On Jan 13
Yeah Chidi Odiah was very decent unfortunately injuries weren't kind to him.

Surprised nobody mentioned Efe Ambrose. He was good in the 2013 AFCON.

Joezinho:
Not gonna lie bro, chidi Odiah is levels. He can dribble too. Dude was Reece James before Reece James. An insane technician at RB.
He and Christian Obodo were my favourite players of that set esp for their aesthetic.
Can't forget Odiah masterclass against Enakharire sporting Lisbon in the 2005 UEFA cup final

1999 - Scoring hattrick against Chelsea. grin

Biggest fraud you mean using old agbayas to beat young men.

When polling booth winner faced men like himself, he was found wanting. Legendary player scoring against the likes of Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Uganda and co.

Fraudulent Uncle won AFCON without polling booth exponent.

Show us senior national team winners medal polling booth awardee won without the hard work of Iwobi's Uncle.

raumdeuter:
That tournament is still our biggest victory at world stage. A tournament we faced the great Brazilian side with Ronaldo Rivaldo Bebeto Carlos Dida and won them despite Iwobis uncle trying his best to sabotage us

No wonder top European clubs were falling over themselves to get Kanu not the likes of Frankfurt Fenerbahce Bolton
