Kingosytex:
I must confess that this library is much finer than the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe Library in The University Of Nigeria, Nsukka
Yes in design it's more beautiful than that of UNN but in capacity (both in size) and volume of books that of UNN still remains the largest in West Africa with its simple but classic architecture...

. people have been saying this for a long time.
Not just cause people are saying it but because UNN library is the largest in West Africa.

mosesakin1:
best library in West Africa for now
Really? have you seen that of UNN?

Even in capacity (including size) and volume of books it's not up to UNN's.

Nice one, there shouldn't be any room for Godfatherism not just in that state but in Nigeria. Every stooge and obsequious individual should be shown the way out.

What's he bringing to the table that would be different from the other guvnors? we need technocrats at the helm of our states not men that see that exalted position as a cash-cow and an avenue to wield more powers and clouts.

I wish him well in this contest.

Do you expect him to take a chopper to the site? he is a LG Chairman for Christ sake!

We are the architect of our own undoing in this country, always expecting any politician no matter their rung of leadership to live a flamboyant lifestyle. We need a change.

I don't know why taking the govt to find a lasting solution to the issue of erratic power supply in the country.

It seems everyone here is tipping Gboko.
Well, for me that grew up in Otukpo and stayed in Benue state for a better part of my life, I would suggest Otukpo cause it meets 90% of the criteria you are looking for safe for infrastructure; deplorable roads.

The town is a bustling one with large percentage of educated inhabitants. It's the headquarters/capital of the Idoma nation, and the second most important town in that state after Makurdi. It is to the Idomas what Makurdi and Gboko are to the Tiv. But one of the major vices in that town that turns me off is cultism (although it's in every major town of that state) from the youths and teenagers, although it whittled down before I left but I think the scare is still there.

But for proximity with Makurdi I think Gboko closer.

Benue will be great again!

Reeling out names of some men that have kept this nation in the doldrum as alumni of that university speaks more about that quality of education there. In Nigeria, only about four universities can boast of qualities alumni which cut across all facets of life from science, humanities, art, philosophy et al.

Why is the vice chancellor's picture there as if he's a politician doing a project?

Is he renovating the hostel with his father's money? angry

People wanna take extraordinary credits for basic things that should be normal, that's why we're still where we are as a people.
Our politicians do the same thing with the popular slogan e.g 'Aki is Working'.

CONSTRUCTION OF NEW ZIKS FLAT AND SCIENCE PARK

The wait is finally over, as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, as part of his continued effort to renovate the School hostels, flagged-off the construction of a new Ultra-Modern hostel complex on a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) Model. The hostel complex which will replace the old dilapidated Ziks Flat, promises to be a new model of hostel accommodation in the country. Speaking at the event, the Vice Chancellor stressed the need to upgrade the housing condition of the students, pointing out that learning cannot be effective in the absence of a conducive environment. He also led members of the Press to the construction site of the first Science Park and Infrastructure Hub in West Africa, which on completion will reaffirm the school position as the number one University with an industrial park in the country.

Congratulations on that, Obiano, but we rarely hear from you these days when it comes to dishing out the dividends of democracy to the people or should we assume that your second term has towed the path of most Nigeria guvnors where they outrightly ignore the issue of governance since they ain't coming back?

Please set a good precedence for your successor, nwokeoma!

Beautiful, Nigeria is on the path to greatness.

Thank God for the infrastructural development witnessed in the melting pot of the north but the other part that needs dire intervention is the human development, I hope Gandollar can turn his attention there to curb the level of ignorance and subservience coming from there.

I'm with you on this brother, Obollo-Afor should be amongst the top urban areas in the state/east. That town has been neglected for too long... the most painful part is its sprawl development gradually nosediving into a blight settlement. The town really needs a keen attention from its urban planners to avoid having one of the worst nodal towns in the country.
